Ryu Westmount is an upscale sushi-ya restaurant commonly known for its skillful executions of both traditional and modern Japanese fare. The tasteful menu harmoniously balances with the restaurant’s contemporary design, evoking both comfort and elegance.
Got the set course and it was amazing and we left full! Everything was beautiful and delicious. The coconut mochi was surprisingly return worthy.
If you're a sushi lover and you're looking for a restaurant that offers fresh and delicious sushi, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The sushi here is some of the freshest and most flavorful that I've ever tasted. Each piece is crafted with care and precision, and the combination of flavors is simply exquisite. The service here is also very good, with friendly and attentive staff who are always willing to help and answer questions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also quite nice, with a modern and elegant decor that sets the tone for a great dining experience. However, the biggest downside of this restaurant is its price. The prices here are very high, and this is definitely not the place to go if you're on a budget. While the quality of the food and service is definitely top-notch, the prices can be a bit of a shock to the wallet. Overall, if you're willing to pay the high prices, this sushi restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
The ambiance and decor are really nice, vibe is good, staff are very friendly and attentive. The miso soup was quite salty and the tofu wasn’t soft. Not much to it so I would suggest to skip it. As well the seaweed salad was really boring, not much flavour or seaweed. It looked beautiful but the dressing was off or lacking some needed vinegar punch to balance the sour of the green papaya. Again I would suggest skip it and focus on the sushi. The sushi was excellent, but again I can only give 3 stars as they were out of tuna (or was being reserved for a special roll that we could not eat due to dietary restrictions). Overall I would say this was not great considering it’s quite pricier than other places. I will try again though…
One of our fave places to dine. Although on the pricier side, the food and ambiance are worth it. The staff is very friendly and professional. We had them pick for our table and we were very happy with the choices. Overall, we loved the makis, the sashimis and the truffle shiitake roll. Would come back and recommend.
A tad on the expensive side however the taste was worth everything. I highly recommend trying out their paradise sushi and sanzai sushi. Their sashimi platters are amazing as well.
very good nigiri sushi, hand made and shaped well, the ration between rice and fish is great as well. ingredients are fresh and they do have some seasonal and high end ingredients like bluefin and sea urchin. bit pricey but overall worth the money.
The sushi is absolutely amazing! The fish tastes so fresh and it just melts in your mouth. The atmosphere is very calm yet great music is playing in the background. Cocktails were delicious and fruity that it makes you feel like you're vacationing at the beach. And the dessert! This blueberry pie was outstanding, it's made by a Japanese baker just for Ryu. In terms of $ it is more on expensive side since you are paying per plate but if you are looking for a wonderful night for a special occasion or just want to treat yourself, I would definitely recommend going here.
My favorite sushi restaurant in Montreal! Bluefin tuna is sooooooo delicious and the Japanese sea urchin is like a dream! The price is very reasonable if you consider how fresh and premium the ingredients are. A lot of them are shipped from Japan every day. Service is also excellent. Better make a reservation as you can tell them the specific fish you like so that they can reserve for you

One of my favorite restaurant in town!
Very good, very fresh and great staff!
We came to celebrate a birthday with the Omakase tasting menu and were blown away! The space was stunning, the service kind and attentive, and the drinks were top notch--we each ordered a signature cocktail and then shared a bottle of Sake. But the star was the sushi! Each of the six courses presented a different preparation, and within each course there was notable variety. I was particularly taken with the sashimi and nagiri courses, just because the quality of the fish shone through every bite. The other courses showed creativity and innovation, and overall I have to say that the experience was several levels above what I have come to expect from a night out for sushi. The dessert was also delicious, with several types of mochi, red bean ice cream, and lava cake. I wholeheartedly recommend Ryu for special occasions, especially for those looking for a spot in the Westmount area.
Great food & service.
The omake is not very authentic because you have the waiters hand you the food when its suppose to be the chef. Maybe Ryu is following the new trend of omake without doing proper research. The whole experience about Omakase is having the chef handing each piece of food to you and explaining. It breaks the whole rythm when you have waiters handing you the food and explaining. The food was good but not special enough to pay over 300 for 2 people. If I pay 300 for 2 people Im assuming the food has to be exceptional and that the experience of omakse is authentic. People who have never experienced REAL omakase will say its great but I have had several authentic experiences and RYU is EXTREMELY SUB PAR.A LUXURIOUS RESTAURANT SHOULD HAVE HIGHER STANDARDS AND SHOW THAT THEY DID THE RESEARCH. This restaurant shows how Montreal has very mediocre Japanese and seafood restaurants.
