Small in size but packs a big punch in terms of quality of service, atmospheres and good food . Good neighborhood and easy to walk to from downtown so you dont have to worry about finding parking (if a tourist).

Don t go here if you have a child. He doesn t want your kind in his establishment. A mother and her two children were asked to leave because one of her children got a little fussy. Terrible way to run a business.

Great diner!

Wish I could review the food , but I left before I could order. I walked in and was told to take any table. There was one booth available, but it has a few of the dishes that had not been cleaned. I didn t mind so I sat down. No one approached me or gave me a menu. My friend arrived and we sat for another 5 minutes being ignored. I mad eye contact with someone who gave me a quizzical look when I asked for menus. He came over to the table and he said why would you sit at a dirty table! He then very dramatically took the dishes off the table and as he walked away said loudly you don t sit down at a dirty table!! At this point we no longer wanted to stay. The restaurant was not busy so I cannot understand how he was so flustered. I have never had an experience like this at any restaurant. I guess I can scratch Nicks off my list.

Delicious brunch and very friendly staff. I went with grandmother who requires a walker and they were sure to help. That said, it is very tight seating and not the most comfortable for people with reduced mobility. Worth the effort though if you want a good brunch in/near Westmount. Vegetarian options: Its a very extensive menu with options for everyone. Parking: Easy to find parking in the surroundings and theres a lot right across. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.

For my 3rd delivery, I ordered the same thing as for my first and it was so good, I am giving it 5 stars again. Clearly I dont like everything they have got, and it is a bit expensive, but I have not found this quality elsewhere. After my first delivery, I was going to give it 5 stars. But now it is barely 4. My first delivery was for a chicken salad sandwich on kimmel and it was great. I also order the vegetarian sandwich and it was very pleasant: light and healthy. Today, I got the BLT which was dry and had no mayo (I added my own); it was OK but not great. I also got the clam chowder which was awful. Almost all potato and barely any taste of clam (at 13$). I still think their sandwiches have potential; will try again.

I just found this place today and I have never been more satisfied with a restaurant. The service, the community ambiance and the perfect portions have me wanting to go back! Definitely a little gem! Kid-friendliness: They have different types of child seats to suit your little ones needs

Thought this being quite an institution in westmount, read the article in the montreal gazette etc.. it would be so good! very disappointed, frozen round potatoes with awful garlic salt. Pancakes tasted like boxed stuff ! Wow ! Not worth the money !

Egg was soggy, was not price worthy at all To response to your comment: i work close to the restaurant so the food was still fresh when i opened it. i felt like the portion size was minimal with what i paid for and i could ve gotten more food for the same price in another breakfast restaurant. i just didn t like the quality of the food related to the price

Nicks special omelette lacks the special and omelette. - Very soggy watery small omelette. - Tastes like liquid eggs, worse than any fast food breakfast place. - Sausages taste like supermarket canned hotdogs. - Spinach not cooked well Service was ok and friendly.

Not suitable if you dont eat pork. Only 1 veggie option (omelet); staff including owner very uncompromising, refusing point blank to add mushrooms, or replace sausage with any vegetable, even tomatoes. Food of poor quality, pancakes and potatoes from frozen (same youd get in a motel breakfast). Toasts are from simple sliced bread, slammed with butter. Overall one of the cheapest brunches in Montreal - much less tasty and refined than chains like Universal, Eggspectation/ Cora or Ben&Florentine. Atmosphere is good though but very dark inside, and no terrasse unfortunately.. A more generous, friendly staff and more edible food would be very highly suggested.

I dont understand the $$ price category. I paid for a simple Benedictine extra sausage, regular coffee for $39 including the 15% tip. Ive never paid more than $25 for a bene even with a latte. Note to owner: you will not see me again.

While the menu has a lot of interesting options than most restaurants, the customer service there is non-existent and unresponsive. The staff are snobby and more concerned with socializing with each other and their regulars than first time customers. I get the feeling unless youre a full time regular customer there, youre not gonna get the full attention from their service staff. Overall: this place is snobby and I avoid it.

Took my Mother and Wife out for brunch. I searched for local breakfast spots and stumbled upon Chez Nick. I regret nothing. The food was perfectly cooked to everyone s liking and delicious. Staff were friendly and courteous. Added to our favorite restaurants and excited to come back!

