I have been going here since the opening and they have always been lovely. I have dined in, done take away and delivery, all of these were phenomenal quality. Totally unethical! Everything looks like a half-finished product. The side dishes of the bento were not tasty, and the tomato scrambled eggs were very thick, much like snot. Desserts are not tasty enough. The taro coconut milk sago is not sweet, and the coconut milk is very light, just like a bowl of unsweetened milk sago... Black tea is very bitter and astringent. I hope you don t think that Taiwan s food tastes like this. Real Taiwan s food is much, much more delicious! In the end I finished everything I ordered, not because the food was delicious, but because I didnt want to waste money.

The braised pork rice is very good, better than many braised pork rice in Taiwan! The salty crispy chicken is also delicious. It tastes different from the Taiwanese ones and is more refreshing (the oil is very clean when you eat it. Taiwanese ones must use dirty deep-frying to have the classic Taiwanese flavor)

So touching I didn t expect to be able to eat such Taiwanese-style salted crispy chicken bento in Brisbane!

I ordered over $50 of food and the portion was appalling. But whats even worse is that it tastes so so bad. The taiwanese chicken was so bad, not crispy and fried with skin which was something i hate. The smell was also bad. The japanese food was completely inauthentic. Their takoyaki tastes like the frozen ones i buy and they used the wrong takoyaki sauce. Their sushi was also so bland and underseasoned, and doesnt taste authentic at all. The only good thing was their milk tea, but even then theres many bubble tea stores thats better. To say the least i wont be purchasing again.

What a great experience! This is a Taiwanese restaurant recommended by a friend. You must order the roast duck and roast chicken with rice. It s really delicious! I also ordered a Taiwanese grilled sausage with garlic on top, my favorite! The Yuanyang milk tea is also delicious and rich! And the store is very clean, suitable for sitting and drinking milk tea in the afternoon. It is my favorite store! This will be my canteen from now on, hahaha

I ordered this place of door doordash because I wanted a bubble tea and desserts. The prices are highway robbery. I paid $11.50 for a taro Swiss roll Cake, and almost $10 for a Chocolate one expecting either a whole roll Cake or at least a large portion at best but I get a small slice of it that would cost 2-3 bucks at my local pie shop. Taking away service fee, I paid almost 30 dollars for a bloody bubble tea and 2 slices of Swiss roll Cake. What a joke. The only reason this place isnt getting 1 star is the bubble tea was good but Im severely disappointed in the prices to food ratio.

My partner had been following them on Instagram for quite sometime. So, came to try while in the area. We ordered: - Braised pork with rice (s) I added a bit of spicy. Pretty ordinary, but couldnt find much wrongs or fault. All good - Spicy wonton in red oil I wouldnt really classified that as wonton, or (chao shou). More like dim sim. But red oil sauce, what should I say, perhaps there could be more to improve. - Taro sandwich Taro paste was taro paste. Very thick! I would consider it was a heavy filling dessert sandwich instead. I had half of the portion... I was about full and couldnt have any more of my order. My partner comment: Its a bit too filling and heavy, flavor wasnt well balanced. It could be hard for one person (mostly lady) to finish the whole sandwich with the plain taro mash. Could be ordered as dessert sandwich to share between 2 people at least. Drink: - Taro milk tea Quite thick on the taro paste, not overly sweet, can be ideal if you are a taro fan. - Butterfly pea lemon tea Too ordinary except the colour of the drink (coming from butterfly pea). Other than that, just a normal lemon tea. Atmosphere: Air-conditioning was great in this hot water. Decoration was pretty good, especially your camera eats the food first. Plenty of seating area. Just keep that in mind, there are two separate entrances. Service: Not much comment, because pretty much self service. So just normal. If you would like to try, its alright to visit.

An Asian clerk with a hairclip working today didnt say thank you to Asians, but was polite to people of other races. And also she didnt let me know when the takeaway was ready. Disappointing service, I dont want to go there again. The food is good, but this person ruined everything.

If youre looking for cozy restaurant than this is the one for you, the place is awesome and they provide variety of drinks related to tea and even food is available i ordered 4 types of bubble tea, bit pricey for students though my favorite is happy mango with coconut shell I think it was yummy. My taste buds is exclusively for Indians.

Came here for lunch, my wife is from Taiwan and I know the food well. Well our experience was not what I expect from Taiwanese culture. Staff were super rude not even saying hello when we go to order and we were the only customer in the store. Taro milk tea taste is very poor quality but the Thai milk tea is not bad. Pork rice was just that pretty standard but at 16 a bowl it s on the high end Pretty pricey for what it is, there is better Taiwanese places to eat around Brisbane with much nicer service.

Scrolling through the reviews here. I think i m not the only one to make this complaint - the WORST STAFF SERVING ATTITUDE EVER. No smiling, no greeting, after I made order, no response, i don t even know she understands or not!!! However, I do see two of staff talking to each other with smiling and loudly in their own language. I don t even know why owner not address these ongoing issues. Very disappointment for this visiting.