Great food and service. Music a little loud. Great sake suggestion. If you are a group, choose omakase
Service is good, food is good, ambiance is good, noise level is ok. BUT portions are really too small for the price we pay.
We tried the tasting menu and it was amazing - definitely not cheap, but well worth the experience!
Sublime food, beautifully presented. We had the Chefs taster menu, which I can highly recommend. The Shirley Temple cocktail rivals the best of any alcoholic cocktail . Wines carefully curated so a really good, if limited choice available. Four stars for Service as we were forgotten at the end and had to hunt someone down to get our mint tea. A meal to remember
Im quite conflicted about this since the food is worth it but not the rest.. we took the Omakase service for two and one of the cheaper bottles. cost me around 400$ for two. the food was awesome, fresh, interesting, and creative. super well presented and executed. the issue for me was more about the ambiance and the level of service for this price point. the reservations are not real reservations. They just offer you whatever table when you arrive, not even great ones. the staff are kind but are dressed more casualy. no special touch... sadly, they completely miss that touch that would make such an experience worth the price, and that would not cost them that much. Sadly... the ambiance is also not great. the decor is amazing, but thats it. the music was way too fast pasted and loud for a dégustation it was probably some house lounge type of music. i would expect something way way more relaxed. the music made me feel that it was rushing me to eat. So if you have so much money and are just going for the food. this will be great for you. but for anyone that is financially normal going there for a special occasion, this might not be for a good place for an enjoyable evening. i hope the restaurant will improve, but i cant afford to take another chance. sorry and good luck
Excellent sushi, incredible service, decor and atmosphere that is both zen and warm
Amazing food and service. Dimitri is one of the best bartenders in town!
Food was pretty good; they offer torched sushi thats tasty. Fish tasted fresh. I did find the rolls with the quinoa topping a little off putting. While it was crunchy and some points, other bits are hard and just get jammed in your teeth instead. The service on the other hand was a huge miss. I dont think Ive ever received so much sass from our waitress in my life!! We all have bad days but I dont think taking it out on your customers when they are asking simple questions about the menu is the way to go. The decor was nice. We had a booth seat and I found the couch part to be a little low and uncomfortable. Music was super loud and bass-y which made it difficult to hold a conversation with your friends at the table. I would return maybe in the future but there are better spots out there in the city.
No take-out service on Saturday, no take-out service for two weeks because they no longer had a box, but the icing on Sunday, last time they couldnt make me avocado maki from afraid of running out for the other sushi during the evening! First come first served, you will tell the last customers that you no longer have an avocado, or you will look for more at the supermarket; But having an order over $100 canceled because you want to keep your avocados for the rest of the evening is the world turned upside down. If I were the boss, Id kick one out and Im still polite.
Ryu never misses.
Over priced but very nice ambiance!
Incroyablement savoureux !
Great service, attention to detail, great ambiance, and great quality of higher end sushi!
One of my faves! Love eating on location and takeout also a great option during Covid.
Really good food, ambiance and service
Positive point: the decor of the restaurant is modern and the staff is friendly. On the other hand, at this price, the food is a scandal. The tuna tartare consisted of 4 thick slices on a sea of ice cubes. Then I had the salmon sushi with truffle oil expecting an explosion of flavors. Nothing, it was bland, I didnt even ask if there was truffle oil in it. Not complicated, we paid the $150 + taxes for 2 people and we stopped the meal after this massacre to finish the meal and the evening in another restaurant further away on rue Ste Catherine. Oh, Im not even talking about the $25 Moscow mule cocktail served in a glass of water. Lets move on...
Absolutely fresh
Not enough value to price in my opinion.
The meal was good, only we were in work clothes, jeans t-shirt nothing bad clean just not new, and immediately we were under pressure to leave as quickly as possible. I imagine that paying two meals $100+taxes+tips is not enough for Westmount? We are not there customers sought? Sad
Very good food and service. The drink was nice and really tasted the alcool which can be rare. The restaurant looks beautiful and it is nice that you can see the cooks make the sushi at the bar. We will be back.
I went there for my party, it was the first time I set foot in this establishment. I took the Omakase menu, the famous tasting menu and I was not disappointed by the originality of the dishes. Small downside regarding the dessert, the portion of which was a little small. The rest is worth the detour. We will go back without hesitation.
For me, this is the best Japanese restaurant in Montreal by far
Attentive service, quality food and very pleasant presentation. On the other hand, I found it a little disappointing not to have a quick option below 18% tip. I didnt intend to give less but I didnt like feeling like I was being forced to.