BEST YAM FRIES! i was shopping on greene avenue with my mother and we decided to stop for a drink mid-afternoon and a snack on their sidewalk terrace (those are not always great, especially when cars park right next to it, but for once it wasn t smoldering outside we decided to sit there). granted we didn t eat much, but everything was good and i particularly want to highlight that they make the BEST YAM FRIES in montreal! (aka sweet potato fries). i live in vancouver and we ve had those everywhere for many, many years, and slowly they have finally appeared on montreal menus... but it s taken all these years to find a place that makes them amazing! (sorry, no photos we ate them too fast!)

Not for anything . This place is a complete tourist trap. Where do I begin? The food was horrible. Everything was over cooked or undercooked. The employees were speaking about how mistreated they were and because of that service was very atrosh and made the atmosphere Very toxic. Please reconsider if you are considering this very disgusting place. The owner mistreating his employees was the most concerning for me. Food is also very overpriced. Owner was also heard yelling and swearing at his staff. Seems like the owner needs to learn what RESPECT is. Shame on you NICK!

I must say that anyone who rates this place low has no idea about what good service is the food was a typical dinner type breakfast with what you would expect . Omelette ( nicks special ) was done well and still had some creaminess to it . What was amazing is the service , how nice these people are !!! seriously a lot of locals ( which speaks a lot about food and service ) . It s a nice and comfortable spot for a great breakfast while you kick the laptop open and check a few emails. I did not feel rushed and the coffee kept coming . Seriously , Nicks is a great little place worth visiting again and again . Parking: need to get the Westmount app.

My Bf and I did Uber eats from here and I was very excited to try the clam chowder. Unfortunately it was lack lustre and tasted like it came out of a can. Very thick did not taste or look freshly made. We ordered the Greek salad and that too was not the best quality.

Went for breakfast in this beautiful little district of Westmount on Green. The food was generous and reasonably priced, very much a traditional breakfast diner. The staff were attentive and in good spirits even bright in the morning! Overall great little place for a coffee or quick bite.

A warmhearted visit to an old friend. The spinach salad is just as I remembered it and the atmosphere and ambience were reassuringly familiar.

Anytime I m in west mount , chez nick it is! It s a legendary spot. Love having quick customer meetings there as well. Food is A+. Anytime I show up with my kids they re extremely accommodating as well.

Reasonably priced and great food

How have I never heard of this place before? Great little spot on Greene in Westmount that has a great menu selection. I went for lunch with a colleague at her suggestion and was not disappointed. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, pasta dishes, and salads. I had the poutine and my colleague had a sandwich (which were great) but I peeked at dishes on othe tables and their pasta dishes look delicious. And to top it off, we had a very cheerful server! Ill be going back for sure. Gotta try the pasta next!

I cant express how important it is to me when I am greeted by a smiling staff member. And.... Every other staff member we interacted with were happy, smiling, and gracious. It sets you the entire agenda when having a meal,b from start to finish. Of course the food is good and the brunch selection is great. The seating is a little cramped if taking the booths for a party of four. It is no wonder they have been around for many decades.

Ok so I ate at Chez Nick back in April 2022. I was impressed with the atmosphere, food and service so much that when I returned to Montreal this week I took my twins with me. Again the food was amazing, the atmosphere was cozy as it was when I was there in the spring but the staff went way above and beyond this time. You see we were having a bit of a student housing crisis and meltdown. Not only did the staff come to our aid with kind words, hugs, housing suggestions they even informed us of Quebec housing law which I was able to use as a negotiating tool to leverage a new apartment by the end of an exhausting and emotional day , which by the way was my 60th birthday. o Lots of love to Joyce Robyn and I think her name was Devon?!

I had always been happy with this restaurant till today when the reception lady hung up on me and didnt let me finish my question. Hope the restaurant manager address this bad reception.

Went with a classmate for an assignment we had to, chose Chez Nick and wow what a good topic. Wonderful Aesthetic, great patronage, really quaint and quiet Parisian Café style. Would definitely recommend, great menu and location. Definitely coming back! (Plus got commented on my outfit, very friendly crowd :D)

I ve been eating at Nick s weekly for over a decade. There s a reason this restaurant is over 100 years old and always busy. It comes down to the amazing service and incredibly fresh food. I have never been to a restaurant with staff who are consistently smiling, caring and genuinely happy to be there. Rob, the owner is always there, behind the counter pitching in and willing to talk about any music genre you can think of! You can get a sandwich, salad or breakfast at a ton different restaurants throughout the city, but I have never been anywhere that does it as consistently and as caringly as the team at Nick s. The portions are always right, the food is always fresh and you re always greeted with a smile. Tourists are told to go to Beauty s, Schwartz s, St Viateur but if you want a great representation of what Montreal is about, drop by Nick s. There s just something unique about it that anyone who lives or visits the city should experience. Vegetarian options: tons of vegetarian options Parking: tons of parking (free on Sundays) Kid-friendliness: totally kid friendly.

