2018 visit

We have ordered take out from here several times and it has always been decent quick Italian food for a decent price. Pick up and delivery is very easy with them. They have changed the vodka pasta sauce and isn t as good as it used to be. The hostess is friendly but there is one who doesn t seem to be trained any time she answers the phone, and delivery driver is very nice. However after reading some of the reviews from the owners, it has tainted my perspective of this restaurant. I m glad I haven t had any issues because it clearly wouldn t be addressed very professionally. I have never seen a restaurant owner respond in the way I have just read on here. This review was made same day of order so I am not sure what your point is about being closed for 8 days.

We had a really bad experience here. The owner seemed to be a rude and a none responsive person. The ravioli was dry and smelly. It was clearly not well prepared. The pizza bread was dry and the whole meal seemed cold. The cheese on top was not even melted, it was as if they put the ingredients on top of a baked bread and served it. We sent the food pizza back from lack of satisfaction. The whole experience could ve been better if the owner had some common courtesy to face the unsatisfied customer whereas send the server back and forth and just try to show off his lack of manners in the reviews.

I called to inquire about some general information, but before I could finish speaking, they rudely hung up on me. Very disappointed with their customer service.

Was invited for a night out here with my cousins. Food was alright. Could improve how they clean the grills , instead of a steel brush they should use a wooden. This way they can eliminate the chance of bristles coming off the brush and potentially ending up in someone s plate of food. Smaller venue. Felt snug. We recently had our son s confirmation party at That s Italian, and everything was just AMAZING! Michela was a pleasure to work with and helped us choose a great menu. The day of the party we were greeting by friendly staff who were very attentive throughout the event. And to top it off, the food was just DELICIOUS! Kudos to the chef!! We received many compliments from our guests!! I highly recommend dining here. /

We decided to go this restaurant specifically for the lasagna. We went on a Friday at 7:15 pm. About 20 minutes after we ordered we were told the lasagna was sold out. We were absolutely disappointed but decided to stay since we already ordered. Service was a bit slow but the staff were very friendly. We got the calamari and the spaghetti and meatballs. Calamari was tasty. The spaghetti and meatballs were disappointing and lacked flavour.

Came for my moms birthday and had a great time. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, lighting was a bit dim but that s my own issue not the restaurants. Food was exceptional, I m a very picky eater when it comes to Italian food nothing compares to Nonna but these meals tasted just like home Mitch and Emily were both thoughtful servers and even presented us with a cake at the end of our meal without being asked which I appreciate most. All in all it was a great experience, main course took a while to get to the table but they had two parties going on and we had a large appetizer course so, not the end of the world.

I usually dont give a one-star rating to any restaurant, and it rarely happens, but this restaurant was truly one of the worst Ive been to. The managements attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional. At first, I thought I might have misunderstood, but then I realized the management was displaying discriminatory behavior. When I read negative reviews, I realized I wasnt mistaken at all. Anyway, if you value yourself and your nerves, I wouldnt recommend this place at all because they have no idea of customer respect for all their customers (the way they respond to criticism review is quite evident). We visited Thats Italian after reading great recommendations on a local Facebook group. The staff were friendly and our antipastos were delicious. However, when our meals were brought out we were told the gluten free pizza would take a few extra minutes which was fine. But four of us had finished our meals, and the fifth person still hadnt received her gluten free pizza. We were told by 3 different waitresses its coming right out in a span of 20 minutes. When I personally went up to ask the waitress about the pizza, she had checked with the chef who stated it would be another few minutes. At this point it had been 1 hour and 20 minutes since our order was entered into their system, and we were still waiting for one meal. The waitress mentioned she could give us a free dessert, however I asked if she could just do a bill discount instead since we had to leave & we were all full. She explained that the gluten free pizza has to be made separate which I completely understand and I appreciate the effort thats put into their allergy precautions, however 1 hour and 20 minutes is a little absurd. After she checked with the chef, she stated hes only willing to offer a dessert but due to the amount of time wed had already been waiting, the waitress said shed pay for the gluten free pizza herself. Its disappointing that the waitress could only provide this option by paying out of pocket. We were also there to celebrate a birthday, which was told to the staff who greeted us at the door but no celebration or anything was made, as they mentioned theyd do.

