I wasnt impressed. I wanted to dine in and they got my order to take out. The food was pricy for 3 out of 10 for sushi rating. Took long for a soup, three piece sash and a cali roll. No one was ahead of me. I was visiting west k but I should have went to my sushi place in Kelowna. The sushi tasted not great and was made messy avocado wasnt soft. Toro looked like reg tuna.

Awesome vibe, great service, yummy food - all good here. We were greeted with a pair of super friendly staff. My girl loved her kimchi fried rice and I split a yummy sumo sushi combo with my other girl. My wife had a craving for yakisoba and she loved it. Highly recommend this place for a lovely dinner. Ordered from DoorDash. (Also I live 30 mins out of town) my husband want to pick up. The restaurant forgot one whole sushi roll, charged me for a large wonton soup but only gave me a small and I asked for noodles on the side for both noodle soups and we ended up just getting know noodles at all. Talked to the manager who said they live out our way and would bring it out after her shift. Which personally I didn t want to do as that doesn t help me right now. After I said no she started getting snippy and was coming off very rude saying I m trying to fix this which yes I understand but I really don t want to wait until after your shift to get the rest of my order which should have been in the box the first time. At the end of the day I got charged $98 but the restaurant only gave me $81 of my order and we also have no noodles for our soup. Won t ever be ordering from there again if that is how they decide to run their place and have rude people dealing with customers.

I dine here with my coworkers once a month, as we work very close to this location. The service has consistently been outstanding. Amanda, in particular, always greets us with a smile, regardless of how busy she is. Her service is exceptional every time.

It s just as bad with a new boss! And it s extremely bad! Around 6:45 on a Friday night, the store was still half empty. The six of us sat down for about 10 minutes and waved to the waiters to help us take orders. Either they pretended not to see it or they pretended to be busy! This kind of restaurant is extremely disgusting!

Wow! If you re a fan of Japanese cuisine, you need to check this place out! The noodle was rich and comforting, and I m still dreaming about their tempura so crispy and light! Just picked up our favorite thing. The chicken salad rolls, have had them many times before and always great. These were so disappointing. Falling apart, way over filled, minimal flavor on the chicken. And the peanut dipping sauce has gone down hill. It will be awhile till we go back again.

I recently had an exceptional dining experience with a perfect blend of traditional and modern Japanese decor. The sushi is outstanding, with fresh, melt-in-your-mouth nigiri and sashimi. The Omakase tasting menu is a must-try, showcasing a variety of exquisite flavors. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. I will definitely come back again!

The red curry with prawns is delicious. Well, all the food is excellent. The service is prompt and usually friendly. The only thing I d recommend changing is the pealing seats and give the area surrounding the tables a good clean. I m a fan of the food and the West K location.

Great food, just as good as the location on the other side of the bridge along the highway. Just went for an early Mothers Day dinner and got a ton of food, and they brought it out in a timely manner. Nothing to complain about other than my grandpa was waiting a bit to get a refill on his water. However, there was a huge rush shortly after we had our orders taken so its understandable that it was busy. Id eat there again. I recommend the Sunshine Roll, a delicious blend of sweet and spicy. Parking: Tons of parking space, all free. There is some Tesla chargers and I believe theres other EV chargers as well, but those you still have to pay for with their related services.

We don t have a whole lot of options for food in west Kelowna but I ve been sleeping on this restaurant for far too long! Amazing portions for the prices, our food came out steaming (as you can see) and incredibly flavourful, their in house smoked salmon is delicious and fresh. I will definitely be back! Also, was one of the only places open on Boxing Day that wasn t fast food! We ordered; beef hot plate - portion was pretty big, it came with a big bowl of rice aswell 10/10 Salad rolls to start - they were massive! I could have just eaten those alone.. so yummy 10/10 Diamond roll - the cold smoked salmon was sooo good I was pulling it out of the roll to eat 11/10 Sunomono salad - very refreshing and not too overpowering 10/10

Unfortunately this location has gone downhill. Staff are always friendly, food is average and the atmosphere isn t great. My specific complaints with the atmosphere is some of the cleaning/general condition of things. For example, The glass globe lights hanging from above are caked in dust. As far as food goes, it s ok. But it should be criminal to have a California roll on the menu and make customers choose either cucumber OR avocado. Location is convienent for a lot of folks on the west side, but there are better options if you re able to go a bit further.