The best braised pork rice in Brisbane

The environment and taste are good, but I dont know why the staff dont have a good attitude. First of all, when ordering, a female employee was arrogant and aggressive. Plus, every time I say thank you, they never respond. If you really want to make your store a better place, you have to treat your customers as equals.

It s not a real Taiwanese restaurant . I feel disappointed for (prawn & pork wonton noodle soup) cause the soup taste like boiled noodle water and the pork in the wonton tasted smelly, no prawn or taste of prawn in it as well. Overall the noodle soup was tasteless and the wonton was very disappointing. The steam vegetable is very overpriced, with only a small bowl and charged for $11.8, it s shocking.

I love this place! The bubble tea comes in cute cups with ears on them and the large size is really generous! The Japanese beef bowl is really good and also the taro sago pudding. Just a word of warning - the watermelon sago bowl has rockmelon. It didn t say that on the menu and I m allergic. But it has such a lovely cozy atmosphere and delicious food! I love taking people here. The giant teddybear makes me happy, I call this place the teddybear place to my friends

The food is average, especially the pork rice is very delicious. Its a pity that the service attitude is really, really bad. Its the first time since I came to Australia that I was treated so unreasonably. The two clerks at the counter seemed to hate customers ordering food. It was so shocking.

The service attitude is very poor, the food is served very slowly, and the wrong dishes are often served. We ordered five different meals, and three of the wrong meals were served. The first two meals were all finished, and the second meal was not served yet. We had to wait for another meal. After waiting for 40 minutes, we won t be here next time. We asked the waiter to return the food that was not served. She also refused and said that she couldn t return it and we had to go to the front desk ourselves. I think this kind of service will fail sooner or later. Wont go there again

Went there at dinner time on Friday, wasn t busy at all but food were cold. Tasted fine but I am sure no one like cold food also the black tea tasted really bitter. When I got inside staff didn t say anything and just looked at me with cold attitude. So I just have to find a table by myself. Really bad customer service would never go again.

I ordered eel bento to take away. Charged with eel bento price but when I got home I got fried chicken bento. Thats how you make extra money, everyone.

Loved the beef noodle so much! Beef was so tender and flavoured, noodle was very chewy. Very authentic taste. I rarely have bubble tea, but tried their popular bubble tea Taro Milk, and I thanked my choice! Plus they use lactose free milk that I appreciate most. Highly recommend if you love having some authentic Chinese food.

It s my go to place for a bowl of authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup in Brisbane. Their fried chicken, friend oyster mushroom and braised pork rice are also very tasty. The place is kids friendly. My preschooler is always excited when we go for lunch.

Good Taiwanese food with nice extensive (milk tea) drink menu. Priced fairly. Nice dining space, very comfortable. Staff is very straightforward in the Asian restaurant style so don t expect table side service or a welcome, how was your day . Delicious.

Ordered the Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken, Taiwanese braised beef noodle soup and dragon fruit cheese foam green tea. Probably one of, if not the best braised beef noodle soup in Brisbane at the moment. Most places Ive tried never get the beef tender, HiHi was an exception! The soup was full of flavour, noodles were al dente and the braised beef were super tender. The salt and pepper chicken was also well seasoned and wasnt dry either. I messed up on my drink order by going 25% sugar. I shouldve left it as it is to experience the original flavour of the tea (it was a little bland). Will definitely return to try their other dishes.

We decided to visit Hihi in West End for some authentic Taiwanese food. Ordered some bento boxes and drinks. The meals came quickly and tasted ok but the portion size is very small for the price. Only a handful of chicken pieces when we ordered the large size. ALSO: The staff servicing this place honestly have the worst attitude I have ever come across in an Asian restaurant. The two girls making the drinks and taking orders at the counter should be very ashamed of themselves. Complaining loudly in mandarin about customers coming in. What s with the disgusting attitude? Why work there if you hate your job that much? How about a smile and greeting when customers arrive instead of rolling your eyes out of impatience and having a massive resting b* face plastered over your mugs. It really gives a very poor impression of Taiwanese cuisine. Scrolling through the reviews here on Google you can see that poor staff attitude and service is a recurring theme. Why has the owner done nothing to address a clear issue with the staff who work here? All I can say is that we were very disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. Can t imagine why anyone would want to spend their money supporting a small business that operates like this.

Rude, grumpy and impatient staff when ordering. We visited just before 8pm on Friday not sure what the closing time actually was, as there are conflicting times instore and on website. The staff didnt say anything about the shop closing soon when ordering, and closed the door to the seating area before 9pm with no explanation. Then staff came again asking us out then left again, there were also a few other customers around.

I ordered avocado yogurt but they gave me avocado milk with honey, they said they will make another one for me but only changed a new cup, I had that drink many times in fact, it s my only choice when I visit Hihi, I know the taste is wrong, I hate being cheated

Yummy bento boxes with a variety of side dishes. Healthy and balanced! Really like the taro pork floss sandwich super filling and satisfying if you are a taro fan, also has cucumber that gives a bit of crunch and refreshing bite. Taro fresh milk is amazing too, lots of fresh taro.

