Chinese and sushi Buffet restaurant Over 100+ items fresh make sushi and Roll
Not what it used to be for sure. Went there at dinner hour one afternoon. They were totally sluggish about replenishing what was on the buffet.Wondering if they have staffing in the kitchen? Just about every type of dish I sampled was at best substandard and at worst outright disgusting. I'm not a overly objective nit picker,I know you're not going to get gourmet perfection at an all you can eat buffet. I get that. But this place used to be a go to many years ago (pre fire). It was outstanding back in the day. But today, based on my visit, what they are serving up is disappointment. I thought it kinda funny how empty the whole place was given it was dinner hour and that should have been my first tip off. I sense this operations days are numbered. That's an awful big place to staff and keep the lights on and not draw crowds.
me and my mom used to go to this place all the time when i was younger, but nowadays, it's just not the same. most of the food/dessert is seemingly bought from a store, the sushi bar is closed, and the sushi is clearly grocery store sushi served in the tray it was bought in. i have a feeling it was hit hard during the pandemic, which makes me so sad because it genuinely was a great place to eat out during the 2010s. i really hope it can shine once again.
Staff was great, no problems there. Everything else was really bad. There was not one thing fresh or tasty. I understand things a tough right now but if you're using low quality everything then make up for in other ways. Worst buffet I have ever eaten at. I've had complimentary continental breakfast at hotels that were toast, cereal and bagels that was 100%. Another place I will not return.
My experience awesome. Ther service excellent. The young lady was on top of things - dishes out of the way and making sure we enjoyed our plates. They can't really help their atmosphere, they face a parking lot. The music is nice and pleasant. The price is reasonable for the amount of food and comparable to many other restaurants. I recommend this place.
Very deep impression of service attitude, sincerely smiling with greetings, I don’t know hers name but thank you for service😄 For the dishes, diverse food and flavors provided, vegetables, fish, shrimp, fried rice, soup, fruit, snacks, etc. The price is reasonable, worthy to have a sit here and enjoy the meal.🍴🍱
I was so disappointed I almost passed out. I used to come here with my family all the time but the only thing that stayed the same is the name. The food was flavourless and greasy. There was barely any options for food and only two options for dessert. One of them was tiny gross stale grocery store cupcakes. The salad was full of the bitter lettuce butts. Save your money and your stomach, don’t eat here.
It’s not bad for what it is. I’m on vacation right now with my boyfriend and we figured we would try this place out. It wasn’t the worst, for a buffet at least. I got plenty of food which was good, but I feel like their options were just a bit too limited, and I feel like they could’ve had more. Other than that though, it wasn’t too bad!
The second-best Chinese buffet in Windsor, with Mandarin being the first option. It offers a good variety of dinner options, including delicious shrimp skewers had about 50 of them! They have a wide selection of shrimp dishes prepared in various ways. Lots of meat varieties as well. However, I'd recommend skipping the sushi and pizza as they don't get refreshed as often and can be dry. The dessert selection is simple, with ice cream, cakes, and fruit. This buffet is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to experience a Chinese buffet, and it's reasonably priced at around $26 for Weekend dinner.
Bland and everything was dried out and old.
They pee in the wonton soup
this should be inspected by health inspectors. everything has a film on it. completely disgusting
Delicious food and great service
Used to be better food there. Most of the time it s cold and not a lot of choices as it used to be before the covid
The food was fresh and delicious!! The service was excellent
Had a good feed overall... Food is ok for the most part... There are always a few things that arent as good in a buffet, but most things were fine
There wasnt a lot of people there but the food was good and the place is spacious.
A whole year has passed since i first left my review, since then hundreds more bad reviews indicating all the same terrible experiences, and yet still maintaining that 3.4 rating, something is wrong with googles math, the hundreds more bad reviews received should have brought this down to a 1.2ish. Google fix your rating algorithm to show people the truth about this dump. Litterally 90% bad reviews in past year, as per the last year of reviews there was 0 improvement to any issues i highlighted over a year ago. This place is a DANGER to your health! 99% bad reviews in the last 8 months but still maintaining a 3.4 rating. Someone call the health unit already and report this place so it gets shut down as it should and stop making people sick. And call police to have owners arrested for fraud as they are defrauding their customers. You can survive for 40 days in the desert no food or water, there is absolutely NO reasons to go to this establishment and give them your hard earned money for the same food you can get for free from any other restaurants dumpsters. 0 STARS , 5 Bio-hazard symbols! The people who left good reviews for this place, also described burger kings whopper Wednesday as 5 star dining, trust the other 99% who already lost their money. How does this place maintain a 3.4 with 90% bad reviews/experiences? Food was terrible, stale dried out and taste bad, and will most likely make you sick, the place was not clean. Pork rib was definitely expired, had to spit it out it was so bad, Chicken skewers tastes like they were sitting out since last week, Shrimp skewers were so fishy i could not eat them, Sushi had dried out stale rice, All the soups had about 1 thick scum solidified on top of them so didnt even try them. Noodles tasted old and re-heated several times. Deserts, brownies stale and old, Ice cream tasted off and sour, Would never go back here again, already feeling sick and its only been 10 minutes. On the way out the door the owner said something like hope you like everything, today is not busy, if you come back tomorrow we make new food so i think he just confirmed that they are serving old nasty food. Tried to overcharge me, still almost 90$ for the worst meal ever, now i have to go vomit and find something else to feed my family. Vegetarian options: Not suitable for vegetarians, pork dumplings labelled as vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Not suitable, you may die if you go here.