We placed an online order to be picked up. When we arrived we were greeted by smiles and friendly faces. The meal was brought out in a timely fashion and we were showed that everything was there. The food was amazing! All well presented and packaged. Portion sizes were huge! Very impressed and will absolutely go back again.

Italian restaurants are usually Hit or Miss as a BIPOC. This one was definitely a miss. The place looks nice in the photos, but its not. We were celebrating my cousins birthday and she traveled to 2.5 hours to get there. She arrived first and the server Jessica refused to serve her drinks or apps until the rest of our party got there AND ordered entrees. The arancini was the worst Ive ever had and the rest of the apps and entree were severely lacking in taste. Server was told about my corn allergy and I was assured there was none in the dishes I was ordering, but still asked for confirmation. Confirmation that there was corn in the hideous arancini AFTER we paid the bill. Furthermore, no dessert menu, but recited, and server clearly missed other options as the table in front of us (that came after and was served before us), had dessert options not mentioned. And it was 1:30pm so they couldnt have run out. Would definitely not return or recommend.

Great food and service. All staff interactions were great, especially our server Sherri. The portion sizes were tremendous for the price and all four of us highly enjoyed each of our meals.

I had the best experience hosting my baby shower a couple of weeks ago. Joe and Michela were so kind and helpful in making sure everything was perfect for my special day. They responded quickly to my emails, and altered the menu the way I liked for my guests. My guests loved the food and the atmosphere, they said they ate everything it was delicious! We will definitely be booking other events there. Mary was amazing too ! Can t thank her enough for everything with the set up and making sure all of the tables were arranged exactly how we wanted. The servers and waitresses were amazing too. All of the food came out quickly and were hot and delicious. The servers and wait staff also helped with my dessert table, putting out fruit and helping put things in boxes for us to take home, they helped with cleaning up afterwards too. We really liked the fresh pasta, the pomodoro sauce was just perfect, and so comforting. The desserts were really good-we had the mini pastries, as well the cheesecake. I especially enjoyed the mocha mini pastry-super fresh, tasted homemade. We will definitely go back for pizza, rapini, and dessert! They have a good $25 deal as well which we will do next time for sure!

Would never go there again! My husband ordered penne bolognese, hardly any meat in the sauce , ordered 4 stagione pizza prosciutto so salty, we couldnt eat the pizza, expressed to waitress, her reply was yeah our prosciutto is salty and chuckled about it. My brother ordered a pasta and fish dish needless to say he not did finish it, and sent it on its way. Asked if we wanted it box to take home. I said no thank you, ypu can send it all back. so we ate bread and butter that came with the pasta. Great Birthday dinner it turned out to be. Quite a expensive bill to the wind.

I was amazed, at my daughters shower event that was held there. The staff, and chefs were simply great.. and the food out of this world, ... Anytime I revisit, I am always sure to specifically ask to be served by her! She is exceptionally attentive to our needs, without being invasive to our night out! Husband and I went in for a belated valentines lunch and we had an amazing time. Food and drinks were superb. Mack was friendly and provided us great service. Vegetarian options: They have a bunch of vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu. We tried Penne alla Diavola and Gnocchi al Pomodoro. Both were delicious. Highly recommend the Penne alla Diavola if you like spicy food.

I ordered through Uber and needed to absolutely let this restaurant know how pleased I was with my food! I spoke with Emily who was so gracious and appreciative. The calamari were tender and fried to perfection with zero aftertaste which is so common with many fried restaurant foods. The bruschetta was made just like you d make it yourself! So very good. I recently used That s Italian on a large take-out order and the experience was nothing short of excellent. I was greeted by Joe who was very cordial and carefully advised on my order. When I arrived about five minutes prior to the agreed upon date and time the order was just being finalized. Joe explained they didn t want to have it ready early to ensure the food was still hot. The portions were generous and the food was terrific, all of our guests were complimentary of what had been provided. In short, I would highly recommend That s Italian , the entire experience was excellent and I will certainly be using them again ! Parking: Plenty of parking available

Joe took his time to help us pick out the right foods and the amounts we would need, and he was flexible with the menu items to suit our needs. Even to minor last minute adjustments. I do love this place and I am a very regular customer. Even throughout the pandemic I was here every single week. I send people there all the time and brought friends there just last month. But the service lately has gone way downhill. The kids who work there are constantly telling me I can t order food or putting me on power hold, This is unfortunate because the manager is amazing! The catering service is well done but the day to day kids in there just don t know what they are doing and are bringing down the name. Perhaps they need a lil more Education on Customer Service and phone etiquette.

