We ordered delivery for the 4th time and this time was very disappointing. We ordered mushrooms on toast and they actually put the mushrooms on the soggy bread instead of packing it in separate containers. We also ordered calamari and they put the sauce on the calamari and not in separate containers. Like wth? Everything was so soggy. $19 for the soggy toast with barely any mushroom sauce and $19 for soggy calamari. Nearly $50 Not impressed at ALL

What a great little find, you will not be disappointed. The service was fun and efficient. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. Most importantly we really enjoyed the pizzas and pastas.

My chicken scallopini wasnt great. Chicken was very dried out, very little sauce and egg noodles were bland and over-cooked. I will be back, but would never order this item again.

Staff were great and the atmosphere was nice but could do with removing the TVs to complete the evening vibe. Most people were sitting facing away from the TV as its the type of place you go for a drink, food and convo instead watching sport. We ordered three starters to share between the table and they were all good especially the focaccia. We ordered my 2 year old the childrens cream pasta which was awful. It was a bland sauce and no flavour and no veg or content within the sauce. The staff were great and offered to change it but we decided we would give our food when it arrived. The meatballs and spaghetti were great. I had the beef pasta dish which was gorgeous for the first few mouthfuls and then realised it was just salt I was tasting. Same with the pizza we ordered and the tomato sauce on the Italian sausage lasagna was quite acidic and bland compared to traditional Italian sauces made of pasata. If you like cocktails and wine then great. I loved the gin/limoncelo and the elderflower cocktail. The peach and pale beers were also light and refreshing. Im harsh on the food but I am comparing this to my travels and living in the EU where Italian food is very different!

Wonderful eating experience in general. Excellent pasta dish and probably best burger Ive had in all of Kelowna. To top it off, the cappucino was perfectly made, but the choice of beans could be better. It might have been the water, since their tap water isnt filtered. The hostess and waitress were welcoming and improved the pleasurable experience of our meal. Im going back to try the steak.

Delicious fresh bread and pasta! We all ordered something different so we tried a variety of things. My husband ordered the lasagna with italian sausage made in house. It was amazing. Only thing to note is it will take up to 30 minutes to make but we ordered appetizers so it was ok. They brought out my sons spaghetti within 10 mins of ordering the food which was great aa kids can get antsy with long waits. Overall our experience was great and will come again!

Stopped in and grabbed 2 different desserts to go. Didnt have to wait long and was served by a nice server. Desserts were delicious

I ve ordered delivery before and I was very happy with their food. Tonight was our first time eating in. Great room and atmosphere and awesome service. Their mushroom toast (I don t even really like mushrooms at all) was incredible. We ordered 4 pasta dishes and some other starters - everything was awesome. I d have to say that was the best meal I ve had in West Kelowna hands down. I highly recommend this spot!

I got the carbonara, it was served al dente, despite me not asking for that. Good thing I like al dente! But beware its a good amount of noodles, and it can be a bit of a workout for your jaw.

My server (Olivia) was one of the kindest humans you could ever come across. She made me feel special, and made my experience quite enjoyable. Not only was service fantastic, but my meal and dessert were phenomenal. This place is doing something right. It was so refreshing to see service industry staff staking pride in what they do and enjoying their work environment. Music was set just right, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Will for sure be going back time and time again.

Kent is the best!

Was recommended this restaurant as a good date spot so thats what I did. We had drinks and we each had a salad. We had a Ceasar Salad and the Garden Salad. Garden Salad was phenomenal. My only complaint was that they are inconsistent with cocktails. Ordered 2 Double Amaretto Sours and they tasted drastically different. Overall it was a great date night and a great dinner.

Il Mercato Social kitchen made dinner out feel like a special occasion. The menu states that the chefs are proud scratch cooks and the food reflects this. I had the Bolognese with gluten free pasta. So glad to see several gluten free options on the menu. My husband had the Rigatoni carbonara style. There are two portion options on each pasta and the smaller portion was just fine for both of us. The food was delicious and the service was great. We wished the Carbonara style pasta had been a true carbonara. Dietary restrictions: Several gluten free options on the menu

Long wait for a meal, but the food was very good.

Something was wrong with the food we were all ill within 1 hour of eating. Had good experiences in the past but last night will be our last time there horrible service on top of sub par food!

It was me and my boyfriend s first time in Il Mercato, it was such a relaxing experience. Our waitress was Jocelyn and she was really doing a good job making sure that we are enjoying our food! Thank you so much Jocelyn! We ordered Tiramisu (15/10!!!), seafood pasta and seafood risotto, and for dinks a beer and espresso martini!. I m not a fan of sweets but i really love the tiramisu!

