Sushi Rice dry and no vinegar flavour in it.

The ingredients are fresh and the bento dishes are good. The roast beef is full of aroma, but the meat is too fat and stringy to chew through. The teriyaki chicken is good and the salad has a unique taste. It has a spicy tomato and has a Thai feel. The sashimi is cut quite thin and the sushi rice is dry. And it has no taste

Ordered through doordash. Had order over an hour then cancelled. Not going to order again. Waste of time waiting for an order not going to come. Crap outcome seriously. Need to wait for 3-4 days for refund now. Do t order online or you will be left out of pocket and no food. To the business. If you can t fulfil order then do t accept it. You lost a customer as a result of your poor time management and honesty

The food are pretty okay, BUT the service is sad! The young Korean girl at the cashier was so unhappy that seemed like she was too good to be hired for this job. It is just surprising to see such bad attitudes somewhere this central in Brisbane, something is seriously wrong with the staff and management, which makes us not sure with the food quality now thinking about it

Important notes for Brisbane dining! No air con. Gets really busy. Limited seating. However, the food is very good and its all iPad ordering so you dont need to wait for a server and youre within five paces of pastry or ice cream for dessert! Vegetarian options: Tofu salad is very nice. Vego sushi is good. Wheelchair accessibility: You can dine on the footpath but inside seating is not wheelchair friendly.

The sushi and prices are great, but there are very limited options for people who are gluten intolerant. Offering a sauce replacement or providing more gluten-free options would be highly appreciated. I have many friends who avoid going there because of the limited choices. I d love to see more gluten-free sushi and noodle options on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Coeliac

We came here to try because of the high rating. Sadly it s a very disappointing experience. Sushi are not freshly made! They pre-made it and put it aside. Rice was dry! Ordered Soft shell crab rolls, very thick batter! And it didn t taste fresh, seems like they ve been fried for awhile and made the roll when we ordered. All the dishes we tried was very average!

the chicken looked diseased and me and a friend got salmonella poisoning from coming here. stay away unless you wanna be sick, it s been suggested to me to sue considering they wouldn t give me a refund

Horrible service and communication. The food was overcooked and didn t taste good. The chicken katsu we order was really rubbery and difficult to chew and when we told the server she didn t speak English. It was such a difficult situation. Furthermore, they can t even get take away orders correct. The Korean servers said in Korean I do my know what nonsense she s talking about when we were trying to explain that they didn t get the order right. We ordered a take away meal, it got added to our bill but they didn t even count the food we ordered correctly so they didn t end up making the take away food. We then had to pay another sum for the take away food after a horrible explanation from the servers. Another point is that the tables and bowls all had cracks in them, a possible danger hazard. Horrible communication, mediocre food and safety issues . Ichiban needs to train their servers better, it ruins west end.

Unfortunately came into this store today. Poor hygiene standards and level of cleanliness, eg the covers over the sushi not washed properly, I pads didn t seem to be wiped down regularly. Also experienced poor Communication from staff

Best sushi, ichiban you should try.

Compared to other sushi train places, all the plates we tried were ok. Nothing extraordinary. Aburi combination plate was a good mix to try their aburi selection. The slices of fish on some of the rolls were very thin & small that it kind of looked sad. The sashimi platter was average, not super fresh.

Loved the sushi over there. The modern design of the restaurant letting you order whatever you want and get it delivered right to your table without moving is an awesome experience. The food is made fresh and the workers are kind. The atmosphere is very relaxing as it s not too loud and not too quiet. The sushi train is fairly priced. The sushi was exquisite. There all plenty of other options such as bento boxes and noodles. The sides are mouth watering. Especially the crab claws and the squid tentacles. There is plenty of seating options and the quick service will guarantee you great food at a small amount of time. Moreover, the spicy salmon aburi and the spicy scallop aburi are flamed right in front of you, and are served hot and fresh.

Western sushi and sticky floors... And theyll charge you half the price of a small kewpie mayo for a tablespoon of it...

