Like the traditional Italian town square, Casa Mia is an extension of the home: it’s where neighbours meet to catch up, where ingredients for dinner are picked up on the way home, and where authentic, delicious meals are enjoyed with family and friends. Casa Mia specializes in traditional Italian pizza, pasta and gelato.
Really nice and lovely Italian fare that is as authentic as it is and proudly so!. so much so that a whole bunch of things we usually order were clearly not here 'coz it ain't original really!. the quality of the food, the ingredients used, the ambience, the flavors all of them come together perfectly to build an amazing experience here! Lovely people who take you through things and food that arrives amazingly quickly! would definitely recommend this place!
Delicious pizza and best cotton candy gelato I've ever had! Loved the vibe of the restaurant, very chill and perfect for hanging out with friends! Staff were friendly too. My little brother is normally super picky about his food, but their special pizza of the day (blue cheese and pepperoni?) was so good he ate it all! I also liked their soup of the day, pototo with croutons on top drizzled with something yummy 😋 Personally, it's a little out of my budget, but I'd definitely recommend coming here to try it out!
Went for Sunday brunch and was excellent experience! Food was so tasty and kids were super happy too! The owner and servers are really easy going and sweet! We are definitely going back again.
This is an amazing place to pass an afternoon. The espresso is authentic and not acidic. Their gelato is first class, fior de latté and hazelnut stand out. They're not as busy at lunch time and the afternoon. Really nice ambiance. The owner is also really friendly.
Wonderful authentic Italian eatery, with friendly staff and great food - now serving dinner and lunch/brunch. Fantastic pizza and pasta, all made fresh in house. Very family and kid friendly - space available for booking cooking classes up to a party of 8. The best Italian food in town.
Casual Italian near West Van rec center. This place is open, bright, and airy with sunshine filled patio. It would be lovely sitting outside sipping a drink or two in summer. We had pasta and pizza and both were good. I liked my potato pizza. Enjoyed chewy texture of the crust a lot. Would live to come back and try their drinks and dessert next time!
i had an amazing dining experience at this Italian restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and perfect presentation. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend trying their pizza and homemade desserts; they are simply divine. Overall, a fantastic restaurant for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. I'll definitely be coming back for more!
One of my favourite places to eat! This has been my go to for any birthdays and events, I’ve come here several times for solo dinners with my husband and we also chose to have my husbands birthday dinner party here last year! Also just recently had a beautiful baby shower as well! I love the environment, the food (pizza, pasta, paninis) and more. The staff are extremely helpful, hardworking and kind. They did an exceptional job at the baby shower it was made into such a classy event! I highly recommend coming here either for coffees, lunch, dinner, and especially events where you can use the semi separate room with the large tables! We have also had great conversation with the owner several times and she truly pours her heart into this restaurant in every aspect! Absolutely recommend again and again! 🙌
Had the Pizza Mortadella and Gelato Stracciatella, both great and highly recommended. Very friendly staff. We brought home one burrata cheese from their shop, very very tasty. Update Dec.2024: We held our Company Christmas Party at Casa Mia. Maela and her staff took great care of us with delicious and abundant food. Everyone went home happy! Highly recommended to corporate events!
Excellent service! I love how the staff always great you in Italian, speak fluent Italian and are so welcoming and happy - also the two servers are so so knowledgeable with the menu making dining there so easy as I can ask multiple questions and learn the dishes well :) The gelato is so light and fresh - best gelato I have had outside of Italy I always get the Kale salad + Meatballs, my sister loves the Pizza and Pastas which are always fresh, light and authentic Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu items designated as GF and easy to identify Vegetarian menu items designated as V The staff are so knowledgeable as well so you can easliy and comfortably ask for information about any dishes
The servers are wonderful
Good time and very good service
The dishes were so delicious. I just found pasta a la carbonara like in Italy. Home made tiramisu was amazing Food
$10 Virgin Mojito?
We held my mums Celebration of Life here, and the whole function was perfect. The food was amazing, the setting was great, and the owner, Maela, was so accommodating and gracious from the setup to the day of the event. Would highly recommend to anyone intending to have a special event at Casa Mia. Grazie!
We went to a private event there and it was spacious with amazing hosts and wonderful food. I would highly recommend.
Food is excellent and the wonderful Italian woman from Florence was a pleasure.
Delicious pizza, excellent tiramisu and great place, highly recommended
Very tasty pizza few places in Vancouver have such good places
Maela is an amazing host and Casa Mia is a true beacon of Italian authenticity. Thank you for all you do to share the best of Italian cuisine in Vancouver ! Kid-friendliness: The best! They have kids menu, kids seatings, crayons and pizza colouring pages and kids gelato of course !!!
This is a great authentic Italian restaurant with warm family style service, great food, reasonable prices and good size servings. The pizzas are similar to those Ive had in Rome and Firenze. Prosciutto and Burrata is the winner. Leave room for the gelato flight for dessert.
ILA was amazing! She greeted us with such genuine warmth and a beautiful smile! We had the specail and we enjoyed the Gelato! We were impressed with the food! Everything is homemade! What a pleasure to have good food. We recommend to go and enjoy a wonderful meal here. We dont think you will be disappointed! Parking: We dont know the area but it took us about 15 minutes to find a free spot out front across the street.
We got bread as appi and the pesto pasta. Food was cold and not fresh. Tasted stale, felt like it was possibly microwaved.
