6612 Royal Ave, West Vancouver, BC V7W 2G5, Canada
Casual eatery offering sesame chicken, curry beef & other Chinese food, plus combination meals.
First time here but not the last time! Even tho this place doesn't look very modern, the food is great!!🤩 As a vegetarian it’s not easy to find a place with tasty veggie options. I was amazed, how chef handled my Tofu Chop Suey, it was incredibly tasty and veggie done just right!!👏 My company’s chicken Chao Main with sweet&sour pork was great too. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Chinese cuisine, the staff is very helpful, explains everything and they’re super patient lol. Huge portions!!! Loads of veggie. Forgot to take pics as I came hangry 😅 Definitely give this place a chance, you’re gonna be pleasantly surprised!
The food is above aboce average, serving size isnt great. I like the scenery and service was great. 4.4/5
Super cute little place. While inside, many people came in and said it was the best Chinese. Got combo #3. My husband and I shared it, and it was a perfect sized meal for the both of us for dinner.
One of the worst Chinese restaurants I been to. Fried rice was bland. Honey garlic chicken was dry. I highly don’t recommend this restaurant.
No exaggeration, the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. The food came out super quick, absolutely no chance of missing your ferry because of food delays. The almond chicken is a must, I love it so much. Everything else- also yum The portions were generous, I shared a meal for one with my bald father and it was more than enough for the two of us. However, I hope in the future that you are blessed with fortune cookies from this divine establishment, as we unfortunately did not receive any. Overall I’d rate it a yum yum yum in my tum. (That means it was good)
Came here while waiting for our ferry. Ordered the broccoli with garlic sauce, ginger beef, dry chicken with spicy salt, and a small bowl of rice. Was quiet when we came and the server was helpful and relaxed. The food was great. Every dish met our expectations. The texture of the beef was not as crisp as other places. Loved the broccoli. The chicken was tasty and good for kids, as long as they can handle some spice. We like to come here when we get the chance. Thinking of trying this place? We recommend it. It’s a reliably good experience (taste, service, quality). Hope all goes well.
We happened upon this restaurant while coming back from Whistler and it was a nice surprise. Cook and service person were all Chinese, so we knew we were getting the authentic food. The interior was very basic with plastic table cloth on tables. The menu was quite extensive and there were lunch options available. The most memorable item we ate was the shrimp fried rice which very much had a wok taste and was the best that we had on our trip. The lemon chicken and the corn soup were just average. Service was quick and food came out piping hot. There is available parking right outside the restaurant.
I had lunch there on July 23, 2023. Service from the owners was really great. The Chicken with black bean sauce was delicious. The portion was large and the price on the sweet side at $15 / CAD. I ate outside as the day was warm and sunny. The plate with plenty of vegetables, mushrooms and chicken looked so good that several people asked me what that was and share the same thoughts: really appetizing :) Some guests had a combo and the portions were really large! Based on my experience I can certainly warmly recommend.
Great spot really good food and friendly staff
Never go there. Its salty and tasteless. And since I was a foreigner, I thought I didnt know much, so I didnt even select a tip, but I clicked Direct and charged it. When I looked at my card statement later, I saw that the payment was much more than the cost of the food. Looking at other reviews, it seems like this happens often, but I hope it becomes a conscientious store that doesnt ignore its customers. It reflects in many ways.
We had chicken soup and tofu soup , both were amazing . It is really hard to get good quality food in vancouver these days.
Yummy
Im happy with my combo order, tasty and fresh. Thank-you!
Yum!
Delicious food
Lovely place to eat. Everything is perfect. Luv it
This restaurant is a hidden gem. Generous portions, not greasy, great flavors. Szechuan beans are our favourite. It s our go to take out in the Bay!
I came back from Whistler today and stopped by for dinner. The interior of the restaurant is simple and clean. I also took a special look at the kitchen, which was also very clean. In addition, the service attitude of this restaurant is very good, and the portions of the dishes are generous, which matches the price. The ingredients in every dish are very fresh, quite tasty but not salty, and the taste is just right! Although we didnt order barbecued pork a la carte, we had barbecued pork from Yangzhou fried rice, and the color and taste were authentic. The dishes in this restaurant are very suitable for those who control sugar. I like them very much and highly recommend them!