I recently visited Il Mercato Social Kitchen for the first time, and unfortunately, my experience was not up to par. I ordered a Caesar salad and a Calabrese Pizza. The Caesar salad was decent, but the Calabrese Pizza was a major letdown. It was drenched in pizza sauce to the point where thats all I could taste, masking the flavors of the toppings and the crust. It was quite disappointing. On top of that, the service was notably slow, adding to the overall frustration of the meal. Considering these factors, I dont see myself returning to Il Mercato Social Kitchen in the future.

Good food

The welcome and atmosphere are very good. The pasta dishes are good (although specifying which sauces are spicy should be mandatory). The prosecco wasnt great. And the desserts were a disaster. The tiramisu, in particular, which was the worst I have eaten in my life.

This food was amazing!! Went for happy hour and got a great deal. Everything (calamari, meatballs, arancini, Caesar salad, and pizza) were delicious!

The place is clean, well organized, lots of variety. Wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Calamari was very good 4/5 Read reviews and raved about the meatballs and spaghetti. It was bland, lacked flavour. No matter how much parm and black pepper can save that dish. So much hype and was just a disappointment Food

Tried three times to call and place an order for pick up. On the third try it rang once and sent me to voicemail. It might be good, was really excited to try, but that wont be happening now. Guess it cant be that good.

Another fine meal! Six of us came by this afternoon and ordered the share size spaghetti/meatballs, a couple pizzas and Cesar salad which was Il Mercato s typical excellence. The photo was one of the two Tiramisu desserts we shared. (Daughter Cassidy in the photo :)) Yum yum!!!

Things we liked: The atmosphere was very calm and quiet since we went there around 5 PM. All staff members we interacted with were very polite and quick in their service. Ample parking available. My true rating for food here is 4.5 stars, giving 4 stars here because no option to give 4.5. Thoroughly enjoyed the Italian sausage lasagna and the calamari appetizer, excellently made dishes. Ordered a $10 mascarpone cheesecake for dessert, and when the server delivered it he said that it was on them!! It was a very pleasant surprise, and we were very thankful for that. Things we didn t like: I wish the seafood tagliatelle we ordered had more flavour though. Also, we asked the server to put no mussels in the seafood tagliatelle, but that instruction got ignored and mussels were there. Further, we wish the portion sizes of the lasagna and the calamari appetizer had been a bit bigger. Recommended? Yes! Will we visit again? Yes!

Really good food and nice place. The waiter was very friendly. Only flaw was the tiramisu, which is far from being traditional.

First time and last time.It was like being at a Chucky E Cheese. A group with 5 screaming kids running around and the parents (use the word parents lightly) encouraging it. The manager should have spoke to them and not served anything until the kids were taken out to the car. They ruined dinner for at least 6 tables. Its too bad because the food was pretty good but we wont be back.

Great, friendly staff and nice glass decanter of water left after serving us water. Non- alcoholic drinks we had included Italian soda with cream which is a creamsicle style taste (one flavour only). Also San Pellegrino canned sodas. The server was awesome and attentive without being intrusive. We came for the pizza night and all got pizza. Everyone commented that theirs was really good! We planned the next outing either for another pizza night on Sunday or a pasta night on a Monday. Vegetarian options: Many of the pizza options we looked at tonight were vegetarian, with or without cheese depending on your restriction. We didn t try other options tonight but menu appeared to have many options Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free crusts which were another $3.50 and the gluten free pizza is smaller than the regular pizzas however they were very good. It s a very thin crust so the edges are quite thin and hard but the rest of the pizza was very good! Parking: We were there on Sunday evening and parking was no problem. It s a small strip mall so there could be more congestion in the work week at meal times. There is a handicapped parking stall just out front of the entrance.

I went to this restaurant with some friends, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere, food, and service was all fantastic! The restaurant was in pristine condition. Our server was really friendly and continually came to our table to make sure we had all we needed, including enough water. I got the Tagliatelle with House Meatballs meal, which I would definitely recommend. It was delicious. I got the shared meal where I could share the pasta with one other person, but the portion size was big enough to leave a full portion left over at the end! It would definitely be possible to split this shared meal with 3 people. Going with the shared meal is definitely the way to go to get the best value. When we left the restaurant, our server and a couple other staff thanked us for coming on our way out. It was small gesture, but it really added to the whole experience. I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be back myself soon!