West Vancouvers best kept secret! This places food is insanely good authentic Italian cuisine! Dined el fresco with friends and were blown away with the quality of the dishes. Highly recommend checking this place now!
One of the best Italian restaurants in Great Vancouver Area. Maila is the best, she makes you feel like home and the family vibes are in the air. Very good pizza, wonderful appetizers and a fantastic house made gelato. Would give 10 stars if possible Food : 5/5
Skip the Jet Lag and simply head to this West Vancouver GEM! Pizza, pasta, and staff all authentic Italian. You will not be disappointed in the quality and authenticity of food or staff. We ll be back for sure!
Awesome restaurant! Got the lasagne and it was delicious. Baked to perfection. Will be coming back.
Not sure which was better, the friendly staff or the delicious food!! Casa Mia was a wonderful dining experience and I already can t wait to go back. Thank you Maela and Hilaria for your warm welcome, lovely service, and incredible food the burrata e pesto is to die for
An amazing spot with delicious food. The ladies working here made the experience a very memorable one. Lovely staff, yummy food, and overall very beautiful restaurant.
Great pizza, wonderful appetizers, reasonably priced wines, cold Italian beer. Good service and an amazing owner who loves what she does!
Great pizza, but the pasta quantity is really ridiculous. We had spaghetti a la vongole, it was very blend, only a few clams, and enough pasta for 1/2 a meal. For the price, go for a pizza for sure. The quality of food ingredients is quite good, the gelato is just ok. If the owner is looking at this, it is an easy fix to add a bit more pasta and add a bit more flavour to the sauces and you have the 5 star back from me.
The food was good. However, the service was under average as there was only 1 server serving the patio. It took more than 30 mins the food to come after order, and the pepper came almost after 10 mins that I already finished 1/3. Therefore, I didnt order dessert and even the server didnt ask me. I dont recommend this restaurant to anybody.
Beautiful, comfortable, delicious and friendly service. Patio was the perfect stop just before walking my dog, as it s only steps away from the sea wall. The staff brought him water and a biscuit in dog bowls. I ate the margarita pizza and had plenty of left overs. The crust was perfect and the ingredients were of high quality.
A true authentic and delicious place to dine for Italian cuisine! Take it from me who is Italian and knows what authentic is! The owner is very passionate and pours her heart and soul into the business! She is a truly amazing chef, host, boss, the list is endless! She is originally from Venice and brings all the flavours to her dishes she hand makes and crafts to her beautiful restaurant! You will not be disappointed in the food you eat here! Be patient and be kind to the staff serving is not easy! Pizza Pasta Gelato Coffee and Mercato items are all
Very authentic, prepared and served in a good manner of time. So flavorful. Reminds me of Sorrento in southern Italy. Everyone was so courteous and aware. Will definitely coming back. Food
Food is very good, nice seating area in and outside. Bathrooms are private and clean. Service is very good as the owner was our server. She is from Italy so the food is authentic.
A fantastic spot with immaculate vibes! The cioccolato gelato is superb, and the prosciutto & burrata + funghi pizza are equally delightful. The staff are warm and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Would 100% recommend if you re in west van or nearby!
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. Not only the food is fresh and delicious but Mariella is phenomenal, so welcoming!
Fantastic pizza, good priced wines, wonderful appetizers. Great service and the owner is an absolute delight!
Salads just marginal. Pizza terrible! One brought to the table so burnt that when we got the managers attention she gasped OH NO! upon seeing it. The other pizzas were all cold and tasteless, the table was fighting over the salt and even that didnt really help. Probably the worst wood lired pizza Ive ever had. Funny thing we ordered 2 more glasses of Cabernet, waiter came and asked that was 2 glasses of cab right? Moments later he came back proudly stating 2 glasses of sangiovese? They didnt charge for the pizza but $100 for wine, salad, and appetizer a a completely ruined dinner. Biggest waste of $100 ever, should not have been charged anything!
Owner is lovely and really cares about her customers and serving great food.
Sooooo good! were the two words I kept repeating throughout dinner. Spaghetti and meatballs was brilliant. Everything tasted so fresh, healthy, and real not like other places where obviously a jar was opened and oozing with oil. Delicious, friendly, quick service, and a clean establishment. Dessert lemon tiramisu is a must light, not too sweet, fresh and perfectly balance. Will definitely be back!
Food
Poor service, food you could literally just make at home (and probably better) and it took so long to come. Not much menu variety and the furthest thing from authentic Italian food. We had a terrible experience in a group of 5 where three of us ordered appies and received them at the same time as the two others got their pasta meal. After we had finished our appetizers and they had finished their pasta we still didn t receive the rest of the pasta, about 30 minutes after sitting with our food and not being checked on we asked the server to check and she brushed us off another 10 minutes later we get our food and are ready to leave because we ve been waiting over an hour, the server acted rude and annoyed at us for splitting the bill individually and rolled her eyes and scoffed when she had to change the bill because one of us moved seat to get the sun out of our eyes. After wanting to tip nothing and one of our cards not going through the first time the server went ahead and gave herself a hefty tip percentage on the machine without even asking. Server has a blue splatter tattoo on her arm and there was no help or water refills the entire time we were there.
