Normally we just get take out and I always enjoy my halibut from Pat & Hanks. The Tuesday specials are great value. My son had the New Zealand Blue Cod and the portions were huge. The fries taste exactly like they did when I first started eating P&H back in the late 60’s South Windsor.
Just got our order from them and the fish is so mushy like the baked it halfway. We put it in the air fryer and thank god I had the time to look at everything else because the rolls were moldy. I'm sure eating mold while pregnant would not have been very good for me.
very disappointed in the portion size of the full halibut meal for the price. Everyone had to reorder hot fries which we received and one person had to request a soup spoon for the chowder. However, the company we were dining with was exceptional..sorry won't be back..
Came here on a Tuesday and got the Cod special for $13.99. for 2 pieces of cod, fries, coleslaw and a bun, it's the best deal!!! Very very good.
Restaurant was empty as probably we were last one in for the evening. Staff was super sweet. Food was fresh Will visit soon again
Best fish available. I love this place. I'm not a small guy but I can't usually finish it all. The halibut is fantastic. It's all good here. Fries are amazing.
I finally made it out there to try Pat & Hank's fish and chips and here is my review based on what I have ordered. I went there at lunch time on a Wednesday and the place was empty. I had met the cook outside before I walked in and I told him it is my first time here, so he recommended the tilapia fish, which is their signature dish. So, I gave my order to the waitress and she said that the order comes with bread roll, fries and coleslaw and it should not be long to have it ready. She went to the service station and right away I heard the her place the bread roll in a microwave at the service station which was few feet away from me before she served it to me (not a big fan of microwave) and I believe resturants shouk not use a microwave to heat up bread because it makes it chew. Not even 8 minutes later she brought my order and I can tell that it was not freshly prepared. It looks like they prep their fish pieces with batter and freeze it ahead of time. The fries were not cooked properly and were still raw from inside. After all, It was a decent experience but I think it is not something I would crave to have again and I will be on the hunt for the best fish and chips in the Windsor area. Customer service was excellent and deserves 5 stars.
This’s our first and last time to order from this place. The service was perfect but the food was really oily. The popcorn shrimp was a day or two old and heated up by microwave or refried. I don’t recommend it but you can give it a try that’s my opinion.
Chips were not cooked could have had them replaced but but did not ask them to do it just wont go there again

My opinion Pat and Hanks is a little more on the expensive side for halibut but my wife prefers it so thats where I purchased it. This was a take out but that being said, service was excellent from ordering to pickup.
Ordered the tues special, got home and it was 3 of the smallest pieces ever. I called to complain and was told I wasnt the first to call with a complaint. I was offered 1 extra (tiny pc) on my next order. Next order?? Ill never waste my money there again. If you know the pieces are small, add extra to save your customer. The first piece I bit in to was sooo fishy! I was too mad to call back. Ill be spreading the word about this rip off. To reply to their comment, $13.95 plus tax and tip, cost me $17. We have way better fish frys at home, and were not a restaurant.
We ordered the halibut tuesday special and we were very disappointed, the fries were disgusting. Its sad, it Was Always good, we wont be back.
Poor service
The service was awesome, especially for a Good Friday. The fish and chips were great. The strawberry milkshake is worth a visit all on its own.
Ive been ordering from this restaurant for a very long time. Today, I realize after getting home, there was no tartar sauce. I phoned them to inquire about it and received a snarky reply from the boy that I did not receive any because I did not order any! No apology, just sarcasm. Never in my life have I ever had to order tarter sauce packets with fish dinners. So all the way back to the restaurant I go. Thanks Pat & Hanks for a nice cold fish and shrimp dinner after a long day at work. Much appreciated.
I used to go to the Wyandotte store regularly, before it closed, and this is my first visit to the Tecumseh town location. This was a better experience. The staff was energetic and friendly, and the food was excellent. I will definitely visit again.
This place is a second location of a Windsor staple. Some would say that theee guys have the best fish and chips in town but honestly I dont know that I have the pallet to be able to make that call. Its delicious though and the only thing fishy is how awesome the French fries are.

Amazing fish n chips.
Was very disappointed when I wanted salad and they had NO salad. Lettuce shortage is long over. Fish was ok but greasy. Buns are chewy, probably microwaved. Probably wont be back.

Dietary restrictions: Not exactly a restriction, but you can request lightly battered as I do. Been a loyal fan for thirty years. You dont go for the atmosphere, this is a great fish and chips shop ! Food

food is good BUT every time I go we get less and less fries and only allowed one tarter pack per fish...we are payinG $14 two piece of fish...hand full of fries..COME ON!!!!!! Fridays Fish is looking better and better every day

I rely on Pat x Hanks for my fish and chips. Every Tuesday I love to endulge in the halibut x chips. Such a great price for an outstanding quality meal. I don t bother buying halibut in grocery stores as the deal you get at Pat x Hanks. Food
We moved here in Nov/22 and fell in love with this place. The food is wonderful. Unfortunately, over the last couple of months, we have noticed that the portion size of the junior pack has decreased by 1/3. Today was the worst yet. Every piece was tiny and the amount of chips was down by 1/4 to a 1/3. We are so disappointed as this was our go-to place to take-out.