I recently moved to west Kelowna and have been eyeing up this restaurant every day. I m so happy I finally made it there. The waitstaff were amazing, attentive, helpful and extremely nice. The food was to die for. The pizza is thin crust and tasted like it would in Italy. The carbonara pasta was rich and creamy, exactly how I imagined it. From the wine to the decor this little restaurant was a delight to be at. They were extremely sweet, since it was our first visit they gave us a piece of tiramisu cake to top of the perfect evening! I will definitely be recommending Mercato Social Kitchen to others!

We took advantage of their pasta Monday special. Absolutely outstanding. The portion size was more than adequate; for me there will be lunch tomorrow. Heather was our server. She was very pleasant and accommodating. Heather made for a really pleasant dine in experience. Well be back for another pasta Monday.

Went there on a whim for a family dinner, on the 3rd December 2022. Everything was amazing and could not be faulted. The Calamari was delicious and the osso bucco for a main is perfect for a winters night, any night really. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially the home made pastas and pizzas. Also the server and owner were extremely friendly and grateful for everyone who came to dine here. Seeya in a few weeks IL Mercato.

Celebrated our 18 year anniversary tonight at Il Mercato and everything was fantastic. Tried a few different dishes amongst the table and the fresh-made pastas, calamari and muscles were rich and delicious!! Luke was our server and was attentive, fun and arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be at the table when we arrived to help celebrate our 18th! Cheers to the Il Mercato team!

Went for supper. Caesar salad was cold, crispy and delicious. Ordered Italian sausage pizza. Thinking it would have thin sliced sausage topping, NOT. Came with a small amount of pea sized crumbles. Tried picking up first piece, the crust was about 1/8 thick, and it was soft and drooped, spilling round crumbles onto the plate, table, and floor. Had to roll remaining pieces into a taco shape to eat. Tasty but Way to much work.

10/10 experience. I cannot fathom how amazing the staff and food there is! Went for the first time today and they were SO happy we were there. Welcoming environment, great vibes and even better food!!!

What a wonderful experience! As a retired executive chef, I could go into a long drawn out explanation of taste, textures, and presentation. But I wont. Food was great! Service was excellent. The focaccia loaf was outstanding. The chicken parm and tagliatelle was cooked perfectly. Hubs had the lamb and polenta. Yum! We were looking for a good Italian restaurant in West Kelowna, we were not disappointed. Reminded me of cooking in Italy again! Well done Il Mercato

Went to iL Mercato Social Kitchen recently to celebrate two family events. On the recommendation of the server, I ordered the lasagna with Italian sausage. It was an excellent. The other members of our group also enjoyed their selections. Server was excellent!! Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and provided great customer service. To our surprise, and enjoyment, the server, and I think it was the manager who brought us two complimentary deserts to share in recognition of the 97th birthday and wedding anniversary of members of our party. Highly recommend iL Mercato in West Kelowna. If you dont live there it is worth the drive. GN

My husband and I had his birthday dinner on March 23/23. The food was good as well as the wine. The issue was he is a status native, does not pay any taxes on food, only WFN tax on alcohol. The first bill we received was charging us GST, PST and 10% liquor tax even though he presented his status card. We complained and the second bill was still incorrectly charging us 10% liquor tax. The manager corrected this and gave us a free dessert but it was stressful ending to what was supposed to be a happy birthday dinner. We will not return to dine at this establishment again.

Love having Il Mercato in our neighbourhood, good ambiance and patio area, although this most recent experience we did delivery instead of dine in. Decent food, most people can find something they like here. My husband had the lasagna which was really good, my dish was underwhelming flavour wise. But that can all come down to personal preference, so I can understand there is some objectivity there. But paying $28.00 for a pasta that is barely a portion size of a cell phone is a bit hard to take. I understand the costs of everything have gone up, but sadly, wish we had saved our $28 and gone to a fine dining experience or just made pasta at home. Again, I wish them well, and I really enjoy having them in our neighbourhood! But at these costs (and not even being able to get a lunch out of it after, and no garlic bread included), I don t think we will be dining out much anymore.

Brian and I recently moved to West Kelowna and found El Mercato on Google. The staff are very welcoming and very efficient. The food is excellent with a variety of daily specials you will love. If the owners are in the building they will always stop to say hello! Dietary restrictions: El Mercado has a menu for all dietary restrictions. Parking: The location is perfect, plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: You will find wheelchair access right in front of the restaurant.

We were at the restaurant for dinner on June 10. Food was delicious but what made the evening so memorable was our waiter LUKE. This was our second visit in the past two years and LUKE fortunately was our waiter the first time also. He is definitely a KEEPER and we hope an INSPIRATION to other wait staff. Very disappointed in our service and the food. We waited over an hour and a half for our main course. We ordered the Fresh Burrata and tomato to start. It came on soggy bread and had no flavour. We ve been coming to this restaurant for the past few summers and have enjoyed it. After this experience we will definitely not be back and would not recommend it.

