Overlooking the waters of Horseshoe Bay, Olive & Anchor offers casual, great value in-dining and takeout for lunch and dinner served in a relaxed atmosphere by friendly and professional staff. Our menu is all about simple, home-made, un-fussy and delicious food using fresh produce.
Nice comfy place. I liked the menu: different and delicious. We arrived early before 6pm on a Saturday. A nice walk at the Pier is a must!
High quality foods and professional customer service. Also I tried beets soup for first time. It was delicious🤩👍🏽💯
Great service. The chowder was wonderful, nice and hot. Tge fish and chips were a good size for an average person. The wife liked the service button on the table. It was great for re ordering a round if drinks.
I like this place it’s cozy and nice… foods are always fresh and tasty and waitress is very cool … only they r bringing bills very fast 🤣🤣🤣 always feel that needs to leave fast 🫣🫣🫣
Quaint little place that was full and had great atmosphere. Excellent menu with mix of Korean and Ocean/BC Coast favorites. We had the New England seafood chowder and Cod fish and chips, it was Friday after all! Both very tasty and Cod was excellent with light batter and not oily. Recommend a stop if visiting or waiting for a ferry. Best of all, they are dog friendly on back patio!
Good food! Calamari is awesome and highly recommended. The oyster burger is okay. Oyster is very tasty but small. New England Seafood Chowder is very delicious. Price wise is a bit over price for the amount of food. service bit slow. The atmosphere is a bit dark. I was seated on the back close to the garden/parking.
This place surprised us because it had a mixture of seafood entrees and Indian cuisine. We saw the menu and wanted to see how the Indian cuisine fair with other more dedicated restaurants. We were not disappointed. We had the chowder, kids pasta, Tikka Masala, Pork & Shrimp Gyoza, and the Calamari. The kids devoured the pasta and the Indian cuisine lived up to my standard so 5 stars. Keep up the deliciousness.
Their dishes are amazing! Australian Lamb Shank, Ebi mayo, Oyster Tempura Burger & Fries, and Brandy-raisin Bread Pudding are highly recommended! The servers were very attentive and took great care of the table. I also enjoyed the beautiful interior of the place. Before hopping on the ferry, it's definitely worth checking out this lovely restaurant.
Great food, and it comes out really fast which is great if you re in the ferry lineup :)
Turned up with my family before closing and was turned away
A higher end establishment , good food and friendly attentive staff with a warm fire burning in the background and glimpses of the ocean and bluffs nearby.
We have been going to Olive and Anchor for many years. We thank them for all the great meals we have had there. It is truly and amazing place and we always have a great experience. Love it and all the people that work there. Rick and Lisa own it and are such beautiful people. Rick run the front room and Lisa runs the kitchen and they are both so talented. Lisa was was one of the top chefs at Lacroadile and Rick is the nicest guy you could ever meet. Bravo! You will not be disappointed.
Wow.. top notch restaurant delicious food and great service! The cioppino was a huge stew of tasty and zesty seafood!
Food was awful and wildly overpriced. Mushroom soup was pureed and oily. The oyster burger was bitter and left us with stomach ache and nausea. Dont go.
Olive and Anchor is a delightful spot combining the charm of a seaside restaurant with a menu that blends local ingredients and international flavors. The seafood dishes are fresh and well-prepared, and the diverse menu has something for everyone. The cozy atmosphere, paired with friendly and attentive service, makes it a great choice for a relaxed meal in Horseshoe Bay. Perfect for a casual lunch or a dinner with scenic views.
Visiting from Toronto with family. We had a great experience all around! The food was so amazing, everyone cleaned their plate. Portion size, not too much and definitely not too little. They were extremely cautious of our peanut allergy!!! If you are visiting the area, make the trip!