If you haven t tried Taiwanese food, Hihi desserts and drinks is a place you can t miss. Their bubble tea is definitely one of the best in Brisbane!! They serve 100% authentic Taiwanese food, snacks and drinks!! You would also love their desserts, a great place to complete your food desire.

Finally, a milk tea bar that offers non-dairy options ! Good variety of milk teas and pastries. Clean and tidy.

Have tried a few items and have liked most: tempura, taiwanese fried chicken, octopus balls, squid tentacles (although the one time I ordered was a it oily), i think they do the batter pretty well, and the pork mince rice was good too. While the taro sandwich was so generous on the paste, it was a bit dull and not very appetising for me, or maybe mine just happened to have not much pork. I like the pricing and portion sizes, gives room trying multiple snacks together. Havent tried their drinks as felt not much creativity compared to other bubble tea places.

We bought this wanting to eat some mango. There was no mango. Staff informed us mango is not included in this item. Please fix this incorrect product label.

Today was the first time I went there. I only ordered one portion of salty crispy chicken. The store accidentally ordered four portions, so we paid the bill without paying attention. When it was delivered, I found out why there were four portions. Because my friend who was traveling with us had already eaten it first and thought it was tender, crispy and delicious. I thought it would be okay to take four portions home even if I couldn t finish it. At the same time, the store owner took the initiative to come over and inform us that they discovered the mistake themselves. , asked us on the spot if we wanted a refund, and our friend said it didnt matter, because the salty crispy chicken was delicious and there was no harm in eating more. The store immediately gave me two free drink coupons for next time. We felt the sincerity of the stores apology. In addition, the signature braised pork rice is really a standard and authentic Taiwanese style braised pork rice with rich aroma. My Chinese friends who were traveling with me also thought it was very delicious. Taiwanese popcorn chicken are crispy and juicy.Taro pork floss sandwich too little pork floss that I could hardly taste of any! The sauce of spicy wonton is so balanced between sweet and spicy. In general food is good.

Lovely clean bubble tea restaurant. Fresh delicious, authentic food. Amazing selection of bubble teas. Fully air cond and good atmosphere. Love that its in the heart of West End. They lose 1 star for having disposable Bento Boxes for dine-in.

The meals are all delicious. I ordered rose milk tea and pearl milk tea for drinks. The taste is almost the same as in Taiwan. I will try other dishes next time

The food is delicious and the service is great. I just wanted to bring the wonton soup back to my seat. The lady at the counter said, It doesnt matter. Ill bring it. You sit down first. The food is so delicious. I didnt think of it until after it was served. I didn t take any pictures, but I took a picture of a mashed taro sandwich for tomorrow s breakfast! Will definitely visit again

Delicious bubble tea. The service-woman was adept at her craft, simultaneously making two drinks without missing a beat. Love the added environmental concern in them having reusable bubble tea cups. Will visit again.

This is the first time that I rate 0 to a restaurant. Although the food & drink is still ok, but their customer service is extremely bad!!! This place mainly sells bubble tea & Taiwan market food. One strange thing is I ve been recommended by my friend that their Bento Box (rice with meat and vegetable) was a good deal, but I can t find the Bento Box on any of their menus and special deal posters. When I asked the staff about it. The staff showed me a secret menu with Bento Box and drink combo deal. I was so shocked that they hide the special deal menu from us??! Only when I ask? Their staff looks very unhappy and impatient when I ordered the Bento Box & drink deal. I asked for Pepper Chicken Bento Box, she said sold out. I asked for Sanbei Chicken Bento Box, she said sold out as well. Can you believe it?! It was only lunch time on Sunday! Finally, we ordered 1 pork Bento Boxand 2 Sausage Bento Box with sandwiches and drinks. Only 1 Sausage Bento Box came. I said we have ordered 2 of these Bento Box and their staff looks very impatient and said the Bento Box was on the way. Then we waited another at least 20 min. Everyone else has finished the food but the Bento Box still didn t show up! I have chased 2 times during waiting. But their staff looks annoyed and repeat the same answer it is coming without checking with their kitchen staff. I ended up with cancelled the order because I had another appointment and have no more time to wait any longer. Their staff went into the kitchen for a while, then came back with the Bento Box, and asked me if I want my money back or just take the food and go. It was ridiculous!!!! I can t believe that I experienced so poor customer service in Australia like this. Anyway, I won t go back again.

Taiwanese fried chicken bento and wonton soup were both authentic. Winter melon tea and taro milk are pretty nice too. Taro sandwich is yet to be tried but I know it will be good too.

Best bubble tea in West End. Good snacks as well. Try the chips or calamari.

Delicious snack with refreshing bubble tea

My boyfriend told the staff I want to have a cup of fresh taro milk but the staff gave him a cup of taro milk tea. They are totally different. He trusted the staff so he didn t check the label when he got the drink. Why do the staff make such obvious mistakes? I m so sad.

The food is very good and even my big eater kid is been filled up Will definitely come back again.

My favourite drink here is happy mango! Great drinks here as always, however I do recommend to go 50% sugar or less as this place is a bit sweeter than regular bbt places. Other than that, the drinks are a hit!!
