Genuine, traditional Thai cuisine of the highest quality using the best local produce from the water, the land and the garden. You will experience cooking from the Executive Chef and owner Sasivimol Wongsri, born in the Isaan province, trained at and a graduate of the premier Thai cooking school in Bangkok (with double Diplomas) and for a number of years a Head Chef in Brisbane.
Decided to come here because of the reviews and we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and cooked the traditional Thai way. The gentleman serving us was friendly and very knowledgeable about all the food. We got to meet the chef/owner and she is lovely and explained how she made some of the dishes. Mango sticky rice is a must! Delicious.
My husband said it all in his review but seriously, THE BEST THAI food outside of Asia!! Beautiful little space with friendly service and attention to detail. Food flavours were perfectly melded for an amazing culinary experience. I am generally NOT a foodie, so for me to review is a big deal. Please try this food! You will not be disappointed. Thank you for making our Brisbane dining unforgettable. Will be back.
A delightful lunch enjoyed by the 4 of us, one of whom is a pro chef at a hatted restaurant. Delicious freshly shucked oysters, crispy Bangalow pork belly with a tasty vegetable stir fry. The salmon and kingfish dishes perfectly complemented with exciting sauces. Homely & friendly service, this cosy Thai restaurant is a real gem. Chaweewan, Chloe, Nic & Brad
Amazing, authentic Thai cuisine! The service was most welcoming and the owner was making sure we have everything we needed at all times. We loved the private style compared to big and fancy restaurants. We had Thai lemon tea, the vegetarian spring rolls, tofu pad Thai and papaya salad, which were just like you find them in Thailand! Prices are very reasonable (only $4 for the ice tea!), especially considering the quality. A real gem!
We came here on an exploratory walk-by, after checking the menu. Sasi is lovely and very passionate about her food. We came on two occasions, the first time for some very nice beef massaman curry puffs. We came back a week later for gai yang, kingfish entree and salmon hor mok. All were very nice indeed, with the kingfish and gai yang being standouts. The gai yang has been marinated exactly as it should be and the flavours were excellent. When you order the gai yang, make sure you order nam jim jaen to go with it, as it elevates it immensely. Go spicy, be brave. 😁 The hor mok flavours and texture was on point even though not served in banana leaf -still very good. It's wonderful to have authentic Isan food in Brisbane - thank you Sasi!
High standard home cook style Thai with every dish well presented. We ordered chicken spring rolls, pad Thai , chef’s special duck and finished with mango sticky rice. Everything was seasoned just right 👌 The duck’s texture and seasoning really amazed me, not dry or greasy at all. Great and attentive service with thorough introduction of the ingredients they use and the background of their restaurant. Could definitely tell the freshness of ingredients. I’d say it’s really a little treasure spot we found in West End. Great food reasonably priced. Would love to come back many times to try different things on their menu!
Authentic Thai My husband and I had an enjoyable Saturday night dinner at this new family-run restaurant in the West End dining precinct. The food was delicious - it was cooked and presented beautifully. The service was warm and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are good - and BYO for $3 per person is a plus!!
Title: A quaint and special place to enjoy Thai food Hospitality: This restaurant is run by only two people. The owner is accommodating and greets each guest at the table. His knowledge about food astounds me and I am grateful for his help in making the right decision for a fantastic lunch experience. Gentle music, light jingle . Item: Plan Goong Sensational shrimp treatment and fresh ingredients The colours of the plate is inviting to the eye. The treatment of prawns is sensational, succulent and tender in each mouthful. The tangy sauce allows the freshness of the vegetables to shine through, adding good amount of texture and crunch to the overall dish. Generous amounts of sweet green apples and herbs that compliments the spice. Item: Jasmine rice Fully cooked in each grain as someone who cooks rice, this is hard to master. (This dish serves well with rice) Item: Thai milk tea Tea and milk with sweetness adjusted to your liking, one of the standouts. I could taste that good quality tea leaves are used. It is creamy and coats the mouth with a mild sweetness. The beverage is not icy but carries great depth of flavour that is delicious and pleasant. The food is on the pricier side yet you are awarded with great satisfaction each time.
Overall the best Thai I have ever had outside of Asia. Flavours are amazing and dishes are perfectly made. This isn t your standard western versions of dishes, but is clearly made by someone who understands the cuisine. House made spring rolls pack a very nice chilli hit, green curry was perfect with a lovely flavour, duck special was fantastic, Musaman beef was lovely, flavourful and tender. My wife couldn t stop raving about the coconut rice even after we had left. 11/10 overall. May come to Brisbane again just to go back to this restaurant.
Amazing food, loved the chicken and chilli spring rolls and massaman cuffy puffs for entree. BYO and my new fav Thai in Brissy!
Perfect!
