Way to crowded, food had better over at the catus club. The only thing good was the service. The prices arent worth it.

Good food, lousy service. Weve been going there every couple of weeks for a while now, but last Saturday (yes I acknowledge that it was busy) we had to wait forever to get the waiters attention. We would have liked to order more but Im not waiting close to half an hour to even be asked. Weve been served by this guy before. Well go back eventually but I decline to sit in his section again.

A great group of friends made a reservation on Monday for a group of 10 for Saturday at 6:00 pm. When we arrived the seats were wanted we re ready for us and we got some great food and drinks and watched the Canucks game and had a Merry Christmas party to remember. Great spot and great team!

Beautiful place good food cant complain

Vancouver craft beer tour, part 2! Located in North Vancouvers beautiful shopping area, this restaurant doubles as a sports bar with elegantly arranged seating. Happy hour is from 14:00 to 17:00 every day. Lager is $5. I didnt order food and just had beer, but I was surprised at how delicious it was! The bitterness that comes after the freshness is the best feeling, and I knew it was delicious from the first bite!

Freshly prepared food and wonderful service!! The atmosphere was like an upscale sports bar.

Update: another great visit We had a wonderful time at the Taphouse this Tuesday November 26th and as always the service, the food and the company was perfect. Dylan, our server, was outstanding and made the visit even more special for the five of us old timers! Thanks Dylan. We will of course be back again and again!! Village Taphouse never disappoints! We have been here for lunch several times with our ladies group and have never had a bad meal. Service is always very friendly and on point. A few of us tried the Sierra Salad this time and it was sooo good. Thanks once again for a welcoming, comfortable venue for us to have our get togethers!

The food was absolutely fantastic! Service was amazing! There was a football game on so it was a bit loud... but the whole experience was incredible!

This restaurant was once my top choice for every occasion, and we visited nearly weekly. However, over time, I ve noticed a troubling decline in service, with several recent reviews echoing my concerns particularly regarding unprofessional and discourteous behavior from the staff. While I can t say for certain, I ve sometimes wondered if this poor treatment was related to our appearance or accent, or if certain guests are intentionally seated in less desirable areas, despite plenty of open space in more central parts of the restaurant. These issues ultimately led to our decision to stop visiting the Village Taphouse. Tonight, I gave it another chance, hoping for an improved experience. Unfortunately, the service was once again disappointing, with the servers dismissive attitude leaving us feeling unwelcome. Despite ample seating in a more central area, we were directed to a far corner, which felt both frustrating and uninviting. On a positive note, the food and drinks remain excellent and are well worth the visit earning a solid 5-star rating. However, the service needs significant improvement. I urge management to focus on staff training to elevate the customer experience. It s unfortunate to see a place I once loved fall short, but with attention to service, I remain hopeful it can return to its former standard.

We enjoyed the food here, we ordered the potato skins as a starter, the bolo along with the noodle bowl for the main course and the brownie for dessert, all were nice with rich flavours. The brownie might just be a bit too sweet for some people, but still quite enjoyable with the vanilla ice cream. This is a shame because the service was not satisfactory at all, our server barely visited our table all night, we never got our water refilled, and had to call someone for each detail because no one checked in. She just kept looking over with the card reader in her hands waiting for us to leave. The started arrived with the food even though we specifically asked for it to be brought in separately. So by the time we had finished the starter, our main course had gotten cold. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the food and the vibe, but the service was really disappointing.

The food here was delicious! We had the Backyard Bacon Cheeseburger and the Santorini Salad. Great service and overall experience.

Just finished up at the taphouse with three other friends. Excellent service and experience. Really appreciate the manager Jeremy coming out to introduce himself and make sure that everything went smoothly. Highly recommend!

We celebrate our friend birthday there last night which was a complete disaster, Food and drinks were ok but took so long to have them on the table, Our server Dylan was so rude and impolite and didn t know customer service at all, Unfortunately although we were not satisfied with the service we d charged 20% tips because we were 8, I don t recommend this place to anyone.

