Fantastic atmosphere and unique interior decor. Picturesque. Wine tastering is $17.5 but if you buy a bottle it's the deducted from the price! Restaurant has great decor as well and events with live music. Has a Chardonnay that's glass smooth and Merlot that's very full bodied in oak flavor
Even if you don’t like wine, you should check this place out for its architecture and design. The branding is beautiful and elaborate. It’s evident they spent a lot of time, effort and money to build this beautiful atmosphere and experience. Staff are very helpful and not pushy, seems they are used to people coming just to look at the building. My friend who’s not a wine person tried two wines and immediately bought one. Would recommend!
Imagine your dream speakeasy bar. With authentic antiques from the 1920 Chicago era. Add amazing service and quality amazing cocktails and drinks! Also the place for amazing evening shows. Highly recommend!
10/10 aesthetic 10/10 service 3/10 wine Unique theme and well done vibe. The lower level speakeasy would be an evening well spent, and the rooftop restaurant worth checking out. The wine is certainly nothing to write home about and pricing is excessive for quality; it coincides with the theme in that it’s fitting for the scoundrels and scallywags. They do waive the $15 tasting with purchase, however unfortunately we didn’t find anything worth spending the extra for a bottle. Highly recommend checking this spot out for the atmosphere and perhaps some cocktails downstairs, but hopefully as they age the wines will improve.
Very interesting winery. Amazing decor; Speakeasy theme. Tastings are affordable and the wine was great. $15 for 4 tastings and waived if you buy a bottle. They have membership options at about 5 wineries they own. Have a rooftop restaurant and lounge on the bottom level. Want to come back soon 😄
I have been visiting Kelowna for wine tasting since 2019 and this year was my first time visiting Crown and Thieves. I’ve gone to their sister property The Hatch a handful of times, so I was excited to give this winery a try. I absolutely love how they intentionally made the building look medieval with the old school charm. The decorations and attention to detail is so impressive. I felt like I was wine tasting in Italy. The ceiling art and speakeasy were my favorite part (aside from the wine). The wine was also great, offering something for everyone. I really enjoyed our wine tasting here. I would highly recommend giving Crown & Thieves a try! They also offer different shows and events in their speakeasy.
Very neat winery, the theme makes it unique and separates itself from the other wineries. Resturant on the roof, tasting and shop on the ground floor, with a cool speak easy downstairs that must be checked out. The speak easy "broken hearts club" has a western saloon feel to it and has great entertainment. Definitely check out their schedule and see what is happening as it transports you to a different time and feel from the ordinary as you enjoy a drink.
This Winery is one you don’t want to miss if you are visiting the Okanagan!!! Brought family from out of town here for the first time over the weekend and we all loved the unique vibe. So different than any Winery we’ve ever been to, and we loved every bit of it. Our hostess Bonnie was brilliant and helpful. Plus we LOVED the wine! 🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟🍷🌟🍷
Such a beautiful place with a stunning view
Love the staff & the aesthetic of the winery. The wine is also top notch of course Must visit
Great and unique winery. The architecture is really nice, I bring friends from out of town here on wine tours to show off Kelowna!
Great setting but the music is so loud it s hard to hear the vocals. Asked staff if they had hearing protection and they replied, I think there is some on stage. I recommend bringing ear plugs if you re seeing a music event to save your hearing. Over 110 db so not safe for your hearing. Turned a good event into a so so experience. Found the drink prices high for the quality of the drinks as well.
Stopped in for a tasting and was welcomed by a young man from South Africa. He made the tasting great, with an excellent sense of humour. My wife and I appreciated him and he sold us on a couple wines we weren t sure of.
Definitely a great place for photo shooting but they only providing red and white for tasting so we didnt try it here.
We had dinner upstairs and Jenna was UNREAL! Such great service. Amazing spot
One of the best wineries I ve been to. Lovely staff, amazing food and wine. The band is incredible.. the crowd even demanded an encore!
Unbelievable place. Our group was blown away by our experience. The food was incredible, and the drinks are amazing. I can not wait to come back.
Shantelle gave us an amazing tasting experience! She was fun, knowledgeable and obviously passionate about wine. Such fun decor and atmosphere. Fantastic wines!
I just had the best tasting experience Ive ever had in Kelowna! Shantelle made us feel so comfortable and was accommodating with all the wines we wanted to try. The patio was full and the bar was getting busy so she brought us down to the Speakeasy - super cool vibe and decor. Despite being busy, we felt taken care of and the description of each wine was so detailed. She is obviously very passionate about Kelowna wine. It was an elevated wine tasting. I hope to be back!
The ambiance is unbeatable, the view is amazing. Great wine options. Speak easy was super cool and the roof top deck amazing!
This place is magical. Loved the location, the architecture, the details, the views and of course the wines.
Amazing experience from the moment we walked in the door. We had a wonderful tasting inside and out. Upstairs for dinner the chef treated us to the most amazing meal. From the service, food, wine and view we will be back!
Very beautifully built place. Their wine collection is awesome and the tasting experience was nice as well. Staff were super nice, knowledgeable and helpful. Totally recommend this place if you are around!
