The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Park Royal in West Vancouver

We had the pleasure of being served by Maddy during our 5-year anniversary celebration, and she was absolutely amazing! Maddy was so attentive, friendly, and made us feel incredibly special throughout our meal. To top it off, Chef Shab came out with bubbly to help us celebrate our milestone, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. The experience was unforgettable, and we ll definitely be coming back. Thank you to Maddy and the whole team for making our expirence a memorable one!

First of all, the experience was meh. The host staff were a bit rude and condescending, and the waiter didn t have the exact patience. I asked for no onions on my sandwich since my body can t process them, and without acknowledging it she walked away to put in the order. When I got the sandwich it was FULL of onions in it, and when I tried to send it back I never saw our waiter till half an hour later.

Unfortunately after quite a few wonderful experiences at this location we have decided to stop coming. We have celebratef everything from birthdays to weddings and just random Tuesdays and enjoyed every experience. Today was our last attempt. The food has become meh, its really hit and miss and has definitely become more miss Today out server was beyond inattentive. We waited for over 20 min before a drink order was taken, or we were greeted for that matter. We sat for about an hour and a half with our appies and not re-filled drinks and were never once in that time asked if we were going to be ordering mains, to be clear, yes we were, until about an hour of waiting and decided to have dinner somewhere else. It took 25 more minutes to get the bill while watching our server chat with the bar staff and polish wine glasses. Bottom line we wont be back. There arent a lot of options in West van, but this shouldnt be one at the top of your list.

The dishes were extremely disappointing in taste, with no freshness at all. The beef was so tough that it was almost inedible. The desserts were overly sweet and clearly not freshly made. The staff were cold and indifferent, paying no attention to customers needs. On top of that, it took nearly 40 minutes for the first dish to arrive, which shows extremely poor efficiency.

We did a large birthday party and the staff was beyond helpful. They did everything so well with great food and service! Amazing would give a 6 out of 5 stars!

I took my mom for dinner at the keg. Spent close to $200 Canadian. I attempted to order the fish and chips for my mom since she really enjoyed it the past couple of times we went. The server was very argumentative and rather than just simply telling me, sorry we no longer carry fish and chips at this location. She pushed the issue and talk down to me as if I dont know what Im talking about. I had to tell her I dont want to talk about this anymore. She finally got it and stopped. Instead. I ordered the blackened chicken for my mom. It was tough and dry very overcooked. I ordered the crabcakes appetizer. I found that there was very little crab in the crabcakes. Not very flavorful. I also ordered the steak and lobster. The steak was overcooked and a little small for an 8 ounce. I ordered medium. It was well done. The lobster was a very small portion, but it was cooked just right. No flavour in the mashed potatoes. Wheelchair accessibility: my mother is on a wheelchair and we were able to access the restaurant in her wheelchair

Almost the best burger in the city. Great value and super delicious. When hungry this is my go to burger place. On my burger scale this is a solid 9 out of 10.

We ordered 4 dishes but no bread and butter offered, not sure was it due to two dishes were under happy hour menu... Tata was good but burger was just fair (cactus clubs better)

Every time I go to this Keg I m disappointed. I ordered a mixed green salad with steak. The steak was great, but I literally got a cup of lettuce and paid $14. for the salad. When I mentioned this, I was told they put it on smaller plates now???? Every time there is something, and I m not one to complain, but I have to say something now. Also, the place smells bad. They need to shut this location down.

Wow , what a great place. The food is just delicious here. The service is even better. We had Scott last night for our waiter and he was so attentive, great conversationalist and just treated us in the most kind way . We were celebrating our anniversary and so he gave us our privacy, but kept coming back to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this location the staff here at top-notch!

Service was excellent. The peppercorn was a bit spicy but the prime rib was divine. The Milner pie was to die for! Would definitely return again!

I always come to this location and every time when I leave the place I am so happy that I choose this restaurant for treating myself and my family. The staff are very friendly, the managers are very respectful and the food is alwayes good and same quality. Tonight I only asked the server if he thinks that my steak is medium rare( how I ordered and wanted to be) his manager heard me and changed my steak to the perfect medium rare in just 5 minutes. Im very happy with this place and will eat here more often.