We were there to have dinner last Wednesday, October 9th. The restaurant is really nice, our server friendly and overall the food was good. The thing that really destroyed the whole experience and left us really shooked was that we started overhearing the chef complaining about a family and a baby sitting down. Keep in mind the baby was not angry or crying, just making regular noises and the lady was talking terribly about how mad she was at the family, and how she wanted them to leave because of the baby making noises, then proceeded to make comments about the nationality of the people as well. As far as we understood this is a family restaurant, so we do not understand why was it such a big deal to have a baby there. Needless to say, we wouldn t like to come back and eat a place were employees talk that way about the customers and have food cooked by a person who clearly does not know about etiquette. Maybe the owners or management should take care about what is being spoken in front of guests.
Superb staff, friendly, attentive and great family atmosphere, with good food.
I was so excited by the food that I forgot to take photos. We had the gyozas and the calamari to start. Both were excellent. Followed by the haddock fish and chips with yam fries. Simply delicious. Fish was light and flaky (not too much breading) and the yam fries were the best I have ever had. Marcus was an amazing server. We had to get in and out quickly to make the ferry, and he was so attentive. The ambience is quaint and warm. We will be back for sure!!
We really liked this place! Delicious Korean wings and Tika Masala chicken. Some servers were being trained and a bit green still so pleasant and lovely. We would come back for sure!
Food is great but don t try to tell the owner something is wrong with your food. She ll yell at you and claim you re wrong.
Good food, a bit of a view if you are by the window. Parking: Very little parking. Car pool if possible. NOTE: if you are waiting at the Horseshoe Bay ferry, you can walk around the village if you take proof of ticket with you.
You know those restaurants where its obvious that the owner works diligently to make sure that your time there is a true dining experience? Thats Olive & Anchor. Located in a touristy area, this is a restaurant for the epicurious.
Awesome food, very fresh and tasty and hot! Friendly takeout window order. Fast and very convenient for a nice picnic by horseshoe bay!
Lovely family run spot in horseshoe bay if you re looking for something beyond fish &chips. Freshly prepared food with lots of variety on the menu. Kitchen was a little overwhelmed and our meals were delayed - but the team brought over some free fries and kept us informed - which was appreciated. Mussels daily special was and my husband raved about the bibimbap. And the views are lovely on a summer evening. We ll be back for dessert next time!
A must if you are in Horseshoe Bay. Food was delicious, hot and derive was great. Chicken wings were amazing!
Very delicious 10 starts Food
We just ate here for lunch and the food tasted great, however, we found the portions very small for the prices you pay. My husband had a two piece cod and there were barely any French fries(fries are relatively inexpensive) and the cod pieces were small. Tasted great, but my husband isnt a big eater at all but wasnt full. Just to put it in perspective, hes 6 foot 1 and 183 pounds. We arent big people! My fish tacos were good, Caesar salad that I substituted for fries had barely any dressing on it, so I had to wait quite some time for the server to bring more dressing. Now the good part...my 9 ounce Chardonnay wine was $23.00. Really? I have never paid this much for a basic USA chardonnay ever. Lunch was $110.00 with the tip. Too pricey in my opinion. Wont go back.
My husband and I were in Vancouver for a few days before and after an Alaska cruise, and we stumbled upon Olive and Anchor. We loved it so much we stopped twice! Food was exceptional, servers were friendly and gave us great tips on things not to miss in the area. We counted ourselves blessed. If we are ever in the vicinity again it will definitely be on our must visit list. Dont hesitate...just go...and tell them the couple from Iowa sent you. You wont be disappointed.
We had a great seat on the patio with a beautiful view of the Harbour. It was awesome. The food was fantastic. Had the tuna salad and it was very delicious.
Been loyal customers since the opening, this place has always had phenomenal food and service. They ve added more Korean oriented cuisine to their menu which is so delicious. The brand new dog-friendly backdoor patio looks fantastic too!
Excellent take-away tuna salad, very fresh.
Got the runs on the ferry after eating the oyster burger here Gravy on the poutine was also low quality Service was nice Food : 1/5
Fantastic fish and chips but much smaller portions than in the past.
Very good restaurant which is a change from classic Canadian restaurants Pleasant and professional service
Best rated restaurant in the village I had to try and I wasnt into it the Caesar salad was very good and the dishes served were very good I highly recommend.