We had the most amazing dinner here!! Huge thanks to all the team for making our evening utterly incredible. The service is outstanding. Delicious wine pairing recommendations, and the food was fabulous! Creative and tasty share plates and mains. Most people at our table were meat eaters but I had the Vegetable Pave which was a total treat for a veggie to be offered something so different and delicious on a menu (apparently the steak was good too). It was a hot weekend but the misters running kept everyone cool and able to sit outside to enjoy the view. This is such a unique establishment with a big selection of exceptional wines, 5 stars for sure. Thank you
This was our favorite winery of the 8 we went to
Absolutely loved it. The aesthetic, the staff, the wines. Will definitely come back when Im in the area again. Lovely visit.
Bonnie was amazing!!! She took so many pics for us and gave us the best service we ve had so far. The location of this winery is INCREDIBLE and there s a speakeasy in the basement. Ask for Bonnie she s the best.
Beautiful venue , great wines and josh was amazing at our wine tasting thank you would highly recommend x
The server forgot about us. And there were 3 tables. But, she was also knowledgeable about wine.
Excellent wine tasting experience
Bonnie and Robbie truly made us feel welcome and their knowledge was impeccable thank you again! Definitely coming back
Great venue Love the speak easy room !
Was there 2023 beautiful winery Helpful staff wonderful experience. Will go again
Amazing decor. Great wine. Best staff ever.
Enter the old world in this authentic looking 27 th century French winery. Huge pours! Greta views!
Fun and beautiful place to get drunk and take pictures.
Very tasty food, friendly young waiter and nice atmosphere/view - highly recommended
My experience in this winery was awesome, got a wine tasting, was able to walk in, their parking is a decent size but still on a crowded day can be a problem. The place is small but has a beautiful view. The theme was definitely a plus, this is a unique winery! As for their wine selection I wasn t a fan of but overall a great experience.
Where to start. Upon arrival, first, we actually passed the run down wrought iron gate to then uturn on gravel to drive into a gravel parking lot surrounded by fruit trees - not grapes. The building was simply a cement box decorated with grandmas garden statute leftovers. The only appealing artifact was a vintage lamp head affixed to the side of the said cement box. Upon entering, no one was there to greet you. Rightly so considering you essentially walk into a wall right away. Once you turn and walk into a dark, small, shoulder to shoulder space with the wine pourers corralled in a wooden cube that took up the entire space, there was still no one to welcome you. This very much reminded me of my nightclub days fighting to get the attention of the bartender while the regulars staked claim to the counter. The only thing missing was the dance floor, smoke and bass beats. The grounds themselves were pleasant - from a distance - although the wrought iron gates were all padlocked preventing guests from even enjoying the grounds with the Lakeview unlike other wineries who very much welcome guests to meander while not forcing a tasting. So while stuck crammed on the cheaply plastered veranda hoping to capture a few memorable pictures - you can expect someone to pounce as to your need to be there if you werent drinking the less than pleasant wine. Needless to say, the ultimate take from this one and only visit, was unwelcoming with the attitude that if you werent there for a tasting of underwhelming wine.... then you need to vacate the premises.
Worst place to host large groups in Kelowna. Every July my family of 10 goes to Kelowna and has one nice diner at a winery. Weve eaten at Quails Gate, Mission Hill and Cedar Creek with no problems. We had a reservation on the rooftop of Crown and Thieves and had the worst experience. We were supposedly late, even thought all of my email threads said another time, they rushed us out of the restaurant and the server basically didnt wait on us. The worst part was we had dinner on the rooftop and then went downstairs for a speak easy concert. So we spent a lot of money at Crown and Thieves... We shared our experience with the servers downstairs at the speak easy and they were so apologetic. Speak easy servers were amazing and rooftop staff were terrible.
One of our favourite stops on our Grape Experience Wine Tour. The decor here is beautiful, the wines delicious and be sure to check out the very cool public washrooms. So interesting. Note that you must stand during the wine tastings here. The Speak Easy in the basement looks like an awesome spot to host a private party, and try to get there when Jason Parkes and Proper Man Band are playing.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Crown and Thieves. They wear the crown of a guaranteed good time and they are a thief of my laughter and money cause I love coming here all the time lol. From the rooftop patio to the depths of the speakeasy to the tasting room between every experience is 15/10!
Crown and Thieves is a remarkable, must-see, standout of Kelowna/West Kelowna. Everything about this place is so unique and sets the bar so incredibly high for its competitors. On the outside you see the building s elegant, archaic appearance then enter to an undeniably majestic, tasteful interior. Every single one of the staff members are bubbly, knowledgeable and so fun! You can tell it s a healthy work environment by the way the employees are treated, and in turn treat the customers. Among the many times I ve gone, Ive received notably fantastic service from Olivia and Shantelle. In the daytime, you can see their vast and stunning views spanning West Kelowna to Kelowna with the lake in between. At night you can check out their one-of-a-kind speakeasy downstairs where I ve gone to see comedy shows, burlesque shows, and music acts. Their wine is absolutely top-notch, setting them aside from the rest with their unique names and fun backstories. This place really has it all and Jason Parkes has done spectacular things with this establishment. Truly an original experience, an exceptional highlight of Okanagan wineries.