We had two super pizzas. The pumpkin one was really unusual but very tasty. The magnetite was excellent. The dough is so tasty and very very authentic. So much better and than the many many other pizza places on the north shore and their pizzas are well priced. The kale salad was simple but very tasty. The Parmesan tuile on it was so well prepared. Tiramisu was yummy too but could use a bit more of the alcohol flavour . The restaurant is run by a very lovely Venetian lady who was super friendly and helpful. They make their own sorbets I highly recommend this place. Would love to see it flourish. Some months ago we held my sisters birthday party lunch here too and it was delicious.
Our family of 4 enjoyed Mothers Day at this lovely little gem in West Vancouver. We were hungry after a day of hiking in North Vancouver, and while all the tables were full, the staff made us a special spot up at the bar. The kids adored all the dishes (pasta, pizza, kale salad), and we finished off the evening with gelato. The staff is so lovely. It is such a friendly and relaxing environment, making it enjoyable for families with children! Grazie
Sadly, not enough people know about this place! Very conveniently located on Marine Drive (corner of 22nd, by the West Vancouver Rec Center) with lots of free parking around. Had dinner there last night (DOG FRIENDLY on the patio, and staff very kind to dogs), and it was great. Excellent food and drinks in a contemporary but warm setting. The thing that brought it all together was the proprietor - just a lovely, kind and warm lady clearly focused on high quality food and service delivery! Try the specials - there were superbly executed! Parking: Tons of parking around - free on street. Kid-friendliness: Easy going restaurant, kid (and dog!) friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat, no barriers at all
What a great find. So lucky to have the owner helping us out. She has a great personality and makes this place everything it is. The food was amazing. Pricing is great. Atmosphere is perfect. So glad we came highly reccomend! - Jean-Luc
Wonderful food, atmosphere and service. The food here is very authentic and speaking with the owner, you can tell how important it is to her that patrons have an authentic experience. The food tastes home cooked. Loved the pizza - the dough was the perfect combination of thin, chewy, and flavourful. Pasta was also delicious and the salad was fresh and healthful. The space is large - it would also be a great place to rent out for a party. Definitely coming back!
GEM! Truly authentic homemade Italian food. The owner Mela is wonderful and will often make a special dish on the spot per your request. Top notch food, coffee and service.
This restaurant was absolutely lovely. Casual vibes but incredible food and service. Starting with the coffee, I had a delicious cappuccino. We then ordered a family style lunch starting with the green salad with chicken and this for very fresh and healthy. The tomato soup was lovely and home made and was served with yummy mozzarella cheesey bread. We also ordered diavola pizza and mushroom and truffle pasta. Both were excellent. I especially liked the pizza, it tasted just like those made in Italy. Simple with fresh ingredients and very tasty tomato sauce. On top of this, the service was incredible. The owner has such a passion for her work. We were able to chat with her a little bit and learned that she does everything herself, from the management to the cooking because she wants the food to be done right, the authentic Italian way. I will be coming back here, and bringing all my friends!
Great location, nice food and fantastic service Vegetarian options: Vegetarian option Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Parking: Free parking but limited availability Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Thank you Maela, and team for the hospitality! I was in yesterday from 4-5:30pm to take some branding photos and do some paperwork. Maela so graciously allowed me to use their space. I have lived in Dundarave for three years and when her restaurant opened, I was very excited to have quality and traditional Italian food so close to my home. Its all such a reminder of my mothers family in Edmonton, Alberta. Ive come so many times and so when I wanted to do photos just new I wanted to do them at Casa Mia Cucina & Mercato. Its such a welcoming and warm environment. The server who served me after for wine and appetizers was very kind and thorough. She came multiple times to check up on me, was prompt and very professional. Thank you again for your incredible contribution to our community. You have an amazing establishment and my family will continue to support whenever and however we can!
We had the most amazing Italian pizza ever. Went out for a family night, it has been pleasant, fun and entertaining. Kid-friendliness: They provide colouring kits, crayons and tic-tact-toc sheet Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access at street level, no obstacles and wide automatic doors to access the large saloon and washrooms.
Prosciutto burrata is for die for! It was an amazing experience! Welcome and great atmosphere! I will definitely come back!
Just the best Italian place in town. The food is amazing and the service too. Try the Burrata prosciuto pizza, you will not regret.
Absolutely belisima!! The food here is very authentic Italian. I had the Pizhe for the first time with Proscuitto and Barrata soft cheese. So yummy. I had to get the Lasagna again too. Until next time ladies. Caio!!
I did a pizza making course and had a blast. It was so fun and made even better that the pizza tasted fantastic. Highly recommend this lovely Italian. We will be back next week with friends. X
The owner of CasMia,Maelle, is so fun and full of energy. Authentic Italian thin crust pizza. Loved it
Staff were inattentive, did not come in to check in and it was not even busy. My partner s pasta lacked presentation and was dry. My pizza was so thin and wet I couldn t pick it up, had to cut with fork and knife. Did not feel like typical good quality Italian ingredients (sauce and cheese in particular) Gelato did not taste fresh/mixed well? Something about it was off. Was disappointed overall especially for such high prices.
Best Italian pizza in Vancouver
It was great for a first time experience the service was really friendly and will always help us and the food oh my god it was great especially the pizza
Nestled in the heart of West Vancouver, Casa Mia Cucina is a hidden gem that promises an authentic taste of Italy. From the moment I stepped inside, the warm smile of Italian-born Managing Partner Maela made me feel like family. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Casa Mia, and it exceeded all expectations, leaving an indelible mark on my palate and memory.
