Bustling Chinese and Vietnamese eatery serving traditional dishes like pho in a relaxed space.
The staff are very friendly along with great table service. Menu choices are fantastic with plenty to choose from. Vegetarian options are great with the choice of additional ingredients added to your dish for minimal cost to you. Outside seating available as well as indoors. Large meals so great value for money if your hungry as well as great tasting choices. Fresh ingredients used and excellent table service. A good mix of locals use Trang for catching up with friends and family as well as families with young kids frequent the restaurant. A good local West End vibe and friendly service servicing great tasting Vietnamese dishes…what more could be better than Trang West End.
The food at Trang is absolutely divine! Please do yourself a favor and go dine in (or takeaway!) with Trang soon. The crispy tofu vermicelli rice noodle bowl that I had was exceptional. I'll definitely be coming back. Keep up the great work :)
I was greeted with the most upmost wonderful service from the gentleman server. Warm water can be provided upon request. Main dishes can be tailored to fit the customer Tofu: light exterior shell, silken tofu, with the right amount of aromatics Chicken is succulent, fulfilling with every mouthful.
Terrible takeaway delivery experience. $21.95 for a meal that was missing items (fish cake and shredded pork). Portion size is too small for the amount they are charging. This has been the worst Vietnamese combination pork chop set I have had in my life
The Bun Bo Hue and Combination Fried Noodles were quite average. I would recommend driving to Inala for quality Vietnamese cuisine.
Incredible food for amazing prices! Absolutely loved the Veggie + Wonton Laksa & the Prawn rice paper rolls. Really lovely service too. Cant wait to come back to try more!
We had yummy lunch at Trang restaurant. We tried combination beef noodle soup, spring rolls, salts and peppers deep fried Tofu, vegetarian noodle soups and tri colour Vietnamese desserts. All yummy and happy.
My wife and I had been debating where the best viet food is and we think Trang’s is one of the best you can find! Yum doesn’t just cut it. The flavour is authentic and potion is generous. I particularly love their special beef pho because yep you guessed it. It’s got literally everything and it’s just sooo good! I personally didn’t quite like the spring rolls though as it was vegetarian and a little doughy, but other than that everything was perfect!
Used to come here as a student a decade ago, and it was great. Came back after an extended hiatus still great. Laksa is bangin
The place was beautiful and clean!Would go here again if I could
Authentic food. Great serving. Amazing staff. Parking availabl outside of the shop. Kid-friendliness: Different kids sweets available by counter.
Great restaurant
I have a peanut allergy. The waiter served me hoisin sauce and said there were no peanuts (I had never tried it). Three bites in my whole mouth was itching! I tried to explain and understand where it was from in my meal, but he kept assuring me there were no peanuts (he didn t know). But I looked up that peanut butter is a MAIN INGREDIENT in hoisin sauce! luckily i m not anaphylactic, but the experience was so horrible and not treated well. I was denied a refund :( I vomited in the restaurant toilet. When I tried to make my way home I vomited outside the bus stop which was HUMILIATING and vomited again when I got home. This is a huge concern! the staff need to be very careful of FOOD ALLERGIES AND HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS!! and it sucks that i didnt get any compensation, just an apology but even then, as I was speaking he said well i have to put in these other orders a bit dismissively :( VERY UPSET ABOUT THE WHOLE THINGG
Overall a pretty disappointing venue. The meals were bland and when outlined to the waiter there was no real appreciation when I was clearly dissatisfied with our meals, I paid the overly priced morsels but rest assured we wont be back
The best laksa. Get that spicy soup!!! Trang never disappoints.
Excellent food and service. Have come back numerous times. Get the Vietnamese coffee with crushed ice. Its very delicious
This is my favourite restaurant I love to order from and do so often. I very much appreciated their acknowledgement and their note made my Sunday evening. Im going to enjoy their food and watch a movie.
Authentic Vietnamese food with reasonable price with good customer service
Ordered Laksa during lunch and paid $30+ even through on the menu it says $14 something, didn t mentioned about the size and gave us extra large one which we did not want. Would not even give us refund. Very unhappy experience. Would not return.
The beef stew was fantastic. Highly recommend the tri-color for dessert
Awful food, overpriced and comically small portion sizes. Avoid
Great night with fantastic food
Great food. The manager is so friendly and welcoming to all of the customers.
