Tried out Ssal Korean Cuisine for a Saturday lunch. Service was mediocre. There's three daily lunch specials (11:30am to 3:00pm). - Banchan - bean sprouts, kimchi and sliced fish cake. Kimchi was disappointing - Jang-uh dup-bap ($19.00) - deep fried BBQ eel was nicely done. Lightly fried, soft and tender. Salad was watery, standard miso soup - Gung-jung tteok-bok-ki ($18.00) - weirdly more veg than tteokboki. Wanted a chewier texture. Flavours were one-dimensional - Spicy squid dol-sot-bab ($24.00) - priciest bibimbap we've come across. Squid was good but the flavours were bland and had zero spice (waiter said it was spicier than normal) Wasn't impressed with Ssal.
This place had one of if not the best tteok-bokki's I've ever had. The flavor was amazing, the spice level was just right, and it was loaded with a lot of things like noodles, dumplings, a boiled egg and veggies - and it was only $15!! Normally, you would have to pay extra for things like noodles etc. We also got the spicy fried chicken as an appetizer and it was so delicious! It was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and the sauce tasted amazing. Our waiter was super polite, friendly, and helpful, so service was also five stars. I LOVED the cozy Christmas atmosphere they created with slow jazz music, holiday decorations, and dim light. I've been to a lot of Korean restaurants in my life and this is definitely one of the most memorable ones. 5/5 would recommend!
Lovely restaurant! Highly recommend the Korean fried chicken cheese flavor! It’s one of the best I have tried so far, crunchy and cheesy. The soup I ordered was pretty good and good portion size. The interior is cozy and the staff was friendly and very attentive.
We went to lunch during the week and it was very calm. The food was really good, I had a seafood hot pot and it was full of it. But they need more tasty garnish (they were not really tasty). The staff were friendly and fast. The restroom is really clean and beautiful. I totally recommend the place. Price is reasonable.
Incredible KFC (original), cucumber salad, kimchi, bulgogi and INSANE veggie dumplings. Terri the manager - always makes you feel welcome. I try to eat something different every time I go and I haven’t been disappointed yet. YUM 5 STARS
The most valuable Korean restaurant I had in Vancouver, there on were else you could get food that’s so cheap. I love their fried chicken but it might be to much for 1-2 if your ordering other things. The food also comes with some free sides.
The servers were quite bored as they greeted us. Instead of giving the three side dishes to each of the three who ordered them, they gave only two of the three and told them to share. The house salad that I ordered was okay for the price, but it was very liquid. I think the udon was better though.
Always good. This time had the Tofu broccoli salad. Seafood noodles and as always the Kimchi and fish cakes Go try this place out!
The food is great and tasty, the portions are big and a lot of meat , I love it
We enjoyed this. We got the cucumber salad, garlic soy Korean fried chicken, and the bibimbap w/ beef. They were all tasty. We used the chili dressing from the cucumber salad to dip the chicken in, which really complemented its sweetness with some spice. Then we put the rest of the sauce / drippings from the chicken into the bibimbap, which was tasty. (We found the bibimbap on its own to be slightly low on flavor, but that just may the way bibimbap is.) Will probably be back.
Some of the best Korean Fried Chicken I ve had. The Soy Chicken and the Mild Spicy is superb! A+++++++++
Authentic Korean food with excellent quality! My favorite Korean restaurant in Vancouver. I strongly recommend this restaurant as a Korean :)
If you like Korean food, this is the place you want to go.
The green onion pancakes are delicious and the chicken is also really delicious. The budae stew was also good. The interior is spacious and has a high ceiling, making it comfortable, and reservations are possible, making it convenient.
Great bibimbap
Delicious food!! We don t understand why this place isn t busier . Delicious, well priced food and drinks! We recommend people try this place!
Must try, the food portions to price ratio are generous and the service is excellent. Lheyla was amazing, she took care of us from start to finish; she had great recommendations. We had the dumplings, fried squid, and mild/spicy fried chicken... DELICIOUS!!
Great food kind staffs, loved seafood pancakes.