We chose this place because of the good reviews but unfortunately our meals were underwhelming and overpriced. The tempura battered cod had a decent flavour and texture but the portions were very small. The yam fries were soggy and the portion was also small. The seafood chowder should have been called salt and powdered sage chowder with croutons and microscopic fish particles. Undoubtedly the worst chowder Ive ever had. The server offered more chowder after it had been adjusted but I couldnt stomach the thought.
The calamari were soft and not chewy. The gyoza were very tasty, and juicy. The fish and chips (halibut) was perfectly cooked with flaky fish and a light non greasy batter the Korean BBQ Googie Dog had melt in the mouth rib eye and a lovely balance of flavours. The fries were hand cut and great. The molten chocolate pudding was good, very light but not as gooey as it may have been but that was probably because we got in late and the kitchen was closing. Excellent service and food but go itt closes at 7.45! Good wine too albeit not local
Really tasty dishes, especially the seafood delicacies. Fast and friendly service.
Good food & very kind service
I have recently had the displeasure of eating at Olive and Anchor while waiting for my ferry to Vancouver island. The service was initially friendly, which seemed promising, however my friends and I were just in for a flying visit. The food was okay. On paying, our server, Minji, processed my part of the payment. Several moments later, Minji tells me that I never added the standard 18 percent, as it s a party of six. Would you like to pay that now by card? . I was very confused at this point, as I m an Irish citizen who was in Canada for a short 6 day visit to celebrate my friend s wedding alongside my wife. Now, this server is taking advantage of my ignorance. At this point, I told the server that I was Irish and didn t understand. That is, Minji framed the 18 percent tip as mandatory. She was impolite, very pushy, and was not understanding whatsoever. To put it into perspective, Minji never included it on the bill. She never took the time to explain that it was not mandatory, but customary, and this sort of penny pinching is what creates a toxic culture and drags establishments with potential into the dirt This was an embarrassing experience, as we were able to see the personification of human greed. Stingy Minji doubled down and got her 18 percent for a 20 minute experience for which she was sub-par. AVOID or at the very least, know your rights.
The best fish and chips Ive eaten in Canada I arrived nearly at closing time before the long weekend. They were fast and yummy.
Excellent fish and chips, pretty good poutine. Good portion sizes and everything was crispy. Bomb tartar sauce. Can t speak to the service because I ordered it through the takeout window- but the employees were nice
We recently dined at Olive & Anchor restaurant, and it was an extraordinary experience! Overlooking the serene waters of Horseshoe Bay, this charming spot offers a perfect blend of casual, great value dining and a relaxed atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the friendly and personable staff made us feel right at home. The menu, which focuses on simple, homemade, unfussy, and delicious food using fresh produce, had us spoiled for choice. We started with the calamari, which was hands-down the best weve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it was seasoned to perfection and served with a delightful dipping sauce. For dessert, we indulged in the brandy raisin pudding, which was absolutely divine. Rich, moist, and bursting with flavor, it was the perfect ending to our meal. But the highlight was undoubtedly the burger with brioche buns. The brioche was soft and slightly sweet, providing the perfect complement to the juicy, flavorful patty and fresh toppings. Each bite was a symphony of taste and texture. Whether youre stopping by for lunch or dinner, this gem in Horseshoe Bay is a must-visit. We cant wait to return and enjoy more of their fantastic offerings!
This is just my experience & opinion, if anyone else has a more positive experience then that is great . I went to this restaurant last week (July 3rd 2024) Food wasnt bad but it wasn t good either. We ordered cod fish & chips which were tasteless. When i asked for extra tartar sauce & they charged us a dollar something for about 2 squirts. Pork gyozas that again if house made should taste really good, were lacking in any seasoning & tastelessness. It tasted like some frozen ones. We waited over 30 min to get service & then another 20 min for the bill. It wasn t busy at all in there, lots of empty tables . Not sure what was happening at this place but it wasn t the greatest experience food or service wise.
Seafood chowder is amazing!
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Horseshoe Bay!