Amazing food, great service and all at a good price! Really friendly staff and a really nice quiet dining experience. Thanks and I ll be back soon! :)
Properly beefy pho with big pile of slurpy noodles, and lots of beef. Been looking for good pho in Brisbane. Definitely coming back here. I can t believe it was so cheap, so quick, so close to the city (as someone who misses all the cheap eats of Melbourne). Relaxed atmosphere, nice decor and a steady stream of locals. Owner greets them like friends. Seems like a well kept secret.
We tried Pho and Bun Bo Hue, both are very very average to below the standards expected of Vietnamese food from a restaurant. I hope they can improve
Have tried to order food from here multiple times, no one answers the phone, tried Uber eats, tried DoorDash with ongoing long waits and then orders cancelled Fantastic food, but what kind of service is this, you re not going to stay in business long if this is the attitude you have Second time I ve tried to order off DoorDash with drivers going to your business and sent away Get your act together
Food was terrible! The worst Asian meal had in years. Multiple mistakes made with the ordered food. Forgot purchased drinks and a main dish as well so others had finished dinner before that arrived! Other customers not happy and heard complaining about similar mistakes. So disappointing!
Expect good food value for money and basic necessities .
Atmosphere: hot, air conditioner wasnt working, toilets were dingy, isolated, badly needs a facelift. Food: ok, presentation could be improved, beware old prices in the menu - we were charged higher at the cashier due to price increase (notice somewhere in the menu?). Service: great, friendly ladies but had difficulty communicating our queries re food/menu.
As customers of over 10 years, even before the current owners. We booked for 10th Feb over 2 weeks before over the phone which was accepted. We turn up for 6.30pm and there is a written sign saying they have closed for lunar new year. Where was the phone call to say you were closing or more importantly why wasnt the staff member who took our booking aware or trained correctly? Not even a notice on your socials. We will never be back again!
This our go to Vietnamese restaurant in Brisbane. The food is so fresh and delicious. The staff are so friendly and lovely. It s a five star rating all around!
I jsut went to get some takeaways and it took 35 mins before I then asked for a refund he transferred somehow from the kiosk to my bank instead of my card and said I have to wait 2/3 days for my refund. Bad service all round.
Quality food served fresh & hot (or cold), great service, good value
We waited 45 minutues for 2 bowls of noodle sup!! Sorry, but will never ever come here again.
Waited 1 hour for spicy beef noodle soup, very crazy long wait, no staffs cared. The noodle soup was not good. Also the price is higher than in menu, too expensive. Never never come back again
A tall guy with curly hair took our order after a while. Waited for another hour for two soups. I asked the lady to double check my order, and she went back and asked me: what was your order? We didnt receive your order. We waited until the new table received their food, and ended up leaving with eating and drinking nothing. The poor girl was nice enough. But If you guys could not handle the volume, just let your customers know the wait time at least.
Fantastic pho
Some meals you eat to stay alive, some meals you eat to be polite, and some because you have no choice as toddler. At trangs, the food was celestial gift brought down by a god. The moment the soy braised duck in herbal soup touched my lips, memories of a past life emerged. A life of flavour, joy and peace. To swallow was to part from joy itself. My soul will remain an empty husk until I next return. 10/10 would eat again
We went for lunch today. Although we sat inside ,the whole dining area is full of flys , very annoying while we tried to ate our lunch. All dishes menu displayed have a extra $2.00 added on to the price. ( owner said they put the price up but didnt want to print new menu ) I guess they might put the price up again very soon ,so dont bother printing new menu. Food were acceptable, good serving size ,but nothing worth mentioning. One thing I couldnt accept was the price for their drinks. I ordered 3 colours dessert. $7.50 Which is way above any other Vietnamese restaurants charging around Brisbane. $10.00 for a bottle of beer. Any 4 or 5 star restaurant may be charging this price, not a humble little Vietnamese eatery place . Overall, I gave 2 star rating.
Crispy skin chicken with egg noodle soup
Been going to Trangs for over 10 years, and Ive introduced many friends and family to the restaurant as well and they always love it and end up becoming regular customers themselves. The food is excellent, very delicious and very authentic, always good friendly service, decently priced, and the meals usually come very quickly. The whole time ive been a customer, this has not changed and has been consistent over the years . I cant recommend enough
The service was really excellent. I had the soft shell crab and it was really salty though. Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian
Simply the best. Good quality, consistently.