This place is fantastic! The service, the ambience and the wines! It s an experience you ll never get anywhere else and the coolest winery to explore! Highly recommended as an essential part of your West Kelowna winery tours!
The best Wine, Service, Entertainment, Views and more. A highlight of West Kelowna
Highly recommend! This was one of our favourites during our stay in Kelowna. Our tasting guide Brianna (it was something with a B escaping me now, sorry!) was fantastic! Cannot say enough good things about the vibe of this place. The wine was fantastic, bought some to bring back on the plane. The speak easy was super cool to see, we wish we would have been there on the weekend to enjoy it. If we are ver back in the area we will definitely visit again!
This was by far the most unique and stunning experience. The venue was incredible and the detailing in all of the decor, art and structure breathtaking. Joshua was so great with leading our tasting and giving us the run down of the wines and how Crown and Theives came to be. The speakeasy was such a fun touch to what was already an amazing experience. Wow. Just wow!
Just visited Crown and Thieves great staff and excellent selections of wines. The gentleman certainly knew his grapes. Glad we visited very friendly Team.
Great service and great time! One of our favourites of our tour. Staff were incredibly funny and knowledgeable. Such a unique spot and stunning views also. Highly recommend!
My favourite Winery to visit! Such a unique place with a fresh take on wines.
Excellent service , great tasting wine . Really enjoyed my visit here . Highly recommend
Always love this winery. Went to see the band on Saturday nite in the speak easy and it was outstanding !
Great atmosphere and wines
Some of the best wines Ive ever tasted and an incredible winery that needs to be visited. A truly amazing experience!
I went for my 19th and they where closed and hour before closing
We found the staff very fun and entertaining. However when we opened a bottle of wine that we had bought. It did not taste right, when emailing to see if we had a bad cork/cap and a possibility that we had an oxidized bottle wine. They never followed up with us. Fun atmosphere, some of the labels can be hard to read as they have a faux patina. The wine was decent a tad on the sweet side for the blended red but still enjoyable. The reserve cab franc sounds good as well but they did not have it open during our visit.
Great historical decoration. Robbie very nice and has a good service.
What a beautiful place!!! The ambiance and decor are very neat! We went for the burlesque show with the buffet and had few bottles of their pinot noir, good! Spectacle was awesome! Classy girls and very friendly. Professional. Only suggestion would be to keep the crowd entertained between each sets, keep the music loud at least to keep the vibe going.
Great afternoon tasting and learning with our Crown & Thieves hostess, Chantelle.
Funky place! Really enjoyed the wine tasting. Hostess was fun and professional! Had a great time. We also loved the atmosphere as well as the wines. Strongly recommend!
always favourite
Crown & Thieves is one of the most unique wineries we ve ever been to. While most wineries operate by the book, here they do it a little different from their decor to their wines. We stopped in for a wine tasting and walked away with two delicious wines to bring home. Would highly recommend a visit here for a slightly different but awesome experience.
Really good view of the winery and the lake. Has a really unique interior with a bar that hosts special events. Got a bottle of red and white wine for a decent price too.
Awesome staff for tasting room, great wines and food, and the best interior in Okanagan area! Beautiful terrace for restaurant too I honestly dont want this place to get too busy, but you deserve 5 stars
Very unique winery and restaurant. Food was good, wine ok buy water over priced.
Nice view and interesting idea for the interior, but not interesting wines
Good wine good food and good people!
Meh.
Brilliantly done decor for a new build replicating an old abby - well done! Superb views for an equally awesome beverage
I went to crown and thieves over the weekend and did a full tour. I started in the tasting room where Olivia gave me a fantastic tasting. We then went for a dinner on the roof and Courtneys service was fantastic, and the food was exceptional. We finished off the evening at the magic show and Ella was the best server. We loved every minute! Thank you for a fantastic Sunday! We will be back!
Beautiful spot and great food!
We had an enjoyable tasting here! Bonnie was such an amazing and knowledgeable host :) By contrast, the upstairs staff was rude and pushy. We wanted to get food but decided against it since the restaurant staff was herding us like animals and pushing everyone around. Really hampered the experience and made us feel unwelcome.
Terrible service here during a wine tour, would not recommend.
Went to the comedy night June 11, it was fantastic. 1 of the four comics, was kind of rude, the rest were great, the main comedian was hilarious & he was more than an hour show. Only disappointed was, no food or snacks, just drinks
this place is definitely a must see if you re ever near the west kelowna area. i went during a comedy show and i had the best time. such cool architecture. amazing wine! the bar service here was amazing too.
Great place to visit: friendly staff, great wine, nice vies and awesome building. Keep on building that wine imperium guys!
Wonderful atmosphere and an awesome place to go for entertainment on the weekend!
Great but it was cool and they apparently had blankets but didnt offer them to us. Good food and drink, but pay attention to your customers.