The food overall was clean and delicious. Its been a while since I ate Korean food. The soft tofu stew was the same as in Korea, and the squid stone pot bibimbap was slightly sweeter than in Korea. It was perfect when I was craving spicy flavor! Next time, I will come back to try other foods^^
Wow chicken was amazing !! All food was super good got the kimchi stew as well
Impromptu lunch today. Loved the food and service. Hope to visit again soon. Food : 5/5
I got the fried unagi dup-bap lunch special along with their soy garlic korean fried chicken to share with my party. The fried unagi comes with a soy sauce based sauce, which you can ration at your own discretion, a salad, and miso soup. I found the unagi to be well seasoned and cooked, while the breading was nice and crispy. The salad and miso soup were acceptable. Their fried chicken was evenly coated in their soy garlic sauce, the breading was crispy, and the chicken was very tender. I do believe the highlight of this restaurant was the service and atmosphere, however. The walls were decorated with things such as what somaek and chimaek were, which I found to be a nice touch, and the tables were all very separated, which I also appreciated, as its often a rarity to have so much space between tables nowadays. As for the service, it definitely exceeded my expectations and was probably the best service Ive ever received. The person serving our table (I wasnt able to grab the name, sorry!) went above and beyond for us. Even though we were the only table being served, I feel like it wouldve been just as easy for her to mostly ignore us, or not give us the service she did. This was the only time Ive felt like giving a 15% tip would not be doing justice to the quality of the service received. All of that is to say, I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try.
I was really disappointed with the food. Especially the spicy pork!I cannot even tell this is spicy pork at first glance. I m not recommending here at all and have no idea why this restaurant gets such good review. I brought guests (non-Korean) based on the reviews regrettably. The portions are also not adequate based on the price (although this might have something to do with being in an expensive neighbourhood). Finally the stone bowl Bibimbap is drained in oil at the bottom. Never coming back again.
Great food and great service! Our server Tyler was very attentive and friendly.
Always been a regular here for their fried chicken. Prices have gone up recently but the portions are always admirable and the taste never changed. Always go for the half and half boneless - one original and the other spicy. Good oil quality and good chicken quality.
I usually take out their chicken and seafood pancake. Even if it takes long time to get home, the food keeps warm and crispy. It s really nice Korean restaurant ever! Food
This has morphed from its original Korean Japanese to authentic Korean. Prices are quite reasonable with dinner for as low as $17. Good sized servings and authentic
Incredible food and service! Will come back for sure.
I highly recommend this place. Atmosphere is excellent and very quiet that you can enjoy. Foods are very awesome. I ate galbijim and the meat was so soft and had excellent taste. Employees were so kind and bright there that I felt good eating. *Reminder to one of the employee, I left a little bit of food last time I went there. I hope you know it wasn t because I didn t like it it was because I was to full because I ate some of my mothers food too
Best kept secret for Korean food in the city. Everything was so flavorful. Service is excellent
Food is great ! A true gem of comfort food . Healthy and hearty. The waitress ate very genuine and lovely , just the place can get a bit cold but other than that I d highly recommend this bistro.
We are hoping Ssal would add Jajangmeyon soon! I will order everyday! Thumb up if you want jajanggmeyon too! Foods and services are top notch!
Love this place!!! Staff is very polite and the food is authentic with more options added to their menu. Can t go wrong with anything that has Bulgogi (yum)! Clean, spacious and worth checking out.
I was super impressed with this bistro tonight! It was my first time in and my friend and I enjoyed a few amazing dishes. The K Chicken is out of this world delicious, and the bulgogi beef and our japchae noodle dish was excellent! The service was gracious, attentive, and perfect! The atmosphere was wonderful as well. I will be back, and bringing friends to experience this very special bistro!
Reina was just absolutely lovely! We asked for her recommendations and she did not disappoint. The husband is gluten intolerant and she checked in with the kitchen and was able to accomodate. I had the spicy gal-bi with a side of rice, and the husband got the stone bowl bibimbap with tamari on the side. The gal-bi portion was generous and scrumptious - I crushed the entire plate. She offered to bring out more of the side dishes (kimchi, picked radish, sprouts, etc) but we didnt need it. I really enjoyed the food, and would most definitely return to try other things on the menu. The service was outstanding; Reina made the experience even better! My only regret was not taking photos to share!
Hot stone bibimbap was so delicious! Service was amazing, thanks for the extra chicken
Ssal is one of the few places on the North Shore that serves authentic Korean food, like dwenjang jjigae and ojingeo bbokeum. Reina was my waitress, and, despite being the only server on a Friday evening (with a ton of customers!), was so warm and helpful. I hope she knows that her efforts are appreciated!
