The food that I had left a little more to be desired I ordered take out which I think was the first issue. The take out container was a folded up paper wrap which is classic, however the heat had no place to escape and the batter of the fish got wet and soggy. It tasted good but the parts that were crispy were even better. if my entire meal tasted like those crispy sections of the fish that I had, it would have been great. Recommend eating in I believe it will be better that way.
Love the all you can eat fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 and bottomless pop ..... the location is nice here in horseshoe bay ...inside & outside seating areas .... its good money's worth .....the quality is like around between a McDonalds and trolls restaurant type for fish and chips .....I really enjoyed it and definitely will be back to this chain of fish & chips restaurant ....they got dine in & takeout window here ...parking around in horseshoe bay & public transportation around the area ....staff friendly and good service ....its can get busy here....the fish & chips all you can eat is all day/ anytime too ....I added the menu Pictures in the post
Authentic British Fish and Chips Experience! C-Lovers in Horseshoe Bay is an absolute gem for anyone craving the taste of traditional British-style fish and chips. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both cozy and classic. The fish is always fresh, perfectly battered, and fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The chips are thick-cut, just the way they should be, and seasoned to perfection. One of the highlights of C-Lovers is their generous portion sizes. Whether you're here for the classic cod, halibut, or even their other seafood options, you won't leave hungry. The tartar sauce is homemade and pairs wonderfully with the fish. I also appreciated the excellent customer service—friendly, efficient, and always with a smile. For those looking to enjoy an authentic fish and chips experience with a beautiful view of Horseshoe Bay, C-Lovers is the place to go. It’s become my go-to spot for comfort food by the water. Highly recommend!
We had late lunch at the c lover horseshoe bay location. The store was clean and staff were nice and friendly. We ordered the ultimate platter and two pieces cod fish and chips. All the food was delicious. Pretty basic restaurant settings and services.
I recently visited here and tried the Ultimate Platter Dinner for 2, along with a Caesar salad. The platter included a generous assortment of fish and chips, but unfortunately, the fish was a bit overcooked and greasy, which detracted from the overall experience. The Caesar salad wasn't to my liking either, primarily due to the Caesar sauce, which didn't quite hit the mark for me. On a positive note, the customer service was outstanding; the staff were attentive and friendly, which helped make the visit enjoyable despite the food shortcomings. Overall, while the service was commendable, the food could use some improvement.
Not too crisps for fish and chips, bought oysters and prawn add-ons. Oysters is very big and tasty, perfectly cooked. The prawn, the same as fish, is not too crisp. bring home and air fry them, and it taste better. Packets souces. Service is ok quite friendly but bit slow, I think they are busy, as during dinner time.
I know the place is famous for their all you can eat fish n chips; but it was not our choice. We tried halibut sandwich, cod fish n chips and kids meal which all of us were happy with taste. The only food item disappointed us was fried pickles.
I finally got a chance to try their fish and chips. First of all it was all you can eat for me. We also tried halibut burgers and cod. All of the were fresh and oily. Their Tatar sauce was good and our waiter smile were the cherry on top of them all. Very good experience and not so expensive.
It must be their batter Their fried onion rings and fried prawns are the BEST!!! Sooo Tasty!!!!
Its good, quick and consistent in taste and quality
Really good and fresh halibut. The server and chefs were also really nice
We were there on a busy noon time and was just before our ferry. The food was fresh delicious and generous In quantity. The packing was awesome too as we took takeaway
Delicious sea food yummy thank you
Amazing food, halibut and chips and the in-house tartar sauce is to awesome.
I used to go there every some months and staff were nice and pleasant always. But yesterday, I went with my family as usual but the service had gotten worse. The young lady who worked there was rude. She started with Is it your first time? I said no, but she said that she will give us her recommendation anyway. Then, when she came back to ask about our order, when I ordered All You Can Eat she notified me that You can not share with others. I said I know but she continued that if one of them saw that we were sharing, they wont refill anything. Even any of my family members ordered their own dish. She was very blunt and harsh with her words.I dont think I want to go back there anymore. I didnt even finish get to eat my food in a relaxed manner because they were staring at me as well.
Nice experience Friendly team Yammy food Nice prices Food : 5/5 |
Just yuck. Go to one of the other 2 fish and chip places in the bay instead
Skipped the all you can eat fish and chips because it s only finger size Ordered the Halibut and chips instead. Just ordinary fish and chips from any other fish and chips places. Food : 3/5
Our family went to C-Lovers in Horseshoe Bay on the long weekend and enjoyed the all-you-can eat fish & chips special. This was a fantastic value at only $19.99 per person (and only $3 extra for a sleeve of beer), with the first serving actually having a generous 5 pieces of fish. The food was very good, and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. We all really enjoyed our lunch and will be back at some point!
