Oishii Sushi in Windsor

I tried around 10 different dishes and 7 of them were awful tasteless. Waitresses didn t even bother stopping while speaking to us! Never coming back!! I rather starve then eat here istg

Awful. Now, let me elaborate. This is my second time trying this place after having a terrible experience with this spot the first time. I went against my previous judgement to give it another try, and man do I regret it. Many people raved about how good it is in the reviews and I just can t believe people consider this a good sushi location given the insane lack of quality. The Kani salad had to have been the most half-assed Kani salad I ve come across. Just large piece of iceberg lettuce with some questionable mayo sauce that was too runny and no more than 1 piece of imitation crab scattered throughout the entire salad. Which might I add was a hefty price for what I was given. Insanely disappointing, and by far the worst Kani salad I have ever had. Next, the rolls. The rice tasted like it was drowning in rice vinegar and was overwhelming to even pretend to enjoy. Too much and gave the entire rolls an awful taste. Not sure who was on rice duty but some training and some altercations to the ingredients/portions is needed. Sushi: the nigiri/sushi rolls were a pathetic serving. The 2 salmon pieces on top were no bigger than my finger. For the price, I was expecting a normal piece of salmon slabbed on top of the already unbearable rice. Rolls: the quality of the sushi was the part that made me really finalize my decision. Not fresh. Was mushy. And slimy and sticky to the touch. Giving me everything I needed to know to classify this sushi as OLD OR POOR QUALITY FISH!! Couldn t even enjoy a single piece or bite of anything I ordered. Please do better. I cannot be the only one with this unfortunate experience. I was very unimpressed and will never recommend this location over the many other sushi joints in Windsor that, by far, exceeds oishii. I will in fact give my strong opinion to anyone even considering trying this place.

Food is very good, even for Japanese, Chinese or Thai food, good portions. You can dine in order a plate or going to all you can eat, with pop and dessert included. Price is fair, clean environment, kind service. I liked broccoli beef.

The food was good, but we had to wait 30 minutes after we place our order to start, and we have to wait 5-10 minutes between each plate, although it was ordered together. The place was empty, only 3 more tables were taken. It wasnt a busy day.

It took a while until we received the first items then it started to arrive quicker. Several items were omitted and we had to stay on top of our selections.

Slow, overwhelmed servers

Sushi is delicious, but so are many of the other non-fish options for those unsure on eating fish. A highlight for me is their sweet roll, which is a tempura sweet potato on top of a roll with fried crumbs inside and a honey drizzled over top. Its very good. There are many options for those who do not like much fish, such as my husband who enjoys a lot of the chicken and beef dishes, but he also really enjoys eel, so the eel don was fantastic for him and he really liked that. All in all, it offers variety to people who may not enjoy fish, or are vegetarian, or dont like spicy food. One would not have to worry about going hungry if they dont like seafood or such! Service is quick and polite, both with bringing the food and for the workers collecting plates. This is my sons favourite restaurant now and he requests this when we ask where he wants to go for special dinners. Looking forward to our next visit again! Vegetarian options: Im not vegetarian myself, but do enjoy some of the vegetarian options they have. They taste fantastic and tempura sweet potato is just awesome here. Many vegetarian dishes available here! Kid-friendliness: If your child is an adventurous eater, their portions are fantastic for kids. They offer chopsticks that are adjusted for children and beginners to use.

10% fee for credit card? you have to be kidding me. This place came in as a good experience until checkout when the lady ran my card without properly explaining to me that they surcharge 10% !! for credit card use, i left really disappointed and it did not make sense to me at all. I understand that credit card companies charge you a fee and it adds up as a small business owner but the fee does not surpass 4% on a high reward card so commonly it ranges to cost you 1-3%, you cannot punish someone for using a card at your place, we are moving towards a digital economy and this is archaic business practice especially for a restaurant. Please educate your employees to explicitly explain it to the customer that you offer a 10% cash discount because it is unfair to the customer. Disappointing, i will not refer anyone nor come back. Vegetarian options: there are a few vegetarian options.