The price is cheap and the food is good. It would be better if the fried chicken wings have less powder.
The chicken in black bean sauce on noodles was delicious and contained a good variety of vegetables! My partner had the chicken chowmein, fried rice and sweet&sour lunch combo. You can tell its a family owned & operated business that cares about quality and customer satisfaction. Vegetarian options: Variety of vegetable dishes and options with tofu Parking: 2 hr limit for street parking. Plenty of lots in the area.
Food all was over cooked and old but honestly the nicest most hospitable waitress Ive ever had! She was so sweet.
Good food and friendly owner or server. we ordered a food for 2 person (rice and chicken, pork ,beef and vegetables) totally is good. Food : 4/5
The food was great but the lady staff was not. There was no tax however the lady tipped herself more than 15%, even without asking us. There was no board that says anything about this tipping culture. If tipped myself, I would have felt a lot better. Also, felt like the lady rushed us out after we completed our lunch.. Looks like the restaurant was a low-key family owned. Also, This is pricy restaurant but google does not show $$ sign. The price might be for the pricy location but google dint tell us.
Good quality local Chinese restaurant. Yummy
Great neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The owners are so kind and generous.
Lovely Chinese restaurant
The food is great. We are a group of five persons. We have ordered special fried rice , beef with black bean sauce on rice noodle , Singapore style vermicelli , small size hot and sour soup . The portion is large. Most important the food could deliver the original Chinese taste and spirit of Chinese wok . The price is reasonable, in fact , cheaper than our expectation and other foods of same place. We fully recommend this restaurant!
Ordered take out. Food was definitely not fresh. I had to feed my kids in a hurry and had ordered three items and the only one that was made fresh, the deep fried tofu. The other dishes were stale and not made to order. It was completely bland and was not appetizing.
Tasty food and friendly staff
Incredible food and even better service. We love this little place. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible Food : 5/5 |
As good as it gets Will go back every time I am in the area Food
Best Chinese in the Sea to Sky Corridor (trust me I ve checked) the veggie spring rolls are divine. And the lemon chicken is so good I d drive from Squamish to get it.
A shabby little Western Canadian style Chinese food joint. Ive been looking for one for quite some time. Food was edible. Breaded chicken a little overdone. Pay extra for lemon sauce; and the beef + broccoli too much MSG. Hokey pokey green metal furniture with checkered plastic table cloths. Friendly service-and the chicken chowmein was average but not horrible. Anyway - I got my fix. Ill be good now for a few years.lol
Amaaaazzzinggg food!! Great price for a huge portion too.
Ordered a combo. Fried rice was passable but bland, shrimp and pork were stale, dry, bland, covered in a thick batter and deep fried. Would not go to again. I cannot understand the 5 stars reviews. The owners have obviously stopped cared about making anything resembling fresh and decent.
We chose this as a meeting place to exchange Christmas Gifts last night, our friend came from Abbotsford and we came from Squamish and decided this would be a decent place to meet. Boy are we glad we chose this one! The food was extremely delicious especially the chow mein and chop suey! 10/10 recommend those dishes. To keep it simple we ordered the dinner for 3, but we did add one extra dish to ensure we were well fed. The portions were big so we had a lot of left overs, the extra dish was probably not necessary but no regrets. The lovely lady serving us (I assume the owner) was very attentive and friendly, made us feel like we were having a family dinner at home. Weve decided we are gonna make this an annual tradition (but we will probably be back sooner). Thanks for the delicious meal and the new memories.
Amazing food!!! One of the best Chinese restaurants I ve been to since moving to Vancouver many years ago. Definitely the best in the North Shore! They never fail to amaze me. Fresh food, well made, and full of great flavour. The owners are also very nice :) Thank you for your wonderful service and delicious food
Chinese restaurant in West Vancouver, maybe I ordered the wrong dish. I got the shrimp with vegetables, wasnt a fan of it. No flavor and mixed vegetable was only bok choy.