Not attentive service, farm raised salmon, can be better although one of the better options on that strip
Food was really good compared to the competition
Very good!
Ordered the Cod Tacos and Seafood Cioppino to go. Paid $4 extra for truffle fries but received regular fries with a side of Parmesan cheese and a side of Mayo which is not worth the extra. I ignorantly assumed the Seafood Cioppino was some sort of pasta but is in fact a seafood stew/soup. The menu said it comes with a grilled focaccia then we had the option to add 1 piece of extra garlic toast (which we did). Ended up receiving two small pieces of garlic bread and no focaccia. Came to $62 for not that much food. We all know tipping culture is out of hand but didn t like how the online order defaults to a 20% tip for take out. Would only consider eating here again if I was stuck waiting for the ferry as there are not many options in Horseshoe Bay.
The waitress was very knowledgeable and pleasant....service was quick....food and wine good.... would definitely go again....
Quick service and a very convenient location. The fish and chips were really amazing and even the non-alcoholic beers were not dissimilar from regular beer.
Amazing place. Its super tasty, so nice, I want to go there again and again!
Got a cheeseburger as take out - was a bit too greasy & salty; would skip next time
Best seafood chowder Ive ever had. The grilled salmon was superb, the rissoto that came with it was irresistable. We also had the Seafood Cioppino and it was also very good. I will for sure come back when Im in the area. Good service, friendly staff.
Excellent service. Came in by myself and staff was lovely. Had the grilled salmon with prawn risotto which was incredible. Can definitely recommend and would absolutely come again.
We were served in under 30 minutes so we could make our ferry. Amazing food. We were not expecting such unique culinary touches. The chowder was SO GOOD -hearty and herby and the fish and chips were excellent. So fresh. These coleslaw was top notch. Grainy Dijon in the tartar sauce was a touch of brilliance. Honestly we left and can t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. The ambiance and service was 10/10 as well.
We were a party of 4, all new to the restaurant. Service was great 2 of us had the Mushroom soup lunch special and it was fantastic. They were extremely accommodating of a gluten allergy and a dairy allergy. The tempura fish tacos were great and everyone else was very happy with their choices as well. Service was fantastic. (Forgot name: take woman long blonde hair in ponytail / Saturday afternoon)
Great service great food would recommend
Very cozy and super tasty restaurant. We sat outside in the garden, a nice sunny and, above all, very quiet place. The food cannot be improved! So tasty and so fresh. We will definitely come back here.
Good time beautiful view
We got 3 spring salads with salmon , wow so good ! Thank you for the delicious meal
Excellent place to go! Suitable for the whole family and we sat in front of the fire which was a nice touch. The fish was spot on and I Highly recommend it.
Really impressed with the friendly service. But Im biased as I worked at this place (take out counter) 53 years ago. My first job at 13 years old.....
Nice place to stop while you wait for the ferry
Best seafood ever
This is a wonderful dessert cafe. Each dessert was delicious, the coffee was delicious, and refills were free. It was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it.
Went here on Valentines Day and was so impressed! It was one of the best restaurant meals/experiences that I have had in a long time. We had two appetizers, one off the special v day menu and one off the regular (Burrata & Calamari) and a beautiful 1/2 litre of wine. For our mains we had the salmon with risotto and the seafood pasta which was phenomenal, it all tasted so fresh and the flavours were so beautiful. Our service was really great too and so attentive. We took our dessert to go as we were full but we felt great, not over full or sickly. The desserts both tasted great at home, we wanted cream brule so they kindly also let us buy the dish to take it home. Can t wait to come back for more celebrations!
Got the lamb and the miso fish. Both were really nice plates of fusion food.
I stopped in on the way to Vancouver. I am not from the area. The fish and chips was very good. The coleslaw that came with the dish was different. It had an unusual flavor and was very good. I would like to know just what that spice was. If I am in the area again, I will stop in again.