Very good fish and chips. Fresh and lightly battered.
Ive had C-Lovers for takeout many times but this was my first time dining in and I would recommend ONLY dining in if youre planning on eating at C-Lovers. The food was freshly made, hot, and crrrrispy. Ordered the meal for 2 which included fish, 6 shrimps, and 6 onion rings. Ordered an extra set of onion rings but ended up eating only 3 each anyway and took the rest home. Also ordered the clam chowder, which I dont not recommend but I would skip it. Their tartar sauce has always been a signature, though you have to pay for extra.
Went here for lunch with Mommy and the Kiddos. Had the 2 piece Salmon, C lovers Seafood Platter. Kids had 1 cod and chips 1 salmon and chips. It was really good, bo need to ask for more tartar sauce here as they give you a whole bottle. No gouging you $1 for a tiny Dippin cup at a time like SOOOOME PLACES . Really reasonable prices and the batter on the fish DOES NOT slide off of the outside of the fish like SOOOOOOME PLACES !!! So yea its all Seafood and it is the best. Try it out. Kid-friendliness: Small Appetites section of menu accommodates the kids orders. Worked well.
Great experience and excellent customer service displayed by the staff and well worth coming back for all you can eat fish and chips. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly and kid friendly menu options available.
Good food, fantastic service. Busy little place
Excellent fish and chips, and their shrimp is also delicious. A must try.
There is a restaurant worker she is rude to customers never seen like her in my life
They have rude staff. I really don t advise anybody to go there. I went there with my family and I request 2 tables as we were many of us. We were 8 people and she wants us to be seated on one table. I really traveled to every country and I never seen she bad service in my life and I still don t know the point to force us seat on one table
I absolutely love coming to this C Lovers for the halibut, fries and coleslaw.I love it when everything on your plate is delicious! We tried the prawns and onion rings and they were really good too! It s really nice to see the owner working and helping out! The service is always fast and friendly
Closet fish and chips to the UK fish and chips I grew up with. Very high praise.
Cheap, greasy, delicious. Good service
All you can eat Fish & Ships with a soft drink flat rate are available for 19.99.
As an Englishman, I appreciate a good fish and chips and this was brilliant. Great food, ridiculously good value for all you can eat with a beer, $22, and a top view of the bay!
We were looking for a place to have a quick lunch before catching the ferry. The waitresses were very nice and served us very quickly. The food is simple and good, and the prices reasonable! Nice diner style atmosphere.
I was happy with the service, atmosphere, food and scenery.
Food was good. Service was fast. First time coming to this location.
This is my favorite go to for AYCE fish and chips. The first AYCE platter is enough for most people. Although they use pollock, it is seasoned well and quite tasty. The chips are crispy on the outside soft on the inside. A really good deal. Update: The server Rene is very helpful and friendly. Makes your day
This is the best C lovers location. Well cooked food, friendly servers especially Rene. Great view from the patio
This is the best fish and chips I ve ever had. The batter is light, the fish is awesome, the chips are amazing. Gravy was great. Wow. I want to visit again and again.
This is my favourite C-Lovers location Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access Food : 5/5 |
Some of the best Fish and chips that I have eaten anywhere. Great meal!
The food was amazing
Good fish and chips
Friendly staff, friendly atmosphere, quick service, definitely recommend this restaurant to friends & family!
Good food by extremely disrespectful owner and waiters Definitely won t come here anymore Specially because of the owner and his poor management Atmosphere : 1/5
DO NOT waste your time. I can t believe they even dare to state they are the best fish and chips in town. We came in to get some food while we waited on the ferry line, which takes FOR EVER if you don t have a reservation. Most of their clientele is this demographic. Bought the salmon and cod fish and chips. They are EXPENSIVE. $27 for 2 pieces. Then they have the audacity of charging you $2 extra for each tartar sauce serving. We paid for 2. Our bill was well over $60 for 2 people. They gave us our order all packaged and taped up where we couldn t see inside. Bc we were in a hurry, we didn t rip it a part to look in The bag, instead we headed to the ferry waiting line. (With our car) They didn t go us any tartar sauce, ketchup, napkins, lemon, nothing. And the worst part was the fish AND chips were both dry and stale. I ve payed half the price for better service, more food and better quality. I called them from the line and told them and they said, come get a refund for your sauce. I explained you can t eat stale fish without tartar sauce. When I FINALLY made it down the wait line close enough to where I could get off and walk to the restaurant to grab my refund, they couldn t care less that they charged all that money, wasted our meal, and put us through this huge inconvenience. All the workers practically laughed at us and hesitantly refunded only the $4 for the tartar sauce after ruining our whole meal. I would not waste my time with this place. Believe me, I am not one to complain about restaurants and this is the first ever google review I do.