Delicious reasonably priced Chinese food. I recommend this place if you happen to be in the area. Another plus is that the woman who served our meal was really nice and even entertained my idea of adding an extra item to my order. Very much appreciated.
Excellent Chinese cuisine, very friendly ownership!
Great owners that run the place, and their food is excellent!!
Really enjoyed the food. Lots of tasty veggie options too (=
Food ok .
Great Homemade spring rolls, excellent vegetables, typical Chinese interior (plastic). Parking: Behind the building.
Awful experience! We had ordered sesame chicken which is a fairly staple dish. It looked delicious but was very chewy and stale as if it was old, just heated and added sauces. when we told the lady in front, she said its impossible and this is how its supposed to taste. I love chinese food and have had amazing sesame chicken in past. I absolutely do not recommend this place.
Horrible experience. We humbly asked to replace our dish as it tasted stale. The chicken was so chewy, I wonder if they cook fresh. I do-not recommend. The lady was rude and said its impossible and that she can t do anything. And no takeout discounts at all.
Hope you find this review, please don t try food at this location. The staff is rude and wouldn t accommodate any requests even after being told the food tastes stale. Food will be served hot (basically reheating stale food) so chewy my head started hurting after a few bites.
DO NOT RECCOMMEND Staff is rude and food is horrible!
The food is so-so and lacks warmth
THIS RESTAURANT IS PRETTY ERIC BANGER
W
This is the best Chinese food I have ever had!! Absolutely delicious!! The restaurant is family owned and operated service was fantastic. They have something for everyone.
Very beautiful place and delicious food plus very friendly people Vegetarian options: There was an egg free egg roll and lots of other stuff Kid-friendliness: My 13 yo son came with us and they were very nice and friendly to him Wheelchair accessibility: Theres was a ramp in
Love this place so much! Great deals and so much food, I can never finish a whole combo meal. It s great because then I have a snack for the next day or later that night. They re always super fast to get you your order too!
Great meal, very good service!!!!
Always good there...its the go to food at horseshoe bay
Better than average, but thats it
The lady was very friendly and polite and the food was very yummy. Came in from Squamish. Definitely worth the drive
The best Chinese restaurant I ever tried. light seasoning, nothing oily, fresh and very tasty food. I highly recommend it
Good food, great service. If would eat there again. Dry Chicken with Spicy Pepper was the best dish.
Great service, food and cleanliness!
Read the reviews on this place so I thought I would give it a try with my family, DONT do it the food is terrible no taste and over cooked. I would go hungry before I ate there again. You have been warned.
Good food, staff are friendly. Quick service.
August 7 th. No need to ever go back. Very disappointed. No meat in the chicken chow mein or pork fried rice. Hot and sour soup is the worse I have ever had. And they haven t even updated there website since the previous owners so prices are different and they don t honour the 10% discount when you pick it up. Very very disappointed.
Reminds me of the Chinese place at my hometown. Delicious. Highly recommend this place.
I ordered chicken fried rice, beef fried rice, Xingzhou fried rice, and seafood fried noodles. The portions were generous and the taste was decent. Due to the epidemic, we could not eat in but could only take away. The takeout affected the taste somewhat, so we did not order stir-fry dishes. But the taste is okay, not like some restaurants that are too Cantonese-style and I don t like it. The owner is also Cantonese.
We LOVE this place!!! The food is superb. It has been under new owners for the past year and it is a *big* improvement. We live on Bowen Island but anytime we have extra time before catching a ferry we always try to dine-in or get take-out (or both!). The staff is very nice and the food is consistently good. We love the ginger beef, fried rices, szechuan beans, and much more. It is a favourite. I hope the owners stay there forever because it is the best!
The pros: Food is amazing Portions are great Prices are great Honest staff High level customer satisfaction Speed Open for some customization of dishes Cons (for some, I personally couldnt care less about these things): Not a formal place (its no 5 star interior)
New owners. We stopped for dinner yesterday and it was excellent. We had the Special hot pot and Beef and vegetables. The meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The service was excellent.
Great chinese place. Take-out was fast. Food tastes fresh. Ordered 2 different dinner combo for 1.