Everything was great and we were very surprised by the big portions. Needless to say, we did not walk away with an empty stomach.
Best fried chicken on the north shore! The staff are wonderful and its priced really well. Its literally one of the few things our fussy eater will enjoy
Waitress was informative, kind and prompt with service. Food was perfect and well priced. 100% worth a visit
I really enjoyed the spicy k chicken here. They also have stone bowl for bibimbap! So good, highly recommend. Staff are friendly
Their lunch $16 is delicious and such good value!
Best Pajeon in Vancouver
The best Korean restaurant in the Northshore. Must try the seafood pancake with makkoli (fermented korean rice wine) balgoogi is fantastic. Love the pork dumplings. Great deep fried Korean chicken. All and all great food and service. Sorry no photos we ate everything too fast.
Very fresh, very good quality and decent price.
Absolutely delicious lunch today at Ssal! We ordered the spicy boneless fried chicken, galbi-jjjm and Tteokbokki. Everything was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
High quality food and friendly service. We love to come for the lunch sushi and sashimi special which includes generous portions of fresh fish, dumplings, salad and tempura. For Dinner we like to order the Korean fried chicken and the spicy pork or bulgogi. A neighborhood favourite!
Lunch special was delicious and good portioned. Service was great too.
Excellent food! Excellent service! Big portions! Yummy fried chicken! Cant get enough of this great restaurant...
EDIT: Update Decided to give this place another try. I can t speak for the sushi but the Korean food and Fried Chicken was fantastic. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the music and atmosphere was very relaxing. So glad I came back :) Original review from 2021: Disappointed with new ownership. This place used to have incredible fried chicken and fried rice. I tried it out since it re opened - the sushi was a saucy mess and the fried chicken was just devastating. I seriously mean it, horrible. Too bad, hopefully they can turn it around but there s no way this is going to work as is.
Sashimi was really fresh and flavourful, great vegetable gyoza. Although miso soup is somewhat watery and salty, still ok.
The staff was very friendly. Dining area was spacious and clean. I bought my chicken to-go and it was still very warm by the time I brought it home. Yum! I will be back to try Korean food also. Food
Get. The. Fried. Chicken Well, everything was good actually. But trust... Get the chicken. Food : 5/5
I love this place the service is super good and I really recommend the beef soondubu
Oh, it tastes so bad
Nice friendly atmosphere. I had the Bibimbap hot stone bowl with the beef added. Delicious. The staff had patience with all my questions and were polite and super attentive. Had the hot sake too. Very good. Highly recommend.
The braised ribs are really delicious. All the other foods are delicious, but the braised ribs are the best Galbi jjim is the best
SO GOOD!! Very delicious, food quality is amazing!! Galbi jjim is soo delicious. Also the service is great. Id recommend to people who want to have a high quality korean food :)
I went with a friend, and the food was cleaner and more delicious than I expected~~ Spicy braised ribs and chicken and beer... I want to eat them again~~
Everything was excellent, especially Woo-dae galbi jjim was amazing! The BEST Korean food ever! Also dining area was so clean and cozy, the staff were very freindly! We will definately come back again! :) Food : 5/5
So delicious
Anna, I am the person who visited the restaurant with my friend earlier :) I have lived in BC for a total of 13 years and I think this is the best Korean restaurant. Especially the green onion pancakes were so delicious. The green onion pancakes are the best. The stir-fried pork was also very delicious! My friend ordered stir-fried squid, and he also said that this was his first time eating such delicious Korean food in Canada while traveling for three weeks! I ordered so much that I didn t think I could order tteokbokki All the food was delicious, so I just ordered the tteokbokki But it was really delicious I enjoyed it so much!
A near perfect Korean meal experience. Excellent service from accommodating staff and at reasonable prices.
Amazing to come across a summer deal ($5 draft beer) today! Great place to try authentic Korean cuisine. I sometimes go eat Korean food here, being satisfied with their menu and service. There are now so many new Korean dishes on the menu compared to last summer. Will definitely make some more visits with my friends again before this summer s gone.