Good food
Very tasty vegan laksa and tofu pieces. I was super pleased with how flavourful the laksa was, not lacking in any way. services was quick and personalised, really enjoyed the authentic family-run approach. Thank you for a phenomenal experience
A hidden gem. Food is always incredible and brought out so quickly. I never go anywhere else when Im around West End
I had a great meal there on Monday and raved to my partner about it so we went back tonight.. I explained to the waitress that I have a fish allergy and asked if the marinade pork had fish sauce In it because I had the allergy she said no, but now I m sick having an allergic reaction to the likely fish sauce that was probably in my meal please make sure your staff can speak enough English to know about allergies . I don t think I ll go back again!!!
The only reason I ve given a 5 star for service is because that s the most I can give. Every time I have been here has been exceptional. The food is delicious and is always brought out quickly. The staff are incredible. So friendly and always so attentive and checking if your food is ok. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in West End, without a doubt!
The spicy beef noodle was good but only a few thin beef slices + missing the spice paste (lemongrass, onion, chili) which is the not-misses ingredient for this type of noodle. The restaurant can afford to print a new price list instead of being told at the order counter $2 increased.
Special beef noodle Pho was so tasty 3 years ago. Now it tastes really salty. I had to drink a lot of water afterwards (too much msg, I would say) It Became a normal everyday pho. Nothing special. Sorry I wont go back again. Food
Pretty good. No complaints.
Pretty good viet food at reasonable prices, rice dishes were better than the soup.
The combination Laksa E7 on the menu is to die for!
Pho noodles not fresh, tastes a tad like plastic. Very little meat. Ratio of portions not adequate. Taste of soup subpar. Pho from here must be drastically improved, it is well subpar compared to all the other pho options around the place. Cafe Nam at west end, viet pho ever, cafe o mai. They all have far better pho soup noodles. Other food is okay. But the pho is terrible. Sorry for the bad review, pho just means a lot to me and it ruined my experience for a meal after a long day when we accidentally ordered Uber eats from here.
A West End institution. Food is great and the atmosphere very West End, in the local sense of the phrase.
Best restaurants
Disappointing
Always come by here every few months. Got the pho this time and it was exactly what I was craving. Laksa is super good too!
They the business won an award in 2021. It wasnt for their Pho combination dish.
Food depends on each persons taste, for my family its okay. Good service friendly staff. spacious space
Answer your bloody phone , we have been calling for 3 days and nobody answers your phone . Service here is not good at all .
Best Pho in town.
I had egg noodle combination and it was awesome. Definitely will be back!
5 stars for the services and food was mediocre Better options were out there
Great food, a little westernised but still good.
Service and food here are excellent
I ve never had a bad meal here. Always good & well priced, come try it for yourself Vegetarian options: Spring rolls very good
recently went back here after moving away from west end for couple of years, had my dog and they were accommodating and gave him water, didnt get uptight like normal Aussies. food was same great food, came out really quickly. when i went to pay then let me walk my dog into the counter, reminded me of Europe where they are way more relaxed and friendly with dogs out and about. thank goodness for Asian people who come here to the penal colony and make it nice for us ....
Very pretty paintings on the wall and amazing noodle soup
Been coming here for near 20 years, nothing has changed. Food is consistently amazingly. Family business all sweet kind people.
I ordered a standard meal from Trang at 6.00 pm for delivery at 7.15. At 7.30pm Trang cancelled the order. Worst service in the world. I m done with them. Service : 1/5
Great totally GF DF food with really friendly efficient service, thank you! Dietary restrictions: GF DF friendly Food : 5/5 |
Found a hair in my food and was offered a free rice food was also bad (go to ca phe nam for Vietnamese in West End)
Took over half and hour to get our food after ordering and the restaurant wasn t that packed. Way too long to be waiting. Portion sizes are a bit small.
Worst vermicelli salad ever. Pork and prawns were badly over cooked. Noodles had weird taste. Disgusting food.
Worst dinning experience I have had. I sat outside on the foot path with my family. Next thing a dog arrived for dinner with its owners on the table next to us. Then 2 dogs and their owners sat at the table opposite us. So three dogs at the restaurant, of course they barked at each other. 1 dog then tripped a pedestrian on the footpath. (irresponsible owner) Don t get me wrong I love dogs but I don t need them at a restaurant when I am taking my dinner. Also the staff allowed a lady to sit and dine without her producing any evidence of vaccination. I am double vaxed but I don t have my phone, she told the staff. Reply from the staff, I will let it slid this time. Oh and the food was average.