What a disappointment! We just had our first (and last) pizza from Thats Italian. Ordered on-line. Deliver time was quoted as 50 minutes (I only live about 3 minutes away). After an hour I called and after being on hold for a long time, was told hes on his way. The pizza arrived. Based on the crust being as hard and dry as a rock, I suspect it was double baked. It was not fresh - It was awful.

I went to this place initially for the birthday of my sister-in-law. I returned this past Valentine s Day when I seen their $49/person (3 course) ad online. I went and as always, the food is good, service is superb. I d definitely return and recommend.

Was craving some Italian food and wanted to go somewhere different. The reviews were mixed, but happy to report that the food was great and the service was excellent. I went with 6 gfs. I had the parpadelle(loved the sauce), others had the grilled calamari, pizza, lamb etc. We also shared the appetizer platter. The servers were friendly, bubbly and seemed happy to be there. The margherita pizza wasnt even a margherita pizza. It was thick, burnt, and overall was hard to eat. I must say thought the pasta i tried from my friends plate was good. I recommend the pasta items over the pizza items.

Small portions over priced

The first time I went there I had an ok experience. The only reason to this was my waitress. If I can recall correctly her name was Alyssa. Alyssa was personable and professional while making sure we had a great evening. The food that initial night was not bad but also not great. I went back to eat there last week and the staff was ok but the food was really not good. My pasta came out cold and my husbands pizza tasted burnt. The food also took long and there was remorse from any of the staff. In my opinion this restaurant keeps loosing the good staff they had and soon there won t be anything left for them cling on to for a hail mary.

Great food, but super slow. Only come here if you have at least two hours to spare. It seems like they have just one cook for the entire place, even if there are 50 people dining. Serious bottleneck.

So-so. Party of 4, Saturday night. The restaurant was 1/2 full. It took 15mins for our server to introduce herself, we ordered, another 15mins to wait for water and a basket of cold bread, 10mins after that our apps arrived (the calamari was great, bruschetta was not bad, Caesar was good). Veal Marsala was great but the portion was small, it should really be served with some veg or a side. I was not a fan of the pizza. The dough was a bit overdone and a bit too crunchy and dense. Overall, meh. I would not go back.

Pretty sure my calamari was gone bad. Had an awful taste to it. First and last time i eat here EDIT: yeah it was your place, and no I didn t complain in restaurant. My partner is a chef and he tasted it as well, we both came to the conclusion that it was old/spoiled. We never like to cause a scene, so we paid our bills without asking for any discount or deduction and left. This calamari shouldn t have left the kitchen and shame on the chef for sending it out in the first place. Quite a strong smell coming off it when biting into it as well. Careful with seafood here folks

Food was decent but nothing extraordinary. The mushroom cream sauce was more oily than creamy, which was a turn off. But the real issue was the service- it was incrediblyyyy slow. Took us 30 minutes to receive our app, and that was only after we asked the server to check. Then the mains came 20 mins later, again after we asked them to check. We had a movie to see so we were on a time crunch. We gave ourselves 1.5 hours so we could enjoy a nice dinner before the movie, but by the time we got our food, we rushed to eat it and leave, so we could get to the movie on time. My wife didn t finish her meal so we asked for a to go box, and they gave us a wrapping paper- for pizza! Even when we asked for a box, they didn t bring us one. But we just saw the table beside us get a to-go box for their pizza.