We should be able to give 0/5 stars. Skip this place, go to Trolls. C Lovers charge extra for tartar sauce and then don t give it to you unless you ask. Employees are rude. No salt, lemon, ketchup provided. It s a hard pass.
Best fish and chips in Vancouver
This location has a tranquil setting. We always like C-Lovers batter which is light and not greasy. The salmon, haddock and halibut were moist and tender as usual. The service was attentive and not intrusive. The restaurant has outdoor seating accessible through a set if large doors. Even the seats indoor were breezy and airy. Parking: There are a few parking spots behind the restaurant. 2- and 3-hour free street parking spots are available but fill up fast on weekends and evenings.
Always delicious
Best fish and chips Ive had! Nice light and crispy batter! Great service too! Definitely would go again!!
Delicious juicy oysters and perfectly cooked halibut. Opted for the caesar salad, so i cant comment on the chips. They got my favorite beer, pilsner. Great service, thank you. We will be back.
Great Halibut!
Stopped by to grab quick lunch before boarding the ferry to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay terminal. I was greeted by very friendly server and the atmosphere was very homey and casual. I ordered all you can eat which is a great deal because you can get unlimited fish & chips plus the bottomless pop! I really like how fresh the food was and it was not greasy at all. This place made me want to revisit horseshoe bay!
Food could be better. Service were fantastic!
first tome here! had the chowder and my son and I shared the cod and halibut platters and a side of onion rings. all delicious! Ana was a great server as well!! fast ,hot delicious. not greasy at all. thank you to all! cheers, Terry from ontario
Not bike friendly. They refuse to let me put my bike inside their fenced patio by the side walk. I explained to the waiter I dont have a lock but it doesnt matter. The cook shaked his head. I need to leave my road bike outside the metal fence. So i left and went elsewhere for lunch.
Absolutely disgusting everything smells and tastes like old rancid fish oil
Wonderful British-themed restaurant. Clam chowder is not as we we used to, but it amazingly tasty. Plenty of fich options and prawns were also very good! No other options to consider while waiting for ferry. Food
Friendly service and offerings were flavourful and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, my recent experience at C Lover restaurant in Horseshoe Bay was marred by poor customer service. Despite ordering take-out fish and chips and later deciding to order and enjoy tea at the restaurant, we were told we couldnt eat our fish and chips there, and we can drink just tea.Despite our polite attempts to find a solution, and pay extra charges to eat the fish and chips with tea, the manager was unaccommodating and even rude. This lack of flexibility and understanding left our child upset and our overall experience soured. I hope this feedback helps improve customer experiences in the future.
This place was recommended to us by a cafe owner . The fish and chips , halibut burger and the beers were lovely . The person who served us was warm and cheerful and took care of our orders . Service was quick . Food was warm . Prices are reasonable . And this place is absolutely fabulous to come and spend some time just chilling . Must see if you are in Vancouver . Keep it up team .
Previously frozen fish, warm bottles of soda, and do you want tartar with that...What? Think Captin Highliner is better for less.
Great food quick and affordable! Kid-friendliness: Friendly people. Always good with kids! Food : 5/5 |
The quality of the food was excellent, but the service was terrible! We were a group of 7 people who forgot to order the food of one of the group, we reminded them after 20 minutes, but they put it in the queue! Everyones food was finished and they still didnt bring the forgotten food. We told the owner of the restaurant, he paid the least attention to what we said. It was not a good experience
The ambiance is not very good, the food quality leaves much to be desired, and the attitude of the servants and manager of the restaurant is awful. So disrespectful, very poor customer service. I don t recommend it at all.
The only options I had for food as a vegetarian were the battered mushrooms and the onion rings, and thats what I ordered with a side of chips. I liked the onion rings but everything is deep fried and hard on the liver. The fries were ok; I didnt become a fan of the mushrooms. The party I was with liked their fish though!
We had lunch there yesterday. If I could give it a zero, I definitely would, even a minus. We ordered seven all-you-can-eat meals; only two of us looked for a servant to refill the plate, but they tried to ignore us. Finally, the manager came up to us reluctantly, brought only one, and told us to share it; was unbelievable. At the end, they watch you like a hawk lest you take any food out.