Delicious food and healthy portions in a warm, clean atmosphere, with kind people. Service was quick and helpful, and menu is interesting and exciting. The Goggie Dog was excellent, as was my wifes Bibimbop. If I lived in West Vancouver, I would live inside of the Olive & Anchor. Vegetarian options: Vegan Dietary restrictions: Vegan
Very weird experience, server looked like they needed help and it took about 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at the dooor. Food was alright but nothing exceptional, very different blends of foods not considered fusion they seemed to have a little bit of everything from Indian to Korean to seafood which isn t always the best. The Korean wings were odd and had way too much five spice they were almost dessert like. Calamari was good nothing crazy and the raw red onion seemed a bit harsh with the delicate calamari.
Soooooo good!!! Food was amazing (calamari, bibimbap and gyozas) and the staff was lovely. This is always our first choice when we re in Horseshoe Bay. Everything is house-made and it shows. A winner every time!
Come here with my family at least once or twice a month! food is so delicious and service is amazing! Decided to try take out one day and the food was just as delicious
We have gone to Olive and Anchor for many years and every meal has been exceptional. The service is also friendly and professional. It gets my highest ratings. Can hardly wait to go again and see what the special will be next time.
This was my first visit here, and wow!! so excited to go back! Prices are reasonable, food is delicious, and the service was amazing! There were some big groups there due to Christmas party season, so it was quite loud, but thats not the fault of the restaurant!
The food is always excellent and the staff go out of their way to provide you with the best dining experience. The outdoor patio is beautiful and they welcome dogs.
Booked this place last year for a romantic dinner and they put us by the washrooms and kitchen could feel customers and waiters zipping by me and the kitchen clanking. Prices insane. Small portions. Terrible hours. Not enough veggie food. Haven t been back since not sure I ever will.
I stop at this place 100% of the time I m headed up to Whistler from WA. Great atmosphere, food and service every time. Love it.
2 stars for great location. Expensive mediocre food. Small washroom, sticky old chairs and tables.
Great service and food. Washrooms need improvements
Relaxing before the ferry and this was perfect. Food was good. Espresso martini was the best. Service excellent. All in all. I will be back.
Excellent friendly customer service. Delicious food and the restaurant just has an amazing feeling. If you are in horseshoe bay make sure to stop by at the Olive & Anchor.
Great fresh food all around. A bit on the unsalted side easily fixed. The fried food its very light and does not feel heavy which is great. The are no flavor explosions however the food is still enjoyable. I would come back here. The reason I give it a four is because I have had better food and it would not be fair to rate them the same. What a rip-off, 45 dollars before tip for 3 pints of beer, I could not believe it. No wonder they dont provide paper menus. Not the fastest service either.
Very nice. Great food and service. Pictured is the Anchor Burger. Would go again.
Stopped by for a quick lunch after a hike. Ordered Fish (Cod) and Chips and beers. Both fish and chips were too dry and tastless. Friendly service though. Beer was fine. Will not be back.
Ok, but not worth what they charge.
GOOD FOOD GOOD VIBE GOOD WAITER GOOD DRINKS POOR TOURIST TRAP PRICES POOR PORTIONS POOR VALUE ie. $16.56 double bar rail gin & tonic ( including Tax & Tip ) Will bring a sandwich from downtown and a six pak next time!
Popular restaurant next to Horseshoe Bay! There is also Korean food in the store, and the waiters should all be Asian. The food is very delicious, the interior decoration is also very exquisite, and there is a small garden in the back garden. There are child safety seats, but no childrens utensils. The service staff was very diligent in caring about our preferences for the meal...but I dont know why they took away the tableware before we even said we had finished eating, even though the fries can also be eaten with your hands!
I went to Horseshoe Bay to refresh my mood while driving with my son, and my family of three ate five dishes. The food was delicious and the desserts were also really delicious. The menu was explained and recommended well, and the service was the best~
Food was decent. 7 out of 10 but the service was terrible. Didnt once ask if the food was good and to our liking and very slow service considering the restaurant was not all that busy. The prices were also very high. 10.00 for one glass of beer is a ripoff. I cant recommend this restaurant and I will never go back. There are way too many other good restaurants that deserve my business.
It has been quite a while since I have been out for a nice meal. Food was EXCELLENT ! I even didnt mind the rolling power interuptions.