Come here if you re craving a seafood dish !!!! Wow their seafood pasta is top notch, perfectly balanced savoury tomato sauce, the freshest mix of seafood from the sea, and your choice of pasta noodle cooked perfectly al dente. I ve paid double the price at other Italian restaurants in the area and aren t even close to this remarkable piece of deliciousness.

Everything about this place is amazing. The ambience is very nice, you can tell that everyone is having a good time. I havent tried everything ( yet ) but every single dish we tried was great! The fettuccine were cooked properly al dente as they should be. Its very very rare to find authentic Italian Cuisine in Ontario so this is a real gem. Our server, Sara was fantastic! Super friendly, made great wine and food reccomendations and she consistently made sure that we were being taken care of and having a good time, we most definitely appreciate that.

We were first introduced to Thats Italian when they contributed to a large community gathering we were part of. Impressed and grateful, we wanted to show our support for their family-run business. It has now become a favourite of ours. Whether its a business meeting, date night, meet-up with friends, or just dont feel like cooking night, Thats Italian hits the mark for food, service, and ambiance. I confess I found my favourite dish (penne pollo e pesto) and have rarely strayed. My husband has been more adventurous with the menu. Its never disappointed, and there is always enough for me for a take-home portion. Their menu offers V, VG, H, and GF options. Thank you, Mary and Sarah, for stellar service that is always cheery, efficient and accommodating. Definitely reserve yourself a table, especially when they have their special Pastalicious menu - $25 for appetizer, pasta dish, and dessert. There is parking right outside the door. The main entrance is accessible, though the washrooms are downstairs, where there is also a private room for events. Pick-up, delivery, and catering available. I truly do not understand the lower rated reviews; I guess some people are just very hard to please. Its been a win for us each visit.

I recently ordered pizza from Thats Italian Ristorante. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with this restaurant. We unsealed the pizza boxes upon our guests arriving only to discover that both pizza boxes were most definitely dropped as all the pizza slices and toppings were to one side. I expressed what happened to Joe Lombardo; Michela Lombardo and Mary Zarkadoulas. They wanted proof therefore pictures were sent. Their response was take your business elsewhere. I told them that they fail significantly in the most basic concepts of customer service. Also, that their response speaks volumes on how they are running their business and that it was a clear representation as to who they are as individuals. They were indifferent and did not want to do nothing to make things right. Save your money and go somewhere else!! They do not care about paying customers. I recommended to them that they use my payment perhaps in attending a class in customer service at their local community center. Not surprised to the amazing quick response to my negative review of your pizza restaurant. I can see from all the past negative reviews this is what you do. You look for anything to get back at the person, you make up stories, comment on the use of coupons, their tip amounts etc. to just name a few. This further response is to clarify on your made up points to my my negative review: 1. The pizza order was delivered at about 6:00 p.m. We waited for all the guests to arrive before we opened the sealed pizza boxes at about 7:00 p.m. We called your establishment as soon as we opened the boxes when our final guests arrived. 2. We dont know why the pizzas were ruined ask your HONEST driver who has had past experiences with dropping pizza boxes. Why would we sabotage our own pizza order with a house full of guests? Makes no sense. 3. We only recall one time over 10 years when there was an issue with our order, I remember the pizza was burnt. I dont remember any other times. 4. My work email was used for convenience and for no other purpose at all. I think most people can relate with this point and are intelligent enough to see where you were going with this. Where I work as no relevance what so ever to a PIZZA order. Enjoy the cake and icing though! Congratulations you are the ONLY restaurant I have ever given a negative review to. The only thing that you are correct about in your response is that there are many amazing restaurants to go to. Again it is our pleasure to take our business elsewhere.

My family and I decided to try this restaurant. We were excited since we love Italian food but unfortunately our experience was really terrible and we will never go here again.The head waitress was very scary. She did not treat any of us with respect, was rude, loud and probably the worst service we experienced. She was also agressive when clearing empty plates, happily dropping crumbs into food plates we were still eating from. We ordered and noticed they served other tables that ordered after us, before us. We think there may be some prejudice or racism involved as she did not smile at any of us but was smiling at other families who were maybe Italian ... and we were not. The pasta was not cooked (we like al dente but this was barely cooked). We waited 1.5 hours to get our food, it was 3 hours by the time we could finally leave. Head waitress was very rude to the other waitresses. She was barking at us like we were her employees but we were guests. She is in the wrong line of work clearly. The icing on the cake was she expected us to split up the bill between ourselves at the end and kept pestering us over and over again if we were done calculating. Worst restaurant ever!! Be warned!