I ve always had good eats and a great experience at this C-Lovers. Staff is friendly and the cooks put some love in their food. Today I took my Papa for lunch and we both had small chowders and Cod Platters. The C-Food chowder says it had Alaskan Halibut, veggies, and bacon. From what we noticed, this was clam chowder with veggies. Still very good! The Cod Platter has (all breaded) 3 big prawns, 2 big oysters, and a big piece of cod. Fries and slaw joined the party. The breading was perfect and is a massive amount of quality food.
High five to this crew .. with all sailings booked on a Friday night they are open an hour later then the rest of any establishment.. they were super quick with a last min order as a possible spot could open on ferry coming within 10 min of my order. The managed to put out 5 before mine as well.. Thank you and your staff. Friendly and super accommodating service!
Poor management! Not respectful!
On first bite you could smell/taste that the deep frying oil has been recycled too many times. Both my husband and I had indigestion as a result.
The food here is amazing and the service is so fast and kind i recommend it the price is very amazing as well
Please do not visit this place if you have a special need child. The manager s behaviour is very aggressive and bad. I had my child with me and when he wanted to sit in a different table than the one he was sitting (ps. Nonverbal Child) the manager was very rude about it. They probably should put a sign that people with additional support requirements are not welcomed here.
Great food
Horrible staff. I was the only one in the restaurant and they insisted that I sit on a small table. They were happy to let me go away , and someone there played as of she was the owner which I didnt believe. Im happy I left . DO NOT go there .
If I could give 0 stars I would. Came here today and got the all you can eat combo. We ordered a 2nd round of fish n chips, we got full as usual but then I wanted to take the 2 extra pieces with me to enjoy later. But they said no as all you can eat doesn t apply to take out. So they took the extra pieces of fish we had and threw them in the garbage. Talk about wasting food. Absurd logic these people have.
Sad that even when you want to take home a few pieces of fish from all you can eat, they don t let you and end up throwing away the food in the garbage, ridiculous.
I come to Vancouver frequently and when I do I make a special trip to horseshoe Bay just to go to this particular location. Not only is the food and price reasonable and excellent, but the service is over the top fantastic. They knock the competition out of the water.
Its ok. Clam chowder tastes more like chicken soup, not creamy and we hardly find any clam. Fish menus are not bad though.
Forget the all you can eat. Go for the Halibut. Excellent fish and chips. Perfectly crisp and tender. Nice crunch on the batter. Fries were also very tasty and perfectly cooked. Must try place. Server was also Amazing. Food : 5/5
One of my fav
I was at C-Lovers in Horseshoe Bay at noon today. I walked in and requested the use of the washroom. I was politely but bluntly told washrooms were for customers only and there were public washrooms in the park. There was one person dining in C-lovers at the time. I am a senior and enjoy some of the disadvantages that come with age. I drove to the park and used the public washroom . I then had lunch at Trolls which was right beside the park. Troll s was almost full.
Best spot Ive found for fish and chips. Amazing.
Looking for a fish & chip place... this was a great find, we shared the meal for 2 and EVERYTHING was delicious! Great value for Great food. Bonus... they even had a Lager I liked!
First time to dine in The waiter are rude and not friendly. Very bad experience
Good things first: - friendly waiter - cozy ambiance - nice choice of old music - tasty food - almost reasonable prices - easy to find a parking spot Bad things next: - extremely greasy food that makes you feel really heavy
Really good fish and chips , great service and good prices. Not many places you can feed 5 good food for $100 these days!
The food was good. The halibut burger specifically. The bun and condiments could have been better. Maybe some added spice.
Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. When I ordered food, I was waiting for the ferry. I asked to eat inside the restaurant before my meal finished in the kitchen. He told me no, you asked to take out. When the meal was over, I said to him, Are you sure I can t eat it here? He told me yes, you cant. I am a restaurant owner. The customer changes his mind several times. This does not change my smile at him. Because the customer is always right in the business world.
The best.
The all you can eat fish and chips are just ok. The fish portions are getting smaller in size and they use the tails of the pollock for the all you can eat. Its the poor service I cannot tolerate any longer. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant and the waiter is on his phone. I call to him several times but no reply. Ive been a customer and resident of 4 years and the service has gone down hill. I will not be returning.
The halibut and chips are consistently excellent.
Always a great meal...
Very delicious food
Decent food at a reasonable cost. Friendly service.
I ordered one piece Haibut. Came with fries and coleslaw. And I ordered a Pepsi. Fries were perfect, coleslaw fresh and not too tangy, halibut was excelent not over battered. Pepsi great, not flat. Excelent meal.