The food is served hot and fresh. It has become a little overpriced for the type of food offered. The service however was good.
The food was not good, since new management it definitely went downhill. Not impressed. It use to be so good. Wont be going back.
Good food. Maybe because we were early a couple dishes were not hot.
The restaurant was clean, the staff was very polite, professional, and prompt. And the food was very good. An all around great experience Parking: Parking in front with plenty of spaces.
The variety of food was similar to before, but I was surprised that the price had risen significantly.
Dont waste your money . I cant believe what has happened to this place . Growing up in Windsor this place was hoping every night of the week, noe its anything but not busy enough so the food sits and everything is just horrible definitely not worth $29.99 a person more like $20 for what it is
Superb service! Great choice of food! Fresh too! Parking: Great area for free parking Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance
Just really gross
Gone in on a Wednesday 7 people in there at 5:00, food was very dry and over cooked, and the girl that work there smell of B.O. going to tacobelle would be cheaper and taster
Food was very gross not much to choose from out of salad and desserts seem like the food was not made right and was very cheaply done when you re paying well over $100 for your family to go out it s not worth it The atmosphere was awful one guy sitting at the counter when you first come in like he just stares at you and I don t think he ever moves. The table was all sticky. The floor is all sticky. Nothing you touched in there wasnt sticky not sure if they re cleaning with just dish soap or what but could not wait to get out
This used to be my go to for chinese, being from London I was at first excited, boy what a disappointment!! Horrible food, horrible service and dirty. The food was dried out and trays empty, dusty dirty Christmas decorations in July, service horrible! Couldnt even eat the food it was so bad, dry mushy and old! Never never would I give this place my money! If I could give less than 1 star I would have. Dont waste your money only to get food poisoning, spend a bit extra and enjoy your meal elsewhere.
Sushma was excellent service. Great food
Always a pleasure good food, service and atmosphere Im a regular
Should have eaten at a morgue. Would have been more lively and probably fresher.
There is no longer the same variety of dishes as before.
Terrible experience, dirty, food cold and old spent 108.00,Thursday at 430pm and left and complained, terrible service no manager provided, will never go back stick the food where the sun dont shine !!!!!!
Avoid at all costs!! The new post-COVID Ming Wah is horrible! The food is disgusting. Some was dry, some greasy, one dish tasted like cleaner, etc. On top of the gross food, the whole experience was awful and we will never go back. The 2 waiters were didnt even look like they worked there. One was in jeans, t-shirt and running shoes and the other was wearing jeans, work boots and a hoodie and when he leaned over to pour water, his hoodie string went into my daughters drink. They both stood about 6 feet from our table speaking to each other in their own language (NOT Chinese) while staring at us as we ate. Not one word or smile the entire time we were there. You couldnt pay me to eat at this place again. Save your money.
Always a lack luster performance. Food is very limited and sits under the heat lamps. Everything is like eating day old chinese food at home. Bathrooms smell like subway stalls at best. Its too bad but this restaurant has potential to be good if not great.
The food was cold and not being refilled very quickly. One bar was not open so not enough choices. No pineapple rings. Asked for more salad to be put out and it was not refilled. Very limited dessert 4 types of sheet cake, 3 types of jello and 4 tubs of ice cream. No cookies, no pastries, no pie, no cheesecake. Atmosphere very dated old Christmas garland as decorations Won t be returning.
Got food from here last night and wife and I and we got sick after eating from both ends never eat here again it was delivered
Taste like its been sitting out for days, felt sick, couldnt even finish a plate
Horrid in all areas of review .
Sometimes seeing a beutiful smile from a friendly server makes all the difference.
Good food great service, the waitress was very friendly
Staff was super friendly, food was fresh and hot. Great place to eat thanks again!