The worst experience of any keg I have experienced. After telling the manager this and saying this he seemed so indefirent. very dissapointing time at this keg. Especially when I have known a different side. Food : 1/5

What happened to the Keg? It was a bit surprising how bad it was. The good: Shrimp cocktail was pretty great. The bad: The French onion soup was scolding hot and was far too thick and bready. Although our waiter was attentive he was clearly out of his depth with his assigned tables and forgot our regular butter with our bread but subbed it for some horrible smelling cheese butter without asking us? Then he forgot our red wine steak sauce for the steak which came 1/2 through us eating. All our veggies were well overcooked. Carrots were shriveled. Broccolini was luke warm at best and clearly cooked way earlier in the day and with way too much lemon. Our cauliflower mash had zero seasoning. Steak was cooked correctly to temp but lacked some a lot of seasoning. The Keg is going to have to seriously improve on all aspects for a local customer to want to return. We can get a much better meal at a number of restaurants close by. We live 5 minutes away and wont be back.

I have been to keg park royal more than 40 times in the pas years. But I have recently noticed the quality is getting worse whenever I come back. I usually always order the rib steak. On past couple of visits the steak wasn t cooked medium rare which I asked for and besides that the quality of ribeye was veryyyyy low. It felt like a very old meat and not fresh and juicy at all. Hopefully keg can bring up their quality again

Our last visit to the Keg, the music wasnt appropriate for the venue, not only was it too loud but it was jarring on the nerves.

I m a keg person, was visiting from Toronto and was invited there. The worst stake ever, food quality couldn t even beat the very average eatery. Very disappointed and never ever will come back here. Shame

The best meals we had on our trip! 2 meals, 5 drinks, bread 145$! Cant beat the price and the service was chefs kiss. Vegetarian options: Several vegan friendly options. Dietary restrictions: Tells gf meals and asked about allergies. Parking: Its in the mall. So free parking

Ive had a lot of bad Keg experience the last couple time I went but this place was actually decent. Finally a place not so dark you can actually look around the room. The Keg has lost its candle light butter, and then lost its crab and lost its sour dough bread to reg bread. The one thing that still holds true is the mushroom Neptune and the billy miner cake! Once those go, theyve lost me forever. Will be back for the happy hour!

My husband and I Celebrated our rehearsal dinner at the Keg the night before our wedding. Bridesmaids, groomsmen friends and family. We were well looked after and fed Wonderful food.

Got a delicious steak, and twice baked potato, perfectly cooked medium rare and tasted amazing.

The Keg in N Van was fantastic! Service was spot on - the staff made our anniversary that much more special. Food was great and we look forward to another visit. Dietary restrictions: My wife was able to enjoy some gluten free options.

I usually dont write bad reviews on restaurants but this was not a good experience at this location! I made a reservation yesterday and noted that we were celebrating my moms birthday. I clicked on the birthday option. We got there, we were seated everything was going fine until we were ordering our appetizers to share - they sold out of the crispy cauliflower, three pepper wings, and mashed potatoes! The ones we wanted to order. Disappointing! My aunt was still drinking her mocktail with some still left in the cup, the server just took it without asking if she was done with it before she could say anything. But the most embarrassing part was that the server didnt even acknowledge that it was a special occasion, why we went there! To celebrate my moms birthday! And mind you at the downtown location, they offered a complimentary pie dessert for my aunts birthday when we went to that one last month. I thought the staff would be informed that it was a special occasion and at least offer it since they did that at the downtown location. Very embarrassing! There was 4 of us and we spent alot of money, and we payed the server the full tip! Just a disappointing experience at this location and probably will not be back!

We have a 745pm reservation. Entree is still not here at 9pm. Record time! We had appetizer earlier, a lot earlier.

Prime rib was prime (rib). Mashed potato s were mashed (to perfection). Gin basil lemonade was bde (big drink energy). Server served (slay).