Its a delicious and good service restaurant in the middle of Vancouvers Korean food scene The staff was friendly and the food was very delicious
Best Korean food in West Vancouver
Every time I order for delivery I ask for utensils and they don t include it. theres a reason I ask for it so I can eat it. Am I supposed to eat the food with barehands? Now I m hungry with no way to eat it. Thanks for wasting my money
Great food and service! Prompt, attentive, friendly. Highly recommended.
Everything at this restaurant was super delicious especially the seafood pancake which was very crispy and top was shredded imitation crab. There was also a lot of things in the soybean stew. Overall, the place does not skimp on ingredients and the pricing is still very good. Service was friendly and restaurant is very spacious. Will definitely come back
We ordered 4 things on the menu to share for 3 people. We were amazed by the foods! The beef short ribs were soooo tender that fell off the bones and for reasonable price !! the bossam, soon du bu and pancake were sooo good too!! they refill our table side dish 3 times as we ran out( plus point) We will probably come back and try other things on the menu!!! P/s: we ordered some K-chicken for the night as we read some good reviews for it. that was so trueeee
Short ribs were undercooked and disappointed to find out there were no pickled items with my take out fried chicken, only a tablespoon of kimchi.
First time here and very impressed! In a world of expensive and declining food quality, this place is gold. Bipimbap with beef was sooooo yummy and fresh. Generous portion for only $17. Clean and funky atmosphere. Highly recommend!
This was our first time trying this restaurant. We love Korean food, and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. We had the seafood pancake, the Korean short ribs and spices squid. The service was excellent and restaurant very clean. Thank you
Good bibimbap in a stone bowl but on the pricey side. Meat is extra. Overall a good experience
EXCELLENT meal! Waitress was awesome and very helpful at explaining the menu! Food was fantastic and had just the right amount of spiciness! Thank you Mike and Ally
Amazing Korean food! Love the steamed dumplings and many more dishes at this place! Service is always great! Restaurant is clean and well maintained. Yummy! See you soon.
There were only two servers and was quite busy but they take a long time to seat you, give you water, take your order, and for the food to come. If youre in a rush to quickly eat and leave, I wouldnt recommend this place. The food was alright, theres definitely better Korean restaurants elsewhere in Greater Vancouver. Unfortunately, I think this is the only Korean restaurant in West Van. The soup needed more seasoning; their japchae noodles were overcooked so it was sloppy, and I think they added too much sesame oil. I wouldnt come back.
Great food! Lovely staff who were so helpful! And the atmosphere was perfect. And beautifully decorated for Christmas
Good Korean restaurant in Wevan Its spacious, clean, and tastes good~
Golden rule of Korean restaraunts, if they get the basics right, they are worthy. Stopped by for lunch and got the Dolsot Bibimbap and it was done well, not the best I ever had but worth returning for. Next time it will be another standard, Pajeon. If they get that right they have a loyal customer. Oh! And the price was right too.
I ordered takeaway and I was very impressed. The lunch set came in a beautiful bento box and the tempura was light and crisp despite its travel time. Overall, its a bit more expensive than my usual sushi places, but the portions are generous and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
This is a Fusion Korean-Japanese restaurant. Nice location with great vibe and very friendly staff. Their prawn tempura was really good. Their flame rolls were great in term of presentation, quality, taste and portion however it s a bit pricy ($18-23). The sweet chilli sauce they used for some of their rolls is too sweet which is the only thing I did not like.
Lovely service and great food! Best sushi in west van. Definitely will come back more often.
Great great!! If you see this, you must go here! Newer interior clean friendly staffs most of all aaaawesome dishes.
Oh the chicken...so good. Gyoza, bulgogi, 5stars.
Great service from the start. Food was delicious! Very attentive :)!
Excellent Korean food. The K-Chicken was pretty awesome, we had a few pieces of nigiri which was fresh and delicious. Also ordered Bulgogi which was sizzling and yummy and. Gluten-free. Service was nice and polite. We arrive at a quiet time and enjoyed our experience. Nice ambiance and very clean place.
Great food, great service, and Amazing atmosphere
Perfect combination for real taste of Sushi . Enjoyed it . Thank you
First time for me and fourth time for my girlfriend, she really did an amazing recommandations . Such gold food taste and quality with an amazing service on top! Greatly recommand and will be coming back for sure ! Wow !
On a trip to Vancouver we stopped here to satisfy a craving of fresh sushi, and we were so happy with the customer service and quality of food! It was so delicious and I would definitely come back!