Just respondingto Jasons review below I was part of the table that he refers to in his review. Jason complained that one of us was unvaccinated and allowed to dine by the restaurant. on the contrary the restaurant waiter was clear that we all had to show proof that we were vaccinated and my friend had left her phone at home and was unable to produce her vaccination certificate. the waiter told us that she would be unable to be served until she could produce proof. My friend actually caught a taxi home to get her phone so she could sit down and eat with us. The waiter was incredibly polite and apologetic for making my friend do this but we totally understood. Regarding our dog we apologised to the pedestrian who tripped over our dogs leash and there was no harm caused . Thanks Trangs for a really great night. The food was amazing and service fantastic.
Noodles are ok..... Drink are good!!!!
Only because I haven t a negative star. Went with a group of people and generally agreed that the food was ordinary. I ordered a takeaway and for $23 it was the second worst takeaway I have had in memory. The service was good however the food let the show down. My suggestion would be if going get smashed before going and keep drinking. I know it s harsh however this was my monthly escape from the house and the money I spent was challenging to earn and save.
Absolute WORST pho I have ever had!!!!! Broth tasted foul yuck!!!!!!!Came with no serving of bean shoots, chilli or basil which is essential for authentic pho and when I asked for some, they brought us some dry old shallots. What has happened? This place used to be awesome?
Food is OK, but very expensive. Service is slow.
Great place for food and space for enjoying a meal with mates. Service was patient, friendly and knowledgeable in the food they sell as well as recommending what people might prefer. It was my first time here and can see myself eating here in the future. I can recommend Trangs for Vietnamese and Chinese food. Also, they do split bills. Tell your friends or try it yourself, or not. I am a stranger on the internet so you dont have to listen to me. Listen to your gut and if it likes good food, then I can recommend here.
Really enjoyed the food here
Just moved to the area and decided to try this place. Overall quite disappointed. Ordered a takeaway of pork ribs in Peking sauce and small fried rice with prawns which cost me $27. The serving was small though the biggest let down was the rice being cold and containing no prawns at all. I had to microwave it when I got home. Pretty sure it was at least a couple of days old.. Theres another Chinese a couple of doors down thats better with bigger servings that provide 2-3 meals for the same price.
Had the large special beef noodle soup. Its taken a downhill run since the change of ownership. Noodles are packet noodles which break when any clamping force is applied, had to eat them with a spoon. Great service still. Has lost a bit of the authentic feel.
Great spot for delicious and affordable Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. I keep going back for the vegetarian wanton laksa - best I ve had in the country at a great price!
Vegan food available and it is delicious. Particularly enjoy the noodle soup. The staff are super friendly.
Fantastic restaurant. Went in by chance and was pleasantly surprised with the standard of food and friendliness of staff. My friend had a Pho and is Vietnamese and a food nut!!! She said it was delicious! I had vegetarian laksa with vege wontons. It was hot, spicy and tasty. Ive been looking for a casual place to go with my sons on regular basis and I have found it at Trang. Will definitely be back. Had a wonderful experience! Reccomend.
The worst unprofessional restaurant you even visit with bunch of old staff who don t even know what to do or how to cook or package the food, it is waste of time and money to go there
The best
Vibes
Food was great, service whilst very friendly was a little slack, we had to keep asking for things we had ordered, however the food helped to overlook that.
The food was ok, the salt and pepper tofu was good, BUT it took more than 2 hours for our full order to arrive at the table after ordering, with dishes arriving randomly and at lengthy intervals. One person had finished their main a full hour before the last persons laksa arrived and they had to eat it in a hurry with everyone freezing and keen to get home.
Great food and service
Nice place.visited took LAKSA parcel New taste for us .Fine and Delicious .
This place used to be nice but not anymore. Portion of the meals definitely a lot smaller. I also tried the pre-made fresh spring rolls but noodles was too chewy.
Ive been coming here for over 20yrs and the only things have changed is the decor but the dishes are still deliciously traditional style Vietnamese street food. Bloody awesome!
The food used to be really good but it isnt what it used to be. Used to go here frequently for a few years but at some point the quality just wasnt the same. Its still okay but its not great.