All you can eat...for the food quality it was way over priced...if compared to The Mandarin Buffet, I would definitely choose The Mandarin for food quality and service.

writing this while at all you can eat lunch with friends and were extremely disappointed if the food wasn t underdone it was rock hard overcooked. most meat items are a no go as they are made with low quality beef makes sense for the business to keep costs down but leads to having dishes that are very chewy and hard to even swallow most bites. the steak teriyaki is overcooked and bland especially when you have to chew on one piece for 10minutes each and still end up having to spit it out because it not swallowable . on the flip edamame was underdone, i would ve been willing to wait the extra what not even 5 minutes longer they needed to steam. would love some some smaller portion options as sometimes the portions can be overwhelming if your in a small group/alone or if no one will split an order of something. the waitress is mad slay though very sweet and quick. great hospitality below - average food food

It was my first time eating here. I came with another person who recommended this restaurant. We both ordered from the all-you-can-eat menu. The orders are placed through a tablet and the server brings out the food when it is ready. I started my meal with vegetable spring rolls. They were hot and fresh and came with a plum sauce. Next, I ordered the chicken teriyaki and vegetable fried rice. Loved the taste of both! The rice was especially flavourful so I ordered a second portion! I also ordered the vegetable udon. I was so stuffed by the time I worked my way through those two items that I was falling asleep! I still wanted dessert so I ordered orange slices. I liked that they offered a fresh fruit option that helped clear the palette. The large drink portions were also free refills so all-in-all, you get your moneys worth. I would highly recommend Oishii Sushi to family and friends (and strangers) looking for a great place to eat. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the service is second to none! if i could give zero stars i would. weve been here for 2 hours. we ordered and it took a whole hour for a few rolls to come to our table. its not even busy. everyone around us was getting their food even though we ordered first. they came after 1.5 hours and said oops we didnt receive your order. well oops you just lost a customer. theyre understaffed and i had a terrible experience. not coming back. taka is better. dont try new places. save yourself from the dissapointment

We are enjoying this sushi restaurant. Reasonably priced with fast and uniformly excellent service. Lots of menu options and fresh sashimi! The atmosphere could be spruced up a bit, but I go for the food and have never left unsatisfied.

The sushi was delicious, the sashimi especially was fantastic. However it was near impossible to get the attention of staff for any questions, or to order drinks. In the end we just stuck with the drinks available from the tablet. Overall still a great experience though, and we will definitely be back in the future :)

Usually love this place but last time I went my friend found a piece of glass in a sushi roll after biting it then the server took the piece away and ignored us for around 20 minutes so we asked for a manager and was told we had to pay for all you can eat and would get a %10 discount (we barely ate) never coming back and would recommend you to do the same

I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! Me and my friends came for dinner and it was already off to a bad start as i am in crutches and theres no handicap buttons on the doors for me to get inside without help. And after we sat down to eat we were only neglected refills on out drinks but we found GLASS IN OUR SUSHI. We talked to a manager and they only gave us a measly 10% discount for our troubles and we just had to take that and leave after our appetite was RUINED. We will NEVER eat here again. I wanted to spend a nice Friday dinner, went to this place and ordered a vegetable Ramen and two chicken soup noodles, the worst experience of our life as all the noodles was tasting high amount to fish sauce, I am so disappointed as we had to leave without eating as the taste was so intense that we almost pucked, I didnt expect a veg noodles or chicken noodles to taste fish!!!. I almost spend $80 and I felt like the worst ever happened, except for the friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Their vegetarian taste fish/non veg

First this place needs more staff. Takes so long to get any service. Second, the food here just isn t good. Comparing this to the good all you can eat sushi from Toronto/ Kitchener. It reminds you of the food you want to eat, but just doesn t hit the mark. It s as if, you re drinking no name brand drinks compared to the original. Won t be coming back here.

