Forno West (Westmount) in Westmount

I went for a TGTG for my first time so I didnt understand that you had to collect the basket at 4 p.m. I thought that 4 p.m. was the time around which they stopped accepting requests on the application. Since I wasnt that far away, I went to the address and explained the situation... I arrived at the bakery not even 30 minutes late. The lady told me you should not click on basket not collected, so you cannot recover the basket. Basically I clicked so I thought it would give me options to contact the bakery or other choices.. I said to myself ok lost what.. then I saw testimonies where people had the same case as me and that we still gave them the basket since they paid to have it and that it remains up to the merchant to make this decision ultimately, something which was not offered by the lady .. Really a shame because the principle is anti-waste and I showed up with proof of the order... they prefer to throw away the products than give them to the person who arrived late?

Still quite deplorable that a business in the center of Montreal only hires employees who do not speak French, and who are not very service-oriented. Very disappointing experience.

Big complaint is that they had no decaf. Most cafés dont have decaf on tap and will offer it as an Americano. This one had no decaf period. We did not order food, but it is a nice place.

Ordered a latte, got steamed milk, organization of the locale is mayhem, we were asked who is next, did you pay for the item...really. the setup of the coffee section is, forget it......kudos the lids fit well on the coffee cups, shameful

I have no idea why staff don t know the price of their products. They don t put the name and price tags and when I asked the prices of some cakes, staff was like oh you wanna know the price? OF COURSE I DO. Who would else buy something without knowing prices. And after that, her behavior wasn t good. The bread and cakes here taste so good but the customer service was disappointing. Discipline staff. They should know the price if you don t put the price tags.

Definitely the best Italian bakery in town. They have also nice Italian pasta and sauces if you feel home sick And the girls behind the counter are super helpful and friendly love to visit there and grab a coffee

I stopped by the bakery for a sourdough baguette, and ended up leaving with the baguette, a pastry which was like a pretzel shaped cinnamon roll, and a challah bread. The breads, in particular, were delicious. The challah made an amazing french toast. Thank you so much!

You like Italian desserts, this is the gourmet place even if we are far from the Italian district. There are a few seats inside and a terrace in the summer to enjoy Green Street in Westmount, a few steps from the Atwater metro station. I loved the Sfogliattela.

Amazing place! The sandwiches are superb and the pastry the best! Also id like to add that the staff made my day Today! I usually shop there but de ided to order via Uber! They never delivered my order and the driver had a free breakfast! So i decided to reorder! The young lady called me and asked me if the reorder was ok! Explained the story and they send me a note with a little sweet treat for me! One thing is for sure uber is deleted but forno is my spot for ever! Good job guys!

Very disappointed. This was the best Italian pastry in Westmount. Went there Friday and everything was tasteless. The Zeppoli s were old the cookies were older. The pizzas were stale extremely disappointing not coming back.

The most fresh bakery in the city perfect take out and nice terrace

Stopped by yesterday and the food was really good. I LOVE fresh baked goods. Also purchased a white chocolate & cranberry loaf of bread. It was delicious Went at around 4pm. The employee, she was super friendly helpful and nice. Will definitely be back.

Yesterday we held a wedding shower for our daughter at Forno westmount. Carmela the owner went above and beyond to make sure every detail was fulfilled as we asked . Food was delicious staff was attentive . Thank you for a memorable event .

Very nice atmosphere and service

Love love their pistachio croissant! Giving it a 4 star because I used to buy them occasionally, and for the past few recent times I ve noticed that the filling has decreased A LOT MORE! When I first tasted the pistachio croissant, the filling was overflowing! Now, the filling is only in the middle :/

Expensive and did not get a good vibe from the staff or the premises. Certainly in no hurry to go back. Coffee was good!

Best patisserie in town!

I contacted the location directly about cleanliness issues and they never got back to me, both times. This was after we found a random object baked into our pizza last time we were there and all we got back from the staff was oh no, sorry!. The Westbury location has equally pressing hygiene issues. Otherwise the food is pretty decent, but I also feel like quality declined substantially since opening.