This is definitely one of the best authentic japanese restaurant in the city, although pricier than the other fantastic ones I tried before. The servers are very professional and friendly. Almost all our orders hit the spot, aside from the hamachi sushi in the sushi platter. i think it was not that fresh as it has a fishy aftertaste. Also when we reserved a table, we said it was my bday (because it was!). but there was no extra gesture that was given. I didnt want to expect, but they asked of there is an occasion and with other expensive restaurant, they will give you something extra like a special note to celebrate your day.
Ryu has to be one of the gold standars for Sushi in Montreal. What I really liked about the Ste-Catherine st. location apart from the great sushi is the ambiance, its a relaxed ambiance, their other locations seem to be more lively . Had some wonderful sushi, salmon, shrimp, tuna, all very fresh. Drinks were nice and strong, try the margarita. The service was super attentive and welcoming
We were visiting town and decided to try this place. We were dining with our kids and they made us feel very comfortable. The service was excellent and food was amazing. (We did the omakase experience) Chef Michael is very talented and we will be back when we come back to Montreal.
Brought my cousin for her birthday and got the omakase experience, it was delicious and the decor was beautiful
Great food and service!
The best place for sushi and drinks ! We had the omakase WOW What can we say about sashimi, nigiri and sushi!!! Amazing. The service is truly impeccable! 5/5 Well done
Its fascinating to watch them make the delicious sushi treasures. Helpful and timely service.
The sushi comes with a price tag that matches the distance the raw fish must travel from Japan. They don t do traditional tempura ( fried ).Nothing is fried here. Miso @ $6 a bowl. An experience to savor the decor and appreciate the service though my preference is a traditional choice with a lesser price tag on the cuisine.
Not the best experience, but I will be fair: Food 4/5 - good, not mind blowing. Value 2/5 - for these prices, the ratio of fish to rice has to be adjusted. We spent $200 (tax + tip included) no alcohol, on 20 pcs of sushi. Granted, our selections included an order of O-toro and of Amberjack, but value is not a strong point here, esp if the fish is sliced too thinly. The taste of each bite is also affected, to become rice dominant. Looking at picture of other reviews, perhaps the chef was running out of ingredients. Service 2/5 - our waitress was polite and mostly attentive, but it took 40 min to receive 2 maki rolls, and an hour to receive 10pcs of nigiri. We were supposed to start with this and continue with more food, but after the delay we had no interest in waiting any longer. They prioritized Uber eats orders, which was somewhat frustrating. They also seemed to prioritize a larger table near us. If you re short staffed, advise of extended times in advance so that we can decide if we re staying or going elsewhere. Ambiance 3/5 - it s a nice space with good soft lighting, but the music a little too loud, and it was a bit cold with a draft. Not ideal on a wet October evening.
Go to a sushi shop, at least youll get what you pay for. Toilet rooms. Front door open giving way to a mosquito festival. The waitress picks up your plate before youve even finished. AVOID!
Friday wedding anniversary dinner was canceled on us on Friday. Not happy.
I always walk by the restaurant around 6 pm and its always empty and figured its just early. however I went to eat there the other day and I understand why its empty. It is so expensive and half the sushi were roaling in my mouth becaude they didnt taste fresh. The bill was 139.50$ For two and we didnt get any drinks just regular water. You can get way better sushi on notre-dame for way cheaper. We also asked for Soya paper and they charged us 9$ extra without advising us. Therefor it was a not pleasent suprised when the invoice arrived. Yes the restaurant looks nice but we want to feel satisfied when eat at that price. Will not recommande.
Always a great time, the food is great and the service is amazing.
Always fresh and high quality. I dont think theres better sushi in the city.
Best sushi
Excellent service, fresh and beautiful dishes. An explosion of flavors and a guaranteed trip. Thanks to the entire Ryu team.
Everything was fresh and delicious. Staff super friendly and service was great.
Amazing service, impeccable food! Would definitely come back
I loved this restaurant!!! The decor is beautiful and the food tastes heavenly! Very good service too. I recommend it to everyone!!!! :)
Best sushi in town! Super fresh, delicate and tasty! Always my go to option for sushi
Amazing service, delicious and fresh food! Even the drinks were stunning. 10/10 will go again.
Great experience!
The food is amazing , great selection of fine fish. Why I give 3 stars was the very slow service. It seems they are missing staff and make the experience very unpleasant. I hope they get better but for our next trip to Ryu we will choose the peel location which has always been excellent at every visit.