The soup was great (tomato bisk with gin) and the KFC (Korean fried chicken) was lights out.
Great restaurant, with an eclectic menu. Loved the Korean items on the menu
Was a great experience Vegetarian options: Decent choices Food : 4/5 |
Perfect as per usual!
Quick service and delicious food. The grilled salmon was fantastic. Kid-friendliness: My 4yo enjoyed customizing his kid meal by choosing the sauce and meat for his pasta. Food : 5/5 |
We enjoyed a great lunch at Olive and Anchor. It was a busy Saturday but the dishes still came out fast. The waitstaff were super friendly, and the meals were delicious. Well go back!
Deep fried oyster burger was great. Prices a little steep but in a very convenient spot right by the ferry terminal.
Great fish and chips
Great service, nice vibe and lighting, and unbelievably amazing food. I had the dumplings, tomato soup, garden salad, and fries.
The color of the restaurant is very warm, the tables are widely spaced, and the waiters are full of enthusiasm for work. Both dishes we ordered today were quite delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, and it came with a lot of vegetables. I loved it! A little meat sausage is added to the green-mouthed berries, which makes the taste more delicious and rich. I think the chefs here definitely put great care into making every dish. In addition, the restaurant has a takeout window that provides a variety of burgers and other food, which is quite considerate.
I visited the take away window instead of dine in because of ferry sailing time but am still leaving a review because the staff here are super nice and that means lot:) my aunt recommended I come because she loves their chicken pot pie and gets it everytime she s at horseshoe bay, I had the fries and can honestly say they were great value and delicious. I m going to come back when I have time to dine in!
Good food
Came here with friends for lunch, had chicken ceasar salad, chicken pot pie, seafood chowder and a green salad. Hardly anyone in the restaurant at the time. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The presentation of the food was well done thats it!! chowder was brown and fishy smelling with hardly anything in it. The ceasar was off with dry chicken on top, the pot pie was soupy inside without any chicken or vegies to speak of, the pastry on top was good tho. Very expensive fare for mediocre food. Restaurant chefs and management could do with an orientation. Dont waste your money here.
We stood outside for possibly 20 min, reading the menu & checking recent reviews before deciding to try the Olive & Anchor. From the moment we walked in, our waitress Wulan could not have done a better job. She was very upbeat and gave good recommendations when asked. She was excellent at bringing each course out piping hot just as we were ready for it. We had the wings appetizer and a bowl of butternut squash soup with an order of grilled garlic bread. Both were excellent! Then I ordered the Korean Hot Stone Bibimbop and my husband had the fried halibut fish & chips. He said the fish & chips was the best hed ever had the batter was light & not too thick and the fish was delicious. I did add some salt to the Bibimbop, but otherwise it was just as described and very yummy! We are so glad we decided to try this place! Parking: We easily found a spot on the street a minutes walk from the restaurant. It was free with a 2-hr limit.
Nice place Very friendly service. I bought a fish taco for snack, it was refreshing and the deep fried fish was tender in side and crunchy out side.
Fish taco and anchor burger I ordered with my partner , was really good . I I tried Coorr light beer , but I did it like it and I ordered my usual Corona beer . Really nice view with heated patio outside . We had Nichole as our waitress who was really polite and nice . I don t know when but for sure we will come back again .
Such a spacious casual restaurant to drop by when you are in Horseshoe Bay! At the time that I went, majority of the servers were young and our table servers made few mistakes here and there, but they were really friendly and could see that they were hard-working so we appreciated that! And we were a big group, so we understood that things can get mixed up here and there :) However, I was a little surprised when I got the White Wine Sangria though because Ive never got a sangria in a water cup before It was always a wine glass. But it still tasted good! All the other entrees that our group got looked pretty good, so would love to come back to try different things on the menu. Ive tried: - White Wine Sangria - Linguine Pescatore - Cheesecake of the Day
Menu is always good, service never lets me down. Prices are reasonable for what they offer. Overall, awesome place to eat.