Get your grease fix. Great shrimp and the cod was fine. Fast takeout window and super friendly great staff.
Did the all you can eat and it was good fish
Located in a cozy place by the water. Came in tea time during weekend, wasnt too busy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered the ultimate platter for two, including halibut s, prawns, onion rings, fries and coleslaw. Food quality was great! Crispy thin batter, served hot. Seats are comfortable, spacious, surrounding by of floor to ceiling windows. Overall was very pleasant dinning experience:)
A lovely place to have fish n chips by the ferry terminal. Freshly cook fish n chips they serves, friendly staff and atmosphere . My friend and I enjoy our meals every time we come and visit this location. Will be back soon! Parking: Free parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from parking lot to the restaurant.
Service was super friendly, fish and fries not greasy. But, shrinkflation has arrived. The hot chocolate mug was dinky small for the price of a regular. I really look forward to my warm drinks .
Best fish and chips in vancouver!!
It was the worst fish and chips I have ever had in Vancouver! The cod texture was un chewable and we asked the waiter eve if its a frozen fish and she confirmed and we paid 30 $ for a frozen fish!
C-lovers platter was awesome, the view was splendor, atmosphere and personal were great... Thinking about moving to the bay and marrying the chef...
Classic restaurant with quality food
The service was excellent - the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. One of the standout features of the restaurant was their all-you-can-eat dish, which was good and allowed us to try a variety of different options. the fish was still tasty and the shrimp was a standout item - we couldnt get enough of it! Overall, I would recommend Clovers Restaurant at the Horseshoe Bay branch for their good service, tasty food, and all-you-can-eat option.
Clean, best fish and chips in horseshoe bay. All you can eat with soda under $19...
Located in Horseshoe Bay, this is a nice restaurant for fish and chips, reasonably priced, with very friendly, polite, and cordial staff. The washrooms were clean and easily accessible. Portions were worth the prices asked. Parking can be an issue, but thats typical of the area. The restaurant is well worth visiting.
Its my fav place whenever I go to Horsesho bay. Actually Its a must for everyone whe they are visiting Horseshoe bay. Freshness and genuine taste fish & chips with friendly staffs. Cheers! Recommended dishes
Disgusting, honestly. The fries tasted like they were 3 days old and the fish was cold in the middle and SO greasy. Waste of money. Would not recommend.
Zero star for this joint! Ordered fish and chips on Apr 24,2023 at 6pm. The person told me the total was $25.15. I gave her $50 cash bill but she gave me $19.10 change. When I pointed out that is $4.75 short she became defensive, called another person. I didn t understand the language they were discussing on. Finally gave up and requested my money back and left. Disgusting experience from a disgusting service. I believe the food is not any better
I am making a very bad Review that the fish and Chips were not very good because (1)the fish was way too oily and salty and I didn t get enough napkins and the servers were very slow getting the food ready and they weee taking way too long very very bad review on that the fish wasn t very good at all so there is better fish and chips place like (1)Trolls (2)Olive and Anchor So C-Lovers should be ashamed about them selves. I personally had no tell them to hurry up because I had to go catch my bus Thanks Shannon Leclair
Horrible Experience here. We rode here as a group. We all have $5000 to $12000 bikes(cycling). We wanted to park our bikes inside this outdoor patio which is NOT in Use so we could dine in there. An extemely rude south east Asian possibly women came out screaming that we cant park our Bikes there. I replied, we wanted to dine in there. And she said, I dont care, thats what the owner said. Fair enough, they just lost business. Good Riddance now I have an excuse to never eat here.
It was very good food and workers were great . The best fish and and onions in the world.
Absolutely brutal service. Walked in walked out after being a regular customer for years. Staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. Simply asked if 30 minutes sit down was possible. The response was absolutely terrible couldn t believe it. Depends how fast you eat if your slow not possible. I take your order now, Ok sit down, Asked for hali and fries. She said ok. Then i specified i would please like one piece, she responded yaya whatever. Shook my head and left.
I came in seeing how quiet the restaurant was. Asked if I could be seated at the booth by the window and was given a stern decline, stating that although its not restaurant policy, that its common courtesy as its almost dinner time on a Friday As I was alone, I understand the restaurant business and I respect that. How it was delivered gave me a very bitter taste in my mouth. The waitresses were quite rude and stern. Then went off in the kitchen area and I can hear their laughter. The food was decent, hence my two stars. But their customer service is in desperate need of work. I paid for my bill at the front, still ensuring that I am thankful for their service with a smile. The lady who waited my table took my payment but failed to give me any eye contact. Just looked at the front door as she was inputting the total and passing me the machine. Very rude.