I asked for a dry noodle (not a soup) and it came completely raw. The noodles was crunching raw, it s like it came out of the box straight on my plate. Despite the fact the they charge $1 extra when I paid.
Extremely disappointed. 0/10 I have been visiting vietnamese restaurants across Queensland. Some are really good (In banyo, valley, cbd) As for this one, the portion they offered (even you opted for large size) are pathetically small Tiny little amount of flat rice noodle that you dont know why they can do this If you are worried about inflation, add one more option for the customer: Extra extra large for cutomers with a normal size of stomach Oh btw the waiter also forgot to serve bean sprout for the beef pho noodle
Always great and consistent vegetarian food
Disgusting pho. Worst one I have ever had. The meat is so stinky. I have to stop eating even I was very hungry and I love pho. Do not recommend!
We used to visit this restaurant and constantly introduce friends over. However, it seems that the quality of the food is deteriorating to a certain extent, last night three of us visited this restaurant. My soup was a bit soapy, it seems the bowl was not rinsed well after washing it. The Basel chicken was not cooked well. The service was still great. The waiter was brilliant.
Great seafood laksa, great service, great peice. highly recommend.
Very friendly service with a wide array of Vietnamese dishes on offer. We had the Crispy Vietnamese pancake, sizzling Mongolian lamb and Crispy skin duck with trang special. All the food was very nice. Parking: There is on street parking available but can get quite busy especially on weekends Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible by wheelchair.
Pork spare ribs for lunch, was ok
Staff are very friendly and service was great. The restaurant was very child friendly too. I had the Chicken Cashew Nuts and it was tasty. The only negative was the price - $50 for two meals with cans of coke.
Using raw pork for beef special pho! Is this a pork special or beef special? I used to love this place. However, the food quality is not good anymore. The portion is small. The glass noodles are soggy. The broth is very salty and I thought I was drinking sea water. My friend didn t have any soup since it was so salty. The thing only that increased is price. A tiny bowl of beef special pho costs 18 dollars. Very disappointed. Never visit again!
Prices have been increased too much. How can sweet and sour pork be $22 for takeaway? Lady that answered the phone couldn t really understand my order and waited till I came to pick up my order 15 minutes later to confirm and to start cooking. Service has gone downhill. Not sure if I will be back.
Great food great customer service
Best pho in Brisbane. I have been coming here every week because its so good. (Edit for typo)
O Dear not good
Coffees are fabulous too
Small portion, overpriced, outdated.
Nice prawn toast/ veg spring rolls and salt and pepper calamari
This would have to be the best Vietnamese restaurant in Brisbane, I drove from Redcliffe to the west end just to get a Beef Pho
Not the same Trang restaurant . Different owner.
I had one of the best Laksa dish. I chose the combination Laksa which was delicious . I highly recommend that dish.
Our 4th visit. The decor leaves a lot to be desired but we always had good food....until today. Same order of lemon chicken and fried rice. The chicken was tough, certainly not freshly cooked, And the rice was pretty awful too Our final visit
Congratulations to the house Raw beef and offal rice noodles vietnamese spring rolls
Fantastic food, great service, good value for money.
First of the service was extraordinary. I ordered a pho. The bowl I was eating with was very sticky somehow. Also, I can t pin point to exactly what caused it but the broth overall was below average for me. It lacks flavour, a bit too salty. My favourite ones have a fresh flavourful richness to it, though cooked for a long period I can taste how good the broths are. I was disappointed. Thanks for a great service tho.
Two things I liked about this restaurant was the home made Tofu decorated on top of a full bowl of noodles four people could eat and the service. The fried banana was old and the batter was chewy. $36 was too expensive for that. The place needs a good clean and update. Thank you.
Seemed to be a bit of a money grab. They have signs up saying every meal costs $2 more now (why not update the menus?) ok fine, then it says on the menu they charge 1.5% for transactions - but on the til it s 2.5% then they said they d do $3 corkage for wine, then charged $3.50, it just ended up being loads more on top. One dish was nice, the other was bland and had no sauce. Staff seemed nice but wouldn t go back.
Very nice and friendly service. I had ordered 2 dishes,. Once I saw the serving size of the first dish, they were very accomodating in cancelling the order for the 2nd dish. I had the Vietnamese beef noodle soup with extra vegetables. It was absolutely good.