I typically give this restaurant 5 stars because I truly enjoy the food and drinks, but my experience yesterday was unfortunately disappointing. I ordered a mojito, and after stirring it a few times and taking a couple of sips, I found a mashed-up Starburst candy wrapper in my drink. It was incredibly unsettling to realize I had someone elses trash in my beverage. My mind immediately spiraled, wondering whether the wrapper had been in someones mouth or worse, had come from the trash or floor. I was grossed out, to say the least. While they offered to take the drink off the bill which was the right thing to do I was shocked by how the situation was handled overall. Unfortunately, I didn t take a photo before they removed the drink. This wasnt the first issue Ive had here either. On a previous visit, my husband found a piece of sharp plastic in the seafood chowder that came with his meal. I m not saying to avoid this place, but I do recommend checking your food and drinks carefully before consuming anything, as I left feeling pretty disgusted.

Came out to Vancouver for the first time and this was our first stop for food and drinks. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and good service. Will have to say service went downhill as it got a bit busier where we started getting waited on by a different waiter. We will return.

Tasty food but quite loud and a little pricey

Staff were great but the chicken burger I had was nasty. I think it had been soaking in fryer oil. Sorry folks, I very rarely leave bad reviews but I thought you should know. It was my wifes birthday so I didnt want to say anything about it at the time.

Great HH! French fries were nice and hot and I appreciated that they had apple cider on the HH menu which you dont see often. Will be back!

I had a decent pizza for dinner. I ordered a round of drinks. I accidentally spilled my drink on myself. When I told my waiter she didn t bring napkins and only offered a sorry that happened. I had to wait another 15 minutes in wet clothing while I waited to pay the bill. There seemed to be a bar meeting going on and our server was distracted by the group of employees. I m extremely disappointed in the service I received and could not recommend this restaurant to another human.

A great place to share some time and a few laughs with my family.

Good place for an afternoon beer and bite. 4 star on food as the portions are not exactly large for what you pay. Overall the place is a nice sports bar setting, great drinks on tap and good cocktails.

Everything at the tap house is great. However the fact that they keep getting rid of the sticky toffee pudding is enough to completely ruin the experience for me. Everything else there is good or average, the sticky toffee pudding however is the greatest thing I ve ever tasted and taking it away should be a sin.

We came in for a late lunch. I ordered a half order of nachos. The tortilla chips were gross. They don t taste like anything. Not corn, felt like I was eating paper & no salt either. The cheese didn t taste like real cheese either. I questioned the server & she went to the back to find out & came back with the info that it was Dairyland cheese. It must have been a very low quality or grade of cheese. Also, black beans were on these nachos for what reason I don t know filler I guess, not good. Not tasty. Just offering the Bare minimum of a nacho appearing product The server was very nice about managing our concerns. But with the prices we are paying to eat out these days. I want to enjoy good food & not have to think of complaining. I feel that this pub is trying to get away with offering the lowest quality of food possible while charging as much as possible. And of course at the end let s ask the customers for an 18% after tax tip. For what? I am not sure how these places are licensed as far as having little kids in pubs. But a large family was nearby with a screaming toddler. He was screaming for most of our time in the pub. It is a pub right? Do adults not enjoy the right to eat out in peace on a weekend. Why are screaming toddlers allowed in pubs? I don t understand.,

This was a great overall experience. Our server by the name of Archie was phenomenal. He was quick, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The food he recommended was amazing. I would recommend this spot and specifically ask for Archie every time I m here. 5/5.

Get the Minimacks, add some bacon - savour every bite. Or just order a fourth. Seriously. Monday night, two exhausted parents pushing around a 4m old in a stroller. We find this place to venture into. Child friendly. Score. For a Monday night, there s a couple tables just absolutely enjoying themselves. Vibe is great. Our babe slept the entirety of it. Our food. Literally the first time in my four day trip to Van that I looked at my husband and said that was great, and I m full. We grabbed the minimacks, sweet potatoes fries and a Notorious pizza and left our plates cleaned off. Great find for some overtired parents needing a drink and some grub. We cane during happy hour. The drinks and food was great. The waitstaff was also excellent. Victorta explained the menu in detail and offering multiple options. On top of all of that, the music played was ezcellent! This was our first trip to Canada and the R&B music was a welcomed surprise. I fully recommend, great atmosphere and food!