The food was exceptional! Some of the best food I have had in Brisbane. I will definitely be coming back to eat the chicken curry puff.
Beautiful food. Tastes very traditional but also creative.
I recently visited this Thai restaurant with my family, and the food is incredibly authentic. The flavors are exactly what you would expect in Thailand, giving you that comforting feel of going home. Many Thai customers dine here, which speaks volumes about the quality and authenticity of the dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a true taste of Thailand its a favorite among Thai people!
I would upload some pictures but there wasnt a plate left to take a photo everyone cleaned and cleared by my party. Walked in with 8 people and had a great time everyone was very accommodating and the food OMG superb as if I was dining in my extended families home in Thailand. Wet dishes wet! Like they are meant to be no thickeners or corners cut here. The salads and side dishes just as authentic.
Delicious Authentic Thai with impeccable service, will eat here again !!
Incredible! First time experiencing this beautiful Thai cuisine in Brisbane. Staying 5 days in Brisbane, discovered this hidden gem. Amazing dishes. The mango sticky rice, the best I ve tried. Considering I have tried so many through Sydney and Thailand. Takes me straight to Thailand. Definitely worth a second visit or more. Thank you again!
Aside from the weird I m just the finance guy wandering round inserting himself into any and all conversations, this place is excellent, cosy and serves AMAZING food.
Great little independent restaurant. Food was delicious!
Good pad thai! Worker said its take at least 30min but after 25min I can get my pad thai! And its delicious Thank you for your service Food
Exceptionally nice food, lovely staff and byo The scallops and mango sticky rice dessert are to die for. Be sure to try them :) Food : 5/5
Thank you so much for an authentic Thai meal. Food was rich with fresh Ingredients and cooked fresh to order. We just stumbled across yourrestaurant tonight well we where in the area, this is by far the best Thai ive had not only in Brisbane but Australia.
We went there for dinner while staying in Brisbane. We chose this Thai restaurant for the high google rating, and we werent disappointed! It was worth the 15-minute walk from our accommodation. Delicious food, very good flavours. I eat lots of Thai and I really rate this restaurant. Lovely owners too. They were very kind in hosting us (and our toddler at dinnertime!) The menu didnt state what was gluten-free, but the chef took our order and was able to advise options for me.
We always enjoy the beautiful Thai food from Not Just Thai!
This place has seriously good Thai. We loved it.
This place is an understated gem. Thank you Sasi and Bruce for gifting us with this authentic and delicious restaurant experience - which is also great value and allows for BYO. Sasi, your great skill and passion for Thai cooking has been a real treat and delight for our senses. Bruce we thank you too for your great service and care for sourcing quality - you certainly can tell the not just Thai difference! We love your restaurant and have become regulars! :-D
The most delicious smashed barramundi soup and butterfly pea sago pudding ..top notch Thai!
Great night out with friends. Small restaurant. Nice food. Had trouble choosing. Beef Massaman Curry Puff was great.
Best Thai in Brisbane!
Great food, love the steak. Friendly service.
Amazing flavour. Good option when you want to eat some delicious food.
This place is everything. The food is divine, and the service so kind. Highly recommend :)
This Restaurant was recommended to us a few weeks ago. We decided on the spur of the moment to take our Visitor who was leaving the following morning back to Hervey Bay. It was a most enjoyable evening, with the most Delicious Thai Food we had ever experienced. I cannot highly talk enough about Sasi the Chef who makes her own sauces for each and every delicious plate of food. She is a Master Chef in our minds and we were so amazed about her clever food presentations.
Very good food and great service here
Best Thai food in West End. Had the green curry and crispy pork belly with both being fantastic and flavoursome.
Delicious food, very good service.
Delicious food!
10/10. Food was great authentic Thai, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Though I probably won t be adding the music to my Spotify playlist it does add the Thai experience. I recommend the crispy pork!
The chef lady, who is the owner is so friendly and talkative. I had a Pad Thai and beef curry puff, they were so traditional and delicious. Don t expect it has the same taste with other untraditional Thai restaurants that you had before. Encourage everyone not to only have Pad Thai, but also plenty of stuff should be tried. Not just Thai you know! Didn t take a lot of pictures because I was too hungry The chef offered me two of the mini coconut jellies to end my experience there.
Food was amazing!! The gentleman who served us was very attentive and friendly! Overall our experience was very positive! Definitely will be coming back
This was definitely the best Thai we have had in Brisbane. So fresh, authentic and delicious. Would come back here in a heartbeat and recommend this place to everyone!
