Cactus Club Cafe in West Vancouver

This Western-style casual restaurant is a master of fusion. You can eat the Sichuan spicy chicken version of cabbage buns, and their curry is also good The steak is also okay. Basically no surprises

Service was super good. We were served by Neda who was really pleasant and provided great service.

We came in recently for my mums Birthday lunch and I just wanted to big give a shout out here to Carlene (I hope I remembered that right), she was an excellent server, she was so kind and helpful, and made us feel very welcome! Thank you!

We choose Cactus Club because we always get great food and exceptional service. Our lunch at Park Royal was no exception. The food was delicious and well presented and our server was excellent, friendly, attentive but not overbearing.

We had a party of 6 for dinner at cactus club at park Royal which we frequent regularly and love. The food and drinks were great as usual but we had an unfortunate experience with the server. After ordering our meals and receiving the food our server told us her shift was ending and was passing us over to her colleague. This is not unusual so it was no problem...until she came over with the card machine for us to pay the minute she dropped our food. This was completely bizarre to us as the server was leaning over us while we were trying to eat and enjoy our dinner passing the card machine to each of us to pay. Her attitude towards us the entire time was borderline aggressive. She put a negative spin on our experience as we had never experienced this before and now we are apprehensive to return. Also 45 minutes later she was still there clearing other tables....

I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and it was really good

Our Waitress Taylor F was an excellent waitress and representative for this restaurant. I know customer service is what I do at work, and she was the best waitress Ive ever come across. My man Viktors diner was delayed due to the Dijon sauce ran out and Taylor apologized for the delayed dinner. She explained that it would be a bit and Viktors was completely, and we had the raspberry cheese cake which Taylor looked after it.

We have been coming to cactus club Café in West Vancouver for years. Our experience yesterday was absolutely horrible. The food was terrible. The service was terrible. There were so much staff, and all of them were incompetent. Every single one of them was incompetent. Very sad. Until they fix that location s issues , we are never coming back

I recently visited the Park Royal branch and had a mixed experience. On one hand, the food was absolutely fantastic as always. However, my experience was unfortunately marred by the customer service at the front desk. I have been a loyal customer for many years, but the attitude of the staff member I encountered was incredibly disappointing. She was not only disrespectful but also downright rude throwing menus at us and stating, I don t know anything. This behavior was shocking and made my friends and me feel unwelcome. Its disheartening to see such a great restaurant suffer from poor customer service. I genuinely hope the management addresses this issue, as the food truly deserves a better atmosphere. Until then, I m not sure I ll be returning, given how uncomfortable the experience was.

Cactus Club is hands down my favorite restaurant! They offer a fantastic variety of food, so there s always something for everyone, no matter your mood or craving. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. Every dish I ve tried has been incredibly tasty and well-prepared. Plus, the service is always on point friendly, attentive, and efficient. I highly recommend Cactus Club for a great dining experience!

I want to thank the entire team at this location because I went to celebrate my birthday once again at Cactus! The service was perfect, from the hostess to my dessert, which was kindly presented by my waitress. I really want to thank you for your service because no matter the location, the standard and quality always make me very happy to return! I recently thanked the team at the Langley location, and now I want to thank the team in North Vancouver! Thank you very much for the great service!

Love this location, the patio is beautiful and the staff are lovely. Great spot to grab a drink and hangout during the day.

Would give 0 stars if possible. Chose this location for our party of 7 instead of our usual Abbotsford location (which is fantastic). What a mistake! As we were being seated, the hostess told us we had 2 hours max before we need the table back. Server was awful. We werent checked on even once, she couldnt work the tablet properly so it took forever to get drinks and appys in. There was a piece of wet brown paper towel in one of our ceviches. There was tin foil in the bottom of my margarita glass. A different person brought out drinks, another for the meals. The music was ridiculously loud and included profanity which wouldnt have bothered us but we had children with us. The cutlery on our table was dirty, and there was sauce on the booth seat. We spent over 300 and it was just awful. Will stick to Abbotsford from now on.

Took over an hour to order an Aburi roll and ceviché, ordered a drink and it took over 15 mins. Restaurant was dead, never had this experience from a Cactus Club. Our server Alex or Alix (pronounced A-leaks ) was so rude offered no apologies or even attempted to make conversation even though she could tell we were clearly dissatisfied with her service. A happy hour snack and a couple drinks should not take an hour and 15 mins.

