My go to place to get chocolatine (pain au chocolat). Today around 5pm I went to grab some as usual and the young woman working there only spoke french and replied in french quite rudely. Now I’m pondering if I should go back since yes, you guys have the best chocolatines but no, your service could be better.
I tried this patisserie once, and since I'm on a gluten-free diet, I was pleased to find a couple of options; unfortunately, they were sold out. So, I decided to indulge and ordered a pistachio éclair. It was creamy and not too sweet, which is perfect for me, and I really enjoyed it. The latte they serve is good, and the prices are generally fair. They have many options for sweets, quiches, breads, and more, all of which look tempting. I also bought two gluten-free loaves of bread, and they were delicious. The location is great and easily accessible, with bus routes 24 and 62 right in front of the shop. I recommend this place if you're craving something sweet and comforting. And definitely I will go again to try something else and buy the loaves again.
The Royal and the Choco-Framboise cake are amazing. I also had the Paris Brest and the the tartelette, they are pretty good. I have been buying them for different birthdays party and everybody has been loving them. It’s nice to have a place nearby to pick up a good dessert quickly at a reasonable price. I am also very happy they have gluten free options as I sometimes need a gluten free dessert for some guests. Really hope they stay in the neighborhood for a long time.
Terrible experience- bought a chocolate cake this morning and asked for a plaque with a birthday note. They said that they ran out of chocolate plaque but if we could wait, they would have it ready in 2 hours. We went back and they handed the same box telling us that they ran out of chocolate plaque. Why tell us to come back in 2 hours then? Added proof: At 10:15, the server actually went to check in the back (with open window) that the plaque can be done and ask us to come back ~noon time. I sent my daughter in to pick up the cake with them insulting my daughter first and making her feel like a fool because they just gave her the cake in the same box without any explanation that nothing was done. Every question she asked was met with no, what, are you crazy? So why make us go back in 2 hours when nothing is done when they could have given us the same cake 2 hours earlier? My daughter came out crying the way they treated her. I’m sorry if I had overreacted, but this store simply cannot be trusted. More added observations: we saw dancing mosquitoes and flies on the pastries and nothing was done about it.
I enjoyed a refreshing cup of green tea and a delicious pistachio eclair. The baristas were exceptionally kind and welcoming, assisting me in making a choice. I really appreciated the inviting atmosphere. :)
Ok, wow. Absolutely fantastic pastry. Had the rasberry croissant (see photo) and it quite simply made my day. The other offerings look good as well but i have to watch my calorie intake. This will be a regular stop. Did i mention that the prices are most reasonable - i would have paid twice the amount without complaining. ;)
Authentic French pastries I haven’t seen since I was in Paris. Beautiful decor and lovely people. If you’re hoping for pastries that remind you of your snack walking back from CM2 (primary school), you’re in luck. For me personally I was disappointed with the tart I bought because the crust (sablé) wasn’t thoughtfully considered. The rest of it (custard and fruit) was delicious and fresh and thoughtfully presented like most French pastry shops. Many corner store pastry shops in France have moved towards mass production (defrosting croissants instead of making them fresh each morning, etc.), but because this place markets and prices itself for quality, I was hoping for something more fully artisanal. It’s nice to see people continuing the French tradition, and I hope the business continues to grow with success.
Best raspberry croissant I have ever had 🤩. The bread is also very nice and the seating area is lovely! I am very pleased they are in Westmount now!
The croissants and the cakes are so good!
The pastries are excellent!! Impeccable service. Really wow!
Very beautiful place by Alex Platel Westmount, it is exceptional, refined, a delight for the taste buds and visually beautiful. Friendly atmosphere, very good value for money pastries, very good bread! There they put the Halloween decoration. I tasted their raspberry croissant which was delicious and the old-fashioned brioche too! On the savory side, there are also many different varieties! Brilliant welcome, radiant person, to try without moderation! Vegetarian options: Lots of varieties Kid-friendliness: Absolutely yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes easy to get into a wheelchair
Phew! I think this is the first review Ive written on Google, but I cant ignore the joy I just experienced tasting these exquisite pastries. Clearly, we use real quality ingredients here as required to do justice to the great classics. The rum baba is full of rum. Apple strudel is made from puff pastry whose buttery taste comes through immediately. And try the flank, youll see -- nothing like anything youve ever had before. The prices are of course higher than in grocery stores, but they are well worth the difference in taste and quality. In any case, I was satisfied!
Very good service, pastry to die for! Thank you so much for being there
Very welcoming and kind staff! Pastries and pastries are delicious. Very friendly space, thank you
I had one hot mochachino and a chocolate Croissant. Both of them are so nice, but it would be perfect if they would warm up the bread. I couldnt ask them to do that, so I should have asked.
Excellent breads and pastries.
Very good flan!