Literally the best Japanese/Vietnamese food in the city. So fresh, really great portions, and it was still hot when it was delivered (which is so rare with take out). The staff is great and the service is really fast when we eat in/take out. Yamato is such a great option for a quick, yummy meal for the whole family.

I had pho soup the other day. First time here and freaking amazing!

Order dinner from their website for Xmas eve when I went to pick it up at 7pm and the restaurant was closed for the whole day so no food on Christmas Eve. Even worse when I checked my credit card they charged me.they try and say I ordered from a third party untrue when I fought the charge with my credit card company Yamamoto lost. Don t give them your credit card#

Our server was knowledgeable and confident in what was vegan and what wasn t!! Made us feel secure and like we could trust her. Even found some new items that we could enjoy that we previously thought contained milk/egg! Thank you!

A great casual sushi spot in a convenient location off of hiway 97. My dad and I stopped in for dinner and were really impressed with the quality of sushi from a casual spot. Our server was friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Id highly recommend this little value spot.

The service was absolutely wonderful, and the food was so delicious and fresh. Will absolutely be going again.

Order for pickup. Maybe it was because I ordered right before they closed but everything tasted fishy. Even the pad Thai that had no fish in it. Have a stomachache now and found a hair in my veggie curry. I guess that happens sometimes, but it was the trifecta in a single order.

I am VERY picky about sushi and have tried every sushi place in the valley. Yamato West Kelowna is my favourite. They have very high quality Atlantic salmon and are always accommodating of my requests. Fast service and fresh, delicious sushi.

I m born and raised on the coast and struggle to find any decent sushi in the Okanagan. I usually go to blue tail but live just by this location. I stopped in today for the first time and was very happy with what I got. Nothing tasted fishy and everything was hot and fresh. Will definitely go back!

Second time going here. Complained about the Tuna Sashimi tasting like water. Was told its served fresh everyday. Not!!. I can taste the difference between thawed from flash dozen or served the day after. Wont be going back.. Second time left unsatisfied.

The food and prices were good but the service could have been better. Staff seemed like they did not want to be there and people were waiting at the entrance for a long time before someone helped them. Minus the service, probably one of the better sushi places in town.

This past week I have been struck with Covid, I have recently been able to taste anything and decided to order my favorite meal, red curry pad Thai, special instructions were NO TOFU what I received was not what I ordered, a couple of chopped veggies in watery sauce and full of an excessive amount of large chunks of tofu and bay leaves . I went to Yamato the other day and had an amazing experience. Anna was our server and she did an amazing job. She was very friendly and kind and our whole order was correct. The sushi also tasted fantastic!! I definitely will be returning:)

We just moved here from Vancouver 2 weeks ago and where we lived had some of the best sushi places. We really didn t think we would find a favourite sushi place here so fast so we were pleasantly surprised when we ate at Yamato and loved everything . All the sushi was fresh and so delicious and the staff was friendly. Really enjoyed the red dynamite roll.

I think the food is WAY OVER PRICED. NOT impressed at all. Actually disappointed When I saw the bill in comparison to the amount of food.

They have amazing staff in house and also their delivery drivers are great! The food is yummmm no matter what you pick you will be a very happy customer !

Used to go here all the time but stopped, we recently came again and the curry pad thai was the grossest and driest meal we have ever eaten, no sauce, no flavour, chicken was extremely dry, we will never eat here again

Unfortunately I cant tell you how the food was I ordered it two hours ago and it still has not arrived longest delivery times ever Edit as I cannot reply to your comment. Food was great however the driver from your delivery company was there and even called us to apologize for our wait as apparently our order was made incorrectly. Which is totally fine and we appreciate it being remade to be sent out correctly. However this error should have been owned up to and not blamed on the delivery service who called me twice once to apologize and once to confirm we got our order. The tracker your website uses also confined him being there.

The food is pretty good even though the sashimi size varies alot. The service also varies from extremely good to just ok...never bad, just ok as was the service on my last visit. My wife and I make a point of going every 3 weeks as that coincides with my days off so I have lots of experience with the service there. I would recommend dining here.