I once ordered a door dash meal from here and the pasta was spectacular even though it was no longer warm due to the long delivery. I came here today and tried it again, it was just as good as I remembered. I would come again and definitely recommend.
Amazing and authentic Italian food. Great service and location. Love their coffee, pizza, pasta and pastries as well. Perfect place to have a birthday party, date or business meeting. Clean, spacious and modern. Friendly staff, they also greet you in Italian if you speak Italian. This is so far one of our favorite restaurants in West-Van.
Pizza was amazing!
The specials of the day were the risotto and the trout. The trout was very bland and barely edible. The kids portion of the spaghetti bolognese was a sad looking half bowl charged $15, simply outrageous. Service was good but the food was just unacceptable.
Loved the service and the attention to the customer. Maria is great and the food well worth visiting.
Me and my girlfriend did the pizza making class for valentines day. The servers were amazing and the quality of the food was amazing. The owner was so friendly. We ll definitely be coming back!
We shared the Zucca Pizza and the Crab and Lobster Ravioli. As you can see by the empty plate, we couldn t get enough and the portions were a good size. Absolutely out of this world. Speaking of out of this world, our host, Maela, is the same. Superb. Highly recommend this place. New regular for us for sure!
The place looks good but the food is not that good, and the service is very slow. They should work more on their food.
Price of food is extremely high even for a single can of coke it was $4 and also ordered to pasta dishes.. service was good very welcoming waitress
Real gem in West Vancouver for an authentic Italian experience. Food is good, service is attentive and the tiramisu is delicious and done the way it s supposed to be (no whipped cream)! Maela is such an amazing host and you will definitely feel welcome to her restaurant.
At casa mia you can find an authentic and familiar Italian environment where you can appreciate a genuine and well done Italian cuisine. Every dish is made with love and products coming directly from Italy; yummy appetisers, main courses, pizzas and desserts make you feel in Europe s heart. The staff take care of you since you step into the restaurant and drive you between the different dishes. The lovely lady who served us suggested to start with burrata and go on with carbonara and funghi pizza and everything was absolutely delicious!! At the end of the dinner we could also buy some Italian products from the mercato area. We totally recommend it and we ll be back for sure!! Parking: Underground
We loved this place so much we ve been back every weekend! First off staff and owner are extremely nice. Pizza is on point with a crispy crust and great sauce. Drinks are great and their hot chocolate as part of the hot chocolate festival is unreal. Would highly recommend!
Great place in west for Italian food. Bi space Great for larger parties. Maela the owner is super nice. They also have pizza and cooking classes available. Looking forward to coming back with my friends and family to have them try it.
Great Italian experience
Food is wonderfully prepared, very friendly and hard working staff. Nice family atmosphere.
Decent food but horrible service! This was my third lunch visit to Casa Mia (a Tuesday at noon). The food is tasty but the service was ridiculously slow today. There were three adults behind the counter, who were likely the owners, but only one server ( a tall young male). The restaurant was only about 1/4 full upon our arrival. After being quickly seated, the good service ended. Approximately 15 minutes after being seated and never being able to catch the waiters attention, we had to go up to the counter and ask to put our order in. We witnessed other people also having to do the same. After ordering two beer, a regular coffee and our meals, it took at least 10 minutes to get our beer and over 15 minutes for the coffee, as the servicer had to brew a new pot. The coffee was undrinkable. The food arrived within about 20 minutes of ordering. As we ate, we continued to observe several frustrated patrons who also had to go to the counter to ask for service. The additional three adults behind the counter were completely oblivious to what was happening in the restaurant. They never helped or acknowledged anyone and appeared to be working on marketing strategies as they made up small food/drink items and took pictures. Although I thought I had found a convenient lunch location to bring my elderly father, we will not be returning after the service we received today.
We were a party of 4 that went there for some drinks and lunch and the server was really helpful with the food being equally delicious. I think they were also busy preparing for the upcoming hot chocolate festival which I am a big fan of and so excited to try their creations!!!
Friendly, attentive service and some of the best coffee on WestVan.
Ordered the lasagna and the cacio e pepe and was shocked at how terrible it was. The pasta tasted cheap and processed with a strange smell. The lasagna was nothing like the photo. The sauce tasted almost sour. They forgot my meatballs I ordered as well.
Have only done take out but the pizzas were awesome. Also had some cool seasonal varieties to try. Would recommend.
Great food, ambience for very reasonable pricing. Server Thomas is amazing. Always a good experience.
Place is great. We had the home made bread which is bonkers good. The pizza was fantastic as well and the lasagna was delicious. The place is unpretentious and comfortable while maintaining top quality service.
Delicious Italian fare and a warm atmosphere. The Panna Cotta was particularly delicious!
Great spot! Nice, comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff and reasonable prices!
We were craving for pizzas and ordered Margherita and Fungi. Both were one of the best pizzas I ve ever had. The topping was generous and fresh, and also the oven-baked dough was crispy outside and semi-chewy inside which I loved! Will definitely come back!
Mother in law s 80th birthday. Food was all great. They accommodated all the birthday girl s special requests. Had a lovely evening.
Good place to hangout with friends and family!