I have been coming here for years. I was in for lunch with a friend about a month ago. When our fish n chips arrived it looked nothing like the usual golden batter and fresh fries, it was very dark batter and overcooked chips. I asked if they had changed hands and they hadn t. I told the waitress how bad it was and she apologized and didn t charge. She said the oil probably needed to be changed. There were no other patrons in there. Why would you serve food like this. I will probably never go back. I went to the new Frydays on Manning and it was excellent so that is the place to go.

The waitress we had was this older woman. She was rude and disrespectful, she checked on us only twice the whole time. Wasn t even the one to bring us our food. Food was not as good as it once was. Only good thing was the lemon Marnge pie.
2nd time we called ahead to pick up.given a time and waited over 1/2 an hour longer than time given.wont be back

Great fish and chips, really good service, and very clean space. Unfortunately the venue appears to have not been updated since the early 80s! I truly dislike dining in what feels like a fish bowl; a large room, lots of tables so everyone sees your meal and hears your conversation.
Stopped at Pat and Hanks Fish and Chips in Tecumseh on December 23, 2021 and ordered the Family Halibut Dinner package to go and were very pleased with the way it was cooked.

I have been ordering from this location for over 20 yrs. Decided to order halibut instead of the cod dinner and the portion has changed dramatically. When I called I was made to feel like I was trying to receive a free dinner when I just requested a change to the cod dinner. Terrible experience from someone that works in the customer service industry

Ordered the junior pack halibut fish and chips the fish was horrible it was a pinky beige colour and tasted real fishy I ve ordered many times and never had this happen when I called to ask why the fish wasn t white like usual I was told they had new fish but it was definitely halibut. Shouldn t halibut be the same colour and taste all the time. I was offered a discount for the next order No thanks I won t be back. So disappointing.

Light and crispy on the outside, flakey and moist on the inside, perfectly done Halibut. Excellent fries. Parking: We found plenty of parking around the back with a convenient back entrance, no need to walk around to the front in the rain.

Favourite fish and chip place in Ontario. Their Tuesday specials are amazing. I go here every Tuesday. Seriously. Haddie bites literally just melt in your mouth. Scallops are always made to perfection. A feat that many restaurants miss the mark on. And their homemade seafood sauce is the best I have EVER had, anywhere.
Theres a significant price increase. So dont get surprised when paying your bill without looking at their new menu and pricing before you order.

Good Friday very disappointed , stood in line for about 2 hrs , no a fence to store due to covid but when I got home with food the order was half of what you get any other time . Small peace of fish and half order of fries. We will not go there again. Very disappointed.
Been ordering from here for years.used to be able to get a nice 6 PC perch dinner for about 18 bucks.ordered today cost 22 bucks and perch was half the size.no longer a customer

Good meal. Halibut was cooked well and served quickly. Nice amount of batter. Downside- rather small serving for price also a bit inconsistent in sizing. In our 2 servings the second piece was 1 finger sized in one and 2 1/2 finger sized in other. Still worth the drive though and Im happy to support small business

Ordered take out. 3pc Cod and Shrimp dinner. Was told it would be ready in an hour. Had to wait an extra 20 mins which was no problem but the meals were not hot at all specially fries . Food tasted great but would of liked it hot Next time will dine in to see the difference.

The food was delicious and large portions. The server was nice . It was so full 2-3 people were sitting at tables set for 6-8. Serving time was ridiculously slow for drink order/menus and to actually be served our order. Will eat again but only as carry-out. Updated on May 4th 2020 to add: tried carryout tonight. I got the halibut and shrimp combo. The halibut was delicious. That is all I have nice to say. Now as the halibut was gold, the shrimp was quite brown in color as were the fries. All you could taste was overcooked and oily. Will never order here again.
Great fish and chips almost every time. A bit inconsistent on the fish portions. When you get a good portion its a great price for great food. If you get 2/3 the amount, its an average price for great food.

What is frontline thursdays all about? I dont see where you donate a portion of proceeds to a frontline worker fund nor are frontline workers getting a discount on thursdays. Charging everyone the same $14 for a halibut dinner which by the way is no special deal and using our frontline heroes as part of your ad campaign to noones benefit but your own pocket is shameful. Signed proud parent of 2 frontline workers!

Ordered 2 piece halibut dinner. Not perch but they where the size of a small perch. Tastes ok but for $43 for 2 dinners. Never again. Sorry Jodie

Good food, great Tuesday specials but the very best part was the waitress. Cheerful, smiling and makes you feel welcome. She got a little bit larger tip for making the visit an enjoyable one. The other Pat and Hanks needs lessons from this store. Great job.
God wow, owner stunk like fish and wouldnt stop flexing his muscles around, bud fired the gang on moms. Never going there ever again as i cant fathom the stench of the owners breath. If u ever go I recommend u bring a gas mask.

I havent ordered food here for about 6 months. I ordered 2 full sized halibut dinners. When I got home and opened containers, there was alot less fries and no buns. Its also not like you get a large portion of fish either. Im not in hurry to come back but when I do the only deals are the specials for $10.00 or the big family serving of fish for $55.00. Then one could add their own sides. As it stands I paid $52.00 for 2 fish dinners and a hamburg. deluxe