Do something different and visit this place. You wont be disappointed.
This place is perfect for a specific target audience. Although we didn t try the wines, we had a pleasant time exploring and visiting the location.
Great lunch at Angelshare
One of the coolest wine destination buildings in Kelowna. Love the old decor. Amazing!
Came for a stagette winery tour and loved the atmosphere so much that I brought my family backs a few days later! It s such a cool building!
What an amazing venue! Very intimate setting down in the Speakeasy... The staff are so accommodating and friendly! A gorgeous place to see a show!
If you re looking to eat at the restaurant, you may want to try else where. Food was not good at all. The portions were small. Prawns did not looked cooked but the outer part was burnt. The winery was nice, but restaurant is not the place to eat.
Crown @ Thieves was a total disappointment, if you re expecting a delicious meal, DO NOT go here, over priced food with small portions and over cooked prawns
Me and my girlfriend stopped here on a wine tour and were incredibly elated at how amazing this winery is. You get a unique experience from the get go. They have very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The sommelier Rob took great care of us and taught us a lot about the wine as we were enjoying it. He was friendly and easy to talk to and really cared about the wine and the experience. Would easily come back again for the wine and the speakeasy, couldn t recommend a visit more. Thanks for such a great time!
Amazing views and wines. The Food, AVOID.
What a unique concept and experience. Up the large staircase leading to a beautiful okanagan view on a roof top patio was spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very tasty. Sharing some different dishes with a glass of wine was a great way to spend an afternoon. A hidden gem forsure. We will be back.
Very bad survive! They are busy, but at least they can say hi to us!!!
Delicious wine and gorgeous views! They have a very unique spot that is worth visiting and their staff is very friendly.
Really eclectic place. I was a fan of their flagship syrah. I would come back to eat or for one of their events!
Jasmine was a phenomenal waitress and treated us so kindly. We just wanted to stop in for some wine and she served us and gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our trip as well. She was extremely kind and fun. We enjoyed our time at Crown & Thieves because of Jasmine!
Eminence is incredible ..renovations and theme cannot be beat. But that is a one-time cost for the owner. Food? . Not so much. All it was missing was a drive-through. If you re going here, eat before you go
Fabulous. Great food, great menu, great venue and amazing service. Will be back sooner than later.
Super cool place for dinner! We went at the golden hour, the light slowly fading while we enjoyed several delicious share plates. Only regret is we were able to get down below yo see the cool facade but that will be for next time!
Imagine you crash landed on the secret island in Count of Monte Christo and then someone handed you a triumphant series of elegant wines .. I know it s a lot to unpack but trust me it s amazing. Possibly the most original and imaginative winery I ve ever visited. The decor is so unique that it almost distracts from the wine. I said ALMOST distracts from the wine because Crown & Thieves delivers a stellar line up of wine that is really top notch. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and really dedicate themselves to cultivating the fun and unique experience. Absolute must-visit, 5/5.
Always a wonderful experience, great staff. Specifically Chantal in the tasting room and Taylyn in the roof top restaurant. She fit us in without a reso at the best table!
It was a good experience and i liked the atmosphere of the place
Winery was nice but food was terrible not worth it and service was not great. Waited half an hour for a simple salad and got charged for mussels that we never got. Seems like there was only one cook in the kitchen. Save your $$ don t bother with lunch
Downstairs tasting was superb. Rob was amazing - needs to write a book on this. However, upon scoping the upstairs restaurant for booking, the waitress was unnecessarily rude. We were told downstairs to go check it out. So we did. Upon getting up we walked through and received a level of sas from the waitress that should be seriously reviewed by management - do you want people dining there? She sure made it seem like the answer is no - not good. All guests should feel welcome. Even if they re coming to check it out for next visit. Would love to try the food as a local but have been seriously put off by her attitude - the last thing one should feel in the hospitality industry - she can do better and I hope she does for the sake of the restaurant and it s patrons. Giving 5 stars for the tasting experience we received as to not spoil the rating because of one person.
We had a reservation, and everything was ready when we arrived. The food was delicious and the wine too. The way they decorate the place is amazing. We loved it! We will definitely come back
This place is legit. Great food, amazing views and a cool building.
Great location and uniquely decorated
Extremely disappointed! We came in yesterday afternoon for a tasting and immediately felt unwelcome. The guy behind the counter very rudely asked us what we were there for. Hello? No welcome, no smile, no explanation on what their tasting involved (price, # of wines included, etc). Nothing, nada, zero! Then proceeded to quiz us on what type of wine we liked with this air of superiority and even removed the paper wine menu from our view so we wouldnt peak at their offerings. Simply awful! After serving us one wine, he simply left and completely ignored us after that. The other server took over after observing we were left hanging and while she was pleasant, we noticed a discrepancy on the amount poured to us compared to the amount poured to a tour group. Seriously? This place was highly recommended to us and we were so excited to taste their wines, learn about their story and bring home a taste of Crown & Thieves. Two in our group of three are business owners in the food industry in Vancouver. We were flabbergasted with their terrible customer service and left feeling insulted, minimized and unappreciated. Will definitely NOT recommend this winery to our clients, friends, or family.