Went here on vacation from Tennessee, USA. This was the best meal ever! Our entire party of 6 ate every crumb that was set before us. Everything was excellent!!!!!

Tonight my mom and i stopped by after work for some appys and a drink and I wanted to shout out your waitress Kate. She was lovely to talk with and got us to try the cloud 9 desert and oh my god it was amazing! We have been coming here for years and honestly she s the best waitress. I d hire her!

Came to the village taphouse and ordered a stinging bee pizza. Great for the olive lovers out there who like a balance of sweet and sour. Also there was plenty of parking nearby in park royal parking lots that were free.

The taphouse has been a family favourite for years. We are huge fans of the menu and the cold, delicious beer. However, we felt compelled to write a review after noticing our beer has been served warm on recent visits. When we asked about it, we were told they removed the freezers that chill the beer glasses. This change has been quite disappointing, as it significantly affects the refreshing quality of the beer! We really prefer the Taphouse when at Park Royal but will be choosing Cactus Club for the chilled beer!

Just came in for drinks at the bar, Delean was my bartender. So chill at 3 but got busy near the end of happy hour. He still took care of me and had a wonderful conversation at my end of experience. Didnt get food but need to come back for it.

What a great place we had a turkey clubhouse and the spicy crispy sushi that was delicious. Excellent service, it was my friends birthday and were surprised by a chocolate brownie and ice cream.

On June 1 I went to watch the champions league and we reserved a table online. Emily told us that a table infront of one of the TVs were avaible so we reserved. When we got there they told us that we had to get moved since that table was already reservered.

Ive wanted to try this place for years and I finally took my son for a lunch date today. Love the atmosphere in there. Very clean and very comfortable with beautiful decor. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and attentive. The food was incredible. Looks beautiful and is oh so delicious! We will be back the first chance we get. Thanks for a very enjoyable lunch!

Can you guys stop taking away the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING???? Omg it s actually the best item on the menu for me and you took it off before and brought it back and now its gone again what the heck. Thank you Lauren for making our first day in Canada memorable! We are staying at a nearby, walkable RV Campground, and Googled Wings and it led us to The Village Taphouse. Lauren helped us with our choices and helped us with must see areas of Vancouver and helpful tips. So appreciative after our arrival journey. You need to put all the ingredients of your club sandwich on the menu. No where does it say that Kale is involved in this sandwich. Kale is a garnish or grabage, not food. I would not have ordered this if I know it had Kale on it.

Amazing food. Slow service Food

I just had the most sorry excuse for hot wings I ve ever had from a restaurant. These were the tiniest little things that were almost all bone, barely any meat whatsoever, dry, with close to no sauce. $20 for these wings feels even worse and we got 2 orders. Absolutely would not recommend anyone to order there wings, massive disappointment and now we re still hungry

They are always in the process of closing down the better patio with the umbrellas so we had to sit in the front patio with all the car lights hitting us. Pizza is really good. Pepperoni and BBq Chicken.. erm mer gawd Happy hour is a little shy on good drinks.. The patio is what makes this place :) And the pizza :P

I visited here around 4pm June 5th. As soon as I walked into the restaurant entrance, a hostess was showing me to my seat. I requested to sit in a booth, but she said that those seats were for larger parties and guided me to a different spot. When I followed her, she led me to a very secluded area. Although I eventually managed to sit in a spot I liked, I noticed that there were other two-person parties seated in the booth area with plenty of available seats. Although it was a happy hour It felt like they were pushing us into a corner. I felt really bad about it. Normally, I tip generously, but this time I only tipped about little amount of because I was so displeased. I really didn t want to give tips to think of her terrible service. Of course, the male server was friendly, and I felt a bit sorry for leaving a smaller tip because of the hostess who showed us to our seats. Nevertheless, the food was quite good.

Literally best spicy chicken sandwich I ve ever had

Went with a group of 7 friends tonight and our waiter Dylan was awesome. Totally read our vibe, has great energy and was the best waiter I ve had in a long time! I work in hospitality and this guy is doing it the right way. Plus my fish tacos were awesome too.

