Beach House restaurant located in West Vancouver, features a rotating seafood-centric menu that brings fresh, bright flavours and the most in-season local ingredients to the forefront of each dish.Together with an extensive cocktail menu and a wine list that includes over 101 different selections, Beach House offers a West Coast dining experience that is truly unlike any other.
Great location, stunning views of the burrard inlet and very good food. This place is very reasonably priced, ample portions and best of all, high quality seafood. We came here on a tuesday lunch time and it was 85% full which is excellent. Was originally looking forward to trying out their brunch menu but realized that was only served on weekends. Next time perhaps! Would come back again.
The Beach House Restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was flawless every dish, from the fresh and flavorful salads to the perfectly prepared entrees, was a delight. The stylish decor and classy vibe made the experience even more special. What truly sets this place apart is the amazing view it is breathtaking and adds so much to the ambiance. Dining here feels like a treat for all the senses. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect meal with an unforgettable setting!
Beach House is a gem nestled by the ocean at Dundarave Beach in West Vancouver. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, and the drinks were refreshing and well-prepared. The host was incredibly polite and attentive, making us feel warmly welcomed. With stunning ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning to enjoy this beautiful setting again.
I have a friend who loves this place and could not stop recommending it. Finally got a chance to try! I really enjoyed the starter we got, the chorizo mussel bowl. Very nicely seasoned and the server recommended we ordered a side of toast to add to the 2 it already came with, so they we can dip it in the sauce. Great idea! My entree, the sablefish was nicely done, but the sides were under seasoned and not the best. The asparagus especially was super tough. My partner was disappointed in his steak as he found it underwhelming. The coconut cake for dessert was light and airy. Didn’t feel like I was eating such a big slice!
It is a beautiful restaurant with great view of the ocean. I was looking forward to be here then quite disappointed with overall experiences. The ambiance and food were great yet the services were rather disappointing. The wait time for food and hostess was both long although there are many staffs on the floor and quite available tables. There are a lot of service staffs who are talking to each other. As a result very hard to get attention of the service team.
After a lovely visit to Horseshoe Bay, we decided to try the beach house restaurant around 9 PM on a busy weekend. The atmosphere was lively yet inviting, and the service was impeccable. Our large group sampled various dishes, each bursting with flavor and creativity. The clientele leaned older, adding a charming sophistication. In short, the beach house resturant is a must-visit for an exceptional dining experience!
Let’s get the goods out before the bad: The Atmosphere was 10/10 amazing. Beautiful sunset and view of the ocean, cheerful staffs and customers, nice and roomy layout which checks out the perfect spot for a summer dinner. Staffs were efficient, nice, professional, and just a blessing to dine with. Ok, now the bad - the food was bad. Full disclaimer I’m speaking for the dish I got, not for other people’s food. Ok - For some odd reason everything was unnecessarily peppered and salted to the point that we could barely taste the other ingredient. Why heavily salt the spaghettini vongole? The clam just taste salty, pasta was salty, that was the main theme. The medium rare steak sirloin was so dry. I can’t see any juice left in there. And again, heavily salted. When I chew on it the meat nearly crumbled in my mouth. For a $50 dish it tasted like expiring $5 steak from Walmart. Again, that’s just my dish, not sure for other people
The Beach House Restaurant has really stepped up its game! This visit was even better than my previous ones. The biscuit is a must-try—fluffy and delicious. The crab cakes were perfectly seasoned, I like how it's just seared on the outside making it crispy, oysters good; and the mussels were simply outstanding. I'll definitely be coming back.

Amazing time here for a date with my girlfriend, they were very attentive and had a wonderful attention to detail, we ordered the sable fish and the catch of the day. We also tried the salmon oshi press!
The quality of food and services dropped substantially in last year or so. Very unfortunate to see!
Everything is perfect. Absolutely recommend!
The soup was absolutely delicious rich and comforting! The spaghetti and salad were also great, with fresh flavors that hit the spot. Although the service was a bit slow, the quality of the food made up for it, leaving us satisfied and happy.
Nice neighbourhood hangout great appetizer and drinks menu
I really hate when restaurants try to really screw the customer. Starting point for glass of wine $19, barely drinkable. They need to get a grip, if the food was exceptional maybe, the french fries were so crunchy I actually cut my throat on it. 2 days later still painful when swallowing.
Went here visiting from Alberta. Loveddd the food, got the seafood tower and a couple new drinks i ve never tried before, recommended by Austin. Super funny guy and got on my nerves a little bit cause he s a Canucks fan Would recommend anyone who wants to try this place to go see Austin!
Great experience, our server Austin was amazing and made it a great time. Super polite and very helpful/knowledgable.
Got to visit this spot with some family, we came in not ever being here before and had an amazing greeting from the host as well as amazing service our servers name was Austin, was a few weeks ago and been meaning to leave a review. Id like to thank him for his kind hospitality. Thought I d recommend this spot as I haven t been to many other restaurants like it .
Amazing place to be anytime of the day, beautiful setting, amazing food, and amazing service, and the view is just something else, the wine was great and the server we had was amazing, Server name Austin.
My fiancé and I had our anniversary dinner here. Our server, Austin went out of his way to ensure we had great service and felt extra special. Food was delicious, and overall a very good experience.
the view is great! we came for dinner (the spicy margarita was great), my friend got the steak but i m allergic to most sea food and there wasn t much variety to choose from. the waitress insisted so much for me to get something so i ended up getting nachos . they were disgusting. didn t even eat them and still got charged for it.
Review for Beach House Restaurant: I recently visited Beach House Restaurant and, unfortunately, it wasn t the experience I remember from before. The service has taken a noticeable downturn; there was a long delay between ordering and receiving our food, and it seemed like our server was overwhelmed, making us wait even for simple requests. When our food did finally arrive, it lacked the same quality and presentation I used to enjoy here. It s disappointing to see one of my favorite spots slip like this, and I hope they address these issues soon. Beach House has always had potential, but they need to step up service and food quality to match what they used to be.