We were a party of 20 celebrating 80th.birthday. Mikka, our wonderful server provided incredible service.I ordered the Med. Bowl with sharwama chicken,a generous helping and delicious. Others ordered salmon and steak dishes,all good. Mikka thanks,hope to see you in management position.

Had a great experience here today. Venus was our hostess and she was fantastic. Made us feel at home. Brittany Spears was our server and she was much better than the real thing. At the end I left my key on the table and Venus came running out to get to me. Her name truly matches her !!!

Our server was very good and exceptionally knowledgeable. She even knew where to buy the delicious coffee we were served. Parking: This Cactus Club is at Park Royal so there is lots of parking (although there are also lots of cars).

Probably the worst tasting steak frites Ive ever eaten, despite the high price. Steak was tough, cold, no browning on the outside, and had no seasoning at all. The horseradish cream tasted of nothing, like plain yogurt. I got the truffle fries but was disappointed to find that they tasted nothing like truffle. Kale salad was pretty good though. Location, location, location. Kinda hard to miss sitting on the edge of Ambleside Park but... Theres really only one thing that brings me into Google reviews tonight. Ive been going to Earls Restaurants for decades. Ive alway found the food good, value good, service good...but... It would seem, since COVID, every service, retail and food supplier has fallen into what feels, to a layman, like there has been a , Lets see what we can get away with... culture. Now Earls, as I say, is not alone but I really seemed to feel it tonight. My goto Chicken Fettucini Alfredo is slowly moving into a stratospheric cost range. For a few noodles and maybe half a a chicken breast, the value has simply been lost. My tipping point (what brought me in to reviews), was my $2 piece of garlic bread. An add on that use to come with most pastas dishes. It just sunk me. As for the pasta itself, it still remains a favourite but this shrinkflation thing is definitely pulling me back.

Though we favour the original Pemberton St location as we ve become well acquainted with the senior server Joe there ( senior as to his time there not his age) we decided to try this location for our anniversary last month. Though very busy they seated us with no delay and with abundance of smiles. The experience was tops as we expected with regards to food quality and service and friendliness however what made this experience extra special was the manager Mika. Upon our inquiry as to the coffee as it was delicious Mika came to us and not only told us what they use but also offered us some to take home to enjoy in the morning. We took up her offer and were pleased at how sweet and friendly she and our server were all through our visit when we told them it was our anniversary and even comped our dessert. Another fabulous experience and it s why CC remains our favourite restaurant for special occasions- pity that cevice was no longer on the menu. Well done CC and Mika. You are tops in our books

The servers were exceptionally kind and professional, making for a pleasant dining experience. Our food was prepared swiftly and tasted delicious. We especially enjoyed the cozy and inviting atmosphere of the outdoor terrace.

Polly was our server and in full honestly, this gal needs a raise! She is so personable and sweet, it made our experience here incredible. She touched our table often and made sure we were well taken care of. The service here is super fast and the food at cactus is great as always (the fries are so good!). I give nothing but 10/10 reviews and will be coming back here for the food and will definitely be requesting Polly if she is working!

Lexie was our server and she was not present at all. She took our first order of drinks and did not come back. 30 mins later we had to ask someone else to get our server so we can put in our food order. We can see her go around every table but ours. A different server had dropped off our food.

Nice place to go if you don t want fast food. Here visiting from the UK, food was delicious! And happy hour included food! Cocktail was strange to have an iced mimosa and I wasn t a fan. Service was very attentive, probably a little too much for British people. Atmosphere was very loud, it was lunch time and they were playing very loud club music I could hear and had to shout. That along with cutlery noises was a sensory nightmare (we sat outside thinking the noise would be less but it wasn t). Would go back if I m in the area

Always good experience at this branch

A place which is always a solid return for my family. The service, atmosphere and food are all quite good. The very wide ranging menu and expanding zero-proof cocktail menu mean that almost anyone can be brought here and leave happy. I adore the Baja fish tacos.

Great experience at the bar for solo dinner. I really appreciate the staff giving me space while still being attentively. My steak ordered rare was perfectly delivered. Only reason I couldn t give it a 5/5 was because the washrooms were very dirty. Please keep up with the hygiene.