Amazing food SERVER WAS AMAZING THANK YOU SO MUCH SUSHMA !!!!!!
really delicious wonton soup
Food is horrible not fresh dry no taste not even in the ice cream. Staff was nice though. Not a lot of food options.
Gross. Stale food, greasy and cold. We wont be back. Ever. Forever ever.
so sad to see what this place has become..before Covid we went here several times. Now its just a sad place... food selection bad, the place is empty when I checked it out, so it makes you wonder how old the food is then. The sushi selection looked horrible, like 3 very poor looking little pieces, desert section very bad. Hope they fix this place up and make it good again. I didnt eat there this time, because its pretty obvious you shouldnt as soon as you walk in... such a bummer
So officially theyre charging $19 per pound of food, foods not that great and sits there all day. I think there going under and squeezing every last dime they can from their customers. I try to cancel my order for takeout and he refused because I already put it in the container I didnt want to be a Karen so I just took the L
Really unfortunate what has happened to this place. Cold food, rice was crunchy, poopy shrimp. Witnessed other customers complain and leave. Don t recommend.
For a Saturday diner, the restaurant was nearly empty. We were a group of 12 persons. Trays at sushi section were limited with only 12 or so pieces each. They didnt restock or asked us if we wanted more. The rest had some empty trays which didnt get restocked during our entire stay. We made due with what was there. But for the price, nearly 30$ per adult, it was some what disappointing. Maybe we were there too early (6:30pm) ?
The food was decent but slightly overpriced for the quality. I did notice a fruitfly at the bottom of my pop after I almost finished it.
May 12/ 2024 Mothers Day. We just left there. You think the busiest day of the year for restautants the owner would want to put out alot of good food right? This was the exact opposite. The food was not good and very little of it. Customers standing around in dismay looking at one another looking for food but many of the tray pans were empty or very little inside. Really cheap food as well.Very run down inside dirty carpets. All around very unorganized. Low budget Mothers Day buffet. Not worth the money. I do not recommend this place.
Plenty of seating , good variety of selections, the Food is average Ive had better and also had worse. But if your looking to fill your belly you cant go wrong .
I used to love this place! So this bums me out but here we go. The prices have gotten absurd, for 2 adults & 2 children (3 & 5) we paid 108$ for dinner. This included the buffet for 2 adults, one child, a toddler & one pitcher of pop. Mind you our kids hardly ate 2 bites off their half filled plate, & they took away the option for individual plates . So you HAVE to pay for the endless buffet option no matter what. We were sat at our table & not given a menu of any kind, simply told us to enjoy our meal. Everything in the bathrooms were broken and not cleaned, so that was an experience & a half trying to navigate with my toddler Now let s get to the best part. Once we get to the counter to pay, that s when we figure out our bill is 108$. Obviously shocked we expressed our disappointment, paid & left. Well the next day we realize the owner of the restaurant (who cashed us out) went & tipped herself an extra 20$ without asking us/us asking to tip her. She also gave us our bill & not our receipt when we left after paying so this should have been a red flag but we thought nothing of it at the time. so now we re LIVID, and we called the store & this same lady (the owner) told us to just mention it to her next time we come in and she will take it off our next bill. Avoid this restaurant at all costs is my advice.
Ordered chicken soo guy combo (supposed to come with fried rice, egg roll and soup) and instead received a giant portion of chop suey and white rice...
The food was there out for a long time before I got there. Not much to choose from. Much different then previous years. The owner said they were new and that was clear. Poor service as well.
went today for lunch ..not one person at the buffet..that should have been my red flag.honestly the food was terrible, everything!so disappointed
Almost all workers I ran into had absolutely no idea what was being displayed, cooked or served and all of the food was mislabeled. This is a big no no because I have allergies and I also cannot eat pork but the sweet and sour pork was labelled as chicken and I had to double check with servers, they had no clue this was even happening and after I notified them they didnt even bother correcting or switching the labels. If you have certain eating restrictions, allergies or have to avoid eating specific foods and meats I highly recommend rechecking what you put on your plate and double checking with the chefs because the other employees wont be able to help you. Never had this experience until recently and Im a bit disgusted.
Ive been going here for 30 years . Never have I ever disrespect like that . Me and my wife took are 5 children out . They gave us problems cause they didnt wanna sit us on the other side cause they werent even busy . Told are 2 , 3 , 4 child to be quite cause they other customers but yet not that busy . And I didnt eat cause I was pissed . Then the owner was cutting his eyes at me and wife while they were eating . Even other customers were asking my wife why the owner did that .... how you gonna do that to customers that pay well over 100.00-140.00 when all 7 of us eat ... never again just lost a loyal customer. Anyone with little ones that scream dont come the owner will tell them to be quite
I was in there today and wasnt happy at all the food was terrible $35 oh my gosh the food looked gross,I dont think I will be going back ,the place was empty I wonder why .