Recommended. This place is a cute little cafe sushi train place. The sushi was tasty and it had a great selection. My only complaint is that some of the sushi isnt bite sized in an odd way so you have to take multiple bites and it usually falls to pieces in a mess but flavour made up for that imo.

Literally just sat through one of the worst dining experiences of my life. On a 34 degree day, they had NO AIRCON or fans and didnt even warn people or apologise. Temperature wise it was the equivalent of eating in my garage with the door closed. Saw at least 3 groups of people sit down then leave without ordering. The food wasnt too bad but my husbands eel bento only had 3 tiny pieces of eel and heaps of salad filler for $26. Plus all that sushi sitting out in 30° + weather was not very appealing. And when we asked for water, it was room temp, not sure why they couldnt at least put a bit of ice in? Couldnt wait to leave, not sure if Ill give them a second chance tbh.

I love most dishes from this place but Unagi bento is just not worth it at all for me. Currently $28.9 on ubereats (23/02/24). They never put fresh sashimi and tempura in every bento too.

We got in and pressed the assistance only to wait 15 mins and still have to look out for all the staff and call out for them. Once someone came, I asked if I could get the bento but change the chicken to Katsu and just said sorry we dont do that. But they still make katsu chicken its not like its not on the menu. I would have paid extra but she just said sorry and walked away. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else. The atmosphere was bad and the staff not helpful.

Very busy, but staff immediately explained and offered if we wanted to wait for the table. They do have a tablet to order the food every table, including where the train seat are. The tablet also can watch another steaming platform or playing game. Food was great, I cant finish my lunch, the container for take the left over is free. There is the parking in the shopping mall

There were a lot of people, and perhaps because there were a lot of orders, the sushi was made strangely. Other than that it was okay.

Today, we ordered sushi takeaway and some of them were terrible, just the fat salmon in it instead of the pure flesh. it was a bad experience for us

1 star review because I can t do 0. Worst sushi I ve ever had in Brisbane. Cold food, no water for the table, they make u get up to get ur own chopsticks and soy sauce brown avocado, the list goes on. Do urself a favour, eat something out of a bin on the street cause it would be better quality and better service than this restaurant.

This is the worst service Ive ever seen. I ordered but the waiter wouldnt let me sit in the restaurant and enjoy the air conditioning. I can only sit outside with the flies on such a hot day. They didnt even give me silverware. Why the distinction? Dont I deserve a guest? I was very angry.

This sushi shop serves up an authentic suburban 1990s Brisbane sushi train experience, just like my mate Dave used to cook. He went to Japan and when he got back he bought a book on how to make sushi, went to a local supermarket to get the stuff and used to made Japanese food like this!! Put enough soy sauce and fried crispies on everything and it tastes quite good. The smell of oily overcooked brown tempurad supermarket veggies takes me straight back to those memories. 5 stars for the memories, zero stars for the food. Actually minus one because there was fragments of shell in the surf clam sushi and everything tasted the generic same same, but plus one because the sashimi was surprisingly nice.

Loved this place! Staff are friendly and accomodating. Delicious sushi. Easy to order fresh dishes on the self serve tablet. So many great options. Only issue I had was finding the place. Location is wrong on Google Maps but when I called they gave me easy directions to find them. Highly recommend if you like a good sushi train.

Great food and fast

Surprised to see so many great reviews recently. Perhaps I went on an off night (it was a sunday evening). The staff seemed absolutely miserable, food was sub par (rice wasnt cooked enough, fish wasnt fresh), dishes and soy sauce werent on the table and when we asked for dishes for the soy sauce they werent clean. All round a disappointing meal.

Sushi used to be best around.. kind of gone downhill the last few months to the point we arent interested in going anymore. Everytime we get aburi sushis the rice is severely burned.. its really unpleasant. Not worth the cost

Went to Ichiban Sushi this Easter weekend. The food was undeniably tasty, well presented and of a decent portion. However, regardless of the 15% public holiday surcharge, their prices were quite high and probably not ideal for a quick late afternoon lunch fix . Sushi plates were about $4.60 each and the bentos were about $25. Didn t have too much interaction with the staff, which my introverted self was happy with. Having said all that, I would probably eat here again.