Kitchen, countertops, and table surfaces not clean. There s a big freezer storing products for baking, so none of the croissants are baked from fresh. Staff either new or unfriendly, seemed overwhelmed all the time. I m appalled by the number of flies inside the glass containers.
Excellent place for dessert, the raspberry croissant is incredible. And the little desserts are all original and made with quality ingredients.
One of my favorite addresses in Montreal for pastries (strawberry pie, lemon tart and decadent are absolutely delicious!), pastries (Swiss) and savory foods (quiches and focaccia). The quality is impeccable. There are fewer products in Westmount than in Outremont at the moment, but I can only hope that the store finds its audience and expands!
Nice addition to the corner. Good coffee, pastries and some comfy seating.
Eugenie, Manuel, Rachel & Mathias are your best employees and your vienoissieries are great for the price.
above the majority Westmount has been blessed and proportionately far more spoiled by the high end of artistic sweets commonly known under the name and form of pastries than gastronomic fares. We can speak of Gascogne now in mourning of its refined delicacies. The gossip has Rhubarbe on Laurier deserving praise. But the gods who adorn our city must be celebrated, because their passage which brings us honor is only ephemeral. Christian Faure, this venerable magician of dough and chocolate, takes flight to Laval. Not a total loss but a local loss! Pastry chefs exit the alcoves to fill this void and this challenge. Westmount had this opportunity to see them set up their base at the corner of Sherbrooke and Claremont. Now we see Alex Platel in a new dimension flattering the multiple classics deployed in sparkling shades. It may be the religieux, the rum baba or the éclair that sparks the interest indulging your choice. Its the texture and the quality ingredients melting gently that will intoxicate you, begging you to savor this sweetness. Don t be enticed by my comments, but rather allow your taste buds the privilege of perception of this smooth delectable charm. On a pragmatic note, their price being lower and the quality exceeding their competitors add justification for your detour. So, take a break, and allow Alex Platel s exquisite creations to render sweet pleasure. JL Bourque, passionate gastronome
Why open at 7.30 if nothing is ready by 8 ? No eclair, no chocolate croissant, no kouign Amann, and Im forgetting things. Whats remaining is so so. Caneles ? Not crispy outside as it should be. Just a cold soft sad one (unfrozen ?). The person serving could be nicer, but I guess that if nothing is ready at opening, it can be stressful. There are way better bakeries that have everything they claim to have at their opening time. Disappointment all around
My lunch was very good however the two young women working there only spoke French and were quite grouchy and too busy gossiping to each other . Before I left when I asked to use the washroom I was replied in French and quite rudely .
Very nice pastry in Westmount! The products are simply delicious and we find the tastes of France. It is possible to pre-order online and pick up on site, its perfect. There are a few tables to sit and enjoy your pastries. Dietary restrictions: There are gluten-free pastries.
Best patisserie in Westmount/NDG
Amazing place coffee, pastries and service exceeded expectations. Will definitely come back.
The service here is always so kind and helpful, I always enjoy asking for recommendations for sweets and pastries. Wonderful service and environment
this new pastry shop in Westmount is a little treasure of delicacies, delicious pastries and sugar brioche, the best in MTL congratulations and great success
I could not recommend the raspberry croissants enough
normal
Just treated myself to a Paris-Brest with a pistachio twist because my dessert choices are as sophisticated as my taste in vacations. Who needs Paris when you have Paris-Brest? #PastryTraveler #PistachioPower
Great new addition to the neighbourhood! Amazing Apple strudel, decadent cakes, good selection of breakfast fare and all at a fair price. Won t have to drive to NDG anymore :)
Unfortunately, this place was just not to my taste. We had a better experience at the Outremont location. The croissant was a bit stale. The chocolate chip cookies were too sweet. The tartelettes were fine; nothing special. The pastry base was quite difficult to cut through but the filling was nice. My girlfriend thought that the lemon tartelette was excellent.
Amazing Pastries, I recommend the pistachio éclaire
Ive been waiting for a top quality bakery to open up near me for a while. Their Baguettes, Croisants, and Pain Chocolat were all delicious. Very fresh, crisp, & flakey, as they should be. Im excited to try their other stuff :)
Service was lovely and the air was rich with the smell of butter. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu!
We tasted the chocolate/raspberry cake, delicious, light and not too sweet to fully appreciate the flavors of the creamy raspberry and the chocolate mousse
Finally we got a decent place to pick up cakes for birthdays and croissants for breakfast!
Delicious pastries and pastries, and Nutella brioche to die for. The bread is not the best I have eaten as a French person, but reasonable. Nice shop where you can stay and eat. Lots of other little treats (chocolate, fruit jellies). The service is good, but it depends on who serves you Some servers are more friendly and attentive than others.
Coffee and cakes are amazing, generous portions
Delicious French bakery and pastry shop, really nice to have such a place in the neighborhood. Very friendly service.
Good quality and decent price!