The price is expensive compared to the Seafood Tower configuration (oysters and shrimp are small in size). The service and atmosphere are good, so it is a good place to go for a drink of wine.
Picked to come to here because well my brother made his own birthday reservation and our parents came from Ontario and we came from Alberta. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. From being greeted at the door, to our table. The atmosphere was great, the good was great but what made the whole experience was our waiter, Jared. He was attentive, sociable and just all around amazing! He definately made our evening at the restaurant super enjoyable! When I am in the area again I will definately be back.
Everything wonderful. Exceptional service. Very good food. The pasta in pesto sauce with shrimp was delicious.
I really enjoyed my experience here at The Beach House. My wife and I loved our experience. The lobster roll was to die for!
It was our first time at the Beach House, and it was fantastic! The food and view was amazing, and our server, Mark, elevated our experience to the next level. We will absolutely be back.
A beautiful view of the sunset to compliment the food and drinks are second to none.
Good: The place is super nice, super nice location and view. Bad: The service is okay, not great. My fish and chips with the halibut was so greasy no taste just way too fat. Food is really average for the price. Plus we had a reservation for 8 people and they put us in 2 separate tables that we could not move (weird choice). They should step up their game if they want to charge that price.
It is way too noisy. You do not need to crank up the music so much. You cannot hear the person next to you. You come to a restaurant for pleasant conversation, not screaming at each other. Food
Good food, good service, half price wine bottles on Wednesdays!
We had a great time here with great food and beach view
The Beach House Restaurant is an awesome spot, especially if you love great food! Their three pasta dishes are amazing perfectly cooked with rich flavors and super fresh ingredients. Just trust your server; they always have great meal and wine suggestions. The cozy, beachside vibe makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.
The Beach House Restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience with friendly service, although it was slower than expected for a non-busy day. My servers quickly corrected a mix-up with my iced coffee, which I appreciated. The jumbo lump crab Benedict was mediocre; I had requested medium-cooked eggs, but they turned out quite runny, indicating room for improvement. In contrast, the prawn and scallop spaghettini was excellent, featuring very fresh seafood. While we also tried the Nutella French toast, which was decent but nothing special, overall, this place is mainly notable for its breathtaking beach view. Parking: Lots of free parking nearby as it is by the beach. Parking lot is a minute walk away from the restaurant.
I come here often with my friends. Yesterday, I was there with my girlfriend since it was our anniversary. Everyone was so welcoming and they all congratulated us, which was very thoughtful and sweet. Our server (I believe his name was Jose) was very kind and professional and such a nice person. Thank you Jose. The vibe and the food quality were also amazing! There was a Karen who Jose was also helping and OH MY GOD! She was even on my nerves with her Sushi and Wasabi, let alone poor Jose. She was so loud and was acting like a baby, shouting Jose, Jose every second! She didn t even know how to leave the restaurant. I felt bad for her family lol. I really respect you guys, your patience is so good hahaha!
The atmosphere was amazing, I chose a table on the summer terrace. I chose pasta and i didnt regret it, it was very tasty. But the service was unpleasant. I waited a long time for the waiter to make an order. Then waited a long time for my dish and after eating I had to walk around the restaurant to find server and ask for the bill.
Amazing service, and great food!
Years ago I was a regular. Moved a cross the bridge and hadnt been back in about 6 years. Location and decor were still nice. But the food was awful (crab cakes & calamari) and the service was atrocious (he was very pushy, more than being trained to upsell). After we said we were just in for appies he completely disappeared!. Didnt quality check us, didnt deliver our food, didnt clear our plates (we paid with dirty plates still on the table) and was no where to be found when we wanted to pay our bill. We actually said afterwards that we wished we hadnt tipped. Coming from two people who worked as bartenders all through uni, but it was really that bad. Wont be back
Terrific and professional service from Blake. Halibut special was simply outstanding
Wait for our hour, food still not coming
THE BEACH HOUSE is simply the perfect place! The view, the drinks, the service, the energy... if youre having a bad day, all you need is a glass of wine on their terrace (better if its with someone special )
Had dinner here with a colleague while visiting the area. Loved the ambience, ocean views, service, and food was amazing.
This was an amazing experience! The service was very friendly and top notch, the food was the best Ive had anywhere in years, and the location was also unbeatable (we got a patio seat on a beautiful sunny day). We started with some appetizers. I particularly loved the Aburi Wagyu Oshi Press - the combination of flavours was delectable. For mains we had Halibut (catch of the day) as well as the Sablefish, both of which were done perfectly - melt in your mouth deliciousness! (And was paired beautifully with an Italian Pinot Grigio.) And the menu was great too. While we opted for the seafood this time (highly recommended!) they also have burgers and sandwiches on the menu that sound delicious and are a very reasonable price - a great excuse to get back frequently for that amazing view!
I ordered the eggs benedict yesterday. It was underwhelming. My eggs were cold. I should have sent it back but its awkward when everyone else is eating their food at your rable. The dressing on the salad greens was good. Gluten free option was just a bun, which was hard to cut through. Ive had much better brunch in Fort Langley at Sabas where they offer a delicious herb biscuit for their gf guests. There were no dairy or gluten free options for dessert either. Very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber.