Ordered a roasted turkey clubhouse for pickup on Saturday. It looked good, but it was inedible because it was slathered in mayonnaise, even though that wasn t listed in the menu description. Place looked cute, but very busy and slow.

We had a very, very bad experience tonight. We go to this restaurant almost every week, and tonight we decided to go there to celebrate Fathers Day. I ordered chicken tenders and my husband ordered steak, requesting it to be medium rare. Our table was uncomfortable, so we asked if we could change our seating. The server brought us the bill to pay before we received our food and moved to another table. When our food arrived, both my dish and my husbands were overcooked. I didn t complain, but my husband wanted his steak medium rare. After he complained, they agreed to bring us another steak, but it took so long that my husband lost his appetite. We decided to take the steak home, but we ended up throwing it away because you cant eat steak later. The whole experience left us very disappointed. And the server didnt check on us even once after we changed tables and paid the bill. The service was really poor. I will never go to this restaurant again. You have lost a regular customer by ruining our Fathers Day.

Reasonable prices, cactus club concept style restaurant. Food is pretty good causal menu. It won t change your life but it s a good little spot. The pizza deal late night is very good!

I asked to speak to the Manager and to the assisting Manager. So, the assisting Manager went to the bartender and asked who would have asked for the Manager? I didnt hear what the bartender said, but the Assisting Manager responded Oh no! which is hilarious because all I had done was GO TO the bartender to order my drink as the service was slow. I might even have snipped a little. OH NO! Dont you love it when the so-called Manager goes to the object of your complaint first, to get biased? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

I have tried the pizza ,wings , and the nine 0z steak dinner very impress with the quality and flavor. Its all very good. Would recommend for anyone wanting a good pub experience . Parking: Good parking all around the plaza with many stores to enjoy Wheelchair accessibility: Can wheel your friend rite up to the large doors to enter and enjoy the excellent food.

Service was appalling. Waited 15 mins to order drinks. Drinks sat at bar for 15 mins, no servers, WE HAD to RETRIEVE our DRINKS from the BAR OURSELVES. Ordered food but NO SERVER came to ask how it was or to REFRESH our EMPTY DRINK glasses. Had REZ FOR BOOTH but was not honored after we aggreed to wait at table for one. Three hours went by and no booth offered when empty ones came up yet the rest of taphouse was near empty the entire time. It apeared the bartender covered the floor but was MIA and only a bus girl was left to clear tables and a hostess. A bus girl and hostess? Where is the staff during happy hour. The Cactus club across the street was packed. Extremely Dissappointed.

Poor and very slow and at times non existent service. Having to get our drinks that sat sitting at the bar not an ideal experience. Having to hunt down a busser for a refresh? Not ideal. Not a team player environment, for a better experience Cactus Club all the way. disappointing. Do better. Be better No excuses.

We loveeeee coming here for the ambiance, the friendly staff, the delicious food. It s all exceptional especially Dylan the server who is the coolest server ever. I made a joke to my partner about comparing him to servers in general because we ve had such a bad go the last few years with customer service in Vancouver. It s been really disappointing it almost makes you not want to go out anymore but thennnnn you come across a guy like a Dylan who s extremely passionate about his work and it s noticeable and it changes your mind ! Really hit and miss with the food, would avoid the fish tacos and artichoke dip. Its basically soup. Their pizza is the redeeming item. Its one of the best Ive ever had

We went to Celebrate my friends birthday. She had godfather pizza with a glass of beer and I had bowl of chicken with salad and glass of vino. Very delicious food and service was excellent. The Village Tap House in North Vancouver provided the perfect haven to unwind after a long day. Seeking relaxation, we opted for a glass of wine, and the waitress, TEse, made a stellar recommendation. Following her suggestion, we indulged in a bottle of Ex Nihilo red, which turned out to be a sublime choice. Pairing it with the Korean chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts, and artichoke dip was a stroke of culinary genius the flavors harmonized beautifully. The sitting area next to the fireplace added a cozy touch to our evening, allowing us to truly unwind and relish a fantastic dining experience at The Village Tap House. Kid-friendliness: Lots of options for kids on the menu.