I only tried fried rice and it was the blandest meal Ive ever had If you want a glass of water you have to go get it for yourself. There was no bottle so for every glass we had to walk back in. If you want a drink you have to go buy it from bottleshop next door. Overall not a great experience.
Have been wanting to take my sister here who recently moved to Brisbane as my past experiences were very good (although I have not been for a few years). Sadly, the food was really sloppy and not up to the standard I was used to. $45 for 2 chicken salads and 1 serve of veg spring rolls. Expected bbq/charcoal cooked chicken fillet but it was sloppy bits of meat with yucky sweet sauce and onion which seemed stewed or perhaps even microwaved.
Salty fish and diced chicken fried rice had no salty fish; Combination Chinese hot pot had no prawn; Deep fried sole was good; Special Beef Pho was good; But we were overcharged by $11.50 and they didnt email receipt as promised. Very dodgy.
Might have been good at one point but I wouldnt recommend them now. The satay chicken was inedible. Rice paper rolls were fine but the Vietnamese coffee was very short on condensed milk. Service was friendly but atmosphere was lacking. It was neither slick, nor did it have the hanging out in someones bustling kitchen vibe which can also be enjoyable. There was a few lazy flies hanging around and the general feel was dated and uninspired. It was ok, but theres plenty of excellent competition around now.
A firm favourite with our family, have visited many many times and the food is consistently great.
Was there around 2pm yesterday and waited for 20 minutes standing there waiting to enter restaurant. There were 4 empty tables and we werent acknowledged by the staff. When we finally asked the staff, we were told to wait outside. Another 20 minutes went by without being acknowledged. It is like they didnt want customers. During our time standing there, 4 other groups also queued but also left as they werent acknowledged either. We could also see existing customers who had sat down for over half an hour waiting for orders to be taken and looked like they were getting frustrated. What absolutely shocking service and the restaurant wasnt even full. Have been to this place in the past but will not be going again and will be telling friends (a lot of them) how bad the service is. This place has gone downhill - avoid avoid avoid!
This was $40. Disgustingly overpriced / stingy portion. Very upsetting. Waited 30 mins. I recommend if youre looking for asian, a little pñace called A Chinese Restaurant
Im sorry Trang we are going to have to break up. You used to be my favourite place to eat. I have been away for a couple of years and returned to Brisbane to find out Trang isnt what it used to be. Lukewarm noodle soup, old herbs, your rice paper rolls seem to have lost a quarter of there size a pretty disappointed meal.
Excellent soup
What happened! - We were told to check in at the front door. The QR code didnt work, and we were shown another on a staff members phone. Sign of bad things to come. - One meal clearly forgotten - All meals very average, overcooked noodles in bun cha, rice paper rolls with only lettuce, meat and noodles. Bun cha was missing ingredients. - Told no soda water as it is all flat and tastes disgusting - just say you ran out! -Young male host was really trying and was receptive to my comments. - When it came time to pay, we were told that there was no eftpos, (which they failed to tell us on arrival), we had to bank transfer our payment... - This place has big problems, and needs a serious overhaul. It is such a shame as this was a Brisbane Institution. With so much great Viet around Brisbane now, they will not fare well. I hope they can improve.
Visited on a weekday night and the restaurant was really busy. Ordered the herbal duck noodles, wanton noodles and congee. The congee was not bad and the herbal duck noodles were really good. Portion sizes were good and the broth was delicious as well. However, would not recommend the wanton noodles - not very authentic and tasted mediocre. Would visit again for the duck noodles!
A solid pho. Clean broth, good servings and great service.
