The service was really good, servers are really nice. The food is amazing as always with Kinton and it was really cozy!
Shallots, crisp sliced Pork, bamboo shoots, nori, wood ear mushroom, scallions. Bowl. Hot to touch. Included authentic wooden spoon/ladle . Broth. Slightly creamy, balanced salt level and you can taste the unique flavour of the wood ear mushroom which actually has a slight woody flavour. Thought the appearance is creamy and delicious i prefer a broth that is more clear. For me I find that there is too much nori flavouring as well as aroma from the nori, thus reducing the ability to taste and smell other ingredients and flavourings. The aroma mixes with the nori standing out and the mushrooms but the pork flavour is not as pronounced as I would expect. When eating the ingredients you don’t notice too much, but when most ingredients are gone you are able to confirm your suspicion that the broth is a little too oily. When you look into the bowl (see photo) you can see the oil separation bubbles on top. I t would be beneficial if this brother could be made less oily by skimming off some of the fat once chilled or cooled before using to serve. It’s another step in the process but would make a nice improvement. Pork. Incredibly cooked to perfection. Slightly crisp on the outside while the inside was tender, soft and easy to chew even if I did not have teeth. There was a perfect thin strip of fat which gave it added flavour and texture. One of the best examples of Japanese ramen soup with excellent pork. Egg as a little small, but well seasoned and perfectly cooked the way it should be. Note: if you want pork to remain soft and tender, eat it right away as it will continue to cook in the broth and eventually the soft texture will turn to a more firm texture that requires more effort to chew. This is just a preference. Noodles are plentiful and are clearly the star of the dish as it is supposed to be. The brother and the noodles are an exceptional in Japanese culture and Kinton does this as in Japan. The doneness is perfect. Not al dente, but just a slight more so there is a nice chew without being chewy. This is a perfectly cooked noodle that also tastes delicious. Note, noodles are freshly made in house all the time. Nori. Although the nori adds a lovely full rounded flavour, the execution of this I believe to be flawed. The bowl come with a large strip which then becomes clumped and shrivelled up. I think it should be cut in think strips as in miso soup to allow the ability to eat it properly and without difficulty. I would suggest to remove it immediately from the bowl and place it in a napkin to the side. Mushrooms. The technique used is thinly sliced as preferred with the nori. This is perfect and again, each to eat and delicious. It also blends with the noodles and as such, when gathering up the noodles they will catch into the clump of noodles in each mouthful. Overall take away I only tried the most basic and what is to be considered the standard in any ramen shop - the pork original style ramen bowl. I did not try anything else because if this dish is not good I would not waste my time on other dishes. Also, I wanted to make sure my tastebuds are not altered from any other flavours. The result is that I would come back again and likely try the basic chicken version (Chicken Original bowl at $15.99) without any sides to confirm my belief that the food is good and consistent. As for the other items like sides such as Gyoza, fries, and more. If alone no, but if in a group it would be fun to try all the lovely side dishes as they appear to be yummy. This may be my 3rd visit when I feel comfortable to bring guests and put my (foodie) reputation on the line lol. Pricing is reasonable for today’s market. Place is very clean and very organized. Kitchen is open concept and you can watch them cooking various dishes. Sitting at the bar makes the experience a lot more fun if you’re one or two people l, maybe three at the most. Seating is basic but nice and with good personal space.
This restaurant serves some of the best ramen I’ve ever eaten! The service was great, the servers made sure that everything was correct. The place was overall clean and just great! Heavily recommend for ramen lovers.
The delicious warm bowl of comfort I needed day after a geriatric neo-fascist was elected as the American president. Highly recommend the Jalapeño Chicken. Made me forget all about this moment in history, momentarily. Brad’s service was A+++.

My boyfriend and I often go to Kinton as we love the food and service. We decided to try the Westmount location last night and we were super disappointed with the service. The restaurant was empty, yet they sat us in between two couples and when we asked to move, we were told no, in case big groups arrived (it was quiet all night and we most definitely did not need to be squished in between strangers). We were also not greeted when we arrived or left. Our waitress then seemed to finish her shift and just left so we were then served by an Asian girl. She messed up my boyfriends ramen order (there was no bamboo) and never once came to see us to take away our appetizer plates, ask us if everything was OK or refill our water. We will definitely not be going back to this location!

We just had dinner at b Kindton Ramen in Westmount with our family of five, and it was fantastic! All the kids and adults loved it. The ramen was absolutely delicious flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Aside from the ramen, we highly recommend the takoyaki and fried chicken; both were cooked to perfection with great flavor. The ambiance is cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. We ll definitely be back!

Good ramen for around $20. The exterior should be brighter and with a stylish sign reminiscent of Osaka!!. The room which always looks like a canteen, average decor could be more Japanese to take us away from the cursed criss!! , fortunately the good, generous, well-filled bowls warm our bodies (and our souls too, my father!). Practical when you live in the area and need comfort.... The staff is professional, fast and has a sense of service.

IF YOU WANT RAMEN, DONT GET TRICK BY THE NAME! IT IS NOT THE SPOT FOR IT! Broth: 1/5 Noodle: 2/5 Topping: 2/5 Bland! I ordered the original ramen witch is a tonkustu... The broth tasted like hot water mixed with a splash of milk... yes that bland! The noodle are not the greatest, they seem more fit for a tamoto sauce then ramen soup. And finally the topping tasted fine but the quantity was sub-par. For exemple a microscopic piece of nori! I mean it is the less expensive thing in a ramen put at least two of them! Chashu pork tasted just ok, but was gone in 3 bites. Looks like shrinkflation got to that ramen shop!
Its a bit touchy to say that. But we chose this restaurant over another because of the reviews... The starter (dumplings) and dessert were excellent but the main course left something to be desired (in my opinion of course). At the end the waitress arrives and asks us if we want to have the free ice cream for a 5 star review. I was shocked. In short, I found it important to express it and to say that sometimes reviews do not always reflect the truth...

Since the store is near my school, I come and eat here often durinh lunch time. Shoyu Chicken Ramen and Spicy Végé have always been my favorite. The employees are really nice and friendly. The service of the waitress today was horrible! The interaction from her side was hostile from the very beginning. Also we asked for extra eggs and they forgot them. I had to go and speak to the cook and mentioned if the eggs were ready. Guesss what! They forgot it . Then once all my family was done with their food, the waitresss arrived saying oh, I guess is too late for the eggs I just wanna understand , why the waitress was so rude from The beginning to the end??? Even my husband told her please calm down . This message is for the young waitress: when you work in customer service, all the issues and stuff that bother you have to be put aside . Don t burst on clients . We are not your punching bags . Also, at the end when I came to pay to the cash , you made sure there was no tip option because you were fully aware of how devastating experience it was.
First time at Kinton Ramen over there. I was surprised I never heard about this place before when I went a year ago. Their prices are respectable and it s very close for any students that love ramen.