We had the opportunity to have brunch at the Beach House on Sunday, September 1st and overall the experience was underwhelming. It was a spur of the moment stop-in and despite not having a reservation, the concierge/greeter was very nice and after a short wait was able to get us a nice seat in the indoor (enclosed) patio area. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely, with pretty settings and a pretty view out to the outer patio, beach area and further out to the water. Unfortunately, that s about all that left the experience enjoyable. The table service was lacklustre and laissez-faire at best, being slower and much less attentive than was paid to the much-wealthier (and very likely regular) local clientele. The brunch meals we had did not provide the value to match the price: my partner s French Toast was quite small and the advertised seasonal mixed berries consisted of one sliced strawberry; and my Eggs Benedict was fine (not cooked to order) and consisted more of the salad portion than the potatoes and Benedict itself. We are most definitely not picky eaters; having had the fortunate opportunity to partake in many different eateries in the Vancouver area and throughout the world and we were quite saddened to have had such a lacklustre experience for such a pretty setting. Additionally, I was saddened to see the staff provide over-the-top service (and a free meal) to a local group who most assuredly did not warrant such attention after they expressed upset at having to wait a brief delay for their reserved seating I know the restaurant cannot help the manners (or lack thereof) of their clientele, but it is sad to see such lavishness and attention given by a hardworking staff.
location Parking: location Food : 4/5 |
The seafood is extremely good. But don t try napoleon, it s not a real Napoleon cake. Wheelchair accessibility: The access is not that easy, but you can make it
Amazing location, beautiful views and delicious food.
Decided to celebrate my birthday dinner at Beach House as we saw good videos online, and it is a waterfront restaurant. When we first got there the service was great, greeted by the hosts and by our intial waiter. Five minutes in, we switch waiters as our table belonged to someone elses section but he advised that we were in good hands and that he will let the new waiter know its my birthday. Service: The second waiter was not attentive, he didnt come to check on us but spent plenty of time at another table chattiing and laughing. We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive and longer than necessary to clear our plates. I didnt get a refill on my drink until dessert. It was beginning to get chilly, and we heard another waiter offering guests blankets. So we asked our waiter for one, five minutes later he was carrying it and literally put it on another guests shoulders. When dessert came, he said oh I just found out its your birthday I have a surprise for you. Then a manger came over with a smaller version of the same dessert we were already eating with a candle on it and then proceeded to ask us how our service was while holding the birthday dessert in his hands. In my opinion, it was pretty awkward and bad timing. Just ask us at the end or with the bill not while holding my birthday candle. I also dont understand why you would serve me a smaller version of the dessert Im already eating.... at that point just comp the dessert. Food: The chicken wings were good. Husband had the branzino which had a nice crisp. I ordered the miso cod, it was good however the presentation could have been better with the vegetables. There was an entire stem in my meal that was uncut, I dont think this was intentional but if it was it should definitely be cut into smaller sizes. The full size chocolate cake was delicious. The smaller birthday version was dry.
A little on the pricey side but the view is worth it.
wonderful atmosphere and delicious foods i tried steak , believe me this was wonderful
could not how tiny the oysters were.
Amazing locally sorced and seasonal dishes. Food was fresh and prepared perfectly. Servers were attentive but not over bearing. Great view of the bay while enjoying your meal, highly recommend sunset time to enjoy!
In my experience, and I went four times, they always make you wait and its half empty inside. The food is good, the location and the view, excellent, the service is so-so and the waiting time, I find it pretentious
We were at outside patio enjoy happy hours
This restaurant is located in a prime spot in West Vancouver. The view is beautiful, and everything is well-coordinated with the environment. However, considering the price and setting, the burgers taste was below average and didnt meet my expectations. Its definitely not something I would order again.
We absolutely enjoyed Happy Hour at the Beach House and especially appreciated our server Britney s special attention to make our visit so enjoyable!! The delicious birthday treat at the end was a very kind touch!
This place is always a regular staple for us. The new sushi on their menu is fantastic. The setting and location is hard to beat. The service is always good and reliable.
Gorgeous location, beautiful views, and ambience is great. There was an issue with flies flying around in the main (enclosed) dining area. Service is friendly, but it took quite some time to get anything we needed and there was a lack of follow ups/check-ins: appies arrived with/after mains, water carafe was not refilled, no check-in after receiving mains. Menu is extensive and food was pretty good. There was an issue (burnt biscuit) but was resolved with little fuss. Food was plated beautifully and portion sizes were perfect. I ordered the vongole and it came perfect. The garlic bread was hard as rocks though. The truffle aioli with the parm fries was great. The (new set) biscuits & honeycomb was fluffy and came with a perfect amount of honey & butter (cant beat honeybutter). *Note: there is *no* honeycomb provided/plated as a part of the dish - *just honey*. Note: there is no childrens menu (not an issue, just a note - we ordered off the regular menu for them).
It s one of the best restaurants in West Vancouver. The staff are friendly, and the location is excellent. I have enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Rly great beachy spot. My food was great. Staff were ok. Drinks were yummy and vibes were up.
I had a my baby s first birthday in here at beach house. Food was good, view was fantastic service was great. All my guests were very satisfied and very happy. Food
Been loving coming to beach house for over 10+ years, great views, great restaurant, great service. The only feedback I have is there s NOT ENOUGH VEGAN OPTIONS on the menu! There used to be a stellar tofu salad that got removed. The Cobb salad without bacon is just ok and the vegan poke bowl is not filling enough. Please please please have more vegan options! Once that s done I ll be visiting every single week! Thank you.
Came here for the first time with my partner and was wowed by their Sable fish. The potatoes were a little lacking in seasoning, however, the Sable fish made up for it. Cocktails were wonderful and the view was beautiful. Will definitely be coming back :) Parking: Could be busy depending on the time and location, however, we found decent parking not far away.
Absolutely 5 star place
Our night started out great, service was awesome but as we finished up and the night went on I think we became invisible to our waiter. Between finishing our food and getting the bill it took over 45 minutes. He walked by us numerous times without even looking our way.