The worker barely spoke English, took 25+ minutes to get my food, fish was rubbery and the batter was still wet. Came close to missing my ferry, after waiting 20 minutes I then asked for a refund because the ferry had started loading. The lady laughed when I asked for a refund and after asking multiple times I never got a refund, only soggy disgusting fish and chips not to mention it was 36$ for a one piece of cod, deep fried pickles, and a 5 Dollar side of coleslaw?!? Steer clear of this place
Great place to visit on west coast and definitely my favorite in West Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay). Halibut and chips were awesome, wonderful taste, fresh, properly salted - everything was just right. Didnt get the dish with mushrooms, not bad but not as good as fish, good anouth to try. Parking just outside, 2 hours to eat and even walk around (park at the bay at reconstruction). And almost forgot, they serve ranch sauce and ketchup cooled, additional thanks to that. Ketchup taste didnt click, but ranch was great. Parking: Parking just outside, 2 hours to eat and even walk around (park at the bay at reconstruction)
Lovely place and they have the nicest cod and fries! Very friendly staff too
This cafe has the worst chowder and a rude waitress.
The waitress brought me the wrong order not realizing it was incorrect I ate it as I was hungry. At the end they told me the meal was a $34 meal when I wanted the all you can eat. They basically told me it was my fault. Dont go here they are a scam.
Found a piece of glass in my beer and brought it to the attention of our server, but was not offered anything as compensation. Otherwise, the all-you-can-eat is a good value. Will not be returning.
C-Lovers at Horseshoe Bay is a seafood lovers paradise. Their menu offers a delectable array of dishes, including perfectly crispy fish and chips, succulent prawns, and tender calamari. The restaurants cozy ambiance and friendly staff create an enjoyable dining experience. While it can get busy at times, the fresh and high-quality seafood make it well worth the visit.
Great service and delicious salmon. We are there almost every other week with my family!
Love it all the way. Staff are super amazing, friendly and I got my craves over satisfied!
We had the Ultimate Platter for two. It was very good! Highly recommend it!
Worst place ever. They just give you fries instead of fish chips. Waste of money. They charged $25 just for fries.
went to eat lunch at 1:00 pm Friday the restaurant was empty there was only two tables being used I was a repeat customer so I know there chairs are uncomfortable so I sat at a booth the manager insisted I move it made no sense to me because there was 7 empty booths??? so I walked out previous to this the manager sat down at are table with out being invited and talked about his RV that was weird because of him I will not go back dinning should be a good experience and he ruined it
I absolutely love this place! The ambiance is relaxed and trendy, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. They are knowledgeable and passionate about their work, and its clear that ensuring customer satisfaction is their top priority. The food is also quite delicious.
Portions are huge. Two pieces of cod, $25! It is beautifully battered and cooked, though... But expensive. Fries are so-so. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground level cashier and dining area
Ordered the salmon burger and got a very thin slice of salmon inflated in size wrapped in batter. Tasteless. The cole slaw was on the bun which was tasteless-need more sour cream. And the added 4 prawns for $3.99 are not prawns but shrimps. Again made to look bigger by wrapping in batter. Service was lousy and server gave us a cold attitude.
I had a wonderful time at there with friends and family. The stunning view added to the enjoyment of the evening, creating a memorable experience. The fair prices and excellent service made it even better, allowing us to indulge in delicious dishes without breaking the bank. I highly recommend C Lovers fish and chips for anyone looking to spend quality time in a beautiful setting with loved ones.
Honestly quite disappointed with our first experience. Stopped here for food as everything else was closed or closing, the fact that you dont offer any basic incisions with you meals and are required to purchase extra (coslaw, tarter sauce- we paid for 2) was off putting. Then we were passed a bunch of paper packages with no bag offered and had to ask twice if we could have one as juggling all that for take out isnt reasonable. When we got our food back to the ferry line, we noticed we only recieved one of the sauces The food was the most disappointing part with way too much paper wrapping. The shrimp were undercooked, flat, grease soaked and bland just was the fish; the fries, were so bland, no salt even. My take away, reduce packaging, included typical sides, and give more care to th cooking and servicing of your customers. May try again in future.
Fish and chips were very good. Service was excellent.