Delicious fish. Some fish come from Japan. Try the Hokkaido no uni (sea urchin from Hokkaido). Exquisite!
A very nice place Friendly staff Amazing food and taste Big portions
The place for excellent sushi of very good quality
The best!
Friendly service, great food, good vibes
Delicious and insanely fresh! Service was amazing as well.
Great service and great dining experience. Above all, the food was amazing.
Great service, fresh ingredients, high quality fish. Very flavourful makis and plates
Exceptional sushi!!!!! Their superior quality of drinks, their staff who are always attentive to your needs make this restaurant one of the best in town
I have tasted sushi in my life and on several continents... I affirm without hesitation that Ryus products are exquisite and borderline divine!!! Honestly, it s a pleasure. See you soon.
Great food, awesome staff and nice atmosphere
We had a very bad experience with the manager, and that is the reason of the 1-star rating. Everybody else, including our waitress, provided excellent customer service. We arrived to the restaurant on a Tuesday night more than 1 hour before closure. There were several tables available inside and in the outdoor terrace. When we entered, the manager approached us. He asked us if we had a reservation, we said no. He took his tablet, did some clicks and then informed us that all tables were taken, and that without a reservation we couldnt stay. We were a bit surprised, but we understood and as we were leaving, I asked what about the available outdoor tables, he said again that all were taken. As soon as we exit the restaurant, it was obvious to us that whatever the reason was that we were not welcome at the restaurant, it was probably not related to availability. I took my mobile, went to the opentable reservation website, and surprise, the restaurant was full of availabilities. I reserved a table for 2 for the next available time (which was in 5 min) and waited. We came back in, he approached us again (not sure if he recognized us at first) and I said we have a reservation for two. He took his tablet, he said yes indeed, and we got our table. At this point he probably recognized we were the same people he had just said no. There could be many reasons for what happened, but definitely it was a very unprofessional behavior from the manager. Lying or using such a weak excuse does not make sense. It was obvious that availability was not an issue, and I would rather being told something else that a dumb lie. We are good and easy-going restaurant customers so the loss is for the restaurant. Food was ok (not exceptional) and in general overpriced for what you get. Not sure if worth the money. Good selection of wines. We would definitely not be going back, mainly due to the bad experience with the manager.
Great service. Trendy sushi spot. And the omakaze menu was absolutely delicious
Ryu is always a wonderful experience. The sushi is top notch (the best in Montreal in my opinion) and the ambience is perfect for a romantic night out! This goes for the Westmount and Griffintown locations, Ive not yet been to the Peel location!
Amazing place to eat super fresh sushis. We had an amazing service by Chau. We gave him a list of ingredients we are intolerant to and he gave us his suggestions to compose a perfect personalized menu. Also, very fast service. Thanks also to chef Michael who served us a special menu the first time we went.
Fresh. Beautiful. Delicious. A definite must for sushi lovers. Their Ora King salmon is simply outstanding!
Amazing sushi, friendly staff, good prices.
Delicious! The tuna pizza, scallop ceviche were so delicious! Everything else was just right
Best sushi (non-vegan) in Montreal for me. Despite a very high bill for a sushi, everything is good and you can feel the freshness of their products. I recommend
Favourite sushi place in westmount.
We really enjoyed the whole omakase experience. The food was beautifully presented and Im so glad we got the chance to taste their sustainable bluefin as well as their surf n wagyu makis! Both excellent. Thank you Ryu - we will be back soon.
Very tasty but very expensive compared to other tasty sushi restaurants
Not to be mistaken buy any means with an all you can eat. Best to save Ryu for a date.
I loved my first meal at Ryu (Westmount), and the Miso soup, paradise Maki, sustainable tuna Maki, 6 piece nigiri and 12 piece sashimi sets (shared), followed by a blueberry and matcha tart were a treat. Service was impeccable and it felt safe eating inside with all COVID-19 rules respected. Decor is very Japanese Zen. Quite authentic (I am fortunate enough to have visited Japan dozens of times). Light tones - wooden panels. It would have been a five star experience had it not been for the repeat visit of the hamachi in both Nigiri and Sashimi form... a momentary lapse of reason on the chefs part? Or maybe a good intention? It is a great fish! However, I would have preferred more variety rather than visiting the same product in two forms, especially since the Nigiri 6 piece set is already three pairs. Obviously, four stars is still an awesome experience! I do recommend you visit Ryu and see for yourself!!!