What a nice winery! We went there on our way back to kelowna after a day around the lake and we had no expectations at all. The design of the place is super charming and the views are wonderful! The staff was fun and we actually had our favorite red wine of the valley there, the syrah!! Awesome place, give it a try! :)
Magnificent place. Quality tasting in a welcoming and very original tasting room. THANKS
A wonderful place with an incredible view and delicious wine. Its worth a try!
Had so much fun in the speak easy seeing proper man was so good!
Hyped way too much. Too crowded and the wines are not that particular and good
This year we had our Christmas party at Crown and Thieves. The staff was super helpful in creating a menu and experience for our employees. They really went above and beyond helping organize transportation and hotel rooms for our out of town guests. The venue is one of a kind that is a must see. The band, Proper Man rocked!
I love to go up to Crown & Thieves! Its got such a different atmosphere...the bathrooms remind me of Alice In Wonderland- the whole place is fantastic, with amazing views of Mission Hill, various vineyards, the lake and spectacular mountain views. It is just down the road from Glen Canyon, right on the way to downtown Westbank so a perfect spot for an after hike drink!
Interesting view, decor, and experience.
I had a ruby rose cocktail and it was delicious and the staff were amazing and very old school vibes
A very unique winery that you won t regret visiting! the staff are wonderful and the wines are delicious, although bottles of wine are a bit on the pricy side compared with prices at some other wineries. We were told that since they are a small winery, they had actually run out of some of their wines this past summer, but we still enjoyed the wines we got to try at the tasting. Really liked the atmosphere and the view outside of the building.
Very Pleasantly surprise when we did wine tasting . Good red selection for sure
Crown & Thieves was a nice winery to visit. The lady in the tasting room was very helpful and answered all our questions. We were there earlier in the day so the Speak Easy wasnt open yet but we were able to check it out. Very eclectic furnishings and friendly bar tender. Apparently the owner is part of the band Proper Man.
A surprising experience awaits at the tasting room. Enjoy the wine and be sure to visit downstairs
If you haven t already, check this place out!!! You ve got to eat here. The best BBQ in the country. Cool vibes, unlike any other (typical of Jason Parkes Customs). The atmosphere is crazy unique and the staff rocks.
Very cool winery! Love the decor...and the wine is delish! 5/5!
The speakeasy downstairs looks damn cool
Unique wines in a unique location
Great establishment
We saw Proper Man over the weekend. Olivia really made our experience the best it could have been. We will be back and appreciate the great staff. The speakeasy is really a magical place to be.
Probably one of the best wineries around Kelowna, the wines taste great and the atmosphere is just stunning
Tl;DR - Excellent experience, and couldnt recommend it more. Our group of four did The Trifecta which was a wine tasting in the beautifully decorated tasting room and old stone style patio overlooking OK lake, cocktails in the speakeasy, and then dinner at Angel Share on the top of the building. Each step was unique, quirky, and cleverely handled by all the staff. One - the staff was remarkable. Everyone was friendly, and inviting, and went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. It also looks like they take great pride in working there, which does wonders for a venues general perception from their clientele. The tasting room somehow blends the feeling of having wine in an old English study, without the stuffy, claustrophobic vibe that would normally accompany such a room. The huge windows and stone patio made the space very inviting. The Speakeasy was everything you would want from a scoundrels den. Furniture and light fixtures that look like theyve been plundered have been excellently and deliberately placed around the room with a center stage (we caught the Proper Man concert after dinner - they were unreal!) at from and a huge ornate bar at the back. Drinks and service (shout out to Hector) were spectacular. At 7:30 we went to the upstairs restaurant. It is open ceilinged to the elements with blankets and heaters if required - but it was 14 degrees out and was not chilly at all up on the stone roof which was very surprising. It feels very exclusive and the view by the windows is wonderful. The food was Tapas style, in that they truly mean everything is for sharing. It was decadent in every level. In all, an awesome experience and one Im happy to share with anyone would who ask. Thanks to Jason and the band, loved every minute of this place.
Fantastic experience, so unique! Rebels that tried something different and have a winner for the effort!
One of a kind experience! Delicious wine, craft cocktails AND LIVE MUSIC!!
It is easy to find good wine in the Okanagan and Crown and Thieves are no exception. What really stood out for us though, was the ambiance and our tasting experience. The building encompasses the speakeasy vibe without feeling over the top. Our sommelier, Robbie, was also awesome and provided us with a personable and entertaining tasting that can often be hard to find. Will be back!
It was a wonderful experience. They moved the meal from roof top to speakeasy. Food was great and customer service was superior. We finished our meal and went to visit their wine shop. We purchased wine to end of our perfect Evening.
What a cool building inside and out. I think this was one of my favourites purely for the grounds and architecture. Although the tasting room is small, there are several viewpoints to take in the views while you wait for a spot. The wines were delicious, but I was also looking for something more unique to match the atmosphere and didnt quite find it in the tasting wines. Will be back though for food on the upper patio when its not rainy.