From the moment we stepped in, the staff treated us with attention and care. The meatballs are my favourite now! They were a moist and yummy with wonderful tomatoes sauce. We also had the charcuterie board and pizza. Charcuterie was a delightful array of pickled cauliflower, mushrooms, and pickles and all the prosciutto and meat you could want. The pizza is just the way it is in Italy. .. a thin crust with fresh and delicious toppings. We finished off with a light and fluffy tiramisu. The chef , Tristan is so friendly. He came out to chat with us. We found out he studied in Italy. No wonder the food is so top notch! Thank you for a Beautiful meal!

Probably the worst food Ive seen at a restaurant in a long time. Extremely bland. Minimal toppings for pizza, the pizza crust came burnt, the meatballs had zero flavor and dry as a popcorn fart. Everyones food that came looked like it was put together by toddlers at grabdmas house. Way way way overpriced for the quality of food. Ambience is also nill. I do not recommend here and will not return. The greeter at the door was really great though.

Luke was such an amazing server we had to come back for a second time. He served us again and was nothing but amazing! He is such a kind person and a great server! He treats all his tables like gold and has the most positive attitude.

Our table of 3 decided on the Fresh Burrata + Tomato dish from the sociale list, when it arrived at the table we were flabbergasted at the portion, literally one piece of bread for $17. This is a social dish if youre sharing with an ant. The entrees were fine, bland, nothing to write home about.

A local favourite that doesnt disappoint. Food & service are impeccable. The place can get noisy when busy (high ceilings, no noise deflection...) - but it doesnt detract from the food! Start with Antipasto Board - youre welcome.

Updated - Sep 26: We returned for a follow-up dinner and had a very positive experience, resulting in updated scores. For an appetizer, we shared an order of mushrooms on toast. This was very flavourfull and loaded with mushrooms. It was followed by a dinner for 2 called Osso Bucco, consisting of salad, veal shank, wild mushroom risotto and vegetables and then a shared slice of tiramisu for desert. The meat was tender, tasty and the overall portion generous. The Italian full-bodied red house wine was a good pairing. The restaurant was quite busy for a Tuesday evening & made for a warm, pleasant atmosphere. This was a stark and thankful contrast to our previous visit. ******************************* My wife and I dined here for our first time, ordering a seafood pasta and a beef pasta. The atmosphere was nice, service friendly and portion sizes perfect. The only disappointment was that the food was not very tasty (a little bland) and the pasta a little too firm for our liking. In fairness to the restaurant, they offered to bring us a new plate/sauce and there was a new trainee in the kitchen.

This was the first restaurant we tried when moving out to west Kelowna, and it didn t disappoint. We ve gone back countless time because the food is quality and we ve brought so many of our friends and family!

Food was great but the service was nothing special. We very much felt like we were left as our plates never got cleared, no one asked how our meal was, no kids table ware. It wasn t busy at all, and there was no effort to make us feel taken care of. Sorry but we won t be back anytime soon.

Had the best experience dining here on Oct 3! The waitress was super knowledgeable about the menu and which wines to pair with each meal. She was very attentive and topped up our wine and water many times throughout dinner. She also found out it was my birthday and delivered a delish tiramisu to our table. We were shocked when she told us it was only her second day! Amazing service.

Probably the best restaurant in the Valley. Whether you dine in and enjoy the great atmosphere, the food and service will not disappoint. And take out is just as amazing. Had to wait about 45min for skip to deliver. El Mercato threw in a piece of tiramisu for the wait. Again amazing and well work the wait. Thanks guys

So good!!! They make all their own pasta and pizza fresh- and the Italian sausage in the meatballs is locally sourced. We had the burrata pizza to start, then radicchio salad, and shared the spaghetti and meatballs- everything was really yummy! Beautiful bottle of local Mt. Boucherie wine to share and a cozy booth to sit in- service was amazing too. Definitely recommend! Also good value with nice portion sizes

My husband and I had a lovely date night here about a month ago. The food & service were incredible and I have been thinking about it ever since. Can t wait to go back for some more tiramisu!! If you re in the area and craving Italian - definitely go!!

One of our favorite places. We return regularly. Great pasta dishes and delicious pizzas from their oven.

Unfortunately we were cold throughout our lovely meal. We asked if they could turn up the heat and they said that they had, but we were still cold. Several other guests were wearing their coats, so they must have been cold too.