Charming and coziest spot to be. Food are delicious, and love the lil Mercato section. Delightful service. I would definitely come back, and wouldn t hesitate to recommend to anyone.
First time here; coffee in the afternoon and back again for dinner in the evening. Good coffee but dinner was superb. A classic cacio e pepe done perfectly, but the daily special pizza of tuna and red onion was on another level. Our new local place.
We came for Womens Day and we had a great time! We were welcomed with a Bellini drink and the server did a great job taking care of us. Food was good and the environment very pleasant. Would definitely be back! Parking: parking available on the street
Food is a bit expensive for quality ! We went as a large group (12 people) they wanted a minimum of $50 tor adults, $30 for kids ! What kind of restaurant does that ! We ve done min with places with music, live entertainment or as such ! But not a neighborhood pizzeria!
Awesome
With a full undertstanding of food costs going up, still a little disapoointed in the size of the 24$ lasagne. The take out container wa s half full! either get a smaller container or fill the one you use up!
Great service and food. Everything was super authentic (none of that pancetta instead of guanciale business or cream when only cheese is called for) with generous portions. We ll be back.
Great selection for food, take home Italian items, toddler gelato cones, relaxing ambiance, friendliest staff, and plenty of seating options. Rec for morning almond croissant & cappuccino to date-night with the entire family.
Busy place... indicative of the tasty food. They remade my dish as I found it originally salty, and it was made so well. Will be back! Food : 5/5
I am changing my 5-star review that made two days ago! Today we visited this place for the 2nd time and the service was awful!! Extremely disappointed since we returned soon to enjoy ... Unresponsive and inattentive staff. The salad came 10 min after the pizzas! We were told that they were out of dressing!!!! No one asked us if the food was ok after it was brought to table! None of the staff was around so I had to walk to the counter and pay the bill. To make the matter worse the place was literally empty, only three other people were having food but staff didnt bother to ... One of the staff members, guy in the photo, was extremely rude, the rest indifferent. Sadly wont do back again. Newly blossomed corner spot in West Vancouver. Food is delicious and fresh, staff are courteous and ambiance is modern and open. Pizza is very good, try THE FUNGI. Kale salad was dry but enjoyable. Staff is very nice and responsive.
The ambience was nice. Pizza was great! The carbonara was not the best though, I have had better. The pasta noodles used were way too thick! We wernt able to eat it. The service from the hosts and waitresses was of very minimal attention, i had to wave to get there attention, even though the place was empty
The food and drinks here are amazingly delicious! The restaurant is owned and run by an Italian and many of the dishes are just like you would have over there. Looking forward to the summer so I can enjoy the beautiful patio. Lucky to have this great place in West Van!
Thank you Isabella and Greta for your good hospitality. Tonight my friends and I gathered here for two of our friends birthdays, we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and good hospitality.
I like the ambiance and the ambiance was friendly specially Elizabeth and Grita
Nice ambience, nice staff.
Amazing food and service a must for good pizza and soda
Good pizza and fair value
Delicious pizza and pasta.
Super cute restaurant with amazing products and plates! I took pizza with prosciutto crudo and buttata, and I felt like I was in Italy!! The atmosphere is friendly and all the staff is soo kind! There are a lot of space, perfect for big groups. Highly recommended!
Finally an Italian location in Vancouver: I tried pasta and pizza and both were very delicious and remind me of Italy. You can t miss their ice cream and cheesecake! Beautiful location, close to the West Vancouver seewall. Maela, the owner, is very kind and qualified. Absolutely recommended!
Weekday afternoon lunch outdoors. 2 of us shared a Kale Caesar salad and a Funghi pizza. Both were fresh, delicious, and enough for both. Often Neaopolitan pizzas dont have enough toppings for us, but this one did. Good service, underground parking very convenient. Nice selection of pantry items. Will go back, maybe for pasta in the evening. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian pizza options Parking: Not sure how many spots are available
Fantastic food and Gelato! Been there twice and had the Carbonara, Pomodoro, Puttanesca and Margarita as mains. Loved how fresh and high quality the food tasted. The roasted veggies are such an underrated side, we got them both times. The cherry gelato was literally the cherry on top. I usually dislike when desserts are cherry flavour since it s typically artificial, but the freshness of the cherries with their light gelato had us going home with a Litre container.
Pizza is traditional hand made with fresh ingredients and is fantastic. Service was wonderful.
Nice looking place, but Gelato was subpar.
Yummy pizza and grill veggie salad, especially when mixed together. Very friendly staff.
Came here for dinner and was expecting just a little more. Casa Mia is more like a casual café than a restaurant. The food was good and decent portions. Great spot for locals, I would say, but its not worth the drive over two bridges.
This is my first time at this restaurant and I ordered pizza to go. This is one of the best pizzas Ive ever had. Next time I dine at this restaurant I will try other dishes.
Great food, service and prices. Atmosphere a bit industrial, but OK. They offer groceries in line with Italian meals(pasta, sauces, olives, etc) which is a plus. Dine in or takeout.
Amazing food amazing service!!! I cannot describe how welcomed we felt and how pleased we were with our dinners. A+ in my book!!!
I m pregnant and was craving lasagna all day so I made my husband order & pick up. We ordered two dishes and both of them were extremely salty and almost inedible. Disappointing. Probably won t go back unfortunately. Food
Good pizza, bottle of olive oil on table would be nice.