Must try! Super friendly staff and delicious food. They have all you can eat fish and chips. 5 stars Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu
always a treat for fish and chips. Basic indoor outdoor seating in the cozy surroundings of horseshoe bay village. The food is simple, basic and outstanding! Fresh like no other place I have tried, the lightly battered fish, with cod haddock halibut options, great if not best ever onion rings, fries hot not greasy tasteful hot and fresh, unlimited supply of a very good tartare sauce on the table plus a good choice of craft beer and wine bu the glass a super enjoyable dining option. Add very friendly staff such as the wonderful Cylie (spelling?), can t get any better than this!
Always great staff and service at the Horseshoe Bay location. The menu could use some updates as a better salad on the fish and chips plate would be great. Food
Normally wouldnt right a review but the service was not as great as I thought it would be. The head waitress (guessing that because she was giving orders to the other waitresses) First she served the table next to me that showed up 5-7 after me. Got them drink and gave them a menu. She gave me a menu and put it down on the opposite side from me. Took the order from the table next to me and walked away. I wait 10 mins and she told the much younger girl to come take my order. I asked for a water and had to get up after 10 minutes of waiting and ask for my water (that came with no ice). Wasnt ask if I need more water until I was done my food and ready to pay. Second I went to the till to pay for my food and she was standing right there and called to the other waitress to come serve me. I left no tip as the food was great buy the SERVICE S*CKS. If I could just tip the cooks I would have. They lose out Im sure Because of the poor service at the front. Anyways food is good but I recommend going there for take out only.
Really good coffee
Indulged in a truly delectable lunch today at the enchanting C LOVERS, nestled in the idyllic Horseshoe Bay. Our culinary journey led us to the irresistible Fish Platter, a symphony of flavors that left our taste buds dancing in delight. The symphony of flavors was accentuated by the harmonious blend of crispy, golden fish and perfectly cooked chips. Every bite was a tantalizing revelation, each morsel exuding a medley of deliciousness that was simply irresistible. The portions were not just ample; they were lavishly abundant, ensuring that our palates were treated to a truly satisfying experience. The restaurants pristine ambiance only heightened the pleasure, offering a clean and inviting space where every detail seemed meticulously attended to. The staff, with their warm and welcoming demeanor, added an extra layer of charm to our visit. Their friendliness was a delightful accompaniment to the meal, making us feel truly at home. This delightful combination of sumptuous food and exceptional service creates an experience that is hard to resist sharing. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a place to anyone seeking a memorable culinary escapade. Their diverse menu is a culinary treasure trove, offering an array of options that cater to every palate and preference. While the experience was near perfection, a sprinkle of attention to detail could enhance it even further. Imagine the convenience of having salt and pepper shakers, along with a tantalizing hot sauce, readily available at every table, or perhaps even thoughtfully brought alongside the orders. This small gesture could elevate the dining experience, sparing patrons the need to repeatedly request these essentials. An unexpected twist awaited us when it came to dessert. The absence of a dessert menu caught us by surprise, leaving a touch of intrigue in an otherwise exceptional visit. Nonetheless, this minor quirk only added to the uniqueness of the experience, leaving us with stories to share and a reason to return. In the heart of the picturesque Horseshoe Bay, C LOVERS awaits, ready to enchant your senses with a symphony of flavors that unfold in every delectable bite. Let the scrumptious fish and chips transport you to a world of culinary bliss, where taste and ambiance intertwine to create memories that linger long after the last bite. Parking: Free parking right in front of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible for wheel chairs !
Great service, nice atmosphere, best quality fish n chips ( golden brown, good batter, not too greasy like other places). Waiter was very friendly and the owner came by to check on things and have a chat.
Went for a walk and stopped here for lunch with 3 kids. Food was great. Kid-friendliness: Children where made to feel welcome Food : 5/5 |
They have stupid policies that you can t eat inside if you order from the window, how do we know if there s no sign . Overall, I would not recommend to anyone. It s a shame because I had heard good things about it, but my experience was far from satisfactory. Food
Delicious fresh fish, the closest thing to an Irish chipper!
After ordering, they kicked the dog out, despite the fact that dogs are prohibited from entering there was not a single sign and no one provided documents for this establishment, the owner of this establishment came out and generally behaved defiantly and incorrectly... I don t condone this establishment!
Amaziiiiiing , unbelievable fresh and the best taste.
The food quality is extremely good
Take out doesnt come with tartar or slaw. For the same price, dine in gets them included? Stupid system. No fine print on the takeout menu.