Girl with brown hair above the shoulders has a big attitude with customers and other staff. I went to simply pick up a slice of pizza her coworker asked her to serve me since she was already taking care of another customer, the girl didn t bother with me she was fiddling with papers and chatting with the gentleman who works downstairs, her co worker got the pizza for me she asked her to ring it up, she continued talking I asked if she minded ringing me up I had to return to work, told me I would wait so I left. My coworker said the same happened to her same employee

Walked in for a spinach pizza and a coffee. Price of pizza 5.00 as a sign reads ! At cash they punched in 6.50 , when I told her the sign reads 5.00 ,she told me its just a sign . 6.50, thats the price and if you dont want it its OK . As a message to the public WATCH OUT when your order is rang up as they seem to try and FxxK their clients.

This review is strictly regarding the pre made sandwiches and customer service. Sadly all of the premade sandwiches are extremely dry. A most dissatisfying experience.

I was there around 12 . The bread I bought was cold, probably made a day before. You need Gordon to tell you about cooking today and sell it tomorrow. In Milan this will not last a week. The bread itself is overcooked and fake. 1 st time there and the last.sry thats the truth.

I encountered a significant issue with the food quality at this establishment, and my initial visit would also be my last. A friend and I ordered a brownie cake, and upon tasting it, it was evident that it had not been properly stored, resembling food left in a fridge for an extended period. Furthermore, the Italian Sausage I ordered was of poor quality, resulting in stomach discomfort. In addition, the prices did not align with the advertised rates. I would strongly advise being cautious and not falling for the deceptive practices of this store.

Best bakery Ive seen, ordered the cannoli and zeppole and it was the best pastries Ive ever tasted. They also deliver which is nice, just be careful because the pastries get dry quickly so you should them quickly.

I was charmed by the service the first time I went, but its been hit and miss ever since. Today, there were 4 employees and 4 customers, but it somehow it seemed like an inconvenience that we were there and it took 10 minutes to pay for my order. I dont think Ill be going back after todays experience.

Don t expect a polite attitude from the staff and don t expect them to wear masks when serving food (mask mandate isn t over yet). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To reply to the below comment: There is no such thing as the interaction being perceived as being impolite, if someone (anyone) shouts out to a client without saying please or thank you, then by default it is an impolite response. I could also use your argument and say that I was too fatigued at the end of my work day and needed to rest my foot on the chair to tie my shoe, but you would agree that this wouldnt apply. On the subject of the mask, its not a question of temperature; its a question of hygiene, and if youre going to be serving food to people (which youve mentioned has been sitting under a room temperature of over 35 degrees and can foster bacteria easily as a consequence), the least you can do is wear a mask upon serving the food, and take it off when youre doing other things. For these above reasons, I feel that my points are still valid about: 1. Lack of courtesy on the subject of customer service. 2. The attitude of the lady claimed herself as manager is terribly rude. If she has no ability or welling to service client or make people feel comfortable, she should stay in back office or kitchen. Thank you for replay. The whole story is I made a order at TooGoodToGo and I asked my wife to go there to pick up ( Her office is only 30 meters away). The lady claimed as Manager tried all the way she can to make the whole pickup process difficult. She asked my wife to download APP to make confirmation even my wife show her the picture that I already made pickup confirmation. She put two pieces of food away in front of my wife that suppose to be include in Surprise bag cause she was not happy that my wife told her she could not swiping confirmation that I already did it. She refused to provide package bag and said you should bring bags yourself. what kind of bakery store will ask client bring their own bags to take food?! Grocery shopping?! At same time she kept saying this surprise bag worth over 20$ as we were taking a lot of advantage from her. Seems like she is doing charity and we are begging for free food which is NOT! I have made orders through Too good to go several times, never have problem like this. It suppose to be a win win situation to all of us but not worth to get this kind of humiliation. If this is your service standard, it really need to be reviewed and improve. If your employee not able to make client comfortable but humiliate them instead, the she really need more training.