Came here with my family and I was quite disappointed with the service and the food quality. I felt very nauseous and sick after eating. The food was oiled down like I ve never seen before. Unreasonably priced for how much food they had. Overall bad experience and will not be coming back.
We stopped here on a Thursday evening 6 pm est.. there were about 6 tables, the 1 waitress dressed in jeans and a t-shirt showed us to a table, (polite girl). First all the dishes are nasty melamine, The salad bar was pitiful, no ranch, no bacon bits, no deviled eggs, no beets, The hot food was cold and dried out. The wonton soup was all noodle. Desserts were laughable. The overall of this place has gone down dramatically. AND for the price, not worth it at all.. Parking: There are a lot of other restaurants in the city to choose from. stay away from this dump...
Food is delicious. The service is great, but the only thing I didnt like is the steam broccoli they had with the park. It was a little dry. I didnt like it. My family loved the food. And we would love to go back there again if youre asking me for my opinion. Its the best opinion to ever have. I will remind you to go to this restaurant. And its pretty cheap and it has very great food. Very great, delicious food and very traditional.
Its has a large selection of Canadian and Chinese foods. The food is better than it used to be. I still like going on occasion with my friends.
More than half of items were cold. Chicken wings were cold told management they took it away only to deep fry again then the chicken was gravely over done. Very disappointed never go back do not recommend.
Our party reserved a party of about 100 people, understanding it was a large party, you figured they ould have been prepared with the food. But they were always out of food and long waits for replenishments. They have gone down hill slowly. I hope they can turn it around. It used to be great going there.
very delicious food ans praiseworthy service
A very good Chinese food buffet with specious cafeteria, delicious food and good price.
Actually had to spit several things into a napkin, I don t remember the last time I ve had to do that at a restaurant. Worst Chinese food ever. Despite the food coming out right as we arrived, a lot of it was dried out and some things even cold in the middle. The meat is clearly cooked days before serving. The food tastes old, dry, and overcooked. Food is unseasoned. Even the soy sauce tastes weird. The restaurant was basically empty at 5pm, now I know why. 0/10. Also according to other reviews, they don t tip their servers.
We recently stopped in at ming wahs,we have been supporting ming wahs for over twenty years. We were so disappointed, the food is blah no flavor,my favorite noodle dish had no flavor, wonton soup blah no green onions no more, food was warm, absolutely not what we are use to,the prices did go up,we stopped in for dinner it was meaty ocker to say the least 60+$ for what, our regular servers were gone. I was talking to hostess and learned that ming wahs is under new management, wish we would of known before we eat down. Expressed to hostess that the food had no taste, we were not offered discount or coupon to try ming wahs again. I did try a curry noodle dish ume at a chinese buffet, that was good but not worth 60$. Please be ware not worth what you pay, would not recommend ming wahs to my friends no more. You have lost our business, best of luck to you but if you continue to what we tried I dont see you being to successful. Was so disappointed for60+$ it was a waste of money. Please read reviews before you go to Ming wahs very disappointing.
I went there for lunch with my children. A lady (35-45+ years old) was hiding food from the buffet so that children cannot take it. She was shouting. I requested other staff to give a piece of cake for my daughter and it was very hard time for her to bring from that lady at the back/kitchen. It was a terrible experience. My wife was so upset that she didn t eat. Later, I asked a server who was the lady? The server replied that she was owner s wife. I have reported this matter to a person (male) of the restaurant over phone and he said he will discuss this matter with the owner and call me back. Unfortunately, never hear from them. That was the wort experience I have ever had in restaurant in Canada.
Food is horrible
Never coming back !! Food was freezing cold, everything was hard , and greasy ! They wouldnt do anything when we brought it to there attention madenus still pay for our meals
The service was great, but the food wasn t. I went there last night and everyone got food poisoning! The bathrooms were dirty and smelled terrible. I used to come here all the time but I m so disappointed!
It was a cozy, rainy evening. Little did we know that the comforting, gentle, soothing deluge would transition to an abominable, torrential outpouring of violent diarrhea in what seemed like only minutes after visiting Ming Wah Buffet. Every single silver cafeteria tray was a tepid and halfhearted 40 degrees celsius, not unlike a carton of milk forgotten on a countertop for a few hours in mid-July. Not quite sure if this reflects poorly on Ming Wah Buffet, or ourselves, since we passed over certain items for being particularly sketchy yet continued to eat, for some reason unbeknownst to both of us. I am now experiencing mild hallucinations from whatever it was I put into my body, the walls are gently shimmering, the calming downpour outside has been replaced by cacophonous timpani drums as I agonizingly regret my decision to eat here. Allegedly the womans bathroom had a total of three simultaneously out of order stalls, which is not only a powerful metaphor, but also makes you wonder who at the ministry of Ontario Food Health & Safety the proprietors of Ming Wah Buffet are bribing to continue operating. All in all, I just want to feel better.