The worst chicken tenders , no seasoning just chicken rolled in breas crum, all children working and it shows

I loved Saminy service. She was friendly, professional and she suggested a very nice drink that I had it for the first time. Beer and Bellini shots, I loved it. The girl she was training was also so nice and friendly I can tell she was so ready to start her job, she didnt seem new. . They were checking on us every 15 minutes or so and we really enjoyed dinning there for the first time after a being your customer for a long long time. Thank you Saminy. Good server always make a huge difference on the experience for the gusts even if you have been visiting the same restaurant for years. We had our most favorite dish lettuce wrap and truffle fries, their new summer dish chicken tacos. I think it tasted really good and better than before all because of a good service we received. I didnt take photos as having fun was more important ;) Kid-friendliness: Its dinning section has is good for family to din in. We have been here many times with our child and he also loves it very much.

The service is very bad we waited for 15 minutes and no one came to take our order we even said excuse me to the waiter but no one heard us or bother to take our order they took order from next table who came after us and our server never showed up I was so excited to try their food but it was not worth it

I booked 2 days in advance. When we arrived I was told rudely our table was not ready. When we came back we were shown to the table next to the washroom and kitchen. We asked for an alternative but were told there wasn t one. We asked a more senior person and were then told we would have to wait. We left.

Steak was ok quality, and food was overly salty, but otherwise very good

We were seated at a table I was totally happy with, we told them we didn t mind where we sat. But all of a sudden I had chocolate all over my phone and realized chocolate was all over and under the table and along the sides. We had already ordered at this point. This is nobody s fault, but I was especially disappointed when I realized it got on my jeans. We were moved to a new table where the new waitress asked where we moved from and how we got there. We explained we ordered and what happened. She literally came back and said looks like we didn t order so do you want to do that? .. like we just told you that we did order. No communication whatsoever between the servers. Nobody even said sorry for the table and my pants. We left after we were questioned for the second time. I have never had so much anxiety dealing with restaurant staff. Such an uncomfortable and disappointing experience :( I will never come here again.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. The hostess are awful with their service must be their cheap shien outfits. Also the servers are clueless at their jobs very unprofessional. I m surprised this cactus is still in business. Compared to the rest of the province this has been my worst experience at a cactus club. I had better service at the fast food restaurant down the road from them. It s sad to see such a highly reputable restaurant be tarnished by these guys and furthermore it s located at one of the nicest neighbourhoods in town. I can see why most people travel to down town Vancouver instead of staying to eat here. Would NEVER return here again. Please beware of the awful service given at this establishment.

I often go to Cactus Club. I usually go to places in English Bay, but this was my first time visiting this place. The portions are quite small compared to other branches, and the cooking method doesnt seem to be my preference. To be honest, I expected the same taste and amount of food, but it was a bit disappointing. Next time I will visit another branch.

Our first couple experiences were great, we would go almost weekly if not more often. Over the last couple of months the service has started to slide, we will be waiting quite a long time to have drink orders to be taken and even longer for the cheque. We completely understand it being busy, but generally there is a cluster of servers either by the front or the kitchen area. The food also became quite meh. We would always have the chicken lettuce cups, and they are now way more toppings than chicken. Sadly we have found a new regular spot and havent been in a while. Wish I had better things to say as initially it was great

1st timer. Tourist. Large group celebrating a birthday. Be ready to spend 3+ hours enjoying the amazing song playlist with attentive, kind, quick service from the wait staff. They answered all our questions and made us feel like we were the only ones in a very packed restaurant. They take reservations. Make sure to give compliments to chef Shane who did an outstanding job on the chicken and crab cakes. The drinks were delicious - try the penicillin or the sangria or a chilled glass of a shot of tequila. Hands down, would go back.

Was excited to order the lemongrass noodle salad as I have never had the dish before. After reading the description, I ordered it specifically do to my extreme allergy to stone fruits (mango, plum, etc). When the dish came, it had a vibrant orange puree that decorated the inside of the bowl. Alarmed, I asked the server what this was, she said mango puree...although the description said citrus vinaigrette, and literally nothing about mangoes. A bite of this dish could have stopped me from breathing. Although the manager said she was going to touch base with their menu designer to inform them, it doesnt change the fact that you couldve killed myself, or anyone else with a severe allergy to stone fruits (which is a very common allergy) do to irresponsible wording. Pretty unbelievable. They paid for our bill which wouldve been maybe $65, but the chance of myself and bf ever going back to a cactus? Not a chance. Cant trust eating out anymore it seems, and Im sorry, but paying for the bill fixes nothing, considering this overlook couldve costed my life.