First of all, the food tastes good. The staff (I remember her as Anna) was so friendly that I ate with a comfortable mind. There is Wi-Fi and the restaurant is very clean, so I think young people and foreigners will really like it. If I ever come to West Van again, I will definitely stop by again.
Great Korean dishes! Everything was delicious. Definitely try it out and Im sure youll think the same thing. I had the lunch special and everything was prepared perfectly! I will be back! Highly recommended. Great service and fast excellent food!
Wonderful and quiet Korean-Japanese restaurant. Their spicy squid is amazing and the vibe is always chill.
*West Vancouver Hidden Gem* I was so thrilled to find this hidden gem on the North Shore. Cozy, delicious, and generous, Ssal Restaurant is a total find. The portions are big and a great value. We sat down and they brought us complementary miso soup, which was perfect on this rainy afternoon. They had $5 draft beers and we gorged on crispy and juicy Korean Fried Chicken and super tender short ribs. I had some fried chicken left over to bring home and they brought me an extra side of pickles. This is precisely the type of local restaurant that I love to support. The food is spectacular. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I looked over the menu and tried the soft tofu soup with beef and while the menu items were slightly pricey, the food tasted absolutely amazing and the restaurant looked clean and had a nice atmosphere. The waiter was also kind and welcoming. Its not really casual dining but I would still recommend friend groups and families come dine here. I am also excited more restaurants with quality food are opening here in West Vancouver
I was definitely a bit disappointed in the food. I ordered a sashimi salad. I thought it was quite overpriced for what it was ( $16 ). Overall the salad was quite bland and the sashimi was not too fresh.
Excellent food. Especially the Korean fried chicken. The rolls are good. Lunch set is very good deal. Very friendly service. Nice and spacious environment.
If you wish to experience authentic Korean cuisine, it s the place. The restaurant was clean, and not that busy, on a Sunday lunchtime. There were selections of Japanese meals available on the menu as well, but who would go to a Korean restaurant to taste Japanese meals? Except for my kid who loves sushi and no matter where we are, he is looking for sushi. So a bonus point for the restaurant if your guest didn t like any Korean selections on the menu, but preferred to try an Asian alternative.
Tasty as always best fried chicken in town!
We had crazy boy which is the deep fried sushi roll! It was some of the best sushi I ve ever had! The teriyaki chicken order was also delicious and sizzling as it was written in the menu.
The overall experience was positive, the restaurant is spacious and the waitresses are extremely friendly. We didnt try their Japanese style dishes, so I cant comment on them, but the Korean dishes we had are delicious. Although, I was disappointed with the lack of side dishes that you usually have in other Korean restaurants. The portions are also quite small for the price.
Always fresh, friendly staff, good value. 5/5
The dining environment is great and feel comfortable, all food servers are warm and thoughtful. They provide very delicious foods fresh and tasty! We really love to eat here, one of our favorite restaurant, highly recommend
Probably the best Sushi restaurant in the whole North Shore. The sad thing is that no one realizes what they are missing. Even I was guilty of this the first time I came here ladt summer. Our group ordered Bibimbap, Korean Fried Chicken, Chapchae and their Sushi Pizza. These were all really good and made us regulars. Last week I brought my extended family over and some of us had their Chirashi Don. We all agreed that this was one of the best in all of Greater Vancouver. The selection of the fish and the freshness were amazing. It was so good that I returned again tonight to get my Chirashi fix. I suggeat that if you are looking for amazing and affordable sushi, sashimi or maki rolls then Ssal is the place. The ambiance is also very nice and simple and their jazz music just makes it all even better. The wait staff sre extremely attentive and super friendly. This evening I had Liz but the other lady was also very very good.
Food great, people are great and friendly, environment are fabulous and clean Supper good time here
Delicious meal! Great service - fast and very courteous! Will definitely come back for more!
Best Bibimbap ever And k-chicken
So delicious! One of the best meals Ive had in awhile. Highly recommend!
Can t comment about the service or ambience as I had my order delivered, but food was tasty! Had the fried chicken (soy and spicy). I m glad there s more Korean cuisine options in the neighbourhood! Looking forward to dining-in in the future.