Seriously the best pizza!! We had the Notorious and added pickled jalapeños yumm!! They have a vast variety of beer and it comes cold, as it should! The service was a tad slow but they were busy and the giant tv screens were a delightful distraction! I ve had a salad there before which was equally delicious.

It was delicious. Truffle potatoes are love. The chicken was crispy and juicy and so was the burger. There was one minus - hard bacon.

We were served by Ethan and HE IS THE BEST!!!!! Absolutely a beauty hire. He definitely deserves a raise because the amount of care and friendliness this guy pours out is insane. I came with my friend and im pregnant - so very sensitive to foods & smells. He was so understanding and made sure i was able to get the food & drink that im able to have and enjoy!! I know hes been with you guys for 2 weeks but hes a keeper. Dont ever think of firing him because i will stop coming there then sure hope we get to be served by him next time too!!

Went with some very hungry friends after rock climbing on Sunday. I had the Cobb salad which was super filling and delicious, two of my friends had the poke bowl and raved about it! We also split a stinging bee pizza which is bomb. Can t recommend enough!

Food was great! Pizza was cooked perfectly and so good. The server was totally disinterested, didn t bring water, ask if we wanted water, check after the meal came nothing. We ve been finished for 15 mins waiting for the bill still waiting. And it s mid afternoon not lunch hour.

A heads up for all the locals who enjoyed the 2 for $30 on their pizzas when taking out, they are apparently no longer offering that. We ve been ordering this special for awhile now and picked up today to find out that they only offer it at their 9pm happy hour now. That was such a great deal, disappointed it s gone.

For the first time visiting the restaurant, I ordered sushi what sushi is not sushi, its just fried rice with little and mini pieces of tuna on top, Im a sushi chef from Brazil state of São Paulo, the tuna pieces should be bigger, it didnt even come with chopsticks , I ate with my hands, ordered a glass of wine, it cost me 18$ dollars I could have bought a bottle at another establishment. so I was disappointed in the food and wine value. the restaurants atmosphere is beautiful, but what attracts me to a place is the food.

Elliot was a phenomenal server. He just got the vibe we were putting out, he got that Rizz. The drinks actually tasted like they had alcohol in them (which is rare for happy hour). And the food was great, that s facts. Thank youuuu

NO VEGAN OPTIONS?!?! I read reviews from 5 years ago that there werent any vegan options. Went today and still no vegan options?? I dont think taphouse understands how many vegans there are in vancouver. Im not vegan but plenty of my friends are. Huh?? Losing out in mega business lol Dietary restrictions: Absolutely awful if youre vegetarian or vegan. Go somewhere else cuz you wont find anything here.

What a great place ! I loved the romantic atmosphere at evening. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. The outdoor area much more fun. The toffee pudding was good. I didnt tried the food yet but from the other tables it looks delicious. The service was nice and friendly. Highly recommended. Big parking lot for free.

Stopped in for brunch. Great service but the food was poor. I had bacon benny, croissant was hard to cut so it must have been microwaved, eggs were not runny and the smashed potatoes over cooked and burnt to a crisp, also bacon over done. My partners breakfast plate equally disappointing, over cooked bacon and smashed potatoes, not sure who invented these smashed potatoes but they are either a really bad idea or just very poorly executed. Very disappointing $50 brunch.

The Korean fried chicken was excellent, the pizzas were all very good, a really good happy hour compared to similar restaurants

Our server Erika (Erica?) was absolutely fantastic. Did I need to ask for a drink? Never. Our host the kind tattooed gentleman was also fantastic and welcoming. Come here for a great atmosphere with welcoming energy and a lovely experience.

Love the food here. Our waiter at that time though was never to be seen once he brought our food. It wasnt busy at that time either. It would have been nice to get a refill or dessert. By the time he did come around, we just wanted the bill. Weve been there a few times and other than that day, service is usually great. You can always count on the food though.

I heard a lot of good things about this place, so I sent my staff there. After my staff being lipped off by a waitress about what time they came, not getting served water, and then asking for hot sauce and finishing their meal and not getting anything requested we wont go there again. Truely a shame since we have been looking for a local place to host our weekly staff dinner meetings. Cactus it is going forward.