Good food
Restaurant bathroom was disgusting, rust on every fixture, and crystallized piss on the walls from never being cleaned. Dollarama soap was watered down. Food was drier than dog food with less flavour. Short ribs were so dry and over boiled in syrup. All meat was the texture of a scab. They even messed up the jello. Orange slices were great though.
The food is old .greasy.expensive .never go Back again.
Would give 0 stars if I could. The food was gross and way overcooked. The staff have little to no manners. Also the staff has little to no personal hygiene. They dont wash their hands just use sanitizer. Also one of them leans against the grill with his butt leaning near where people grab their food. One of them actually scratched their privates with his hand fully in his pants and then didnt wash his hands. This all happened in the dining/food areas. Everyone I came with instantly felt sick after leaving here. I recommend people stay away from here as its a health violation waiting to happen.
Most food in buffet is from frozen. Not good quality frozen food either. They sat us down at a dirty/sticky table. Very low quality food. Like store brand frozen food. Best way to describe it.
Their website said the price of lunch on a weekday was $16.99, on the door it said $17.99 for lunch, but I was actually charged 21.99 before tax. Food and service not as good as it used to be.
Great customer service food was good
We need one in Chatham. I enjoy their food. Great selection of food.
Prices for the meal are too high especially for seniors $ 60.00 is terrible for a person that does not eat that much
!Delicious food and good prices¡ I recommend the place...
Food is old and dry. There is not a lot of options even.
This was the worst experience Ive had. This was my favorite place to before covid and now I will never go back The food was cold not cooked properly.Service wasnt very good either. Was very disappointed considering it was valitines day and took my girl friend out for dinner
We were greeted and then seat after we were we were basically left on our own I had to ask for drinks where the server was wearing blue gloves and cleaning up everything proceeded to go get drinks with the same gloves stuck his hands around pop drinks with the same gloves and were bringing them back to our table and I reminded him I said that was unsanitary could you please bring us drinks with proper way either new gloves or take off those cause you just had your hands around On the top of the drinks that you were bringing to us after you cleaned everything up washing the tables handling all the dirty dishes and clean in the floor he apologized and then wet and disposed got rid of the drink But the fact that he had his hands right up around the rim of the glass expected us to take These drinks was so amazing The server did bring us new drinks The food has changed from the way it was the atmosphere is totally different It would be an experience for you to have to experience on the food we would not go back were not a fan of it anymore sorry to say
A little different then before...
The previous owners were very attentive and they kept dirty from clean. Felt like we were being monitored by the staff and not quick to refill your water. Food has changed but similar to the past. Change it back to the old formula and then customers may stay.
It was a quiet Tuesday night. Just the way I like it.
Not good. Step it up. Used to be best all you can eat in town. Id say 50% of the food was gross the rest was edible at best the dessert area was basically nothing. Staff was what is expected. Polite and my water stayed full. Owners need to get this place back to where it once was.
Ming wah is fire frfr
Always has been my go to for buffets, the staff is always amazing and exceptional. They changed it a bit more which was confusing for the first time after not being there for a few years but the food is still amazing as always.
This place is exactly the same as when I left 30 years ago. Same buffet concept, very generous variety, good food, good service, Ideal for Chinese cuisine lovers and families !
DO Not Go To Ming Wah. It is officially, in our eyes ....a dump. To witness the disgusting state the entire restaurant is in, was enough. The food was horrible. Once you start your commited to spending that $48.00 for 2! What is happening to our society and social development? I rate a restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathroom. Ming wah buffet has the worst bathroom other than prison. The only difference with prison bathrooms .....they get cleaned EVERYDAY. Do not waste your $50 on Ming Wah. THIS PLACE IS A DUMP.
Was really disappointing food was below average, one of the deserts was really bad, the owner came over and explained how he orders it from somewhere else but he doesnt understand he is the one serving it. Sadly would not return to this restaurant .
Used to love this place everytime we went to Windsor. So of course we ordered it again when we visited last week and we were all so disappointed in the food. The honey garlic wings were literally coloured water... This place place for sure lost our business after that. I wasnt going to post a bad review but without knowing the issues, they will never get better.