Just perfect combination of food & view
Polite staff, good food
***Update*** *****My parents and I were invited for dinner and our 3rd visit to make up from our last experience as commented below. The service definitely went above and beyond our expectations and we really want to thank Hannah (Assistant Mgr), Sidney (our server) and the rest of the team for an enjoyable evening. Food as always was amazing. I ve updated my rating to reflect. Will definitely be back and have no hesitation to recommend to friends and family.***** 2nd time at restaurant however service here continues to be challenge. Waitress must be new as she was not familiar with the menu when asking what type of crab was used in the lump crab cakes. Initial answer was Atlantic. I asked her to check with the kitchen and she came back with the answer small. 100% she never checked. Bus boys also seem new and very inexperienced. When one of them was spraying windex on the front entrance doors, he kept getting into my guest s face. We told him and he said sorry but kept spraying anyways. Another busboy asked us if he could clear some plates on the table. He asked us to hand them over to him. Honestly we re only at a 4 seater and he wasn t holding anything and didn t need to lean in with any difficulty. We provided our feedback to the manager and appreciate being comped the drinks but we re not expecting to be comped anything. Hesitate to return based on poor service and it s a shame because the food was good.
We came in as a couple for a Saturday night dinner and we had an amazing experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious with many different options of where to sit. We sat on the enclosed patio which was covered but let in a lovely evening breeze. Chef Gianluca Russo really cares about the menu and quality of food. We started with the seafood platter which was a great size and super fresh! We then shared a calamari which was one of the best I ve had in the city generous portions, no fillers, and came with a bright yuzu aioli. We finished with the miso sea bass which was truly incredible. Seasoned beautifully and melted in the mouth like butter. The cocktails were all yummy, and they were even able to make the zero-proof drinks alcoholic on request. Our server Derek was lovely and made the night so fun. Overall, this is a super solid restaurant for any outing, whether you re looking for a casual meal or to celebrate something special. We will be back!
My family of 10 celebrated my daughters 30th birthday here, and I must say its been the best experience weve ever had anywhere! Amazingly delicious food, top-level service, gorgeous venue, and very reasonable prices. And the happy hour menu is THE BOMB! My wife and I enjoyed the Cajun Salmon sliders and side salads. My daughter loved the Crab Cakes! The variety of dishes and quality were sublime. Definitely coming back with the crew!!!
We make a reservation for a party of 9, we arrived on time and we wait around 25 min to be seated but the table and the space was so uncomfortable, fortunately they moved us to a better big table, the service wasn t the best, the food don t came out together for all the group, the atmosphere was good, the main dishes tasty as well, but salty, in the end they gave us a courtesy so the dessert was on the house, it was ok, nothing impressive and a bit bland, but in general we have a great time but i expected more.
Fantastic management and credit to the restaurant industry. We were taken care of Rennie and Hugo, both excellent.
Easily the best restaurant in the North Shore
Excellent food (Calamari, lobster roll, catchof the day), not a bad Mai Taias well. Great attentive service too.
I had an amazing experience at this establishment. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. The views of the beach from this restaurant are spectacular.
Oof. We came here to celebrate my girlfriend s birthday on Thursday. We were really excited and had been looking forward to sitting on a nice patio and enjoying some seafood and sunset vibes on the patio. I have to say, we left extremely disappointed. The food was decent, and the views of the water was spectacular, but the service.. oh boy. The service is almost non-existent. I m not sure if that s just what you get from dining at a place like this, but I would really hope that the management staff here would touch up on some of the service standards here. Especially with such a high price point. Our server was friendly and welcoming at first, but once he took our dinner orders, he never came back to check in on us. Not for appies. Not for our empty drinks. Not for our entrees hitting the table, for a quality check, for a glass of wine with my fish, nothing. Not only does it look like a lack of attention, it s also a complete miss on sales as I definitely would have purchased a bottle of wine with dinner had I had a chance. Come here for the views, expensive food, but definitely don t expect service.
Parking: You need to find parking here but it s worth it. Ocean front dining with great service. Food
Great food, service and amazing views! Never disappoints. Cant wait to go back!
Excellent service fantastic food at this beautiful ocean view restaurant private room upstairs with bar and outside patio perfect for any private event with an incredible view
Fantastic location...amazing food. The seafood tower was simply unbelievable. Friendly and courteous service with a million dollar view while you eat and relax.
Food was good. Ordered a burger, fish and chips and some drinks. Was missing side order of mushrooms. Server didnt come check on us and we had to flag another server. By the time our server came and checked on us we were finished eating and she said the side mushrooms would take 5-7 mins. We declined waiting for the side mushrooms. She blamed the kitchen for the mix up. Overall service was subpar. Good views but the dining experience was underwhelming. Almost forgot, put our name down for a seat and was told about 45 and we would receive a text. We came back around that time to check and the hostess said your table has been ready for a while now, we forgot to text you. Took about 10 mins to get the bill after we asked for it. Not sure what our expectations should be. Maybe giving 3 stars is a bit generous.
Drove an hour away just to come home eat here because my friends and family reffered me here. I would not come here even if the food was free. By the time we ordered a round of food and appetizers it was over an hour. Getting our bill was over 30 minutes. Ontop of that when we first arrived the server said it was 20 minutes for our table, we arrived 20 minutes later and she said they are just setting up our table which took another 15 minutes. The funny thing is when we left, our table was already with someone else not even 2 minutes after. Talk about getting the table ready
My favorite restaurant. Friendly staff and amazing food. Best view.
Fantastic beachside restaurant, the patio is just perfect. Food is great! Please bring back the lobster roll (sandwhich)!
Great food, great service, good atmosphere!! Staff are very kind and top of things. Vegetarian options: I ordered a dish that could be made vegan, and it was great!
Our company booked out the top floor for our annual summer event. The food and service were great. Not too many restaurants offer an ocean view patio. Highly recommend!