An excellent sushi restaurant. They are good and varied with ingredients that are rarely found outside of Japan for some (I am thinking in particular of unagi). The servers provide excellent service. The decoration is very chic. Be careful though, its luxurious, dont expect to get away with it for $20.
Ordered take away for the first time from this Westmount location. It wasn t as fresh and good as the downtown location. Wouldn t order here again.
Great sushi and service, cozy place.
Very nice experience!
Very good and fresh. Impeccable service, very aesthetic decor and good advice on choosing. We had a large platter of sashimi and makis. Maybe a little expensive, but can you really get good sushi at a lower price in Mtl?
Nice ambiance and service. Playing nice lounge music and excellent makis on the menu.
Excellent food and service
Great ambience and tasty sushi.
Too expensive for what they offer on the menu.
Way too expensive for the quality and taste. Service terrible, unsanitary bartender uses her bare hands to grab ice in buckets to make cocktails. Display of restaurant terrible unless you are a party of 4 and more youll be sitting at the bar. First section of bar has 6 seats litteraly in front of door when its -10 outside Other 6 seats your sitting in front of sink and coffee machine very noisy. Do not recommend 200$ with taxes for sushi and no alcohol.
Delicious!
Nice atmosphere, great staff, terrific sushi!
Taste is good, torched salmon is good and i like the ambiance but be ready to pickup food on the way home. prices charged here should somehow reflect what you eat. 1) we spent about 180$ and we left hungry. It was the smallest rolls we ve seen. They serve hosomakis size and charges makis. 2) they charge you big bucks on wagyu and chutoro sushi but the meat is so thin. The wagyu and the chutoro has some muscle/ connective tissue, not expecting this on sushi, it means im getting the less stellar pieces. And I ve had so much chutoro/otoro around the world. On a piece of steak, yes i would expect muscles but not on a sushi. I had to ask the waiter for a toothpick to get rid of muscles stuck in my teeth. 3) the sashimi appetizer is a mini appetizer. I probably had 25g of fish there At the end of the meal, the manager came to ask how was it, I told him the wagyu has some muscle/connective tissue and the chutoro on the sushi is so thin, not what i am used to. He looked at my bill twice, looked at what we ordered and I had the impression he wanted to do something for me but didnt offer me anything at the end. He said he likes to take comments and that next time will be better. There will not be next time.
Excellent sushis and nice atmosphere. A bit pricey for the portions. Expect 60$ pp food only.
Sushi very good. Atmosphere great. Service nice Took one hour to get sushi which was crazy. Other than the wait 4 star.
Absolutely loved this place! RYU has the best sushi in Montreal, hands down! The staff was incredibly friendly, we got our food very quickly and the ambiance was absolutely stunning. I will definitely be coming back!
Amazing experience ! The sushi were very fresh and were prepared very nicely by the Chef Michael. On top of that, super friendly staff and great service by Chau! Didn t have to wait at all. Will definitely come back. Thanks for the experience !
If you are looking to find great sushi, Ryu is the place to be. Everything is fresh and delicious! The staff are also super nice! I would highly recommend going to Ryu!
Very good sushi restaurant Very good quality of fish and the tuna is excellent
This place used to be my favourite before the team change. The food is really good but unfortunately the team working there are not as good. All they want is to push you to get the Specials that some costs 40$ for 4 pieces. And if you have other preference they dont like it. Like I chose Kamikaze and they guy there told me you can have this anywhere and its not something special, you should better choose something special (not a suggestion, more of an order). I went there again and the same thing happened. Even though I really like the food there but I wont go back again since I dont like to be told what to eat.
Overrated because some of the maki were good while others not. Ryu rainbow maki had some salmon that didnt taste fresh else I would probably rate it higher. Surf and turf maki was to expensive at 35$ for what it is. Maki are smaller then normal.
Decided to give it a try being so highly rated . Sushi was very fresh . But most items ordered bland in taste . The scallop Maki was made with a substitute white fish ,not cool. Service was extremely slow and inattentive . Stay was close to 2 hours and bill came to 115.00 for not a lot of sushi , granted quality doesnt come cheap but at a 115.00 Montréal is blessed with many better places .
Very authentic possibly the best I have ever had. Very expensive
Amazing service with spectacular food!
Excellent food. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Totally recommend it to visit.
Fantasic Place. Real Gem of Montreal. World class standard. Definitely a must on all fronts: food, decor, service. A real 5-star experience
Good selection. Fresh fish
Way too overpriced for what it is. I love the downtown Ryu Sushi but this location was hugely dissapointing.