Great place to eat and convenient location for me. My girlfriend and I have eaten here a few times, both dine-in and take out. Food was very yummy and well packed on the take out, the only downside is my partner loves the Wor Wonton and they never seem to keep their structure like dining in. Not a large issue, as they still taste great!

Has really gone downhill! Their Pad Thai has been a favourite of mine for years but the last couple of times it was over $18 before tip, tasteless, and half the portion of what youd get at Pick Thai downtown for just under $15.

Ordered war wonton and sushi tonight. Wonton broth has changed and no flavour. We had been to this restaurant dozens of times and the War wonton was a favourite, changed there recipe I guess. Sushi was just Ok, disappointing.

The sushi here is actually quite delicious but their operating hours are inconsistent. The last 3 of 5 times we tried coming for dinner this location has been closed early (closed at 7pm when hours advertised as 8pm) without notice or hours update online. We dont live nearby so it has been very disappointing the last times we tried to eat, here expecting them to be open as per online.

Good experience at Yamato. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have quite a broad menu with lots available. Id say everything is done quite well. I feel they dont specialize in any area for example ramen or sushi, but they are still done and are priced well too. The chicken ramen was a clear broth and had quality vegatables and lots of chicken which was good too.

My go to place for Japanese and Asian food. Definitely not purely Japanese, you can find Indian dishes, Chinese Dishes AND Southeast Asia dishes here that all are spectacular. My favorite so far is the Dragonagi Roll, never has it disappointed me. Incredibly fresh ingredients and great service. It is primarily a Japanese cuisine restaurant but I am happy to see they have other cuisines available as Sushi isnt enjoyed by everyone so it enables you to take people here and everyone find something theyll enjoy. My grandfather who is a very old fashion person and has NEVER had Japanese cuisine loved his Dragonagi roll and even took some food home to my grandmother, truly a enjoyable experience. People who do not give this location a great review are either the competition being jealous or have their standards absurdly high. Im sorry its not Vancouver where you get 90 different Sushi restaurants on your sodding porch but here in Kelowna nothing beats this place in my honest opinion.

The place is clean and spacious, the service is friendly, the food quality is good, Vietnamese beef noodle soup, the soup is light, the portion is large, there is a lot of beef, the food is not hard or woody, Yangzhou fried rice is not salty, the taste is just right, delicious, the beef udon is good, The soup is tasty enough, the Japanese fried dumplings and sushi are okay, the price is affordable, and you will be full.

This is an all round great place. The food was fabulous! and the atmosphere was welcoming. We gathered as a family and drank and ate and talked. Truly wonderful!

My wife and I visited Yamato a few times while on our trip through BC in August. We have family who lives nearby and have had the sushi there a couple years ago and it was fantastic. Unfortunately this year, on our second trip there in as many days, they ran out of rice. I ll give the person in charge of ordering, 1 out of 5 stars, but can t take away from the wonderful sushi Yamato makes. Hopefully they don t run out of rice on our next visit

This use to be my favourite place until I brought home my pad Thai take out and found a huge chunk of plastic rolled up in my noodles. Big enough to be a chocking hazard. Terrible. Have been there twice, the first time sushi tasted like it was a day old, was not very impressed. The second time food never came, sat for an hour then got up and asked to cancel the order and left hungry. Will not be giving them another try, very unimpressed.

The food here is awesome. Recommend the bangkok signature if you love shrimp and coconut curry. Also there is a menu for bubble teas that most people dont know about ! Definitely stop in for a dinner / lunch if you can.

Yamato (both West K and Kelowna) has been our go to for quite a few years. The food is generally pretty good and quite reasonably priced. Unfortunately our experience at the \west Kelowna location this week left us quite disappointed - it was very crowded likely being a contributing factor. The service was great, cheerful competent waitperson, but food just OK. What I really want to say about the place though is the state of cleanliness, the floors and furniture ok but the ceiling not so much. Looks like cooking oil covered light fixture in the ceiling, dust covered mechanical services and so on. Certainly takes the edge off of the experience.

Overpriced for what it was. Kids were bored very quickly.

The fish while good it isnt 100% fresh or the highest quality. Most wont notice but if you love sushi, may end up returning a dish.