Awesome food and great atmosphere

Bland pasta. Food takes a while and waiters just yapped a lot. I had enough time to relive myself not once, not twice, but three times while waiting for my food. If you ask me, that s two times too many. Although I spent a lot of time in those bathrooms alone it was very tranquil in there, in fact I would go as far as saying calming. As I sat there taking care of business I enjoyed the scenery of the washroom. I enjoyed spending most of my dining experience in there. There s just something about those bathrooms, even when my food did arrive, I would sneak the food back there and enjoy in those clean, calm, exquisite washrooms while also enjoying the dry old pasta noodles I would slowly slip out of my pocket while in the stall. The little blonde host seems like a lot to manage though, she couldn t shut that trap and her face was very uncanny valley and off putting. Didn t like those glasses either.

The appie Meatballs with Marinara sauce. As always killer good. I had the salad which was average. They ran out of the greens for the salad so we substituted. There were suppose to be Pecans in the salad and there were. 5 to be exact. My husband had the Lasagna and he really enjoyed it. Good service. Firvthe most part very good food. Dietary restrictions: Salads, and several other dishes were specifically vegetarian. Parking: Typically some parking available.

Just came for takeout but atmosphere pleasant and thinking about dining in another time Parking: In mini mall. No issue with parking.

Nice space in West Kelowna. Friendly staff. Alright Arancini. Mushroom ravioli was quite good. Was odd that no one picked the phone up when I called over a number of times over a period of time to make a pickup order and check for availability of items. Drove there instead and restaurant was very quiet at the time so it made no sense that someone couldnt pick up the phone with lots of staff.

Food is good, expensive though.

A little out of the way hidden gem in a strip mall in West kelowna. We managed to get in without a reservation. Busy little spot that yells you how popular it is. The chef is certainly second to none. Food is homemade fresh and delicious. The pasta is to die for. Im sure there is some old little Italian grandma in the back yelling at them to put more food on the plate. The portions are very generous. I had the mushroom ravioli and my husband had the veal paired with recommended wine. Our server was knowledgeable in wine and food. Our dessert was tiramisu with coffee. A perfect ending. They gave us our dessert for free for our first time there. I would highly recommend. If and even we are back in Kelowna we will visit again.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and it was delicious! My husband started with Caesar Salad & I had the Italian Garden Greens which was delicious. Next time we go here Im going to get the larger size & add a protein. The pasta is all made in house & so good!

Me and my other half tried this place for the first time last night. I was no where near dressed for the occasion, but we were still welcomed with warmth. The staff are great, the food was amazing, the restaurant is visually appealing and we did not have to wait long, the service was great. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend for a date night. They even threw in a complimentary tiramisu as it was our first time, and The Tuscan Beef Peppardelle was...

I called the restaurant at 2pm on Thanksgiving Sunday asking for a reservation for 35 for that same night. Julia, the owner, graciously accepted my outrageous offer. Thirteen 12 year old boys and 22 equally loud adults!! The food was absolutely fantastic. We all ordered pasta. The portions are very generous. The pasta is all made fresh & in house. We started with warm home/restaurant made focaccia bread and a beautiful Caesar salad. The service was out of this world! The staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. I totally recommend this restaurant for any occasion. I noticed a few tables of families, a couple of date nights & a few girls night out. I cannot thank Julia & her staff enough for accommodating us. Great food and great service!

I love this place! Great staff, lovely and welcoming. Kitchen is awesome and extremely delicious! The only thing that Im was missing is a good Italian espresso! Hope the espresso machine is getting fixed soon! Vegetarian options: They have a few really delicious dishes on the menu. Variety is great. We are going there a lot.

Just had a wonderful meal here. We chose the preset meal for $44.50 accompanied by a bottle of the volcanic hills Gerwatztriminer. The meal was exemplary and the service wonderful. The wine was 50% off . All in all - bloody awesome

Atmosphere was not super loud, loved out server she was very pleasant and food was delicious and hot. (Also get the pasta they are homemade!)

I love the atmosphere but the food was sub par (especially considering the price). My chicken parm was dried out and the pasta noodles were all stuck together in one stuck together lump. My friends clam dish had closed clams? which means they either werent cooked through or gone bad Nope from me

I dont think there is anything particularly special about this restaurant. Most of the food was pretty good and the service was good. My friends margarita pizza was mostly crust, some sauce, and like two little pieces of basil which was disappointing. My mums veal cutlet was overcooked. I will likely try it again in the future because it could have been what I ordered but I was left a little disappointed with the food.

This place is delicious, our go to for Italian dinner out (especially on Mondays for the pasta deal!)