Got takeout pizza and meatballs and both were delicious
Love this little local restaurant, the food is fresh and delicious, real authentic Italian. Service was friendly & very attentive. The ambiance is modern but comfortable as if you are in an Italian piazza. They also have a nice patio - in the summer the doors to the restaurant are kept open so you can sit inside or out, very European. Oh and I LOVE the Tiramisu, very yummy! The restaurant is not in a noisy neighborhood which I prefer but it is still central and walking distance to the seawall. I always enjoy going back to this little gem. Parking: Next door underground free parking, plenty of street parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible by wheelchair inside & out.
The food at Casa Mia was delicious and the portions were large. The patio space was gorgeous and inviting. However, the service we received was below average. The server was not super attentive to our table even though the restaurant was empty. Additionally, when we were paying the bill, we were not informed about the 18% auto-gratuity. I understand that restaurants have auto-gratuity on large groups but we were upset that we were not informed of this prior to paying. A few people in the group tipped on top of the auto-gratuity because we were not informed. When we went to inquire about this, the server just said you should have known . This type of behaviour is not acceptable in service, as the customer should always be informed about what is going on.
Went because we had a coupon. Place was empty when we arrived. Ordered wine by the glass. Good generous pour. Nice Italian wine. My wife ordered a pasta with prawns and zucchini, i ordered Carbonara. Her dish was so fishy smelling and tasting, she couldnt eat it and returned it. ( had to walk it up to the servers standing around as no one came to ask jow the meals were). My carbonara was very salty. Too salty at least for me. They made another choice ( lasagna) for my wife. It was very heavy on the tomatoe . All in all, forgettable, not great experience
Very good Italian restaurant.
Horrible experience - food was mediocre at best, service was none existent and the manager was inept. We were one of 3 tables in the restaurant at 6:15pm on a Saturday night - that should have been my first clue. The waitress forgot the majority of our order, food arrived late and not all at once, I had to go ask for the whereabouts of my drink, and she didn t check on us once.
Excellent dinner. Great menu with excellent wine. They even had selections with burratta cheese that most dont. Also, they make their own gelato and it is awesome. Try this place!!
The pizzas were very tasty The lasagna is also excellent - recommended!
This was a to pickup pizza order.I don t mind the expensive side of it..they are expensive for what you get but the quality is really really bad. The pizzas were super salty, the dough was chewy and with zero pride for presentation. The worst pizza in years. We will never order from this place again. We ended throwing half of it. Sad.
Stopped for gelato. Took over 15 minutes to get 2 double scoops. The staff wanted me to pay first, so I did. I d waited good 10 minutes when the staff comes out to tell me that they didn t have 2 of the flavours I ordered. I was quite annoyed and frustrated already, so I asked for a refund (I know this is not a common thing to do). She insisted and asked over and over again what other flavours I wanted when I told her I didn t want it anymore. She walks back to the kitchen (they keep their gelato frozen in the back, weirdly) with a loud sigh/grunt! Rude. Anyway, got my tiny mediocre gelato cones, and I just walked away. If they had stated that they did not have such flavours, I wouldn t have had to waste my good 15 minutes in an empty restaurant for some low quality gelato, and I wouldn t be leaving such a bad review here. Just shocked how the staff grunted without even a simple apology. It s not about money. It s just basic stuff that they were lacking, simple customer service. I m not surprised by some of these one star reviews and glad I didn t go for food; would ve been such a waste of time and money.
Finally got to try this place. It is strange all around. Its not a cafe, its not a restaurant, its like a hybrid in the wrong sense? The lasagna wasnt fully cooked, parts of inside were cold....?! They cooked it further for us but that shouldnt happen. Pizza and pasta were ok, nothing special. This place has so much potential but needs work.
Delightful casual dinner spot. We came during happy hour and got several of the menu specials. The spaghetti was delicious, flavorful sauce, noodles were light and al dente. Others in the party got the meatballs and pizza. It was not crowded when we were there but it s such a cute restaurant I can see it getting busy quickly. While our server was great, there were only 2 people doing front service for all tables and the counter. Again, not an issue for us but hopefully they have more staff during busy times because I could see that taking longer.
Great Italian place. Good food and good vibes. Thanks Maela :) Food : 5/5
Great place to bring the family
Great people, good food! So welcoming! Plus gelato, and that s always a bonus
Love this restaurant!! Check it out a lovely young lady Maela owns this place!!! The food is delicious!!
Amazing food! Wonderful service! We ll come back for sure! Food : 5/5
We had a great family time at this place. The food was delicious and totally authentic. Yummy yummy!!!
Nice place to go for eat good
We ordered from Casa Mia to cater an event at our home. The food was perfect, salads and lasagna and breads. Maela and the staff were awesome and careful that everything was included, even the finishing touches!
Kid-friendliness: Fun Coloring papers for kids and they have a chair for kids. Food
Went there for lunch with a friend. The atmosphere was cozy. The hostess was polite and welcoming and the food was delicious. Will go back.
Checked out this place and it was a disappointment. 19$ for a Margherita Pizza that had hardly any Fior DLatte and skimpy on the sauce... dont think this new establishment understands we are in a recession and the coming inflation is going to put them out of business. 20 bucks for 1 personal pizza is nuts. Keep your pizza, i will buy my own Doppio Zero flour, organic passata and fior dlatte and make my pizza at home. Enjoy Higher Inflation Casa Mia Cucina. Ruba Soldi
Came here for lunch today and it was absolutely outstanding. Food was fast, hot, perfectly prepared and all the staff was so very kind. Can t wait to come back!! Thank you for having us!