Lovely restaurant/bar right on the water providing great views back to Stanley Park & Lions Gate Bridge. Seating is inside, on verandah or on front terrace under umbrellas beside the water. There on a Friday pm, where Happy Hour offers applied to various food & drink items. We enjoyed the calamari & fish tacos with lots of guacamole (late delivery). A mistake was made & we ended up with a fries in error (not charged for). Drinks were good - various white wines & beer although am error was made with 1 beer order. Staffing was interesting as I think we had 4 different wait staff in a couple of hours, all who were friendly but seemed to lead to the errors in food & drinks. Ice was brought to table when requested The location & atmosphere was great & made up for any errors & delays. If in area, get there & enjoy.
This was our fist visit to Vancouver so we were looking for recommendations for a nice restaurant. The Beach House was recommended and we couldn t have been more pleased. We were greeted right away with a friendly hostess who took us to our table on the Patio. The floor manager came over to introduce himself (Ardie) . Our server (Mark) took our order promptly. Now let me tell you about the food it was top notch the seasoning on the sea bass was the best I ever had it was so succulent and melted in my mouth. My husband had the daily special Halibut which I had to try and my God the halibut had a nice sear and the seasoning on it was delicious. Once we were done of our meal We had to thank the chief Gianluca Russo who was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his profession . We highly recommend this restaurant. Chiefs Kiss on this meal
Today we went to the restaurant for breakfast and were placed on a waitlist for 45 minutes. After finally being seated, we ordered our breakfast, but we had to wait another 45 minutes for a poached egg that never arrived. Frustrated and still hungry, we decided to leave the restaurant. If your time is precious, I would strongly advise against going here.
Excellent food and service - Went for a birthday brunch and the attention to details was awesome. From the hostess on, everyone was lovely to us, we got a waterfront table and lots of attention. The crab cake benedict is absolutely worth driving to West Van for. Best ever!
STAY AWAY from this restaurant Nobody cares about you, very disrespectful staff. I would never come back again. Food : 1/5
Love their terrace by the water.
First of all, I never leave bad reviews. But today I have to. Our total bill was $176, this included two appetizers, 2 diet cokes and two beers. It was my mom s birthday so I wanted to treat her, usually when we go to a restaurant and it s a birthday, we are gifted a free dessert. That did not happen. When we left we felt unsatisfied due to the small portions and very very small mussels that werent even the size of a penny; very disappointing as someone who always gets mussels at most restaurants. Also the tuna tacos for $22 were so so small and unsatisfying. Let s just say we left unsatisfied in our bellies, but very satisfied with our server who was such a sweetheart!!
Sunny weather, good friends, gathering together, beautiful scenery, delicious food, but unfortunately the bathroom is smelly
Beautiful view, great food, service and vibe.
A special guest came today and I made a reservation at the Beach House. I went there so often that I even memorized the menu. I arrived 10 minutes before meeting the guest, confirmed the reservation, and received guidance. However, it was a seat in front of the door. I told the guide that I wanted a quiet seat, but was told that it was for 5 people. A little later, there were three people who had moved from Perio. The other seat was empty until we left an hour and a half later. I have no intention of visiting again because I feel like I was subtly discriminated against
The best thing about this place is the location - right on the beach, beautiful views. It ends there. The place masquerades as high-end, but the reality is its average at best. The food is so boring, some of it is just sloppy. Our server was not engaging or helpful, failed to check on the food, said the bare minimum, really felt like she hated being there (I shared that sentiment). I think if you spent a day at the beach and wanted a drink afterward, thats fine, but dont waste your money beyond that.
S l o w service. If I am sobering up between drinks, thats not a good look. BUT food was excellent and, of course, the view is amazing. Good spot for a date night, especially if you dont have any plans afterwards. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options available
A very enjoyable meal on a beautiful day right next to the water. Great service and fresh, flavorful food.
The vibe is great. I went with my cousins and family and we had a good time. Food was good but our server is great! Pouyan is a great bartender who treated us very well.
1) Location is amazing. On days with fine weather you can dine right by the seafront, and on days with gloomier weather you can dine in-store. 2) Service is amazing, with attentive staff. 3) Food is very good. I especially recommend the oysters - they are very fresh. We came here just to eat oysters and enjoy the wine and the view.
Excellent location! Even better seafood.
What an absolutely delightful experience! The food here was incredibly good, we had: Wagyu sushi, Ahi tuna tacos, Chirashi poke bowl, Passion fruit sour, Summer Berry napoleon, oysters, and rib eye steak. Everything was delicious and flawlessly presented. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful with making recommendations. One of the best servers we ve ever had. On top of the dining experience, the restaurant is in a stunning location right on the beach. Simply beautiful. I can t recommend The Beach House Restaurant highly enough! Parking: We were lucky to find parking very close by, but there are very few spots available near the restaurant entrance. There is a drop off zone at the entrance in case you need to drop some of your party off whilst you go and find parking elsewhere.
I did a bad decision to celebrate my daughter graduation at this restaurant, we waited so long for are food and drinks lots of water during this time too , food it wasn t fresh and uncooked, Quality zero, Service zero camper to the price I give that Resturant zero star I never recommended to anyone. They destroyed my special daughter night front of their boyfriend family .
Very good experience, great service
A celebration of love, life, and work. A cool place, kind of a hidden gem by the shore. Our host, Jose, a gentleman.
Manu needs to be updated!!!! Had Cobb Salad with Steak Steak was so dry. We also ordered catch of the day for $48 it was very basic nothing wow. Staff was amazing but the menu needs to be updated atmosphere is great but want to enjoy a good meal and this place does not have good selection of food from the menu!!!
Kudos to Jarred I had a wonderful experience. The sable fish is
Reserved online with few available options. Disappointed to see many tables unoccupied in better locations. Other than that, everything else was excellent! Apps and entrees were vey good. I highly recommend the Crab Cakes! What made the evening come together was the above and beyond service from Matthew. Can t say enough about how he made our evening special!
Absolutely stunning views. Really great food and half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays! Very generous portions and our server gave us a little celebration cake for our honeymoon. Miso sea bass was quite sweet (we were warned as much) but that and the maple soy fish were delicious.