Its very clean, cute spot for Korean food. Nice presentation! They offered extra side dishes. The deep fried dumplings and salad has great texture, the salad taste refreshing, acidic. The soups come with perfectly cooked rice. They do lots of take out with skip the dishes! I would come back to try more of their dishes, try their octopus, and review the depth of flavours! Parking around the block. Washrooms are clean. Customer service was excellent! Thank you.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. For the price you receive decent portions plus soup and tea with your main. I ordered the original bibimbop and it had tons of flavor and veggies. First time Ive had bibimbop in a regular bowl and not a hot plate which caused food to go a bit cold, but overall I would still recommend and will be back again soon!
Big portions and quality made food! Short staffed as it seemed to be run by a local family but they sure work hard and it comes out in the food. Delicious!
Great restaurant love the crispy pork bulgogi and the fried chicken.
Highly recommend the lunch sets! The bulgogi is delicious (comes with lots of veggies) and the spicy tofu soup is very hearty. The portion size is larger than expected as well. 10/10 would come back again!
A korean restaurant with almost no beef on the menu, disappointing. Really wanted to enjoy this local place
Some of the best Korean fried chicken and bibimbap Ive had in Vancouver!
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely Korean restaurant in West Vancouver!! The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing the spicy fried chicken 1/2 portion was massive . Highly recommend!
I dont understand why this restaurant is rated very high. I was excited to go to a new highly rated Korean restaurant in West Vancouver but very disappointed after visiting. I liked the clam noodle soup (kalguksu) but everything else was not good at all. 1. Doenjang Jjigae was not authentic. They mixed Japanese miso and Korean doenjang to make the soup. It was neither Korean nor Japanese. 2. The rice was very dry. It was obviously not fresh cooked rice. 3. The spicy pork bulgogi was really bad. They seemed to warm up pre-cooked dish before they serve. The pork was very dry and some parts of the pork and beansprouts were cold. If they cook raw pork right before they serve, it shouldnt be cold and dry. The beansprouts in the dish were not fresh as well. As they are located in a wealthy area and the first Korean restaurant in West Vancouver area, I hope they serve quality foods.
Best Korean fried chicken
It got one of the best Korean fried chicken and the absolute best seafood soup I have ever had at this price.
Korean & Japanese restaurant
This place is so amazing. Chef is so passionate in is art. I came there for lunch, they offered me a special house in extra and a 30% discount on my Nigiri Lunch set. I give a wow tip because they worthwhile.
Nice fried chicken here, prob the best one you could find in North shore. Staffs are really nice and service is great!
chicken chicken!!
Friendly staff & great foods. A bit overpriced, but I would come back for sure. Among Webern sushi restaurants, there are few places better than this one. Friendly and clean interior.
Love the vibe, simple and cheerful!! Menu including Japanese and Korean choices. This first visit my hubby and I have tried the lunch set as usual, the portion is good and the taste as well. Manager Sarah and server Erica are pleasant and friendly which is important to me beside good food. Table and floor are well cleaned, yap no greasy table. Hopefully more people can support this small business and enjoy a happy meal here!!
Great fried chicken
It must be that the chef has been changed, the k-chicken is completely different from the previous recipe... I like the previous recipe.
Very good experience! Food was tasty and portions were big. Staff was super helpful and nice. The place itself is clean and with good ambiance music. I Recommend.
Really good.
All around excellent, you wont be disappointed
Happy with everything I had here so far. Sushi was very fresh, the Korean fried chicken was delicious with very good portion. There are many options on the menu. I would love to come back to try more dishes. Service here is friendly and waiting time is reasonable.
I really wanted to love this place but I ended up being disappointed twice. Ordered beef bulgogi and it was pretty much a veggie stir fry of cabbage and bell peppers and barely any flavor. What business do bell peppers have being in a bulgogi? Also the tofu seafood soup was filled with cabbage too, it tasted more like a borscht than a Korean stew. I think if they kept authentic Korean recipes it would be beneficial to the restaurant.
Best sushi in west vancouver. You really need to give it a try if around this area. I was surprized how big their lunch menu portions were, and also the quality. Kudos to the workers here!
Great dinner! Excellent taste, good portions, nicely presented. The kitchen is spotless! Will certainly be back.
Went with friends on first night in Vancouver. Amazing value and fantastic quality sushi!
I ordered something with bones, but it came boneless;;
Such a lovely dining experience! Erika made us feel so welcomed and took great care of us. The food was INCREDIBLE. The bulgogi is a must try! Unfortunately I forgot to take photos, but I ll definitely be back. Delicious!