Went for lunch and a wine tasting, the wine & food were okay, the facility is beautiful, but the staff really ruined the experience. We had to eat in the speakeasy in the basement because it was raining and the rooftop restaurant was closed. One bartender(/manager?) was mortified that lunch was being served there and spent the entire service complaining about her colleagues & managers. She asked guests who were there to tour the winery to leave multiple times throughout our meal, after staff on the main floor directed them to come down to check it out (probably to try to sell them on coming back for a meal in the future - smart business!) At one point a waitress smartly told her to go take a smoke break as she could tell patrons were listening. Unfortunately this didn t help calm her down, she came back even more angry. In a small room with only a few people we could hear every word, and while it made for a somewhat entertaining experience, it grew old quickly.
I attended Crown & Thieves this past weekend and was underwhelmed..... I had heard about it from some coworkers and was excited to check it out. I had looked online and it said happy hour in the speakeasy was from 3-5:00pm. My boyfriend also called and someone confirmed these times as well over the phone. So we showed up around 3:30pm. A sign outside the front doors also confirmed this is when happy hour was. But inside in the tasting room, a staff member said this was not the case and referred us up to the roof top patio. We bought a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board. The charcuterie board was very underwhelming. It was on a plate and not a wood board. There was no dried fruit or jams or jellies. The bread seemed pretty dry and flavourless. Best part was the fried haloumi. There was a huge cement wall that was cool for the theme, but really did take away from the view of the lake unless you are seated right by the wall by the metal grates in the cement. The staff up top also did not have correct information about the speakeasy and we had to get a second staff member to explain we could go down at 5:00pm for cocktails. We went to the tasting room for a tasting which was beautiful, this was the best area of the building! The pours of wine were fairly small tho..... We went down around 5:15pm and the staff downstairs in the speakeasy seemed inconvenienced to see us as we entered. The service was fine after this. The cocktails in the speakeasy are prohibition style so if thats your taste, it would be great (they are extremely strong). For me personally, they were too much. BUT, one that was not as strong was the aviation! It was a beautiful purple shade and had a great citrus flavour. All in all, I cant say Ill be back sadly..........
Go to this winery! Its a must try. The vibe, staff and wine are all amazing and the wine is delicious!!!! Weve been multiple times and we are never disappointed.
We had such an amazing dinner experience at this rooftop noshery. The decor, the sunny weather, the open kitchen, the food all paired up very well. The waitress explained Angel share meant the foods are meant to be shared like snacks/tapas. The pork belly was so good I wanted to compliment the chef but I was too shy to interrupt him. The only thing I loved/hated was the chilli rice. It was so spicy but so good. Strongly recommend in making reservations.
Sam was the best server ever! So friendly and wonderful :) would recommend to anyone and the service alone.
Food and service was top notch. Sat at the bar in angel share and watching the chefs do their thing made the experience that much better. Wine was great and food was even better! Big props to Ella, she rocked everything!
Its almost embarrassing how bad this food is - uninspired, garbage to be honest. Not sure I d put a chefs name on my wall if hes using doritos or miss vickies as part of his course. Honestly the worst food I ve ever had at this price point. They don t make in house anything, not even the chips! the produce is below average - hardly heated brie cheese on top of iceberg lettuce with a bit of pea sprouts and not fully ripened strawberries - its meant to be a brie salad? Your twist on fried brussel sprouts is pickled none local grapes and popcorn - wow creative. Serving food in a miss vickies bag? Doritos on top of mac and cheese? I honestly can t believe any of this is made but a chef with real world experience. This is food your 5 year old makes you for fathers day - thanks son, i love it! Go for the tasting and the photo ops - dont eat there -trust me! Sadly I d say go to phil at liquidity for out of this world creative food - but hes gone to tofino. So just eat at home - less heart burn
Sam and Olivia are so sweet and make this dinner experience even more fun! This is our 3rd time here and already looking forward to the next time! Cheers!
First time we visited, it was amazing, 6/5. We could take photos everywhere; we were given a private tour of the basement speakeasy. The tasting was intimate and welcoming. The second visit was none of those things. Why is the front of the winery, its best view, facing away from visitors. All we get is a concrete block. It wouldnt be so bad if we could walk around to the front, BUT WE CANT. The entire lot is fenced off. Why in the world would they do that, so that only boats can see the winerys best side? And the inside if beautiful but it was so packed full of people, you could barely move. We wanted to do a tasting, but there was no way we were going to wait the 30 minutes required to get a tasting. I get it, sucks to be successful, but I love wineries at that phase when they are successful and not annoyingly popular and C&T has reached that phase in less than a year. Addendum: To stress...there is no way that we can see to walk around to the front of the building to such an extent to take a photo of it.
Beautiful winery. Wines and architecture are world class!
Our family of 5 had a fabulous lunch and tasting at Crown and Thieves. Amazing food served by Lisa, and exceptional service from Bonnie in the tasting room. We loved it so much we bought two cases and joined their club! Highly recommend visiting this unique and delicious local winery.