Oh my goodness. My family and I decided to go here for Easter Dinner, thinking it would be an amazing meal that none of us would have to cook. I m so disappointed. It s new ownership and it shows. The food was below average quality, over breaded, not fresh and there are about half as many options for almost double the price. I usually wouldn t waste my time writing a poor review, but that place should not be allowed to serve that food for that price. Even at a cheaper price, the food quality has gone way down. Please do better. Ming Wah was a staple in the Windsor area and now I m not sure what to call in. We will not be returning. Unfortunately.
It has been YEARS since Ive been here. The food was good, but not as much selection as in the past
Food was not fresh, i although gave them another chance still the same, extremely oily and old food
Fantastic staff! Friendly, helpful, quick with refills, clean up & always smiling Restaurant could use a bit of maintenance, cleaning & funds reinvested. Visited at end of night, food couldve been fresher, understandable at that time
Friendly, quiet staff with a calm atmosphere. Food has changed since new management, slightly declined in variety and quality, but overall good!
came for dinner with family at 7:30pm, found most items were out and dried up, definitely not fresh food in buffet. totally waste of money. other competitor is far better even the price is bit higher, that spending worth. totally not recommended and will never go back.
This place was dead food was old and cold. They dont accept debit so along with it being overpriced garbage, never going back, just overall poor quality all around... i was sick for three days.
They scammed me and gave me a car wash token back that looked like a loonie when I got my change back. Place should be shutdown
The area where we ate was a little bit dim. but most of the food were delicious.I wish the sushi was better though. But nevertheless I would still go back and eat there.
Atmosphere is depressing. Food is okay and deserts are meh.
Took my 7-year-old son here on a dinner date, and we were very dissatisfied with the selection, most of the food was extremely hard as it had been sitting for a long time. When I asked for certain foods that are usually here he replied oh ill ask them but we dont have much cause no one is here eating I was kind of thrown off because I was there eating with my son and we are not nobodys. I was quite insulted. And the price was so high for such poor quality and stale food
I went to this Chinese Buffet growing up with my family. 10/10 food, 10/10 service, 10/10 everything. I cant wait till I can visit Windsor and go back. Im glad its still there. I used to get Chicken Balls and Meatballs all the time, it was the best for desserts too. Take your kids here so they can experience what I did.
Food was a step below expections. Won ton soup was good. Ice cream was good. Salads were nice and crispy. Less selection overall Was not very happy Food : 1/5
I think the management has changed once again for the worst. AC was off, the meat for most dishes were rubbery, they got rid of a lot of the seafood and chicken dishes. Very disappointing, last time I go there.
Was insulted by the server. I asked for the manager and made my complaint, will it be taken care of I really dont know
Excellent option to eat in Windsor. Excellent price and wide variety of buffet menu. All the dishes are delicious and there are skewers that you can grill yourself. Good dessert bar.
getting better, deserve to have an another chance
A place that was once my favourite restaurant, is now very disappointing. The staff were wearing sweats and brand name tshirts, and were more interested in their private conversations than their jobs. The food was low quality and half of the buffet was empty because everyone was eating the only decent items on the menu. They closed during the pandemic and maybe they should not have reopened. Would not recommend going.
Service was good. No beer or wine was available. Some food tasted stale or overcooked. A few stalls in the ladies were out of order. Not a good experience for the price.
Excellent food
Ill admit the person assisting my partner and I was very helpful, kept our table clean and brought amazing service. Its just a shame that was paired with poor quality food and a dirty restaurant. I asked her if she received tips and the answer was no, which was extremely unfortunate to hear, but at least they are paid minimum wage rather than the regular waiter/waitress base income. My partner noticed a ton of stains on the ceiling and a disgusting bathroom during our visit which was shown in many other reviews and is clearly not something they care to change. Some of our food was even stale and tasted like it was sitting there the whole day (the muscles, chicken, sushi), and what wasnt stale was not made well. we will not be coming back personally. Please maintain your buffet better and hire proper cleaning services.
use to be good 6 years ago but now the food is absolutely terrible and the atmosphere is just depressing. They would definitely close waste of money.
Very mediocre food and selection from what I remember when I was younger. Very old equipment and decor.
As it goes the variety works for me
Old falling apart Chinese food restaurants run by east Indian no alcohol liscence sad Was once a popular destination clean fri2ndly busy busy now pls shut tour doors Food
Food is okay, its good for the price. Its obviously no Mandarin. Good servers and atmosphere is the best because theres not many people and its quiet so you can actually sit and eat in peace.
Nice place and good service and great stuff
No flesh and service. Dinner was awful. Lazy stuff.
The food was horrible and cold. The place wasn t clean. I used to love this place growing up but you can definitely tell things have changed. I won t be going back and wouldn t recommend anybody to eat there.