Last time wasnt good at all

I usually don t complain bit I feel this is very important to point out to continue further visits . This has absolutely been my favourite restaurant for years for a great meal and good atmosphere .but I have been there lately one time being mother s day and I am very disappointed in the cleanliness of the tables .the salt and pepper and condiments were disgusting full of left over food residue .table was dirty and chairs were so bad tjat my granddaughter was very upset and didn t want to sit on them making dinner very stressful. We ordered steak that was usually great but had to be sent back as it was so tuff couldn t be chewed. If this was just a one time incidence I could maybe understand bad day, but my daughter also went back on another occasion and the table condiments and chairs were terrible again. Like I said previously this was always my go to for a great meal and atmosphere but not sure if I will return due to these past incidences sincerely hope things will change!

There was an awful smell in the elevator like dead animal, kind of put you off. The food was terrible, and way ovet priced. The prime rib was the fattiest piece I ever had it went to my dogs. I would never go there or recommend it to anyone.

2024 update Review Despite several past disappointments at this West Vancouver location, we decided to give it another chance, especially since it was my fiancées birthday. Regrettably, our experience only reinforced our previous negative encounters. Upon entering, we were met with an unpleasant odor of sewage, prompting us to inform the staff. However, their dismissive reaction, coupled with laughter and a nonchalant inquiry about our seating preference, immediately raised concerns. Once seated, our wait for service was agonizingly long. It took our waitress a full 10 minutes to even take our drink order, and another 10 minutes to deliver them. To make matters worse, we were relegated to the smallest table. Throughout the evening, our waitress seemed woefully inexperienced and lacked basic service etiquette. She frequently avoided our table, leaving us waiting for extended periods just to place our orders. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointingly lukewarm, bordering on cold. My filet mignon, purportedly a signature dish, lacked flavor and tasted stale. Overall, the entire dining experience fell far short of expectations. Whether its a management issue or staffing problems, this location has clearly declined in quality. For those seeking a reliably enjoyable meal, I would strongly recommend exploring other Keg locations, such as our newfound favorite in Yale Town.We came here for our anniversary. I would say the service we got was 5 stars, they were nice enough to give us a free dessert (we were very grateful). The food 4 stars as appetizers were delicious the ribs on point. I was just disappointed in the quality of the steak as it was a filet mignon suppose to be top notch. They did good though, in my eyes they are more the fast food industry for steak. Definitely would go back just not paying for that steak again save my money for more drinks lol!

Went to the Keg park royal for dinner on Mother s Day with my son. The food was great, I love the consistency of the food, got to love that warm bread! Never disappoints.

Keg restaurant has a great and pleasant environment, extremely delicious and quality food, excellent and admirable service, polite and very kind staff. If you want great food with an attractive and stylish environment, I suggest Keg restaurant, West Vancouver branch in Royal Park.

We had a disappointing experience. The service was so slow and the first server was not even available and we had to look for him every time. Worst thing was when a mouse just passed under our table and when we informed the manager he said that we are aware but don t afraid they are so small Will never step a foot in any of the KEG branches anywhere.

First time Ive been to a KEG restaurant, and may be the last time I will step foot in one as well. Food and drinks were great, as was the fast service, but unfortunately we lost our appetites from the multiple mice running around the tables, and our feet. We were informed that the managers knew about the problem, and were told they are Trying to fix it, and that We are a restaurant in a mall. After looking at the VCH inspection reports, we noticed this has been an ongoing problem here for years. I am shocked by the managements response, and lack of care for the sanitary conditions of what is suppose to be a higher end dining chain. As having worked in a few restaurants before, I would have expected something more than an Im sorry from the staff. I dont usually post reviews, but I feel like this had to be said by someone, and hopefully it gets read before deciding to dine here. Thanks

I feel in love with their steaks from the first try in new years 2024, and since then we ve been celebrating other occasions in Keg, different locations. In this one we were twice and both times everything was excellent. Every bite of the steak is delicious! I celebrated my birthday and they gave me free ice cream cheesecake dessert, it was one of the best desserts I ve ever had would like to go there now for steak and that dessert!

Unfortunately the restaurant specially the lobby and the entrance smelled like sewage. They had put quite a few odour eliminators in the elevator but still the sewage smell was quite dominant. That s quite shameful and unacceptable for such a restaurant! The food was also way below average. Don t recommend at all!