Food is decent, however, service is non existent at this branch. Server does not check in with you at all. Had to get up and get jug of water from one of their server stands after asking 2 different staff for water fill up, both of which whom never came back.

Great service and a perfect MR 8 ounce sirloin with sautéed prawns. Mashed potatoes and asparagus executed perfectly. Beef carpaccio was also excellent as a starter.

Love this place for its convenient location, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, and great food. The garden burger is one of my favourites; the crispy tofu bowl is not bad if you have a taste for sweet food and the avocado dip is definitely delicious.

Sat at the bar with 3 friends. Food and service was perfect. Refilled my coke without asking. I had the fish tacos and fries on the side. I enjoyed the atmosphere and music.

A typical Cactus Club Experience, sat down at the bar to watch the Texans vs. Colts game, took about 15 minutes to get a menu and longer for a drink (canned beer). Zero personality, robotic akin to a pet cockroach. A soul sucking feeling of emptiness on departure.

The food is somewhat delicious but they significantly reduced the portions recently. But the most annoying thing about the restaurant is that they start preparing your food AFTER the dasher reaches the restaurant. So they waste an hour doing nothing. If you order food from here it takes at least 90 minutes for them to prepare your order. That is extremely slow by any standards.

OMG Cactus why????? Why would you remove a perfectly amazing dish and replace with a deep fried one with pickles! We have been ordering the spicy chicken appetizer for years. Last week we found out that you no longer made it and replaced it with a breaded chicken with pickles. We decided to try it and honestly it was horrible. First of all overly breaded - deep fried and then pickles:(. We love coming to Cactus because it has consistently good food. The menu is excellent and we have favorites. Sadly that this favorite of ours was replaced with a poor choice. Hope you bring the spicy chicken back.

Just Excellent!

Been going to this location regularly for over ten years now. The foods quality has gradually gone downhill. One time I ordered the Fennie burger, the bun was not toasted and the burger meat temperature is low. I dont know how it was done but definitely was not the standard they carried from earlier years . They removed my favorite item Calamari. The new item they added, fried chicken with pickle is disgustingly oily and over breaded. The chicken tenders used to be great, but now they dont even salt and pepper them. However, the honey mustard sauce is great. When they used to sell promotional gift card, I normally stock up a few hundred dollars but wont anymore cause of the food quality.

Using a gift card, I was first asked to tip on the full price of my meal & then found that there was also a tip added on the remainder - which I did not put there! Unfortunately I didnt see this until I studied the receipts later. It makes me very reluctant to purchase gift cards in the future. Parking: Park Royal Village

Great place with fast service and good food.

We love cactus but unfortunately this time wasn t our best. I had informed the host when we arrived that we were celebrating a 13th bday and to inform our server so they could put a candle in her dessert and we didn t receive anything special. We had the carpaccio and the beef tasted gamey which has never happened before and had to send back. No manager came by to accommodate us or ask about our night. Like I said usually we have a great time at cactus club but not this time.

Ambience is very nice at this location, the same with their food & service. I had a great experience with one of their managers, Justine, who went beyond her way to help me & my friend find my lost phone. It was a Saturday night, and the restaurant was very busy. However, she stayed calm, spent the time & kept searching with us and finally helped us locate the phone. I appreciate her caring and attentive treatment and wish to see her gain in my future visits.

We used to love coming here but service has been non-existent the last few times we visited this location. The only service we receive is our order being taken (which happened very late during this particular visit about 20 minutes after we were seated). Our water is never refilled and the waitress is nowhere to be found.

Very disappointed with our visit. I specifically requested a table for a party that had elderly people and 1 person with a walker and they sat us in a booth. I complained and the manager was able to provide us with another table after waiting almost 1/2 hr, however she made me feel like it was my fault by saying I need to specify that my elderly party has a wheelchair? My aunt has a walker with a seat what is the difference. Anyways, will not be coming back to this location ever. Service was terrible, food was terrible as everyone that ordered steaks said they were tough and overdone. My uncle sent his steak back as he couldnt cut through it and it took over 1/2 hr for it to come back and was marginally better. My Dad ordered a dessert for his birthday and considering how lousy the service/meal was they could have at least given the dessert on the house as well as take the steak off my uncles dinner. Dont waste your time coming here choose Milestones its much better atmosphere and service.