Food has gone way downhill service was terrible and everything about this place is unclean and gross
Horrible. Food is super gross, dirty seating area, mold near food area. Never ever will I go back here.
Hadnt been here in years as there were several disappointing visits. I went with my mother a few months ago and we were quiet happy. Everything was fresh and had flavour. We went back with my son a few weeks later and were all disappointed. - Flavourless, like warm food. Both times we went, I was off work so we went shortly after it opened for lunch service cooks must vary. It may be a while before I return
Very good and worth it for the price you pay. I recommand this place
The meal was good, suchi was about dry. The place was full so service was a bit slow in terms of table clearing.
We went to ming wah for lunch and I wish we didnt! I havent been in so long and boy has the food changed. Everything tastes the same and very greasy. Not only that I feel when you open everything should be out and ready we had to wait a half hour for them to put the rice out like its a Chinese buffet and no rice. Alot of dirty plates as well. Probably wouldnt go back for a long while
I really cant recommend this place. It isnt worth the price. The food isnt even hot. I got there about a half hour after they opened on a Sunday and it just....isnt good. Spend an extra $10ish and go to Taka across town.
Stopped Monday at 130 pm ...they were CLOSED. Google open times are wrong ...really disappointed in having driven there for 25 minutes only to be slapped in the face. Not sure why they were closed.
Good Chinese meals
Went to ming wahs today...closed for good??
Terrible no liquor license food is antiquated old and stale... No imagination worst Chinese buffet I have ever had strongly recommend going anywhere else... My last time there will be my last time ever...
The old girl is showing her age. The price isnt worth what was on the buffet. Seems less selection, and not enough of it. Waited 45 minutes for a cup of coffee, as all the wait staff are gone! Told the missus (it was our anniversary, and wed had our wedding dinner there 27 years ago) its the Mandarin from now on.
We enjoyed lunch there yesterday. It is hands down the best Chinese food we ve ever eaten (having lived in Ottawa decades). Though personally not a fan of buffets (because I feel it encourages people to overeat), the value especially for lunch is certainly there. The food tastes amazing and served at the right temperature. We tried a variety including the Wonton soup (excluding sushi dishes) and were not disappointed. I had 2 bowls of Wonton soup and 1 plate from a single bunker. There were still at least 3 other bunkers to try!! Already looking forward to the next visit -call me a convert to this buffet anyways. Thank you for a memorable experience. Update new Owners. Eat at own risk. Found food not heated to health & safety standards .
The food was better than last time. I noticed they have put out less amounts, but are always refilling the stations,so that means it is fresher.
I was here back in their good days when it was packed the owners seemed to care about it. Then it had a fire and now it s old, the food is mediocre at best , the service is a joke and the selection of foods isnnt that impressive either at the point Windsor really only has 1 buffet worthwhile in Windsor and that s Mandarin to quote Mr.Ramsay . They need to shut it down.
Growing up this was a spot for my family. I remember the whole building being packed and even wait times for seats. Now its far from that. I went at 630pm and they had one section (holds roughly 15 tables) 6 where getting used. I even said this is sad. I wanted to still give it a shot, going up for my food the selection was very low half the food trays where empty or only had a handfull of food, but what topped it and made me just put the food down to talk to the manager was going past the gravy a smell hit me, i moved it the gravy had a hard ring on the top and it was curdling. When talking to the manager i was letting him know that we just made a plate but we cant eat here and because the gravy turned are stomachs, he wanted me to show him. He said it was made after lunch and in no way it was reheated yes. He got mad and told us to leave and it was ok. The interaction was not bad. But the food was absolutely repulsive and is a shame to the old ming wahs. Kitchen nightmares contender its that bad!
This place just makes me so so sad. It was our family s favourite restaurant growing up, and I continued to go there after I got married and moved out with my husband and friends. In the past 2 years or so it has just completely died in every way possible. The food options are limited, whats there all tastes the same. The back used to be filled with desserts, there s 2 options available now. The servers are not great, they take forever to serve you, and drinks are handed as cans now instead of poured in a cup. I unfortunately can t go here anymore. The end of an era. I wish the new owners would sell it to someone who knows how to run a chinese buffet to potentially fix it before it closes permanently.
Food quality has gone wayy down with the new owners, we were a large party and when people went up to pay .. the owner wanted 1 person to pay for the 40 plus people we had there. The waitstaff was great but when we finally got to pay, the waitress wouldnt let us give a tip.. She said please dont give a tip, it goes to the owner. Not a great experience.