Great place with a lovely atmosphere and great food. Service was very nice and quick and the food was amazing. Its nearby the mall so its a nice place to go eat after walking around.

We have been coming to the Taphouse consistently for the past year. The food is excellent and the service is always attentive and friendly. We returned today for a late lunch. There was an issue with one of our dishes but the manager dealt with it in a courteous and professional manner. We are very satisfied with the experience and will be back for sure.

I m normally never a chicken sandwich kinda guy, but this one blew my socks off. Definitely a top 3 ever, also crispy sushi was amazing. I m a regular and have always loved the service and food but today was definitely above and beyond; Thanks to our server heather! Cheers

We waited over 45 mins just to get our appetizers (which we requested to have before our mains but got at the same time as our mains) and when we finally started to get our food it kept coming out with delays so we all couldn t eat at the same time. I understand they have many customers and they re busy but come on 50 minutes just for appetizers is too much. Like we were just sitting there for 45 mins witu only drinks that were finished and no food listening to other peoples conversations because we were super hungry.

Had a 10/10 experience ! Especially thanks to Evan for providing me and my friends with the best care and time in the restaurant, enough to make me write a review! Will come back 10000% for MAC PIZZA

Used to go here regularly with my elderly Mom, since she appreciated the attention the staff paid to her gluten-free dietary needs. Today we toasted Mom and celebrated International Cheeseburger Day. The burgers were great, as was the side kale salad. Our server was attentive and absolutely hilarious. It s been a while, but we ll be back!

Good customer service and delicious food

Food is always so good here! This has become our good to place when we want a night out as we know the food is going to be excellent!!! Our server (Samantha) was absolutely amazing - really made our night! She was so nice, friendly, attentive and you could tell it was just how she was! The best service ever!!!!

Immediately when we arrived we asked for a table for 5 people outside. The greeting staff kept telling me what they couldnt do for us because the larger tables were closed. The breakfast did not come as described on the menu. My family dines in this restaurant every second Sunday. The quality of service had been wonderful until today. The manager today did not take care of the customer.

Ive been here 4 or 5 times. Full disclosure, I go with my buddies when we want a burger and a beer because they do it well... To me it is a 5 star burger. I couldnt tell you about the rest of the menu. The venue is nice and comfortable, and the service has been good every time so we keep coming back.

Great atmosphere, great food and I really recommend it

My wife and I are regulars on Wednesday night music nights.We quitI enjoy live music and both the regular entertainers are very good. Nice selection o music.We love the food. I plan on voting Taphouse as Best Pizza on the north shore for next North Shore News Best of NS .The half price wine doesn t hurt either. Parking: In the Park Royal South, shopping centre. Plenty of free parking. Kid-friendliness: A reasonable number of families with kids, not objectionable in any way. Wheelchair accessibility: Level entry and low-top tables in Dining Room.

Nice place to meet up with friends for happy hour drinks n snacks during the week. Music not too loud so can have conversation. The apple cider and tuna poke bowl are good choices.

The spicy pine apple pizza is amazing when you bite into, it taste fresh. crunch crust.

Apart from the fact that there were too few vegetarian options, and it was a bit pricey, I thought it was pretty great. The servers were particularly nice, helpful, punctual, friendly, respectful, and probably other words I cannot come up with. They were great. My salad with falafel was great, but most of the burger options all had meat on it even if I substituted a veggie patty (bacon, chicken, beef stock, etc). The beer was excellent. I had the Dark Matter and it was particularly great. Vegetarian options: Too few vegetarian options.

Great service. Server took extra care and attention to address food allergies when ordering. Good food. Food not overly pricey but cocktails too expensive. Nice atmosphere but background noise a bit too loud.

The food was a joke...

The food was relatively good and the staff were friendly. However their small high tables are really small and theres barely enough space for food and plates. Let alone if you sat on them youre almost in middle of the way of everyone and you wont have any space for your coats. The atmosphere is cozy but their choice of tables and layout makes it really hard for us to come back because its not enjoyable to sit and suffer.