Decided to visit this beautiful winery as I heard raving revues about the venue from coworkers. Although this winery was beautiful the costumer service was unpleasant. Upon arrival we were greeted by the woman who I assume is the manager. She proceeded to corral our group like 1st graders to condescendingly explain rules which included not bumping into other groups doing tastings. Once we went downstairs to the speakeasy a member of our group stayed upstairs to overhear the manager tell another staff to follow us to watch them, as they dont know what they re doing . I am not sure what about our group gave off the impression that we needed to be monitored or that we couldn t afford a 15 dollar tasting. I would recommend skipping this winery, we had an amazing experience at Frind and Quails gate. Overall, we all felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. *Edit: unfortunately, the only person on the stage was the employee sent down to watch us. Had this actually occurred I don t believe any of the poor customer service would be justified as it all occurred prior to us being downstairs.
Highly recommend this winery! Lauren was SO knowledgeable and made the experience that much more amazing!!!
Fun winery to visit for the story than for the wine itself. If you like taxidermy, this place is for you in their speakeasy room where you can do the wine tasting.
Beautiful setting and scenery
We came here on a wine tour and this was our absolute favourite winery! The architecture is stunning, the wine is delicious and the staff are friendly, knowledgable and fun. This is a great down-to-earth winery with a very unique and special vibe.
I don t know how this one dude makes all of the coolest places around, but he does. Black Swift, The Hatch, Hatching Post, they re all amazing and this place is no exception. It s like a time machine and a museum smooshed together, but with kickass wine and one of the best views of any winery we ve ever been to.
The experience was great, the wine selection was incomparable. Add to that the unique theme of speakeasy, classical paintings and great staff!
It was hot, crowded and still awesome when we visited this fun and unique winery. We didnt do a tasting but booked a reservation at Angel Share for lunch. The setting was glorious and the service fantastic. I was expecting a little more of a gourmet/adventurous menu but what we had - nachos and a turkey sandwich with fries - was very tasty. I especially loved the Pinky Blinders rosé and bought a bottle before we left. A real highlight here is the funky decor, especially in the Speakeasy. Well be back!
Atmosphere, decor 10/10! Hands down the coolest winery I have ever seen. Where they fell short was the food..... we went here for lunch and it cost us $70 for two bad sandwiches and two 6oz glasses of wine. The food was awful except for the fries those were good. But for $70 I dont want to see Pringles as side and the bread be Dempsters brown bread from Save On. Their restaurant just opened and menu is sorely lacking, poorly made, and WAY over priced.
Went for our Weekly girls happy hour thought we would try this place. Wow think my 12 year son Could make a better charcuterie board. No I know my 12 year old son could!! 2 items only on happy hour menu ??? Absolutely horrible charcuterie board consisting of sliced garlic roll, a few slices of prosciutto, small amount of berries, small selects of hard cheeses, rolls, a Dab of mustard, a cut up jalapeño for $25 and frozen deep fried french fries for $12. Wish I took a picture to show ya all. 2 of the 6 ladies both had family members that had been there, and mentioned they won t never be back! Only 2 tables in the Resturant and again poor service. If the star could have a - it would be there
What a great space and location. Loved the atmosphere created by some cool decor and stories to go along with them. And the wine! Some of the best reds in the valley. And shhhhh the lounge downstairs needs to be seen in person! Can t wait to check out some live shows next time.
Excellent experience at crown and thieves. Wasn t disappointed by the wines and our tasting room servers were incredibly kind and informative. The winery is incredibly unique and I will be coming back
The whole Crown & thieves experience is phenomenal... Such great wines, setting and very personable customer service. Really loved it and very thankful to the friend that recommended it. Definitely a must do/see when in the Kelowna area.
Such a neat place! Will visit again when we go back to BC
Very nice and unique place. The building and interior decoration specially downstairs is very unique and interesting. You wont get bored looking around for hours! The service has room for improvement as there was a long waiting time to get served. They also have lots of shows and concerts, the biggest is Proper Man I think.
We had Bonnie as a server and she was the absolute BEST. So knowledgeable and sweet. Would highly recommend this winery, also the wine itself was amazing!!!
One of my most favorite wineries in BC!! Not only is it visually awesome, the wine is fantastic and the staff are lovely! Especially Sean! We will definitely be back...
I felt like I was back in England while at this property. The Rose is delicious. We were a bit rushed because we came at closing but we will back to properly enjoy the restaurant and wine!
We did a wine tasting specifically for their Rose and loved it. This place is nothing like weve ever seen and all floors (3) are very unique and will keep you in awe. Though we didnt have anything to eat we did check out the upstairs dinning room and some of the food that was being served looked awesome!