Small piece of fish- also felt like frozen fish fried.definitelly not fresh. Coleslaw was nice also good server
Friendly, competent staff, and good food. This has to be the cleanest restaurant Ive seen. I build/reno restaurants for a living and Ive never seen one this clean
Decent price and fast good service. I didnt find the fish that great, but maybe it was my choice of fish. I am also personally not a fan of thin batter, so that sways my rating a bit. The coleslaw was delicious though.
Good fish chip with reasonable price but little bit oily
Thanks for a great meal. My family and I are here on the last night of our two week BC vacation, I wish we had discovered it earlier. A second visit would have been nice.
This place was awesome, excelent service Rene (the waiter) is the best!
We were well received there on a weekday lunchtime while we were waiting for our ferry. The fish and chips were good and not expensive!
It would be higher but our waitress was rude and upset with us because another staff member told us we could sit at a table before she could and after she proceeded to talk about it with other staff in the kitchen in ear shot of us. When we tried to explain to her what happened she told us you wont get served if you seat yourself and we told her someone said we could sit here and she repeated what she said again. Very weird experience this is also a seat yourself restaurant
Fish & Chips & Shrimp Fry Good, very delicious.
Ive been craving fish and chips for a while now. As I was waiting for the ferry, I walked into town. Completely skipped over the bigger restaurants to try out something smaller and different. Boy was i pleased with the service the food and overall entire experience. Everything was phenomenal and above standards by any means! Keep up the good work yall!
Ate and left no crumbs
You know what your getting with a place like this, it s solid and staff is nice but very forgetful and no crunch to fish or fries
Great experience at C-Lover. Ordered Cod fish, it was delicious. Friendly staff and bustling with customers . Food
I give 10/10 Service was great! Food Came Fast! I got the 2 piece Haddock! Portions were perfect! Excellent taste! Definitely would recommend to anyone travel this way! Thank You Guys Great Job!
Best Fish and Chips in Vat
Great halibut and chips!
Good meal, quick service, but although the owner says the french fries are not frozen, I think he cuts them too small or cooks them too long. Or maybe its the potato type. Not nearly as good at five guys kennebec french fries.
Great food and reasonable pricing. Quick service. Highly recommend.
We love this restaurant!!! Food is awesome and at a great price! Its a fantastic place to visit while you wait for your ferry to come.
Really generous portions! Its always served piping hot. The only improvement would be if they could reduce the smell of oil inside their restaurant
Good food and pleasant, friendly staff.
You cant beat this if you love real food. NO FROZEN FRIES HERE! Chips are chips! The all you can eat is total value for the buck. The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. You cant go wrong eating here!! Take the ferry wait time to visit and enjoy rather than fume about it!
Had bottomless fish and chips. Fish was fresh and batter nice. Chips good too. Lovely waiter
Fresh and tasty - Halibut and Salad - Coleslaw 5
A wonderful little fish and chip restaurant.. The service was fantastic and the food was very delicious.
Great service and a lot of bang for you buck...
I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality, it was pretty good.
Can t go wrong with all you can eat. Though I didn t get past my first serving! Very yummy. Nice patio seating.
Got food poisoning from the cod burger.
Good fish and chips. The server was alone, but she was great at wrangling the customers.
Not fancy. Good food
Wonderful staff
Zero star for the people who worked on 2022 Nov 4 at horseshoe bay location. We ordered a take out special via phone call and then one of our friends was running out of time so we decided to dine in instead. We asked the server nicely if we could have the take out here. She said no which I understood because it s a different price point so we ask nicely to cancel the order and just go for whatever they charge for dine in. And we got another no! The reason was our food is ready. We still didn t lose it then, We went to the pick up window to pay and our food was not packed and ready to go. So we were basically standing there and watching the lady pack up our food from step one which took another 5 mins. They would be totally serving the same fish, unpacked, if they would have let us cancel the takeout and eat in and it d be better profit anyway for them. I don t get the logic behind. The server was too lazy to go back to the kitchen to even check with the packing girl. We lost it after that and I just decided to stop wasting my friend s time and pay for the dine in on top of the take out. They totally didn t see it coming, they thought we re going to consume the take out forcefully inside and they were very rude and trying to kick us out even we were saying we re paying again for dine in. I ve been coming here for 10 years. The level of service nowadays is pathetic. We still paid our 15% tips. Kicking your customers out is not a way to go. This is not how you treat your regulars. This is exactly how you lose your business.
This is our go-to place when we crave fish and chips. The quality is a bot lower than before but still a good choice with nice view of horse shoe bay ferry station. The cloeslaw wasn t that great last time.
Ok food. Service much better
Pretty good I go again Food
Always fresh & friendly... Take-out very large portions, eat in, all you can eat & bottomless pop offered... Food