The food was fantastic, great service and wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend Olive & Anchor
I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant- I had not realized it was so nice!
You won t be disappointed! Great service, fast, food is delicious. Only one issue- calamari, to much of breading. Recommended dishes
I like it very much. The food is good
Bright and open restaurant overlooking ferry terminal! We were there for mid afternoon snacks and they had a lot of light dishes to offer. The menu had some Asian influences. Great place to have a drink and chill!
went for a light meal. Nice fish and chips and yummy cheesecake dessert
Food was great, the view is nice (there is construction in front of it though), service was a bit slow.
Best fish and chips I ve ever had
Excellent food. Loved the back patio.
Really nice place close to the waterfront. The food is great and the atmosphere is great.
Excellent food, service and location. Best requested well done fries ever! Korean stone bowl bimipap was delicious.
Best place in Horseshoe Bay, Great selection. Make the ferry wait a positive experience. Food
Good service good beers, beautiful location
I celebrated buying my first car in Vancouver there Was a good experience
Best food in the village and reasonable prices!!! This will now be the only place I eat in horseshoe bay
My friends and I took a short trip to Vancouver and stopped by at this place. Their food and service were excellent. Ill be coming back again for sure.
Delicious food! The salmon was amazing. Gluten free options. Great drinks and helpful service
Excellent fish and chips
Having a meal at the patio overlooking the heart of Horseshoe Bay was a great treat! Diverse menu, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food.
Had the fish and chips sitting next to the window/plastic shield by the sea. I was there for a quick bite to eat with a friend after my ferry ride and the fish was amazing! The fries were good and the price was pretty decent. It was around 1130 am and not too busy, we arrived right before the lunch rush and had our pick of tables. I bet the atmosphere is lovely for dinner, Ill have to come back!
Loved the chicken wings! Shoutout to Marcus for his outstanding service!
Walked past a few restaurants and decided on this one, we wanted to dine in, but it was cheaper to do take out. We got two chicken burgers and a side of fries, they said it would be ready in 10, and it was, maybe even ready a bit earlier. We sat down and opened the fries and they stuffed that take out container full. The burgers were so delicious, the sauce on them was a bit spicy, we weren t expecting it, but it didn t ruin anything! It was even better than a 20 dollar burger I had just a day ago, so big rave! Would come here over and over again, thank you!!
Our large family group had a great experience. The appetizers and meals were all amazing and the service was attentive, professional, and courteous. We can t wait to go back.
Food was just worst i have ever had. Fish and chips no taste and had no flavored battered with hardly fried and soft. Seafood smelled like raw and it not Purley cleaned before cooking.. Beer was mixed of 2 different kinds . Waitress was nice but very hard to get thier attention even after buzzing
We stopped for lunch on the way to Whistler. Great food and service. Beautiful view of thhe bay nearby.
The staff is friendly and professional, caring about the customers, All my lunch was great. I enjoyed the Espresso Martini and the desert a Brandy Pudding was the best I had ever tried in my life! Beautiful patio atmosphere. Food : 5/5
There are too many flies while eating, Looks like something needs to be done... It was very annoying throughout the meal..
I was traveling to the island and thought to have a quick lunch over here, the ambiance was just right and got to learn about a new service style! Where you can grab your servers attention by a device on your table. Beer selections were pretty good. Food
Everything was ... OK. Not bad, not great. It was fine. Food
Awesome. Recommended by friend and I recommend to you. Ordered bibimbop with ribeye steak. Amazing. Lots of ingredients. Honestly if you got a side of rice you could feed two people. Servers were great. They work as a team to serve everyone. Great location. Give it a try.
Good place to hang out with friends. The patio is popular and harder to get a table there but we enjoyed being inside
Great food
We loved our night out at Olive and Anchor. Food was great, staff was exceptional! We ll be back.
Many thanks to Wulan! She is very kind and helpful. Meals are delicious here! You should try!