Really great wine. Gorgeous location
The experience of the 3 course @kfc dinner was great, even fantastic until we were left with a bad taste in our mouth when paying for our wine at the conclusion of our experience. Apparently putting the significantly cheaper tasting room prices of the wine, on the front page of the wine list on the restaurant table, with the actual restaurant wine prices (more than double the tasting room prices) buried on subsequent pages thereafter! #commonthievesandscoundrelsindeed #notcool
We went here for dinner as a group. Food was good. Decor was nice. But the waitress was absolutely horrible. I was ignored during the order and when I eventually brought it up, so I could simply get my order in, all I got was disrespectful attitude. I would have talked to management but didnt want to make a scene as it was a birthday event. Im very rarely inclined to leave a negative review but there was absolutely zero excuse for this waitresses attitude. The attitude wasnt exclusively to me either as I saw her carry her negative vibe to the rest of the group. Shameful.
We had a reservation. It was all ready when we arrived. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. The views are stunning and the back of the building made me feel like i was in Italy or something. The roof top is a restaurant, great food and very good vibes. It was our first time checking this place out, and we would definitely come back. Highly recommended. We also got a couple bottles of wine. Rose and white.
I had purchased a case of wine for delivery after tasting at the winery, but my concerns regarding shipping methods were never addressed. Not a pleasant customer service experience.
Spectacular venue for wine, food and entertainment! Went to dinner at Angel Share and an impromptu show by Proper Man at the speakeasy!
A cant miss winery to add to your list.
This place is actually a pretty cool place. The decor is what sells it .The wine is mediocre and the food is not that appetizing. Apparently the charcuterie is only served for 1.5 hours in the day(3 to 430pm) so all you get is some fries and a salad for lunch. Try quails gate or cedar creek for best of both worlds!
The wines are just ok but the service is what is the worst. Didn t really get acknowledged when we arrived. But moreso we couldnt get them to check us out. I was just going to leave without paying for my tasting or the wines. I m sure they would not notice.
I love this place great wine and beautiful views so I decided to take some family there. The waitress seemed inconvenienced and any request we made to the point we felt uncomfortable. The happy hour charcuterie plate was good but the McCain fries and ketchup not so much, hope they improve and we can come back.
Good staff, excellent environment with incredible views
This winery was our first stop and while it was a neat location with an amazing view, the poor staff were run ragged and working very hard to serve everyone. We stayed for 4 of our 5 tastings because it was a bit stressful watching the staff try to handle everyone. Maybe we just visited on a super busy day but it could have been a better experience.
Favourite winery in all of Kelowna!
A friend of mine from out of town is in love with a wine from here. She VERY seldom has the opportunity to visit the Okanagan and this wine is all she has talked about since visiting over a year ago. I was so disappointed to learn that their stock was extremely limited as she s had a tough year and will be coming to visit next week and I thought it would be a wonderful gift. One of the guys (I m so sorry that I didn t catch your name!) managed to find just a couple bottles. When I came to pick up, the whole staff was friendly and the building itself was really cool! I hadn t been out to the winery before but I ll make sure that I never miss this one again when I m showing visitors around the valley. Highly recommend you check it out too!
Amazing experience at Crown & Thieves! We stopped for a tasting and had a great time. Beautiful vineyards, amazing decor, friendly service, and great wine. Keep your eyes peeled on arrival - we saw at least 5 deer outside.
I couldnt have been more disappointed in my experience. I love supporting the local scene, but the price for the Cabaret show that was supposed to be 2 hours and ended up being maybe 40 minutes of actual performance needs to be re-evaluated. Not to mention the servers were too busy taking photos and videos, but hey at least the space looked cool.
Interesting place! I went for a Comedy night and the vibe was very good! Also the wine and food!
My favorite tasting experience by far! The staff is extremely fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. Thank you for so many good experiences.
We have visited the music event at the Broken Hearts club which was actually very enjoyable. The performance, the service, the cocktails were great BUT THE PATHETIC FOOD!!! I think the chicheron (pork rinds on the menu) with chipotle mayo can be acceptable in the tiki bar on the beach but not in the fancy bar. The advertised tapas were not exciting and overpriced...Anyway, the lesson learned))) eat the dinner before you go))) whiskey sour highly recommended)))
Not a big fan of the wine here. Its over priced but the building is very interesting and different. Great place for pictures and to take a look at all the antique things.
Delicious wine, great staff, amazing decor. I love the speakeasy vibe and the humour put into the subtle details! Will be back next time Im in Kelowna
Just left the winery. Very poor experience. Told us a couple minutes and we waited 30 minutes. Put us downstairs in the speakeasy with no music to start and absolutely no service for drinks, etc. the operation was not run well at all
One of my favourite wineries that Ive ever been to. Great wine and such a cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Awesome people! Especially Shawn! Def make a stop on your tasting tour
Very unique!! Camera doesn t do it justice.
Very disappointed in both the quality of the food and the quantity for a group at 4 we had five appetizers and we all left still hungry the chicken wings which costed $17 only had six wings and they were very skimpy looking Wings we asked for them to be double fried so they were crispy but they came out have you not done that my total bill was over $200 and we all left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry
Wine tasting was amazing! The medieval atmosphere was very unique and cant wait to come back! Thank you for the great service.
Most beautiful tasting room in the Okanagan!
Recently attended a private event. The food was awesome, band was great, venue is stellar. But the highlight was the staff. They worked so hard and were extremely friendly. They truly made the evening a success!