Nothing spectacular just another sushi train. I was probably expecting better for the location. I thought the main dishes looked like a better option. Large range of sushi on offer. Ive had better and had worse. Nothing to write home about.

We have been regulars here for a while but the food is getting smaller and smaller and the prices steeper. Loud annoying music. Disappointing all round. Penny-pinching. :-(

I m Japanese and I wasn t expecting too much to begin with, but the food was very disappointing. Rice was dry, fish was mediocre, and we actually left the restaurant before we got full as there wasn t anything appetising. We won t dine there again.

Amazing quality sushi. Really enjoyed trying the sweet prawn nigiri. All the aburi and nigiri were fantastic. Love ordering off the tablets, makes the experience so fun.

Not Japanese food at all. Very Korean style with too much of the sickly sauces to hide the lack of freshness. Prawn tempura was from a processed bag. Could taste the freezer burn and nothing is that uniform in shape and size unless mass produced. Miso, in a tiny bowl, is from a packet. We have exactly the same at home. The chicken katsudon: rice was correctly cooked, however, katsu was super salty. Staff were pleasant, thus the two star. Will not be returning.

Sushi Flavored rice is great! Can be a little punchier. Rice is grainy and not mushy. Its the mark of good sushi rice. Fish portions were chunky and generous. Finally found Ikura gunkan! 4.20 per plate of sushi is reasonable and good value.

Its a fairly standard sushi train. I have to admit its not the best one Ive been to. But it was ok - food was average. The service was quick and staff were friendly.

We read good reviews on here and decided to have dinner. We ordered the 24pcs sashimi platter and it was very disappointing. Firstly the pieces were cut into very thick pieces (1cm), secondly it was NOT fresh as I saw them take the tuna from the freezer, the squid was so slimy, please be wary asking if fresh pre dining!

Overall a good place for sushi Service was quick and they offered outdoor seating or a booth. They cleared the tables quickly, and ordered food arrived quickly as well. Had some sushi plates from the conveyor train. Their sushi plates have stronger plastic coverings so multiple sushi plates are stacked on the train. I ordered a chicken Katsu Curry, flavour was good, lots of small dishes in the middle, with pickled sour favours mostly. Lots of people (arrived around lunchtime on a weekday). The place is a little small so definitely make a reservation, but I would say this place has the second best sushi in Brisbane, in terms of taste and freshness of the sashimi. Soft shell crab is 10/10 Udon was a little bland Takoyaki was 10/10 with real octopus bits Adegashi Tofu was also 8/10 This place is also a little pricey but well worth it!

Very high quality sushi but there s a massive draft on cold days that means for the half the tables you ll need your coat on while you eat.

The food was generally delicious. But the person working in the kitchen instead of serving the hall, a Korean... was very careless. Of course, the restaurant work is busy and tiring, but Google says its open until 9, so I went there around 8 and got takeout, but I didnt expect people to be so impressed when I got an order. He frowned and sighed while touching the rice, and when taking ingredients out of the refrigerator, he made a loud noise to show that he was upset, and he clearly knew that the customers could see everything. It was a very disappointing part.

Terrible service. Is NOT OPEN until 9pm and staff dont care. Turned up at 8.15pm and were told we couldnt order and could only eat whats left on the sushi train. Has happened repeatedly and they dont update their hours, not coming back.

Good staff, service was good but the Sushi was average. I have had better presented and tastier sushi at other restaurants. They have such a great location so a little more effort on presentation and taste would really go a long way! Wish them all the best.

In my opinion the amount of meat used on the Nigris is way too small for what you pay. I ordered several Nigris and the meat was barely covering the rice, the beef Nigri had the thinnest and smallest piece of meat I have ever seen. I thought their sushi menu was way too small compared to other sushi places I have been to. The service was okay and the waitresses were nice.

I m a huge fan of sushi but this restaurant is a disgrace to sushi Had stomach ache after having their mustard arvo chicken sushi. The chicken was so hard that it was chew on. The sushi rice was so hard- probably left in the fridge for too long. There s barely any service. No soy sauce or water provided. If you ask for it, expect a long wait.