Thief I only went to that restaurant ONCE at Park Royal for a coffee disgusting I didn t even drink it. TODAY I was look it my insights on my bank app to find out I ve been charged 96$ that evening. I was seating at the bar but wherever be really careful don t trust them or any keg

Food was excellent. The steaks were perfect, the tables could have been a bit more spread out in the main area to be a bit more private but all in all was a good experience.

We called and put our name in ahead. We arrived and got a table immediately. Our waiter was friendly and got our drinks immediately and took our order. Our son got his bread and husband his salad very quickly..then we sat and sat..the tables all emptied..I never got another soft drink afterward..the waiter took my glass and never returned with another. Finally after about 40 mins of sitting, We got our mains. it took another while to order our desserts but he brought that very quickly along with the bill. We did leave a decent tip despite the inconsistent service because we did get good service at the start. Just to add my cauliflower bites were warm, not hot. It took so long to get our food I just didnt want to risk more time, etc, or bring down our dinner mood. We would return and hopefully get better service .

One of our favourite repeat restaurants for the food quality (and quantity) ambiance and service! You get what you pay for. As a family we always look forward to going back :)

Always a treat, tried the Chicago style steak.

Visited back in June. Melt in the mouth steak, and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. Loved the warm bread too. Excellent service from a really friendly waiter.

Had a beautiful dinning experience. the food was on point, NY steak cooked to perfection wish they had bourbon butter. Was delighted to have Brian as our server, really enthusiastic, knowledgable and scores a 1000/1000 on customer service. Only a professional knows to match eye level while taking order requests, frequent check-ins etc.

Tried to go here for dinner for our Anniversary with our children but they couldn t seat us, restaurant was empty. We were there early . Terrible service.They weren t even able to do two tables of 4????? The whole restaurant isn t reservations ..pretty disappointed. They didn t even offer an alternate time.

Probably the best value for money choice for having prime rib in town. Well known for exceptionally good service. The place is not too packed so a good vibe for an enjoyable dinner with the family.

Used to visit more often, but recently did not do so for a while until last night, which prompted the review. Service was as good as always, and food came quick. The food was a bit disappointing for the price, and is what prompted this review. Although I teeter between a 3 or 4 here, might change it if we go back and things go better. The complimentary bread and butter were great. The calamari was wonderful. The steaks were well cooked, though somewhat poorly trimmed, which was not great for the price being asked. Also they came with a side of green beans and beets(in addition to the accompaniment), which were mentioned nowhere on the menu. I dislike beets, but I ate them anyway despite my distaste because I hate wasting food and that soured me a bit. The mushroom rice accompaniment was overly salty, by quite a bit, which was a bummer, since I remember loving the rice they had in the past which it replaced. Finally for desert we had a billy miner pie, which was quite good, but the menu said it contained fudge, which was a bit misleading, it was just a fudge/chocolate sauce drizzled overtop. Overall, high points and low points, but far too many low points for the price.

Service was really great, order was taken incorrectly but they were able to fix and smooth it over with ease, went for an anniversary and got dessert for free. Splitting the baseball sirloin was done prior to it arriving at the table, which was really convenient. Restaurant ambience was great, noise levels weren t too high even though it was a full house.

We have enjoyed a number of family gatherings here. Service is always great and the food is delicious.

Dont get me wrong The food here is great. In general Kegs lobster and steak has a great quality. The main issue with this specific branch is that you will not get the same service you will get in other KEG branches. Maybe because they are understaffed, their tables are set to wide apart or some other reason Im not aware of. There have been cases that we were looking for a waiter for over 15 minutes. This becomes very apparent when the resturant is busy. A few of the staff were rude to me to the point that I was planning to leave the restaurant. Luckily a manager stepped in and saved the night and hes the only reason that Im not giving 1 stars. In general KEG is a little bit more expensive than the other restuarants and if your expectation is to get a level of service your moneys worth, you probably are better off with the downtown branches of KEG.