Best sushi place in west van! The caterpillar roll is so good
Reasonable prices, generous portions, great service and ambiance.
This is probably the only Korean restaurant in the neighborhood, however their menu has more Japanese than Korean food. Tried their fried Chicken when it first opened, they were really good! I love beef rice in stone pot. Ordered several times, but never liked it there. Their Tofu Soup (Seafood) was delicious! Service has always been good.
Great dinner food are delicious and the amount of food is good for the price.
Recent change of ownership at this korean run Japanese restaurant. Their lunch is amazing value for what you get. Range from $14 to $18 but as you can see their portions are big! Havent tried dinner yet but ordered their fried chicken for take out. Not the same level as Longsdale Quay fried chicken but for this area its not bad. Would definitely recommend the lunch! The tempura is one of the best in this area without a doubt. Lightly battered and not oily at all.
Love this place. So happy w e stumbled on it. Its a go to place when in west Van for lunch. Great food and awesome, friendly staff.
Their bulgogi and Japchae are simply the best! Big portions and well packed (we ordered takeout). Food was made with love ;) highly recommended!
Korean style fried Chicken is one of the best~
Simply healthy Korean food. Nice atmosphere good service as well
Best Korean food in Northshore. newly opened
Finally the first ever Korean restaurant in West Vancouver! So happy about it We ordered half and half fried chicken with sweet and spicy, soy garlic flavor for takeout and those were both equally tasted good! Little bit pricey but very worth it! Staffs were friendly and interior atmosphere was so nice! Hope this covid situation gets better soon and we can dine in next time.
We were going to go to another restaurant until we realized that restaurant had closed for a mid day break so we needed a quick backup plan and ended up at this Korean restaurant. SO happy we stumbled across this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! We found out they had just opened two weeks ago! We love Korean food and haven t found a go-to Korean place yet so I think we re going to make this the one! I m always a fan of Korean soups so I decided to get the Soybean Soup with Beef. My husband got the Spicy Chicken Bibimbap. Overall he enjoyed his dish though I think a part of him missed the hot sizzling bowl Bibimbap tends to come in because the rice at the bottom gets very crispy). But! I will say the presentation was very nice! I loved my soup, it was so full of flavour and delicious ingredients (onion, zucchini, cabbage, carrots, soybeans, tofu and the beef). It came with a bowl of rice and two mini side dishes (kimchi and sweet potato). (the Kimchi was one of the best I ve had) the waitress gave me a second round and we quickly devoured it. (Recommend getting their Kimchi!) . I am eager to go back and try the Spicy Tofu Soup! Perfect for a cold winter day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! (They are very Covid cautious as well. They had sanitizer at the front, customers were spaced out accordingly and the place itself was very clean). Service was great! The two girls that helped us were very friendly. Definitely coming back for another meal! :)
What a pleasant surprise is to find yet another small great restaurant in west Vancouver! Due to COVID we ordered on the phone using their website menu as a guide (they are not ready to do web ordering).. but the menu is easy to read and well explained. The ordering was fast and easy. We went to pickup and the food was ready and as fresh as it can be. We ordered the fried chicken (there is nothing like Korean fried chicken!) and the food was delicious...super tasty, juicy in the inside and crunchy in the outside. Perfect temperature. It was just amazing. We also ordered the bulgogi..and it was just perfect. Sliced pork with a semi sweet marinade and perfectly mix with its veggies. That s all we ordered...plenty for two...for two days!. They added pickle radishes, kimchi, rice for two , napkins and the whole works. We definitely will order back again...soon! It was such a fantastic new discovery in our neighbourhood.
Ordered fried chicken and wings to go. Spicy sauce on the side. It was great! Fresh, flakey crispy. Hot sauce was just right balance of spicy and sweet. Looking forward to trying rest of menu!
Delicious and authentic Korean food and great service
Their crispy bulgogi platter and spicy fried chicken taste amazing! The menu is reasonably priced, the platter itself could feed 3-4 people even though it says its for two. Overall, Im very pleased with our experience. Im so happy West Van finally has a Korean restaurant and well definitely come back to this place :)
Very good quality and yummy foods, seems quite healthy too. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in west Vancouver.
Great food, portions are very good enough for hungry customers. Flavours, temperatures, textures are perfectly done!