Tannaz Javid & Neveh Hearn greeted me with the most welcoming smile as I walked in to the restaurant this evening. I value quality customer service those beautiful two ladies truly made me feel like I was at home at the restaurant even though I just ordered a takeout key lime pie for my husband. I was served with style. And for me dining out on regular basis this is perhaps the most important thing for me. They both were very friendly, kind eagerly, to serve. Thank you so much for making my experience at cactus club a five-star experience.

Horrible experience I ordered my lunch through google. Despite the long wait time (45minutes for a salad), the portion they gave me was small!!!! The size of grilled chicken in their website was bigger and they gave me half size of the portion. I didn t touch the food and went back to return and my refund. For refund, they had to call DoorDash ( I never ordered from DoorDash) to refund me. Another ten minutes wait for they call DoorDash to they refund me I am regular customer for Cactus Club, but Earls serviced me way better

I took my parents here for a fancy dinner and I was shocked on how poorly our server McKenna treated us. She had this I dont want to be here attitude like we were a burden on her and she is tired of us and she kept forgetting to take our orders for appetizers and dessert. We didnt enjoy our meal and we decided to just head somewhere else for dessert. Im surprised how miserable our experience was that night. I dont recommend this branch of Cactus at all.

There seemed to be very few staff serving the whole restaurant and so the service suffered. For example, I asked for peper for my potato, the waitress just put the pepper mill on the table and left. In the past, they would grind the peper onto the meal etc.

I love this place. Nice and cozy, a little bit noisy, food was delicious.

The All star bartender was absolutely amazing especially when the kitchen forgot to make are food n we waited 30 mins to get food n she went in to make sure it was rushed and reordered it... I give here a solid 9.5 for over all tonight... plus shes easy on the eyes .. Oct 18 8pm

Our family ate here for my birthday dinner. Some meals good, although my husbands rigatoni bolonaise was so salty it had to be sent back. Yam fries yummy. I ordered the appetizer ravioli and prawns. Literally 3 pieces of ravioli and the smallest scraps of prawns Ive ever seen and also covered in sea salt. And $18! Probably the biggest rip off in my life. I ate it because my husband already sent his back and at this point I just gave up. My in-laws had a bottle of wine and entrees each. My belinni was good. But so expensive overall. Three entrees, one appie, yam fries, diet coke, two belinis and a Bottle of wine ..over $250! Unbelievable but I guess thats just eating out these days. Wouldnt go back.

Food was average but not bad. Service was nice but music was too loud and a little toooo dark. Nice for a quick non-planned night out.

The best Cactus Cub in Vancouver. Very nice staff and amazing food. The lettuce wraps are amazing. Good poke bowl 100% would recommend. Vegetarian options: Tons of veg options sometimes better than normal sometimes. Dietary restrictions: Supports any dietary restirctions Parking: Tons of parking (free) Kid-friendliness: Nice to kids.

Ordered 1 steak, came unedible, layered in unchewable fat, and tasted bland. Received a second order, this one came exactly the same as the first one if not worse.

One of our favourite places to go for Great food and Great service as always. Justine, our server was great.

We as group went there on happy hour time, ordered steak frietis. Steak came on burnt outside and totally cold. Instead of fries, I requested mashed potato which they didn t consider at first. Afterwards after reminding the order they changed it to mashed one. Over priced for happy hour and quality of the food was not the expected one from cactus club Never try the West Van anymore

As Always, the food is consistently amazing! Service is continuously great from check in to check out! (would be nice to have waters offered to be refilled, without asking each time) but minor detail! We had quiet the spread....as you will see in my photos... Beef carpaccio always amazing! Lettuce wrap has kick (my fav), and the perfect seasoning and sauces on everything! Burgers were all good, yam fries, truffle fries, Avocado kale salad.... All great!

I enjoyed a solitary, quiet,delicious meal in the solarium.

Had a Bellini and the Blackened Creole Chicken, and a lava cake for dessert. Everything was delicious and service was great for a large group (12). Pricey at $160 for two people, so not exactly student-budget-friendly, but great for the occasional night out.

The food was exceptionally tasty, and I highly recommend it

Last night me and by hasband with my small babies went there , the server he didn t come to our table for first 20 min we ask someone else we wanna order food fast so we can go because we have small babies and after he came he got our order he bibg us water with no ice and we asked for ginger ale he didn t bring us and we wait almost 40min food was not there he never come back to say we need something or food takes longer .our babies was being that s why my hasband he said we have to leave without having food was so disappointed Always this location take so long to get your food