Super nice staff. Everyone is friendly and having conversations with each other. Good hot chocolate, and they have milk alternatives. Steak and vegetables were a little bland. Sweet potato fries were good. It is a little cramped and the booths are on the smaller side. The bathroom didnt smell great and is also very cramped, so not ideal for those with mobility challenges or with support dogs. Parking: Parking is free after 6pm on the street Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs to get in and very narrow to get through restaurant. No place to put even crutches.

Had the hot chicken sandwich. Sides were cut off the bread which made it a smaller sandwich and the amount of chicken was sparse and not very tasty. MEH describes it perfectly. Service was friendly....but I wont eat here again.

This is a classic dinner. You would almost expect it to be a greasy spoon but everything they do is elevated above that. The food is classic dinner food, without ever feeling heavy or over indulgent. The atmosphere is fantastic as is the decor. Again elevated dinner experience with great staff and fairly reasonably prices in Westmount. Definitely going back again!

Always delicious! Food is of great quality and menu is varied offering quick snacks, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Nicks many choices can cater to all taste and dietary requirements. Staff are long-term employees with a vested interest in keeping customer happy and returning. Our go-to neighbour restaurant.

Really tasty place although I was really sad to find out that not all sandwiches from the featured sandwiches menu came with fries which made the $15 for a bagel feel significantly overpriced!! I must have missed the fine print somewhere :(.

An absolute gem! I love this place, I felt as if I was on vacation the last time I went; the service is amazing, the food is tasty and the atmosphere was simply soothing. The menu offers a lot of variety, but not too much to overwhelm you when it is time to choose. I will definitely go back!

Leurs assiettes de petit déjeuner sont bonnes quoique le même prix que les assiettes de restaurants de chaines (allo mon coco, eggspectation etc) pour de beaucoup plus petites portions!

Even though Chez Nick has been around since 1920 (wow, right?), I only found it recently by pure chance. I was looking for a diner, kind of old style, like the ones in Twin Peaks , and I stumbled upon this beauty on Google Maps. Fantastic atmosphere inside, convivial staff (wearing 101 years black uniform!) and succulent food. If you re going there for breakfast, you re gonna love it. The mesmerizing jazz (so much my taste) playing in the background makes you feel like you re in some classic Hollywood flick. There s one caveat though they don t have Wifi

This restaurant is a classic in Westmount. It s not a gourmet place but a great place for Brunch with good food at good prices. I like the breakfasts there and the Cobb Salad !

Ordered a Croque-Monsieur, said it was coming with ham, cheese a choice of broccoli or asparagus and choice of having it on croissant or baguette. They charged me 1$ more for the baguette, while it was not indicated on the menu it was extra and the croque had only cheeze, no ham. Side salad had no vinaigrette. Overpriced (22$) for what I got.

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, compliments this down home feeling diner. Service was exceptionally quick when I visited for a late breakfast (so much so even my waitress was a little surprised). Would love to return to try the lunch/dinner menu.

I dont think I saw Nick here but the place was very busy during their lunch rush hour. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was in a bit of a hurry, but my server made sure that I could pay my bill in advance so that I wouldnt be late. The brunch menu offers your basic diner fare, and its just about what you would expect. I ordered the eggs Florentine with a cafe au lait. I was also offered an extra cup of filter coffee, and it was actually better than the more expensive cafe au lait. So I think I will be ordering the regular coffee here in the future.

Once a great Montreal establishment; now, simply a testament to horrific job safety and security. So dated, the carpets smell Over-priced, overworked staff and bland food. I suppose you need to cut back on just about everything to pay rent on Greene. Half their menu is frozen, the other half has no taste. ....this place survives solely on its old reputation. PS. The last time I reviewed this resto, I received a call from the manager, which consisted of him swearing at me until I finally hung up.

I have been coming here since I m a little kid. It s great, your classic one stop shop type of diner. The staff is also extremely friendly and very attentive. Everything is delicious, they have an extensive menu from amazing classic sandwiches and salads, to a wide selection from the grill and even a breakfast all day menu . Their soups of the day are also really delicious.

The place is super super basic I understand that the place been there for 100 years but the food is tasteless , I truly regret choosing this place for brunch and pay for it , the pancakes looks like its fresh out the freezer, tasteless. we send back one of the plate (french toast)because it was tasted bad .. the plate are too expensive for what they offer ... I DONT RECOMMENDED THAT PLACE AT ALLL , AVOID THE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!