Ordered a dinner for 2 tonight. It doesnt come with shrimp. I always post a message explaining that I am allergic to shrimp just so they are aware. I called back to let them know this. The manager who is there now at 5pm tells me its UBERs fault and not his. I also explain they forgot another item . He says thats UBERs fault. As we dont have drivers and must use UBER, and its their fault because they have the wrong menu. I explain the shrimp allergy again, explain its buried under my chicken balls. He says what do you want me to do. No sorry, says I can drive over this week and get a free item they missed out on. Ok, what about the shrimp in my other food. He says its not his fault, again its UBERS. Terribly rude, and unprofessional. Yelling at me bc of UBER. I expressed to him that its a simple fix. He says not his problem. I havent dealt with someone on such an unprofessional level before in my life. Terrible service.
Gordon Ramsay would throw up. I mean the food is that disgusting. And the buffet is extremely overpriced.
I love this restaurant have been coming here since I was a little kid and its still great but I wish they would stop selling onion rings because that used to be my favorite food they sold , but other than that, this restaurant is great, I recommend it
Good taste but not real Chinese food.
Over priced and not as good quality before the lock down Half of the items as before Would be my last choice for dine in place
Were regulars. In fact, were going for dinner tonight! ... update. New owners. Horrible! Owner was yelling at staff in front of customers...I mean YELLING! Terrible food. Dirty carpets. Wont be back.
The staff members were doing their best, but it was clear they did not have enough training and the place looks like a warehouse. The bar area has no bottles of any kind on display, only boxes and boxes..... Same corner where they used to make sushi. Food was average, as expected ( we used to go there before the pandemic only when we were really in a rush to grab something to eat). There was a gentleman who seemed to be running the whole place and even he had a hard time answering our questions. Not going back anytime soon.
Food is good.
We walked in, the waiter was wearing a t-shirt and track pants. We walked toward our table and everywhere we saw was filthy carpet. Garbage and food everywhere. We left without eating so cannot comment on food quality.
Run away !
The chinese food here was yum. They have lots of options for the buffet price.
Not as good as it used to be, quite disappointing
Not what it used to be....
Very good
Very cost-effective, highly recommended. But I think their service is not worth tipping. It would have been better to just give cash in the past. After taking my first meal with me last time, I took a friend there for the second time and even received a tip, and the juice was extra. Collecting money, this is a bad review, and then I went again for the third time. I directly gave him 90 yuan in cash. He was a little unhappy. No one is worth that much money, but I feel like I always give them face. . The first time they didnt charge me according to the standard price, it was a scam. But there is nothing we can do about the food. The food here in Windsor is very poor, which is equivalent to choosing the taller among the shorter.
Went here to rekindle some old memories with this place. Used to be awesome as a kid. Not sure if nostalgia works in its favour, but this place as absolutely awful. Food was so bad, it actually achieved the job of not making me hungry anymore, just not in the way expected. Waited for fresh portions, same deal. Worst dining experiencing in quite some time. Definitely upsetting as I loved this place growing up.
Food is good places kept nice and clean
It was okay. Not as good as it was prepandemic
Good food for the price!
Disappointing experience. Hadnt been back in a couple of years and wish I hadnt bothered.
Won t ever order from here again. Failed to tell us on the phone they didn t have debit, so once I arrived to only pay with debit I couldn t receive my food because they told me they only take cash or credit. Wasted gas, time and now out of food because they have it nowhere in their sites, page or even on the store front windows stating no debit. So be prepared to be let down if you go .
I mean I usually dont expect much from buffets, but most of the stuff was definitely been out there for days. The carrot cake and pizza was the most stale thing iv ate. Same with noodles. Rest of the food was barely edible. Only reason for 2 star price of premium beer is pretty cheap.
There was very little to choose from. Very costly . Definitely will not go back.
Would of liked more variety but overall good
Had the buffet and 1 pop at lunch time today..they charged 36 dollars..ripped off...watch your bill they will rip you off!!
The food great, prices went up way too much. Service not bad . Food
Excellent customer service, Food was average
After waiting for Ming Wah to reopen we came back with a sizeable gift card. We were told it was no longer valid as these are new owners. Offered nothing in compensation. This was my Dads fave place. He passed during the closure. We were coming back to celebrate him. Wont ever go back now.
If I could give it zero stars I would. The food was mediocre at best. We went at 6:30pm for dinner and there was not much food, it was basically the leftovers picked over from the dinner rush. The desserts were terrible, what used to be a salad bar was what looked like 2 day old lettuce. The wonton soup was just broth and celery. With no fresh food coming out at all. Very over priced for what you get now. Such a shame because it used to be so good.
Great variety of delicious foods, quick and friendly service. They even had enough Canadian food for this picky eater! Plus, they comped my meal for my birthday. Great experience and well be back!