Definitely a great east side Windsor, Sushi, Thai, and Chinese food destination. Fun restaurant with electronic tablet menus for there all you can eat option. Pick what you want on a touch screen tablet and push send to kitchen, and very quickly, you have wonderfully hot delicious food. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere, definitely worth the stop!

Great experience

Food was fresh and tasty and well portioned. The first dish I had ordered never made it after 30 minutes of waiting and the my table receiving all the other food along with people that were seated afterwards near us. We were not on all you can eat, so without an iPad it was hard to track down the ladies although they were all very friendly. I did end up leaving hungry and ordering food elsewhere to my hotel. Water was never refilled I just drank remaining water from my familys cups. I was very hungry when I arrived after a long drive from Toronto and I was very disappointed.

All you can eat sushi. Has a good selection to choose from. Not a big fan of the sweet eel sauce they drizzle on all of their sushi. Next time will ask them not to add it. Quick service, friendly waitresses!

Its not like the normal buffet where you have access to all the food items and you get it for yourself. They give you a tablet where you place order and the server will bring you the order. Also they say theyd charge for the leftovers which I think is a little unfair if youre going there for the first time, you dont know how things taste & you want to try everything which BY THE WAY is what buffet is for. One thing that made my experience bad was finding HAIR in the soup bowl. I literally gagged after. There was nothing done about it even when I complained, the server smiled and said sorry. They didnt even bring back a fresh soup bowl afterwards and I didnt request it either because it was a total turnoff and I didnt feel like eating it afterwards. Also the service got a little slow after people started showing up the server got busy in catering to the needs of newcomers and almost forgot about the ones sitting there way before. Took a good 10-15 minutes to bring dessert after more people showed up.

Had an Amazing AYCE Sushi Experience at Oishi Sushi. Let start with Price 26.99 pp Lunch. Pop + Hot Tea Included in the price. kids below 3 eat Free. Service was quick the wait times were about 10min between order and delivery to the table. Food was prepared extremely well. The best way to tell when an AYCE Sushi place is good is when they make the cheese wontons the correct way. So many places cut corners by folding it in triangles or just bowling it. It takes skill to create the perfect wonton shape. The staff was extra attentive and helpful with all your needs. This will be the only AYCE sushi I will be going from now on. One thing that was missing was the Teriyaki Salmon (4.5 stars due to that) but its very understandable given the current food price situation. You still can get salmon in sushi or rolls. Hopefully once things get back again to normal we might get that in the menu for lunch. **Take Cash you get a 10% Discount.

Weve eaten here before & the food was very good! But yesterdays sushi rolls were with lettuce which I find unusual. They were loosely rolled so they fall apart when you try to pick them up with your chopsticks.

Without a doubt, best a-y-c-e sushi joint in Windsor. Been going for years, staff is excellent. Special shout outs to Vinnie, Jessica, and Lilia, always charming, helpful and friendly. Food served w/I minutes of ordering and consistently outstanding. Years long traditional Wednesday chow spot for my daughter and me. Cant say enough about this restaurant. Vegetarian options: Veggie daughters fave.

This is the closest sushi spot to us and I really wanted to like it since Ive heard positive things about it. Unfortunately, I could only eat a couple pieces because I couldnt down anymore. The roll had a ridiculous amount of rice, and the sushi was the least fresh of any Ive tried in the city. It was slimy and had a faint fish scent -- fresh sushi should NOT have a smell. I do give them props for decent pricing and generous portions, so plus one star. However, as an Asian who grew up by the coasts, it was obvious that the sushi was not made by Japanese or Korean chefs. We were invited to dine there by friends but I had to decline because its not palatable to me. My caucasian friends arent deterred by it, but if you are an avid sushi lover who enjoys raw fish in their rolls, I wouldnt recommend it.

The first time was AMAZING! The second time I ordered I was less than impressed. You would think for a $75 order you would at least get full sauces. Or some soy sauce for the sushi! And when advertising a freebie youd expect to get it. I am dissapointed on so many levels.

We ordered off the menu and did not do the all you eat sushi. They seemed to have minimal staff, and the food took quite some time to come, and they forgot my tea. I think if they had more staff this place would be excellent.