Best local Chinese restaurant . Why ? No msg,, and the food was very fresh with ample portions. Loved everything ordered. Fast and efficient for takeout. Everything on the menu was very very good.
Very tasty food and accommodating towards food allergies.
WORTH THE BUS RIDE OR DRIVE....
Clean place, good food and vegetarian options.
A wonderful and friendly small Chinese family restaurant which they take pride in their meals. Great value and good portion of food. Authentic Chinese fresh meals in an unexpected place in Horseshoe Bay. A busy little place.
Super and terrific.
No MSG, Delicious
We regularly drive from Squamish to have the delicious Chinese food.
The food is always good with quality ingredients. The portions are generous for the prices. The service is great. A nice place to stop by if you want Chinese food in Horseshoe Bay.
Excellent food and very friendly and helpful people out front and in the kitchen. Its a small space. It looks like they do a lot of take out.
Some of the best Chinese I ve had in all of Vancouver!
First time here! The new owners have owned it for a week. Fantastic food ( we had the dinner for 3 - we were a party of two adults and two toddlers with lots of leftovers). Excellent service. They were so attentive to our children. They were busy with lots of to go orders and walk ins!
Since the remodeling of this restaurant the place seems bigger and cleaner. The menu appears to be different and the food tastes different as well, but all appears to be changed for the better. The new staff is professional. They offer lots of vegetarian options. The food is prepared quickly and the serving sizes are huge. Great value!
Visiting all the way from Edmonton, AB. Decided we d give this place a shot considering all the good reviews. The food was great! Service was awesome! We ll definitely come back to horseshoe bay again!
Good Chinese food. Had trouble finding an up to date menu online, so I ve attached one for your Chinese eating enjoyment. You re welcome.
Food is very tasty and the portions are enormous. Kudos to management for keeping the restaurant open till 9pm
For some reason, the taste of the food has declined.
Food quick and good. One of he best fried rice my boss has ever eaten!!!!!!
I really cant give this place anything lower then 1 star. But I would if I could. Food was dry, bland and generally not cooked well. Had the cashew chicken while my partner had a fried garlic chicken and fried shrimp with fried rice. All was basically inedible. Dont go. Any other option is better in horseshoe Bay!
I like more the new management. Good food and service. Pretty fast and clean restaurant
Wonderful chinese meal for four of us tonight. Really tasty food and excellent value for money.
Great just ask for no msg
Nice people, shabby venue, cooked in a rush, served and billed within ten seconds? This was not a takeout order.
Mmmmmm...
Surpisingly solid Chinese food where you would least expect it. This family run restaurant serves great food at reasonable prices. Try their green bean dishes.
Old school Mom and Pops Chinese restaurant with large portions of good food for little money. What more do you want?
AMAZING Chinese food. Despite a lackluster external facade, the food is fast, hot and great value. We had a tofu hot pot, beef noodle soup and chicken egg drop soup. The noodles were arguably the best weve had in a while. To top it all off, the service was nothing short of excellent. We were warmly greeted and hosted with attentiveness during our visit with 2 young kids despite a restuarant full of other hungry clients. Oh yes, the waitress also didnt try to upsell us on any items. (I had asked for a large serving of rice and she recommended that the small would suffice, and more than enough it did.) The honesty received by the host and quality food received will definitely have us coming back.
Huge portions and excellent authentic quality. Very reasonable a personal favorit
This place is dank, fast and friendly service, good sized portions of quality Canadian-Chinese food along with more traditional fair thats well made and at a price that wont leave you wondering if it was worth it. Seriously hit this place up
Discovered this place by accident. Such good food! Fresh ingredients, not too oily.
I discovered this place a few years ago and whenever Im in the area I always make a point to come here. Its the best Chinese food Ive found in the Vancouver area, and some of the best Chinese food Ive ever had. Prices are fair, taste and quality are amazing.
Some of the best Chinese Food that I have found in the Vancouver area. And I have tried a lot of different places so that speaks a lot about this place. I even took family from another province here and they loved it as well. I recommend it to everyone.
Good food !Good delivery service!