Underwhelming an Understatement As recent West End locals Trang was described to us by some friends who lived in the area for over 15 years as West End Royalty My wife and I set off on our local eat out adventure tonight excited to try it Sadly a very ordinary experience. We were able to get a table quickly outside but left there for 10 mins no waiter no menu no water It was a sign of things to come No big deal we thought and I went and got the menus myself After another 10 minutes I went inside to ask for a waiter to come and take our order and bring some water to the table We order a main each and some rice 40 minutes later someone comes and ask if we ate waiting for our meals Yes we said and they went off to check and never came back. 10 minutes later and less than impressed I went inside and asked where our meals where . A few minutes later we were told the order had not been placed with the kitchen and it would be a couple of minutes They then brought out the rice which we had almost finished f by the time my wife s meal arrived and my meal another 5 mins later Sadly a very ordinary experience and our friends just messaged us and when we told them of our experience sad they hadn t been in a while Offered a $10 discount for the port experience m. Paid the full price will never be back which is a shame We love supporting the local area
I like the design and the setup of the restaurant, the staff were fantastic. The food lacked what I can only call an imagative aspect, for example the 3 colour bean drink only had 1 type no green layer or yellow just red beans. The taste was actually ok tho. The combination soup lacked the pho essentials it didnt smell like pho, the serving bowl was a simple glass bowl compared to the other standard soup bowls. The taste was not there at all. I actually think it should be 3.5 stars as for the other food I tried like the dims dims and spring rolls were actually quite tasty.
Food ok, service ok. Could do better on this competitive restaurant strip.
Totally flavourless rice paper rolls. Very disappointing.
Taste. Good sized portions. Great service. Highly recommended!
The best Laksa ever. Tried many other places and nothing beats the Laksa from Trang s Restaurant. Reason I keep coming back. Staff are always friendly as well.
Terrible, 20 years ago it was worm commenting. Now I wonder, where can I eat? Not Trangs!
Very good cold rolls and pho. Hottest fresh chilli I have ever had.
Food is ok but service is outstanding
Food was so good have been there a few times now and will continue in the future . Also inviting friends as the staff and atmosphere is very good ..
The food was bad, was waiting for a long time, the quantity of food was getting smaller and smaller, this bad restaurant would close soon, the quality was very down.
Amazing food!!! We really enjoyed dinner it was so good!!!
Went with 2 friends on Sunday 11th April for lunch not sure what was going on one of my friends had nearly finished her meal by the time the 2nd arrived I waited for mine then a young man came over and asked if we were waiting I informed him I hadnt received my chicken last said he would found out what was happening waited waited went and asked what is happening waited waited again finally went back to the young man to cancel my order as my friends had finished their lunch all he said was OK no apology I have dined here many times and thoroughly enjoyed it I got the feeling the young man didnt want to be there
A pleasant Asian restaurant with a very wide selection of dishes on offer. Food was good though not compellingly so. Pricing is quite reasonable. Service is good and unobtrusive.
I dine here often and it never disappoints great stuff and the food is always fresh and tasty
Use to eat here often, always order Crispy Skin Chicken. Ordered twice recently and on both occasions forgot the fish sauce. Fried rice was extremely dry as well. Fried Rice was very small on the tiniest bed of rice... for $16.50 wont be ordering again.
It suit Asian Taste, not so fancy but taste is extreme good. I am quite picky not going out too much. This one I highly recommended. You should go and try if you want simple authentic Asian Vietnamese/Chinese food.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Trangs, award winning, fast and excellent service, amazing authentic Vietnamese and Chinese food !
We use to eat at trangs a lot. But its either changed Management or something along those lines have occured. Trangs is no more... The food is not what is use to be and not worth the money they charge. All our dishes were dry and filled with too much cheap vegitables.. I can only eat so much cellery and carrot in one sitting. Also.. as we walked out I noticed on my bill they charged us corkage of $6 per head for 4 people which amounted to $12. It was just my wife and myself on our own sharing a bottle of wine. Yes they are sneaky at the register too. Try something down the road at Fishlane instead.. much better value and atmosphere.
Foods were great and the staff members were nice and tried their best to get through despite the busyness, very professional and friendly.
Great food and plenty of it!
A great little spot
Service was great, food arrived in a timely manner. Only reason for four star rating is the vegan soup I ordered was very bland and water might have been the base
Great food and service.
I ordered a short wonton soup for entree and the soup itself tasted fine, however the wontons were extremely hard and tasted old. For main, I ordered the Laksa with poached chicken and it was the blandest laksa I have ever tasted before, and the blandest meal I have ever eaten in an asian style restaurant. The chicken was so dry I had to swallow it with a sip of water which I had to ask for after ordering entree. The meals came out pretty quickly, but disappointed just as fast.
Best place to eat
Fresh produce quick eat and fast service
Most amazing laksa!! Definitely worth a visit. 2 years later the laksa is still amazing !!