This place was amazing and Ive have been to many different sushi restaurants here in Windsor nothing compares to oishii. A little expensive at $35 per person for all-you-can-eat but the menu is extensive and totally worth the price.

Great service for sure For the all you eat, they will try to put as much rice or noodles in every dish as possible. The nigiri and sashimi selections were very limited due to the high cost of the food. I really do like the great service they have. Everyone is friendly. But I m not paying $50 plus dollars (including tax and tips) plus dollars for all you eat there again. Great sushi place if you don t know too much about authentic Japanese food.

This place was Pizza Hut before it was changed to an all you can eat sushi place with Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine. It is still set up like what Pizza Hut looked like with some Japanese styled art. Its menu and choices are mainly on a tablet. The servers are always in the dining room and attentive towards all customers. They will ask for the ages of each child whom are dining with you ( this is due to the different prices for the all you can eat) , and take drink orders which are on the tablets but are only ordered with the servers. Once we have selected what we want to order, its sent to the kitchen and usually we do not have to wait long for our orders to arrive. Were served appetizers first then everything else. The tablets stays with us until were done eating and we pay for our meals at the counter. The food is pretty good and we try a wide variety of assortment of food items. They even serve fries. Dessert is an assortment of ice cream and Asian styled desserts. Theres lots of items to choose from. Freshly made. Soups are hot. Overall experience has been good. Theres alcoholic drinks available for purchase as well.

Eat here at least once a month it s addicting, fish always fresh !!! The all you can eat is worth it for the great tasting amount of choices you have. My boyfriend isn t a fish lover but they still always have non fish items he loves to get. The inside is just the cutest as well, I prefer the booth. But anyone one that has anything bad to say about this restaurant is blind and has no taste. Great job to the staff for always being so kind and serving the best food.

I wonder if we arrive to the restaurant. Everything seem to be very clean and organized. The staff were very friendly and had impeccable custom service, you have truly won us over. I also would like to point out that Anita and Ada our waitresses were amazing and super friendly they both deserve a raise.

I have been many times and every time I go I end up wanting more. Their service is so quick that you barely wait 5 minutes for all of your food. They have a variety menu and amazing all you can eat if youre in the area check them out, you will thank me for it.

The Food was delicious as always. The last times I came around 11am and it was less busy. So the service was crowded this time so I didnt score it perfect on service. I will try to come at a slower time. I love the Japanese music they play. It sets the perfect atmosphere. I love this place. The variety they have is great. Not only can you eat sushi you can have Thai or Chinese food. I always suggest to my friends we go to Oishi Sushi for lunch. Its a great place to eat! Each one says it great as well.

I went for the AYCE lunch menu and found the service to be really good. The Japanese cuisine selection is very good. Its authentically Japanese with Thai dishes as well. They had the best Agedashi Tofu and tempura . Definitely will return.

For an AYCE, this place is a solid choice. My issue with most places is the fish to rice ratio being way off, but this place gets it right. They have beautifully cut fish on top of a reasonable amount of rice. Their other, non-sushi selection, is also fantastic (they serve bbq short ribs for lunch which is a must try). The price is a bit high, but the value is right in line. That is why I think this is a 5-star AYCE sushi restaurant. If you know a better place, please let me know! Kid-friendliness: We brought my 2 year old in here and they were amazing with him. They were helpful and very friendly!

Our favourite sushi restaurant in the greater Windsor/Tecumseh area. The rolls are very generous portions and taste phenomenal. Service has always been fast and very nice too. My favourite is the Oishii Roll. So good. Vegetarian options: Excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

Food wasnt that great. The music was very loud, and the service was ok. We paid $40 for an adult and $20 for child all you can eat. We will not be going there again.

Staff isnt friendly. Food is pretty good, but it took 40 minutes to get some of our dishes and an order of sesame chicken and dumplings never came. If Im spending as much as I am and its AYCE, the food needs to arrive.