Amazing experience ! Fresh, delicious and beautifully presented sashimi and rolls. Service by Chau and Chef Michael was friendly and efficient. They both made sure we were very well taken care of. Thoroughly appreciated my experience at Ryu and will definitely be coming back soon !
We were excited by the quality of the sushi after our first visit and compared it to our benchmark: Saiko Izakaya on Beaver Hall Hill. A repeat visit was not as impressive, however, possibly because the serious young head chef/manager had moved to another location. We tried a nigiri platter last night on the enthusiastic recommendation of the waiter but were disappointed by the skimpy portions, more nibbles than satisfying bites. A la carte nigiri were better except for the unagi which was no more than half the size expected. The quality of the fish is still better than in most places in Montreal.
Very delicious and great atmosphere.
Ryú is a really great sushi joint in Westmount Square, right off Greene Ave. The food is really high quality, with a similarly high price tag attached, but Id say that its worth it. Most of the fish available is sustainably sourced, and their daily specials are creative and delicious. Highly recommended.
great sushi selection and good area , nice design , the downside was the waiter was arrogant when we asked about the selection of the imported fish from japan and replied oh well i can tell you many but you will not understand any .. and its very expensive
Exceptional.
Amazing sushi, great atmosphere and good service. What more can one ask for!
Very good food, ambiance is chic, enjoyable
Tried the vegetarian options, not bad.
Loved the veggie poke bowl!
Great food and service
Very good sushi!
Tasting menu was amazing! Service was impeccable
Just enjoyed a lovely meal. All food high quality, especially the steak. Very attentive staff. Will be back.
Good environment, high quality food, excellent service , but waiting time is too long for more than 30 min.
Really lovely atmosphere (we sat on the terrace but the interior looked very beautiful), really attentive and warm service, excellent sushi (by Montreal standards: Im not blaming the restaurant, but I think the fish just cannot be as fresh in MTL as at comparable restaurants in Vancouver) and high-but-reasonable prices. I have been here twice and had the Omakase which was great. Would totally recommend and will definitely go back again. A very high quality place.
Luxry, fancy and fresh but costly
Excellent!!!
Amazing place, Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing service! Thank you to Lorenzo and Charlie for the great time.
Was looking for a sushi place with sustainable fish and we found that one! I was very impressed with the different types sustainable fish they had (not everything was so we didn t eat from all the fish) but the salmon was BIO which is even more impressive! Food was very good! They also compost leftovers and chopsticks in their other locations. Overall for someone who was only eating vegie sushis Im glad i found a place where i can eat the fish as well! Will definitely be our regular sushi place from now on!
Fine
Best high class sushi in town. Only problem WORST SERVICE EVER!
most amazing sushi ive had here in montreal! get the sashimi platter.
Very good poke bowl and sushi. The quality of the ingredients is excellent and everything is fresh. Really good. Service so cold that you fear catching a cold. Final cost of the bill quite high, the prices being expensive for the quantity served. $12 for a beer (a Sapporo at that!) is a joke. The bill adds up very quickly. Damage.
Best sushi ever with great staff!!! Beverage director was awesome!!
Good sushi and sashimi are not about the freshness of the fish, but about how the fresh fish was properly aged. This place has gotten it right.
Service so bad doesn t deserve a review.
Good high-end sushi place. Similar experience to a restaurant like Jun I, but prices significantly higher, which seems unjustified. Some fish are uniquely offered here. Sashimis and specialty makis were great. Nigiris had too much wasabi for my tastes -I wish they asked before putting it in every morsel.
Beautiful place and great meal
Sushi reminded me of the freshness in Japan. Very nice decor and Wagyu seems legit
The quality and preparation of the sushi is in my opinion outstanding. Highly recommend for families or groups of people.
Fantastic sushi and ambience, just a tad expensive.
Sushis: very good and fresh.. but OVERPRICED.. it s completely normal to pay more than at an average sushi restaurant.. however, at Ryu the prices are easily 50% higher than other high quality sushi restaurants in the same area. I think if the prices were cut by 20%, it would be more reasonable. To give u an idea .. I paid 75$ for a small miso soup, 2 good rolls (total of 12 medium pieces) and 8 excellent Nigiris! Don t forget to add the tip for the service, which was ok.
A truly authentic Sushi restaurant in Westmount. Sit at the sushi bar and let Mike take care of you with his creations; you won t be disappointed. Great ambiance, staff and the best sushi by far in Montreal.
Great sushi! Amazing service
