I got a VIP ticket expecting VIP service, but nobody came to take our order. I had to go twice to place the order myself. Even after 2 hours, when the movie was over, we still hadn't received our order. For the refund, the manager didn't even apologize.
Be cautious when booking at Cinplex Parkroyal. We recently paid $22 for “Inside Out 2” assuming it was a VIP screening, only to find out it was a 3D-DBOX in their regular salon labeled as full recliner. "Make sure to double-check these details beforehand to avoid confusion." The cleanliness of the theaters is acceptable, but the condition of the chairs, particularly in their non-VIP salons, leaves much to be desired as the leather is worn out. Comparatively, Brentwood Cinplex scores a 7/10 from me, while Parkroyal only manages a 4/10. Both locations serve low-quality food even in their VIP sections, and I’ve yet to have a standout dining experience at either since 2019.
I'm told that I might be able to store my e-scooter inside so I purchased a ticket and than I'm told that I cannot bring it in. So I get a refund and leave
This is the second of now two disappointing visits. As a theater, this is a great place to watch a movie. That's it. Get in, watch your movie, and get out. The restaurant is just bad. On our first visit, they got our order wrong and then argued it when I brought it up. On the second visit, we arrived a half hour early for drinks, we sat at the bar and were ignored for 10 min while the bartender worked in front of us. No hello, no menus, nothing. On top of it, we never got our drinks. We just had to leave to catch our movie. And no, it was not slamming busy. At the concession stand we ordered popcorn and a fountain drink, but they failed to inform us of a Coke strike and that there was no soda available (other than 2 flavours), but sold it to us anyway. It's just not good customer service. The food is also really poor quality. They would benefit from a rebrand and a retraining of staff. As is stands, this is a 'movie only' theater.
Starting with the positives, the atmosphere is really cool and decor feels fancy for a movie theatre restaurant! Food was really underwhelming though. Avocado in quinoa bowl was somehow oxidized and unripe, literally inedible. Chicken sandwich might as well have been from Dairy Queen, fries were probably cooked yesterday. Yolanda the server was nice
Nice screen and sound. Comfortable recliner seats. Easy parking. Some seats are worn out any they need to be replaced.
Ordered a quinoa ‘bowl’ - previously good. Waiter didn’t mention that 2 of the main ingredients were out of stock, so it was just quinoa, salsa, and cucumbers. Offered free popcorn, but shocking they would offer it and not tell you before ordering, and still charge full. Terrible.
I ordered the spicy chicken wrap, fries and a drink...it was really good! Good amount of spice and fresh food. Fries were really good and the drink was ice cold. Oh, and it was brought right to my seat in the theatre! Great food and great service. Would highly recommend!
I love the recliner seats!