Finally a place to call home! I tried few appetizers, spaghetti alla Busara and Brasato and was absolutely all good! I even couldn t say no to the dessert so I tried the Tiramisu and the Panna Cotta and they were amazing! I found the girl that served us very friendly and funny! Can t wait to go back soon!
An amazing Italian restaurant!! Incredible food experience and very great service. This is a must try!
Walked by and decided to go in for dinner! And boy we were not disappointed! Started with Negronis. Had an aged balsamic Negroni for the first time ever and wowee was it good. Meatballs and burrata (which I didn t remember to take a photo of because we ate it so fast) Pastas were perfectly cooked and lasagna was so unreal. Had this really interesting side dish of cabbage carbonara that I was skeptical about but was one of the most interesting things I ve tasted in a long time. Can t wait to come back, such a breath of fresh air and a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
Incredibly delish Vongole- maybe the best ever outside of a cafe in Amalfi. Please support this new restaurant- authentic Italian food and proprietor.
We dropped by, not knowing if the restaurant was open yet and were delighted to find warm service and delicious food! The veal tonnato and anchovy toast were delightful, and the mortadella pizza was a tasty surprise. For dessert, both tiramisu and pannacotta cioccolato were on offer, but the affogato with cherry gelato was a sophisticated treat. Delicious. We will return!
Very nice and welcoming place. Fast and high quality service. Food very tasty and in my opinion balanced and wisely chosen. Plates were gracefully served up. Will come back for sure. Highly recommended!
I really liked the pizza and the short ribs! The staff was super nice and the location looks really cozy. Consigliato!
Beautiful little restaurant. Was there for lunch. Would without hesitation come back for just a coffee or gelato! Wish them the best
Was there for dinner with a friend last night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We reminisced about our trip to Italy and commented on how the pizza was just like the one we had in Rome. The Affogato and Panna Cotta were to die for. We browsed the market section and bought a few things to bring home. We looking forward to returning and trying the other items on the menu.
Being there a couple of times already and it feels just like home food buonissimo and staff super nice, BRAVI!
The food was hearty and delicious, the cocktails on spot! Homey atmosphere and smiley waiters. Everything youd expect from a place called casa mia.
Great Italian food in a nice location. Flavora are bold and innovative. Solid execution and good value.
Dont bother getting gelato here unless you want to be ripped off. Got a kids cone for $5 and it was literally two bites and the cone had a huge hole at the bottom...
So I m not one to complain or even write a review however, this is a must! I don t even know where to begin however let s start from first entering the restaurant. The introduction is cold and rushed! The host looked unhappy and all the staff for that matter. The PRICE is out of this world expensive for what you get. They say they are Italian cuisine however, I know Italian cuisine as I spent months backpacking in Italy and this is not it! The pizza was a New York style and greasy. They couldn t even get a spaghetti and meatballs right and charged 40 dollars for it and it was so small. Which is not at all Italian style. The owner seems not aware of how horrible her staff look as they all look miserable. This makes it a hostile environment! I also over heard a conversation of a customer ordering a ice cream cone and it didn t even have a scoop of ice cream on it and charged 5 dollars. Yikes! The reviews for this place must be paid because anyone leaving a review higher than 2 stars is out for lunch. This is prime real estate and could be used for a better purpose than this. They need serious help or should sell the business before it s to late!
I had dinner here the other night with my boyfriend and his parents, and we had a lovely time! The food was delicious and the staff were all super friendly. We had the burrata (with extra bread) to share, which was amazing. The red grape agro-dolce was something Id never had with burrata before, but it was so tasty. We each had our own mains (my cacio e pepe pasta was delicious) and then shared a tiramisu for dessert. Im so excited to see a place like this in West Vancouver, and have no doubt that it will be an all-day attraction to locals in the area.
Food was overpriced, low quality and over cooked. No atmosphere- felt like you were in a bad airport fast food restaurant. Only redeeming aspect was our server who was excellent (in spite of what she had to deal with as a product). Would not recommend.
Made a reservation for the patio for 8 people, including young children and grandparents. we had appetizers, main courses, and also dessert - all the food was delicious! Access was great for the older generation, as there are no stairs. The patio was great as it was shaded (at least when we were there), and it had lots of space for the young kids to wander around when they got tired of sitting at the table. All in all, a great experience, and we will head back the next time we visit West Vancouver!
Very quiet, but no surprise for the time of day that we showed up for lunch. Super friendly staff, very attentive. Food comes out fast, fresh and is outstandingly delicious. There seem to be people working in the kitchen who truly do know their craft and come authentically from the source.
I came for Happy Hour and it became my go-to spot in West Vancouver. Staffs are very kind and attentive. Also, their gelato is so good. (Must try their pistachio) I will definitely come back for their dinner menu.
Great food, ambience and music! Loved how most of their ingredients are made from scratch!
The food is delicious!!... eventually a place where you can taste the real Italian pizza, the ingredients are fresh and authentic, the dough is light!! Pasta is hand made, amazing and ....Maela makes you feel as if you were in Italy!!