Nice setting on the beach. Wonderful sitting outside.
There was hair in the food but we got it on the house and got it remade. Staff was friendly but food was very mid. We ended up finding another hair in the food and we ended up getting the entire dessert menu for free! It was amazing Parking: Very full and people were forcing our car to go away. Not friendly community Kid-friendliness: me and my friend got free food :)
Excellent experience! Visited on a Saturday and we ordered calamari, crab cakes, fish and chips, pasta with shrimp and scallops, coconut cake, and chocolate cake. Service was outstanding! It was so nice to have an amazing meal and then walk by the water. We live in Steveston and it s worth the trip for a great meal and amazing views.
This is an attractive restaurant at Dundarave Beach on the waterfront of Burrard Inlet. We first dined at Beach House about 40 years ago, but the restaurant has evolved, growing into a large facility with much-increased capacity. It has been one of about 70 of the Fuller Familys restaurant holdings (Earls, Cactus Club, Joeys, Birdies, etc.) for several years. The menu focuses on seafood but other things are offered as well. I ordered the crab and shrimp salad. It was attractive as presented but the shredded crab was barely noticeable and the shrimp were so overcooked they were hard and dry. This was is a good dish as conceived, but the execution was a failure. I advised the server about the shrimp but no adjustment was made. My partner ordered the maple-soy sablefish. That seafood is a favourite of hers and this version was perfectly cooked. It was served atop broccolini with uninspired potatoes on the side. The greens were supposed to be tender-crisp but a few pieces were cut too large and undercooked. Desserts were the Berry Napoleon and Coconut Chiffon Cake. Both very nice.
This store has a great location. However, it is a popular restaurant, so we recommend making reservations in advance. Oysters are smaller than those eaten in Japan, so ordering more will make you even more satisfied! My personal recommendation is clam chowder.
Really nice and fancy restaurant, excellent food and service with great views. Parking can be a challenge.
Beautiful ambiance, best patio by far! The service was good but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The Cobb salad needs some attention, I won t go into the details of why it was poor but if one is inclined to order it .Don t!
Love the patio , we went at night time the vibes were amazing
Delicious Fare.
Good food and drinks, it has that earls vibe now, I think In the past the beach house was higher end like a hys or upscale downtown restaurant. Now It is would more like a earls or cactus club quality. Still the best location though... Update... New menu, slightly higher end.. I think this is the right move. Lots of great seafood choices.
Food was amazing, and the servers were very polite and friendly. Upon receiving a text that our table was ready we waited 20 minutes to get a table. Next we ordered our food which was delicisou! I received my full meal, my sister received lobster - part of the dish and the third dish did not come out for 15 minutes. Not sure if it was a shortage of staff but it was the first time we were disappointed. At the end we waited 30 minutes for the bill ( we were not drinking ) ams the lady behind us what s really irritated as well. Food is still amazing, will make a reservation next time.
Excellent upscale beach restaurants nestled in West Vancouver waterfront area. Can be very busy, so make reservations for be prepared for a long wait.
Absolutely relaxing place with yummm food server was amazing
I recently faced discrimination by the hostess standing at the front when I asked to be put on the waiting list. I am a simple looking South Asian new mom and I am not sure what about me she didn t like. I approached the hostess and asked her if she could seat the seven of us including my 1 year old. Something in the way she was looking at me told me that she would tell me there is no place for me in the restaurant and she did. She outrightly refused me and said that there is no way she could seat me and my party for the next two hours. Everything is full. I walked away to the rest of my party and asked my young cousin to go check with again. He went and chatted with her and he was told there will be a table available within the next 40 minutes. I knew this would happen. The table became available in the next 15, not 40 minutes, and when I walked into the restaurant with my cousin and the rest of our party the hostess wouldn t meet my eye. I looked at her many times but she just wouldn t look at me and kept chatting with my cousin. We had our meal. Our waitress was nice, I paid a hefty bill and tipped generously. I did ask the waitress to check with the hostess if she didn t like my face and told her about the incident. The waitress apologized but anyone who has ever faced this would know that such incidents stay with you. So disappointed and deeply saddened.
A place with a beautiful view..
Casual and absolutely nothing special place. The only great part is location with the great view. Food and service was not reaching expectations. Hot fish and cold vegetables. Hot burger but cold fries. The worth Cesar salad I had in Vancouver. (Red cabbage and cherry tomato in it . They Brought our second course meal twice right at the middle of appetizers. Takes about 10-15 min to get a garlic bread and about the same for garlic aioli. Brother had 18th birthday and absolutely no effort from the restaurant to make it any way special. (Did let them know about it) No desert on house, not even virgin drink or latte that he ordered. Spend 400$+. Most likely not gonna come back.
The Beach House is a very nice place to eat! Very pretty with comfortable seats and wonderful warm service! I highly recommend going here if looking for various seafood samples, though it isnt all they offer. Additionally, the food doesnt leave you heavy. Their desserts are extremely good (but a bit small) and I enjoy coming here with family. My favourite dish is the Prawn & Scallop Spaghettini and my all-time favourite dessert is the Warm Chocolate Cake!
Clam chowder was really good.
Atmosphere, food
Did not add the chicken to the Cobb salad on a door dash order and say it s door dash s fault
Me and my man went here for a late lunch and let me say the food was absolutely delectable. We ordered the yuzu calamari, individual oysters, prawn and scallop pasta, and the warm chocolate cake for dessert. The food was so good that it silenced us. The service was impeccable and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We loved how fast the food came. We sat inside which had a lovely atmosphere but the patio looked stunning as well. The food is pricey but I can confidently say that the quality makes it worth it. I highly recommend the yuzu calamari and the prawn and scallop pasta. They also offer deals/discounts on different days of the week (weekdays)! Consider going here for brunch, happy hour, date, or a family dinner, and make sure to make a reservation to avoid a wait!