My partner and I decided to give The Keg a try last evening after receiving a gift card. Our server, Farnaz, was almost nonexistent, and the tables around us were ordered and served long before we were. Food was placed at the side of the table without acknowledgment, and we were not checked in on, even for 10 minutes after we had finished eating. Very disappointing experience, unfortunately won t be returning.

It was my daughters 14th birthday and it was fantastic, the food was top notch we had the steak and lobster and they brought out a massive piece of chocolate cake. The service was impeccable and they have us a semi private table. The decor is black, upscale and beautiful. We come here for special occasions because its always solid. Great work thank you!

Place it mint! I went here first time alone and was so nice. The patio is great as well!

Was at the keg. Service was a little slow. Took a while to get drinks. Food took a while too nachos were overcooked. Chips were just crumbling. Cheese was hard. Told the server. She offered us a free desert. But we were full from all the other food. My friend had a burger. That was fine. Cheese toast and prime rib sliders were fine. Just the nachos were bad. We only ate half. If not for the nachos review would be better. Ive had their nachos many times and this was just the worst. Was hoping they would at least take them nachos off. guess I wont be going back for a while.

Was at this location last Friday, poor experience, steak was not cooked well, service was extremely slow. There are far better Keg locations throughout Vancouver.

We always choose the Keg over the Earls/Cactus Club brands because even though it s a bit more expensive, the quality and service is infinitely better. Also their happy hour menu is a great value with a wide range of drink and food options.

Excellent experience. Took my special daughter for her first Keg visit ever in west van! Our server Scott was so kind answering all our questions and paying attention to the details that made it a truly great KEG evening!

I had tried the Keg before , not happy with it,my friend suggested that I should try the Park Royal Keg ! They kept us waiting for 30 minutes , and nobody even came to take our order , so we asked someone to come. The server were so friendly, took our order and helped us through choosing what we want. We ordered filet mignon and a sirloin steak. They were very salty! Very! Exactly like my first experience in the other branch. The appetizers on the other hand , were great! Im mean GrEAt!!! The Mushrooms Neptune!!! It was like heaven!! Recommended The bread and the creamy appetizer that the Keg serves in the beginning of your arrival is great as well!

seated near noisy kitchen/bathroom even with reservation 24 hrs before server asked if we wanted bread n butter server asked for tip when guest is paying by gift card $32 chicken was small n rubbery (guessed its cooked in an air fryer) but leaked juices and yet overly moist. very small amount of veggies (few pieces). left hungry. stomach upset since 745pm (four hours later) Previous visit same order: server added tip to both gift card and to cc machine (split payment by guest bc gift card wont cover full bill so rest was paid by cc) Vegetarian options: side: mushroom rice or cauli hash. main: veggie meatloaf Parking: found parking across street

I hate to leave this review. However the last two times my wife and I went for dinner here, we have been let down. The food was just ok not to the historical Keg standard. The atmosphere was terrible extremely dirty each time we visited. Left over food on the seats, on the table and floor. The water glasses were dirt with food floating in them. We had to send it back.Cant say I want to come back. I can say the service was decent. I hope they improve this Keg and bring it back to the standard.

#steakdinner nothing fancy mediocre service fair taste definately had better #overrated franchise but good vibe atmosphere. prices average but again I know there are much yummiest steakhouse for said price.

My favorite restaurant

Perfect food. The steaks are the best I have ever had so far, with cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. It is a must try if you come to west Vancouver. Will definitely come back.

Best keg dinner Ive had in awhile

Delicious and tasty food, excillent service, warm atmosphere. The server helped us to choose food . He answered all our questions. He was knowledgeable about the meanue. We ordered fillet steak, new Bronsvek frrsh lobster & steak . I ordred Filet stake with garden salad . The steak was very tender. For apetizer we ordered shrimp . We didnt order drink . For 4 people after tip it was $320.The portion is big. They serve the most delicious stake ever. The wait time for food was 20 minutes. The good point about the keg is their hot plates. The food serves on the table in a very hot plates. Parking: Free parking , easy to find a space.

Food was great, drinks were amazing. Our server Emily really made out night so very special as she went above and beyond. She was super intentive and was very helpful with the menu and drink suggestions. Thank you Emily!