This place is wild!!! If you havent tried their lobster tail you havent lived. From delicious pastries to fluffy flawless bread, to delicious pizza (the one spinach and burrata is to die for, even cold or reheated), its a dream for the mouth. I apologize for your waistline in advance. Super friendly quick service. This is a true quality boulangerie. RUN!!

There is a thin girl, short (waist, height) white, and always speaks in English and she works at the counter..wowww it was unheard of, I witnessed how she spoke with a customer..she was arrogant , she doesnt know how to talk with a customer. She has no professional ethics. We dont put these kind of people at the counter, because of them you will lose a lot of potential customers etc.

Bad service. They have to respect their closing hours. The other day I ran to get there before 5. I was there at 4h52. They were closing, they saw me and didn t let me in. The girl who gave me few seconds of her time told me to to talk to the manager. Of course the manager was busy closing!! Well I don t care if they have good food I will not be going back!! I thank the owner for replying. But 16h52 is not 17h00. I could have been served in 5 minutes.

I just had a Lobster Tail from Forno West. This is an Italian pastry with a flaky exterior cone filled with a lightly sweetened cream. I havent tasted a pastry in Montreal like this in a very long time. Support this bakery because it is outstanding, and (based on my first try) might be the best bakery in town.

Bought zeppole was with a friend, the lady made us feel so bad about buying just one ! Then she pronounced the world correctly as if we were saying it wrong...When she asked my friend if she needed anything she said no tx and she said oh your just here for the ride( are you serious?)....Once we got to the cash the lady wanted to pass the woman after us to pay ,I had to tell her that I was there and I only wanted to pay....Made us feel so angry and unwelcome just for a desert that ended up being too expensive and tasted just normal....Welcome to Westmount....you lost costumers,never going back!

Unfortunately didnt have a good experience yesterday. I came at 5pm and it seemed as though the employees didnt care to be serving any longer. I took the turkey sandwich, to find that it was missing both pesto and the aoli, even though they were listed on the ingredients on the bag. The bread was delicious however

Had a salad for dinner and superb. Moreover, salads which were prepared yesterday and which were not sold the same day, will be sold the following day at 50% off. So, fresh ingredients and well chosen in fact it tastes good! Well done !

Been in total 3 times to this place and on 3 occasions we had bad experience with service. 2 of them were the first week they opened so we thought they are still adjusting and training. The last was about 2 weeks ago when things started to open up we decided to give it a try hoping that service would be smoother but we were wrong and 1 staff was rude and don t bother to apologies when they know they were wrong. We are not demanding customers but brushing us aside while we have not finished our order to attend to the client behind us is rude no matter how you justify it. We waited in line for our turn and expect good service when it s our turn. Sadly won t be returning which is a shame as the food was good.

Overall, I like this place. The quality of the food has been very good in my experience. The issue is that some of the stuff is overpriced, and the person serving you either gives you great service or would rather be doing something else. The pizza is excellent and surprisingly fairly priced, which is the main reason I still go

we were on a virtual meeting when our collegue walked into this cafe to get somehting sweet but as it was heavily raining so she walked in and removed her jacket, less then five minutes the girl asked her to order something or to leave so our friend said I am going to get something but forget and she walked away, but I could say they are rude and discrimnatory.

I have been to Forno West many times since the opening and have never been disapointed. Whether I stop by for a pistachio cornetto and espresso for breakfast or grab a quick proscuitto and fig panino for lunch, I am always impressed by the freshness and quality. Dont even get me started on how amazing the pizza is, comparable (might I even say better than) pizza straight out of Italy. Overall, amazing service, amazing food, amazing local business. Love, Love, Love it!

really good pastries (Im slowly trying them all), good coffee, lovely-looking bread and very good service. a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood! i have had the sfogliatelle, lobster tail and lemon knot and they are all top scorers. my son enjoyed the Tiramisu (classic) but took off points for the cake being too soggy and the disting of cocoa too light. so it only got an 8/10! there ate also groceries and savories on this wonderland--a perfect place for holiday treats and good quick eats.