We went this place to try the authentic Italian, but gotta be honest the food was ok I have had better in Vancouver. Food portions were tooo SMALL for what u pay it s definitely not worth it we went home and we made food because the portions is incredibly small, Im 56kg not big person but wasn t full. We paid almost $100 and it was for 2 pastas and 1 pizza for the kids (2-5y) and everyone was hungry. Wayy to expensive and pasta is cheap review your portions
Your wallet and stomach will be sorry if you visit this place. I will make it short. Pizza was bad. Not Italian. Tasted awful. Pasta was mediocre. I make better. After spending mega bucks, expectation definitely not met. I also left hungry.
Food was decent but mediocre at best relative to pricing. Service was definitely on the lower end - waited an hour or more for food then every dish was cold when served while a simple plate of toasted bread took 20mins. Waitresses are either not well-trained or have never had any prior service experience - it took another 20mins for the bill, never checked on water refill, surrounding tables were not cleaned after customers left, etc. Would love to give this place another shot but Im afraid it will still struggle till then.
We loved this restaurant, the decoration, the service, the taste of the food, in addition to the delicious gelato. The food was served on time, hot and with a big smile from the waitress, which is much appreciated. Additionally, the tables outside the restaurant offer a unique atmosphere now in summer to enjoy a delicious meal and drink with this incredible weather. We are happy to come back soon. Highly recommended.
A little slice of Italy in West Vancouver! Love their fresh pasta and the product selection in the Mercato Buonissimo!
Great lunch experience! Tried a little bit of everything from a cocktail, appetizers, pizza, gelato and cappuccino, all super fresh and delicious! Will definitely be back!
Amazing food 10/10, Service was great. I would definitely come again
The food was some of the best Italian I ve ever had. The service was awesome with some very kind and enthusiastic workers. The environment was very nice and welcoming.
Casa Mia is a majestic and filling Italian restaurant, the food fills and warms your stomach with the burning heart and passion of the chef making the dish. It also has a very clean and reassuring environment comforting even the most anxious of people. I am glad to dine in this perfect representation of Italy. Ciao! Casa Mia
An incredible Italian Restaurant! Delicious Food , Staff super nice and friendly . That also have a cute Mercato where you can buy Italian Product, really good . Is a must try !
We went to lunch as a group of seven. We were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Waite staff was very attentive and warm. Food and drinks delivered right away and order taken for meals. The Margarette Pizza was flavourful and cooked to to perfection. Our young nieces devoured in a blink of an eye, calling it the best! We made an order of the Buratta. Wow. So tasty! Now the chicken, the bolognese and the ribs with polenta was shared with all of us. Each plate dish was empty and the flavours were so delicious and cooked and put together with authentic Italian flavours. We ended our Italian experience with many flavours of gelato. The wait staff, the owner and the very talented chef were all attentive to make sure we were happy. Thank you for a great and delicious Casa Mia experience!
That was a great find! I dont normally leave reviews but this was a must. Casa Mia is a delicious authentic Italian restaurant experience. Portions were perfect and the Burrata is a must! We ordered the margarette pizza for my kids. I barely got a taste as my 2 kiddos lapped it up. They said it was the best! My hubby and I enjoyed the short ribs and bolognese. The polenta with the short ribs may have been the best Ive ever had. My husband is not a fan of polenta normally but we will be back for more. And how unique was it to have the mercato with authentic items to take with us. I will be trying the homemade pasta and pizza kits for our busy family. We had a taste of the gelato that they said was made in house. The nutella gelato was amazing. Lastly... the drinks! The Aperol spritz and aged balsamic negroni (yep!) were spot on. I highly recommend it all!
We had a wonderful meal on the cozy patio, perfect location for a relaxing Sunday brunch. Food was delicious, service was perfect and the best coffee in the city.
We had a mortadella and a salami pizza on par with pizzerias in Italy! The Vitello tonnato so good. Store was beautiful and clean, staff were very warm and friendly. Definitely coming back here every time I m in Vancouver!
I grew up 5 minutes from Italy. Moved to Canada 5 years ago. So i found it hard to get a good pizza in and around Vancouver! But man, i have to tell you guys the pizza i had at CasaMiaCucina, can keep up with any Italian pizza i had in my life! Good job guys, keep it up!
Love this place!! Burrata is and kids love the meatballs. Pizzas are delicious as well. Our fav quick Italian dinner place in West Van and great takeaway
Wonderful staff
Great location, spacious outdoor seating, and I had a very good Americano. The pastries looked delicious too. A place to discover for sure.
Amazing! Had the salami pizza and it was spectacular. Amazing gelato for dessert too.
Service wery bad.pizza normal but lazanya wery .
We were excited to try this place, but we wer very disappointed. Expensive and the food did not match the price at all. Below average food and $$$. We had the lasagna and the spaghetti with shrimp and both lacked flavour and were nothing special at all. Also, the glasses of wine are a very small drinking glass. Nice ambiance but unfortunately cannot recommend the food. We wont be back.
I ordered the worst and most expensive lasagna ever. 26 cad for a lasagna that tasted like a microwave one. Dont recommend this place, dont understand the good reviews
Great food and amazing people.
Delicious! The food and the place are nice :)
A lovely local restaurant with delicious, authentic Italian food.
Very good pizza, authentic Italian! Love the neon sign, perfect for an Instagram moment! Service is great!