What a fantastic service. Maddie was our waitress today and she was so wonderful and kind. She made our experience much more pleasant. The food was not greasy like most brunches we ve had in Vancouver. Although it was pretty basic in terms of presentation and details, it was good quality. The patio is beautiful facing the ocean. Parking can fit in about 4-6 cars, otherwise you d need to park at Dundrave. Kid-friendliness: We had one kid with our group and Maddie was so kind to speak with her and bring her papers and color pencils. She patiently spent time to explain the menu to her and answer her questions.
I got a cold after eating here .
A really famous restaurant on the north shore, great place to get some food after a walk on the beach. One of the most memorable restaurants I had in Vancouver. The food is great, but the price is not low. The server was really nice and so as the astronomy where you could choose to sit outside during the summer. Definitely go for a visit if you happen to be around or just don t know what to eat.
An elevated beachside restaurant with an in-closed patio and beachside patio. Seafood, steak, burgers and salads, all ranges $$-$$$. 50% of wine bottles on Wednesdays. Note to managers: Coffee. You need to offer alternatives to milk. Soy, almond, or oat milk need to be options. This is an issue every time I bring new people (and they end up not getting any coffee with brunch). Invest in a new barista machine
We had lunch on Sunday and the fish was absolutely terrible overpriced and not tasty. Extremely disappointed because we have been coming to this place for so long, but the food quality has gone downhill
Went in with friends for dinner. A very busy place with a lively vibe. View was nice like vancouver always is. Service was efficient. As the restaurant was really packed, we didnt expect or get more attention than necessary. Food was good but not outstanding to me. We ordered oysters, crab cake, chicken wings and Caesar salad as starters to share. Our main to share is the ribeye and sablefish. Of course a bottle of local wines to go with our dinner. Anyhow, we had a good dinner
We drive from new Westminster to west Vancouver as we really enjoy this restaurant
The ambiance is cozy yet elegant, perfect for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The seafood dishes, espcially the grilled salmon, are a must-try fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Vegetarian options are plentiful and equally delightful. Service is attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food and the unparalleled view justify the cost. The only drawback might be the wait time during peak hours, but the scenic location makes the wait worthwhile.
We had a reservation for a late dinner, and the restaurant wasnt full, which was a good experience. The food was outstanding, both pasta and the salmon were absolutely flavourful. We had Sangria, which I recommend. It was the best sangria I tried in Vancouver so far.
First time here for Father s Day. My new favourite seafood spot in the Vancouver area!
It was such a lovely dining experience with the Beach House! Ronnie and Matt gave us exceptional service. Thank you again for both of you! We tried their ribeye steak, sirloin and lobster tail and fresh oysters and we were completely satisfied with our food and its taste. Food
Nothing special here. Went here with two little kids. Everything for us was so mundane I have really none to say about. Service was not attentive, rather superficial. Foods were decent but did not taste like its pricing. Only atmosphere was good as we set at a heated outdoor patio. Not sure why you d spend this much for such mediocre restaurant in my opinion. We did hang out at the beach afterwards, which was the best part of the experience.
amazing food with great staff. the location is perfect. a little bit pricey but totally value for the money! I went there with my mom and we had a great time with a great view!
Super chill place. Dont come here...leave it for us.
Updating review: We were invited back to the restaurant by Hannah, after a conversation regarding past issues The service has improved significantly, still a little room for improvement but really much better. They were more attentive and engaging. There were also still some slip ups, forgotten items and requests and there was still a gap of time between check-ins That being said, again, much better than the last visits The food was wonderful and the heated patio was beautiful. We will be back again and hope the momentum of rectifying issues continues. Happy to change my review to something more positive Food options are limited, its really a seafood based earls. Service is often slow and orders have been wrong multiple visits. The view is amazing, but not our go to local place
Fantastic meal with incredible plating & flavours. It was excellent service but I was having trouble hearing the staff because the room was too noisy. Our table was quite breezy because of being sat beside a doorway, so if you are prone to being chilly keep your coat.
Its mediocre and not amazing.
One of favorite in west Vancouver, atmospheric place
I had the only Branzino that was as good as I had in Rome. I was absolutely delighted. I will order it every time. The vegetables with it were great as well.
Great cozy place over looking the pacific ocean in West Vancouver Service is amazing but for some reason my order is always screwed up n its a simple thing..
Excellent location with captivating scenery, and they offer a patio in the summer. They exude a strong West Coast vibe. Ordered two dishes, the beef carpaccio and the hamachi crudo; both were rich in flavor and really good.
The service was horrible. I don t normally post negative reviews. But both my partner and myself got mild intestinal distress from the food. I can not express just how bad the service was! It was insultingly bad. It took over an hour and a half for our entrées. It took like 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. I am so disappointed. Dietary restrictions: I informed the waiter about my allergy. I have no idea if he even heard me.
Great food in a lovely setting. Parking: Parking along street and in lot along train tracks to the left. Food : 5/5 |
No more veggie options, like one bland burger only
I dont think most of the people giving this place 5 stars know much about food. I will say, the staff and service were great. The cook on the food, perfect in every way... But the food is just dying for any kind of flavour. I had a fish that had 5 drops of truffle butter on the whole piece and that was it. The roast potatoes on the side, zero seasoning. Toss them in some salt and pepper at least. The greens, equally left alone. My partner said the same thing, all the sauces were delicious, there were practically none of it on the plate. I go here at least twice a year because I live close by and visitors want to see a local place. They love it because its on the beach, but I would not eat here otherwise. Sorry. At about $100 per person, you could season your food properly. Salt isnt expensive.
Amazing service made the longer wait for the food worth it. If Im ever back to this area of Canada I will be back for sure.