We went for a birthday dinner. The waiter, Brian was awesome. He was very attentive to us. The food was cooked perfect and the wine was great. It was a wonderful evening out celebrating.

Could not eat the prime rib. Wife could not eat her steak. Way oversalted. Did get credit on both mains. Did not replace as people we were with ate theirs . Did not want to eat seperate meals. Left hungry.

Last night Sept 27 2023 my wife ordered prime rib and she said I qoute her words.... This is the best prime rib ever and it was cooked just perfect.... and she ordered it often at different locations..

My first experience here was pretty lousy, they had a ventilation issue. Second time has been really good, I ended up having the prime rib. Turned out great! And of course you have an option to go keg size if you have a stomach for it!

My friend and I had an excellent evening on Saturday. The manager on duty was Martin Duckworth, he assisted us with a miscellaneous, issue. He was very prompt and professional. A great experience all round for us.

I can t thank you enough for making my day so special. Food, staff and place was just perfect. The lady at the main door had a beautiful soft smile and staff on the floor were so professional. I can t wait for more occasions to celebrate in your restaurant again . Much much love and respect Sam

The food was awesome and the service was great. I ordered the terryaki sirloin cooked medium rare with twice baked potato and it tasted great. I also ordered a Billy Miner Mud pie. It was great

This is a great Keg. Had a 12oz NY strip last night and it was cooked perfection! Well done will be back soon!

There s plenty of space with a great atmosphere, but their service isn t really good. It takes around 30 minutes or more between each meal, which is quite slow. Even though it was a Saturday, it wasn t busy at all, and their service was exceptionally slow. This was our second visit. I love their salmon and pistachio dish because I don t eat steak. This time, we tried the vegetarian meatloaf, which was okay, but I won t be ordering it again. On the other hand, their roast beef sandwich was really good.

Excellent service by Arielle! Kind, smart and pleasant to interact with. We loved the extra attention our daughter received for her birthday!

Steaks were not cooked properly. I used to cook at the Keg years ago and know how they should be served. Rest of the experience was very good.

This is one of my favorite Kegs! Service is usually okay but drinks & food are always great.

Nov 30 at 6 pm my friend and I went for the first time to this location after shopping, unfortunately from the beginning we felt looked down and once we were placed in our seats the server came and for the first time ever at theKeg I had someone with not only a demeanour but also bad attitude. She was dressed all black so I asume she was rather a host than a server, the whole time she did less than the bare minimum with a large face and rolling eyes. From the beginning she didn t bother to explain the menu or even ask us if we ve been here before so I had to do it for my friend... By the time she removed our salad bowls I reminded her I was still waiting on my black & blue drink to which she replied oh yeah, actually i had to go downstairs twice to get your syrup. It was tiring. And rolled her eyes. Once our steaks came we were left with no cutlery and by the time I turned to look for her she was chatting by the bar (we were sat by the lounge area). After seeing that my friend got frustrated and called a server passing by dressed in white uniform to which he happily responded not only brought the cutlery but also checked on us. At the same time the girl in black brought my drink pushing the other server before we can finish thanking him. After that her attitude changed a bit but being honest the next step was the bill so not much left to do. The steak unfortunately wasn t as good as I ve experienced in the past locations visited and everything was WAY too salty. This was a minor inconvenience but after that service it was a really disappointing experience for such pretty location. The only reason I tipped was because of the kind male server who helped us and kitchen. I hate doing a bad review but after a week it s still bothering me :(

Waited at least 30min for our meals while our server (Brian) spent his time basically sucking off some old couple and talking about the film industry . It had been over an hour since we had been seated and we had theatre show to get to so we had to get our meals wrapped to go. We didn t even have time to eat them and they sat in our car for 3 hours, thank god for the bread. The other ppl in Brians section were not happy about having to listen to their conversation while being ignored either. Do better Brian!!

Went to Washington for a work trip and decided to go to Canada for a few hours. Had to find a steakhouse since the company was paying for dinner. Picked The Keg based on other reviews and was absolutely thrilled with the choice. Food was excellent and prices were very reasonable, if not almost too cheap. I highly recommend coming here for an outstanding dinner at a good price.