Dined here for the first time today, it was delicious and the staff are incredibly friendly. I will definitely be coming back
Trangs provides excellent quality Vietnamese and Chinese dishes in the inner city area. My favourites here are the laksa, combination pho and the combination broken rice. The portion sizes are super generous and its definitely great value for money. The service is good, and they accept both bookings and walk-in customers. Parking within the complex is extremely limited but there is plenty of street parking further down Hardgrave Road and the side streets.
I never leave reviews but the food was so bland and watery I felt compelled. We ordered 5 dishes in total. The soups were horrible and the Laksa was the worst I have ever had. It lacked any spice and flavour. The stir fry was ok but nothing we couldn t have cooked at home. I would not recommend eating here
Great selection of items, very very reasonably priced. Great spot for a quick generous meal
Tasty vege laksa!
Decent feed
If I could ve given a -5 star I would ve, food was ok but customer service is so bad!! 1. We had a booking but the waiter decided to serve the customers behind us first. 2. Took us to a table and didn t even leave a number, the other two tables that sat down at the same time had both menus and table number plate. They are white and we are not. 3. Food took forever to come and it wasn t even busy. They didn t bring us bean sprouts, basil, chilli, lemon, sauces, all the other tables got them. 4. We said excuse me a couple of time to the same waiter but he ignored, I ended up yelling excuse me to get the bean sprouts and everything but by the time I ve put them in the soup, the soup was already cold, bean sprouts tasted raw. 5. Very poor portion for $14.95 Overall bad experience, would never go back again.
Food was very nice ! Parking was easy too
Prompt service on a busy late Friday night. Yummy food & friendly staff.
Always a good feed post drinking. Love the young coconut which is really refreshing.
Good food, very big serving sizes, good to share
Best pho around
Nice ambience to this place. The staff are nice, professional and polite. The food was amazing. I will come back
Our first time here afew weeks ago. Will definitely come back nice warm soup for rainy days.
Beautiful food, comfy and casual
Lovely food and lovely service
Great food and such friendly, caring staff!
Delicious Vietnamese food and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Note this restaurant is not BYO for beer but it is BYO for wine. They do have a wide selection of beer to choose from at the restaurant at a reasonable price. We had the combination soup and the spicy pork soup. Finished with Vietnamese drip coffee and banana fritter
Great little hidden gem! Very tasty Vietnamese food and wonderful family service. If you like hot, ask for hot chilli sauce for your dimsum!
It was a shame that after arriving, ordering takeaway and then paying, the order was then forgotten about as after returning to collect, they hadnt processed it - so I had to go away and come back later. They apologised
It is such a pity that the service and quality of Trang has dropped so much under new ownership. I have been going to this restaurant for 13 years, doubt I will go back again.
I love this place for Vietnamese because it s reasonably authentic and good service. I have been going to Trang s for years and it has changed management a number of times but the food has remained good but with some changes. There used to be some authentic dishes like the slimey mackerel crock pot which isn t now available, but overall the menu is still good. They do have one of my favourites which keeps me going there, I just hope they don t decide to change it
We ve been here many many times and have consistently enjoyed the experience. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is very generous and tasty for the price point. The coconut drinks are my latest addiction. A genuine Asian cuisine dining experience as a whole and is definitely an affordable meal for pretty much everyone.
Posting this review from my partners account whom was happy with her first experience. HOWEVER I was not, was served cold tea that I had to ask for. Schezuan chicken had no spice and little to none Schezuan flavour (I was reccomended this dish) service is subpar when busy and I got little to none traditional flavours or service, I was given a fork and a spoon when I prefer chopsticks and wasnt even presented the option in a traditional eat street restaurant since the 90s. I feel like I received a subpar derogatory service almost.. Manager was good and the partner had a good experience so 3 stars however this is also the only review I have ever left and am a tremendous fanatic of food, especially oriental Asian cuisines and this was no wonder. If I got this place on a bad night I would like to hear from other Google users if thats the case thanks and goodluck
Laksa is yum. Other dishes average
Good Vietnamese for Brisbane. Hit the spot.
Wonderful friendly staff Delicious food Fantastic authentic vietnamese beer Cool outside seating Great experience lovely
best pho in brisbane
This family owned restaurant is consistently good. It has been here for so many years and the menu is well versed in Vietnamese dishes. A great stop in west end and you can often get a table at the last minute. The snapper and tofu dishes are great as well as the noodle soups.
Beautiful food , great service its worth every penny to dine here . Will be back for sure
Great food