Recently moved into the area and tried my new local Thai restaurant. Mmmmmm mmmm green curry and mango sweets to finish it off Just great flavour, good car parking in the middle of west end on a Saturday night The new local Thai shop for me
Don t know how this was highly rated. Ordered takeaway Gai Yang which was part of the large dishes menu section, and the picture online looked pleasing. Unfortunately this was far from it. Portion was so small it could ve been called entree. Chopped salad was bland like it was from a coles prepackaged coleslaw section. Also asked for mild spice level not spicy
Amazing!! Hot Summer makes you exhausted?? Come here!
Foods are very tasty and the staffs are very friendly and hospitality. You guys should give it a try while coming by.
Best Thai food I ve had in Brisbane! The chicken pad Thai I ordered was amazing
Decent Pad Thai. A bit too sweet for my liking.
We had an excellent meal, with great service and a nice atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great Thai meal at a reasonable price.
We had our first experience at the restaurant. Service was friendly and food was exceptional. Loved it! The only disappointment was that it took us locals 6 months to actually come to eat here! Will be back!
Really horrible service (front-of-house interrupted us several times when ordering). We brushed it off because they delivered to us; however, the food was unacceptably poor quality and they messed up one of the orders. Upon attempting to refund the incorrect order, was met by an astonishing lecture. Front-of-house did partially refund the order, but provided an incorrect amount.
Food is the best thai food ive tried in ages. Great spot for easy casual dining and BYO. Have been back several times now and is my new go to spot for Thai
Amazing food- have tried multiple dishes over a few visits- never disappoints. Will be back
We had the crying tiger and a green curry with tofu, both dishes were a 10/10, extremely flavorful and tasty! Service was very welcoming and nice!
Best Thai food in Brisbane !!! We tried their chicken curry puff. It was very yummy , they baked it instead of deep-fried. The waterfall steak salad and roasted pork belly also very good and the sauce just perfect, no too sweet or spicy . I would love to recommend this restaurant. Worth a try
Absolutely the best Thai food I have had in Australia, the owner is a true gentleman and the young lady at the counter was most courteous and attentive to our needs. The chefs, excellent cuisine! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available Kid-friendliness: Kids were made to feel welcome
Food is outstanding
Very authentic Thai food and great service
Sasi is a world class chef and a genius alchemist of gastronomy. She understands subtle flavours and multi layered Taste explosions. She brings such fresh and unique ingredients. I will be back again and again! Thank you Sasi Food
Best Thai food and service in Brisbane, hands down. Everything on the menu is exceptional!
Best Thai food in Australia! To start off, the staff are very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. The service was great and the wait for the food wasn t very long. When it came to the food, every bite felt as if we were eating locally in Thailand!!! This place is a must-try if you get the chance or are in the area.
Wed heard it was good and all the reviews were spot on. We were blown away by the authentic flavours, the choice of dishes and freshness of the food. Its now our favourite Thai restaurant ever.
Best green curry ever!
I tried their chicken curry puff. It was yummy, they baked it instead of deep-fried. I would love to recommend this, worth a try!
Excellent and original Thai food. Such a nice service. Honestly?! The best green curry I ve ever eaten!
This is the wonderful and authentic Thai food with awesome customer service. The dishes were so fabulously delicious, especially Gai Yang and Kanom Jeen Nam Ya Ka Ti . I would come back again. Highly recommended
Had Pad Kra Proaw Gai (Spicy Thai Basil Chicken) for lunch and it was truly scrumptious. The stir-fried minced chicken tastes a bit hot on the first try but having it with their Thai jasmine rice is just perfect! Will definitely come back again!
Hidden gem!! The food was authentic and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be visiting many times again :)
What a fabulous little restaurant. Went there last night - staff were beautiful, food was amazing. Great Thai! Super fresh, tasty, zingy, lots to choose from... just how it should be. Topped off with a Sago pudding (with corn in it) and a chat with the chef. Perfect. Check it out, tell your friends!
Customer service was fantastic and the food was delicious, I will be back soon.
So delish!! Has all of my favourites on the menu and the service is wonderful. Can t wait to go back!
We actually eating right know, THIS FOOD IS SO AMAZING. New Thai in West End, come and enjoy it, I m sure you will love it
very nice place. new restaurant pls support them . food is awesome. lady chef is the real deal.
Mussels, 10/10 Vibrant, Spicy not for those with bland taste buds thats for sure. - first time trying this joint, really keen to try rest of the menu, has a really nice kick the gravy and shows they are not afraid to serve some real Thai heat. Do call up before hand as when I went they were fully booked on a tuesday night.
A new Thai gem in West End. A warm welcome and attended by a friendly waitress. Despite only operating for a month, the shop was filled and busy with takeaway orders. That said, the food didn t take long to arrive. Decided to order the below: Salmon Capriccio - Fresh with a spicy kick Thai Fish Cake - Tasty and tangy Crying Tiger Steak - Well marinaded but would have preferred a rare cook. Coconut Saffron Jasmine Rice - Fragrant and generous portion Excellent service, tasty food and a good start to the business.