Try their poutine! I ve had hundreds from different places but theirs is literally the best!!! I was shocked hard for not knowing their poutine until today Food
Definitely the best dining option in Horseshoe Bay. The Korean Hot Stone Bibimbop is extraordinary as is the salmon and the service is super efficient, helpful and friendly. Flawless early dinner. Finally, the Caesar cocktail is better than most!
Amazing gem in this neighborhood. Mix of comfort food and local as well !
Good service, nice ambient, average not great
Its a beautiful place, we dont go out often but its worth the drive just to enjoy the atmosphere of the area.
The food was very tasty and the serving staff helpful. It was nice to have a table 7 of us plus a toddler could sit around
Fast, personable service
So much better than Trolls! Must visit if heading to Horseshoe Bay. Fresh food, great service, and nice atmosphere.
Olive & Anchor is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, youre welcomed by a wonderful interior that sets the perfect tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food here is top-notch! I cant stop raving about their Seafood Chowder; its a heavenly blend of flavors that warmed my heart. The Grilled Halibut was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth, leaving me wanting more. And those Truffle Fries? Pure indulgence! I cant recommend Olive & Anchor enough. If youre a seafood lover or simply someone who appreciates excellent cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The combination of delectable dishes and a charming ambiance makes it a dining experience you wont forget. Ill definitely be returning to Olive & Anchor for more culinary delights.
Top notch restaurant with a view!
Not the best chowder
Great restaurant which offers really good value. Went there with my family and the staff were friendly and helpful and the food great value for money. Will definitely come here again when Im next travelling the Sea to Sky Highway.
This is a gem in Horseshoe Bay. It begins with the staff, theyre super friendly and very accommodating. We had our puppy with us, she was able to join us on the outside patio. Without asking, our server brought some water for the puppy. The outside seating is great, lots of space between the cute little pods/cubbies, its such a lovely atmosphere. Whats a restaurant if the food isnt good? Well, our meals were great. My daughter had the fish and chips, which she devoured, ending with a proclamation that it was just about the best shes had. I had the Thai Beef Panang Curry and it was delicious, the meat was really tender and the veggies & rice were great. My reaction was simple, it was the meal I didnt know I needed today. Were very satisfied with our visit today, thanks Oliver & Anchor! Update: been a second time and it was as great as the first time. This time we got to try the fish tacos, roasted mushroom soup, burger and of course some fish and chips again. Service was wonderful and everything was smooth with our puppy again.
Great spot for lunch. A huge step up from anything else in horseshoe Bay.
absolutely love this restaurant thanks again Rick and the team
Glad to have trusted the reviews i read about this restaurant. Had some of the best Halibut + Chips ever. Crispy fries, Fresh NOT FROZEN halibut with a light, crispy batter. We ll be back for sure to try something else on their menu.
Bistro vibe with delicious food. Obviously everything is made with care. Pot pie, seafood pasta, muscles in white wine cream sauce. Dietary restrictions: Totally willing to meet any adjustments asked for. Unless there was a dietary need, I would order with no changes.
Must try great food at reasonable price points, amazing burger and poutine
Sal.on and veggies cooked to perfection!
We just had an amazing lunch while we waited for our ferry. Omg everything was fresh, hot, homemade and delicious!!!! They were very accommodating about getting us fed and on our way. We will definitely be back.
Great spot to sit and wait for your ferry!

The food and service were good, befitting the good location.
Delicious and filling! Good use of diverse flavors. Staff was very friendly.
Good experience and a very friendly server. Great fish and chips.
My kid and I stopped here to have a bite to eat while waiting for our ferry. The cod and chips was perfect. Being away from home can be stressful and my teen just wanted a comfort meal like home. Thankful for the staff s willingness to fry a couple eggs with a side of cucumber. We hope to be back!
I didnt get to take pictures because my phone was dead but they were able to charge it for me which was nice. I ended up getting the chicken pot pie and it was THE most DELICIOUS pot pie Ive ever had ! I definitely recommend trying it ! My partner got the halibut and it was pretty tasty. The environment was very nice, it felt calming being there

I love that they have the buttons to request service or the check. All restaurants should have this. Super cozy. Has a fireplace that makes everything infinitely better.