We came across the Beach House on a recent visit to Vancouver. This spot is a MUST for anyone visiting the area. A most unique multi tier patio space right on the water. The food was fantastic and our server Paul is the BEST. All the staff were incredibly hospitable and made the entire experience unforgettable. We will definitely return next time we are in the area and will request Paul! Lisa and Will Andrade.
We had a lovely lunch overlooking the water. Our waiter, Paul, was incredibly friendly. The crab & shrimp salad and chicken sandwich were both delicious. We went for brunch and walked right in, but apparently it gets very busy at night.
Another wonderful experience dining here on Mother s Day. Every meal was super delicious and aesthetically arranged. The view is also gorgeously unbeatable.
Can t wait to go back in the summer! Second time here and no food was left untouched. Everything was delicious.
Food is adequate. But not for the price . Staff is friendly and accommodating. There is just a pretentious atmosphere here. It s a nice setting but I can also walk to the beach and get that.
A bit pricey, great otherwise. Seems to be very popular and busy
Great place, great location, great view! I ordered the spaghettini scallop and prawns, really tasty, but feel like I got cheated on the scallops and prawns.... 1.33 scallops, and the prawns looked like shrimp to me. You be the judge. Shouldnt walk out of a great restaurant wondering if I was cheated or not.
The halibut special was amazing. Though difficult to achieve, for dessert, the coconut chiffon was even better. The staff was excellent while dealing with food allergies and while prompt with service, there was absolutely no rush.
Matty and I came by for brunch, he was sick and lost weight so a good brunch was in order. This is a Strawberry Mexican Margarita, smoked salmon rösti and chicken wings
We were having a small celebration lunch, with two different versions of delicious halibut, at the enclosed, outside patio with as good a view of Burrard Inlet as you can find, and wanted to linger over a fabulous bottle of half priced Wednesday wine. Could they rustle up a plate of cheese? They found half a dozen options, and the 3 ounces we chose came with grapes and artisanal crackers. But wait, thats not all. When it came time to pay we were informed the cheese plate was on the house. What a gem of a local institution.
Very tasty food and polite staff. I recommend trying the grilled salmon and crab cake 11/10
Recommend! Food and drinks: Really nice food! Location : 5/5 Hotel highlights
Everything was amazingggg, I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful for anytime of day! Views of the bay perfect. Above average foor and service.
Our second dining experience was satisfying! Thanks to the staff and Jose!
We walked in for a Sunday dinner. It was happy hour until 5pm so ordered the beach house cali roll and beef carpaccio to start with. The cali roll was excellent. But the beef was ok. For mains , we went with catch of the day which was halibut and added on a lobster tail with it. Halibut was pan seared. It was ok. It was pricey. Lobster tail was very delicious. For our dessert we went with chocolate cake and vanilla gelato. It was extraordinary. We loved it. Overall it s pricey. Service is very slow. So if you are hungry just order in the starters and mains at once. Our waiter was very knowledgeable. He explained all the dishes we ordered in detail. So a shoutout to him. Sorry I forgot his name Parking: They have limited spots next to the restaurant. But the street has a parallel parking o one side.
Fantastic and romantic place to go if you are looking for a spacious, romantic and great quality food restaurant. Located right beside Dundarave Beach Park, the view is just speechless and amazing. Especially when you go during spring season, the fresh cool sea wind and warm sunlight makes everything enlightened. They have great menu for happy hour. The fresh oysters, steak frites and biscuit and honeycomb are my top picks. We also ordered two cocktails, to make it for the day. The Beef and Turf dinner meal amused me with large portions and very fresh and large lobster tail. I would highly suggest this restaurant and itll be on my list for next time.
I was marginally optimistic at my servers excitement that the menu had been updated here having always struggled to find anything to eat on their menu that is vegetarian . If you are vegetarian then I m sorry to say it continues to disappoint server did offer to ask kitchen to make a cream garlic vegetable pasta what actually arrived was a cold sauceless dry pasta with huge pieces of cold mushroom on the side ???? It was inedible at best. If you are content with average and uninspiring food in a stunning location then I can recommend .. as a local I ve given this place way too many chances .for me its no longer worth the view.I m out .try Fred s in Ambleside amazing food and atmosphere it s one of the few worthy spots to frequent in West Van s limited offerings. Oh yes and the server was super annoying and obtrusive the one time throughout the service she wasn t hovering and constantly interuppting the flow of a business meeting was when she was actually needed to tell her that she d bought a cold inedible pasta dish - genius !!!
Definitely better than before! Made huge progress! But the honeycomb was too little it barely existed you can charge higher price for a more generous portion or your guest will have a hard time finding their honeycomb when served.
Stunning views, great muscles and awesome staff
Food was amazing! Matthew was excellent, he had great recommendations and was super friendly and engaging!
This afternoon I came in during the happy hour and the waiter handed us the happy hour menu. When we decided what we wanted to order, Mat told us that we were past our happy hour and took back the menu. I was very confused and disappointed. If the happy hour was about to end, they shouldnt have given us the menu in the first place. We felt very disrespected by the way we were treated. I hope the restaurant can improve this service.
Today service was bad and food had no taste. No salt
Here s what you ll get for a $50 takeout order of two sandwiches! 1 tiny piece of chicken with no more than a sliver of bacon and for two entrees that come with fries you get cold fries slammed into the same container Got a message saying order was ready but ended up having to wait for the order which is fine, but the waiting area is in the kitchen??? It s never fun leaving a negative review for a local restaurant, but is supposed to be a high end place and was far from it with what we experienced today. Update: Got a refund on the order and appreciate them wanting to make it right. Hopefully they can improve on their take out quality for the next customer!
First time back to a favorite place in along time and it did not fail to deliver! Food was spectacular! Fresh, amazing quality and hot! The service was fantastic. Matt really made our night! And the view, crazy amazing as always! Cant wait to return.
Great restaurant. Highly recommend