Amazing and authentic. Just like the best food Ive had in Thailand. This place deserves its 5 stars. They did an awesome Pad Prik Khing especially for me. Its not on the menu, but if you ask for it, shell make it! Soooo good!
Really great food and super friendly staff. You should definitely visit these guys. Was very impressed. Food : 5/5
Wow. This has to be the most authentic and flavoursome Thai food we have had since we were in Thailand. The food was simply delicious. Make sure you try this place. You won t be sorry if you like Thai food. The service was wonderful. A very sweet young woman who was trying her best to provide the best service we could expect.
Tasty food and friendly service. Had the steak (Crying Tiger) really tender and juicy; the salad is also good. Its a nice cozy place to have a meal.
Wow!! Just tried this place for the first time and the Chicken Laab is amazing. So flavourful. Just delicious. The service was great and so fast. The lady who served me was just lovely. Thank you, Ill be back and will send my friends and colleagues.
The food is amazing, the flavours and the taste it s just next level. My new favourite Thai restaurant in West End
Service was phenomenal. The pad Thai and satay sauces were mindblowing! Prices were also very good for portions. They really care here and you love to see it.
The food is sensational, super fresh and authentic, I felt as if I was back in Thailand. However, the ambience could use a little improvement, some warmer lighting and more flowers maybe. The service was impeccable, very friendly and light hearted.
Best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand! I will definitely be back. We nearly got takeaway because we weren t sure about the ambiance (some lanterns or softer lighting would make it such a beautiful space), but we had a memorable dinner here. Thank you and cannot wait to return!
I have recently arrived in West End and thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The food is so authentic and tasty I ate thai 2 days in a row AAA+++
Good food, good service, dog friendly! I had calamari with yellow curry and saffron rice. Will come again!
Fantastic food! Fresh, authentic and beautifully presented.
Had lunch with my friend yesterday and turns out the foods were amazing! This was my first time try Tom Yum Goong and it was REALLY good. Served by Bruce and greeted the head chef too. They were lovely! Thank you so much. Will come back later Photo 1: Tom Yum Goong (we ordered not really spicy because my friend couldn t eat spicy things ) Photo 2: Chicken Mince Cake
One of the best Thai restaurants in Brisbane. The food is very tasty and Thai style. Friendly staff, especially the head chef, Sasi. We will come back for sure!
Crying beef there is phenomenal!!!! Best Thai restaurant in town omgggggg
Great food and service!
Authentic Thai food at an affordable price and very friendly service. Happy to support this woman owned business. Food : 5/5
10/10 all round! Came here with my partner due to not wanting to wait for the restaurant next door to have space and upon entry we were greeted by the waitress and by a lovely gentleman who was also having dinner there. He told us about how the chef owns the restaurant, how passionate she is and my goodness! It really showed in her cooking because it was delicious! By far the best Thai I ve had in a long time. No need for extra seasoning. A fine dining experience tucked away in west end
The food is delicious, the owner is friendly
Absolutely great service, best service I ve ever personally . Most importantly all of the ingredients were 100% Thai and quality and came with a reasonable price tag Food
Wow!This unassuming little Thai restaurant nestled in Vulture Street in West End has just become our new favorite place to get Thai. The service is amazing and the food even better. We eat a lot of Thai food and Not Just Thai has been elevated to our number 1 place to go for this cuisine. The flavours and spice in the dishes were bang on, and the curry broth was not at all bland or watered down. To top it off, there was a lot of Gluten free options available for my wife who is Coeliac (not on the menu, but the Chef is delightful and very accommodating!). The prices were very reasonable and it was lovely for the Chef to come out and personally greet us (for a takeaway order) and offer us a complimentary desert for our wait, which wasnt excessively long. The desert was a serve of Tropical Thai Tapioca Pudding and was also a winner! Ill be ordering some with our next meal for sure. What a little local treasure. Dietary restrictions: Will cater for Coeliacs - just need to ask!
Vegetarian options: Able to choose vegetarian option Food
The food here is delicious, I was really impressed by the flavours! Theyre a new business and the chef is very good. I went with my family and they were attentive to dietary requirements, like gluten free.
Lovely home cooked Thai food and enthusiastic service.

Outstanding dining experience. Incredible value. Probably the best Thai in Brisbane, at least that I am aware of.
The best Tai restaurant in Brisbane personally
Great service
Best Thai I ve tried outside of Thailand
Delicious food, the steak in the waterfall salad was very tender and juicy. The sauce for the curry puff was home made and flavourful. The sticky rice in the mango sticky rice was good quality sticky rice. The couple (chef and FOH) was so friendly and kind, with amazing service. Would strongly recommend!