The food was exquisite, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The cozy ambiance made it perfect for any occasion. This place is located in a small plaza. Its a hidden gem!! I have been coming for less than 2 years biweekly. The food is amazing from their antipastos, pastas , pizza and main course. Its hard to find a restaurant that has true Italian authenticity and that home made sauce , yummy!! I start my meal with a dirty martini, antipasto & burrata with prosciutto. The wine selections is great and easy to pair with a pasta or main course dish. The owner Joe and staff Mary, Sarah, Emily are so welcoming and very attentive. My go to place to have dinner with business clients or family and friends. If you have never been yet, great way to try some dishes with their pastalicious event. One of my favorite time of the year, I come with some of my family over 10 people. We eat and drink for a price that cant be beat with the best quality food and hospitable service!! See you soon. I emailed Michela for lunch for my sisters 40th birthday (12 adults, 5 kids, 1 baby). She was very responsive when i had questions. Sara and Jessica and the rest of the staff were attentive and patient with us. We were a bit of a chaotic group because of the kids, but they were ok with it. Also, someone offered my sister a metal container when she was trying to have my nephews bottle warmed up (we didnt have a proper container for it). That was nice and thoughtful (sorry, I didnt catch her name). They also played Tagalog (Filipino songs) music while we were there . Great value for the food and service :) Thank you!! Vegetarian options: Theres vegetarian options...vegan options are minimal.

Recently Catered food for my daughter s 30th Birthday, Joe took care of everything and I have to say all the guests loved the food, I will continue going back to Thats Italian for any dining experience whether eating in at the restaurant or catering out. I know that I will always get A1 service. We also had my daughter in laws baby shower in the restaurant last year food and service was perfect as always. Would not hesitate to refer to friends and family they will not disappoint

What a beautiful experience! The food was delicious- I had he Mad Italian pizza and the hot oil they use is HOT!! My husband had TWO plates of Spaghetti Gamberi because it was that good! The food is so reasonable priced and they do not charge extra for GF pizza! The ambiance is cozy and great for a romantic dinner or with the family- I do not know how they managed to make this possible but they did! The service is on point- the servers were attentive and informative. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners and though they were super busy they made it their priority to check in on their patrons. It was a phenomenal experience all around! Amazing amazing Italian restaurant! Highly recommend for dining on any occasion (including special events). You re treated like family here and the food is fantastic. Fabulous deals for dining. Price point is excellent for the great quality of food you get. Mary is excellent such a fabulous cook and really keeps the place moving as well. Substitutions are very easy to ask for and be accommodated. The owner as well is very personable and approachable :)

The food and atmosphere here was amazing, we started with an appetizer. I definitely recommend the Diavola Pizza which was spicy but not over powering. The food is definitely larger in portion so keep that in mind when ordering your food. The restaurant is definitely more of a family oriented place, so next time you want to go out as a family for dinner you ve found yourself the ideal spot. I also wanted to say a huge thank you to Alina and Emily for making the experience even more splendid. Thank you for your hospitality and we ll see you more often.

A hidden gem in Woodbridge.

I booked a party to celebrate my son being called to the Bar for early November with 1.5 week s notice. Michela made it so easy for me with quick response time to all my emails, great menu options and allowed for flexibility to accommodate for a nut free menu and offering vegan options. We arrived 45 minutes early to set up. Emily Battaglia and Sara DiSimone greeted us with a smile and said: We will make this party happen . Loved it! The service they, and Miteh, Anna, Alina & Juliana, provided was second to none! I was impressed with their service that I wanted their names. I booked That s Italian a few years ago for a Confirmation and was impressed then. I was again impressed Thank You! My next event will be booked at That s Italian without hesitation.

Sarah and Juliana didnt even flinch at our large group of 30. Hot delicious courses are always served swiftly and with a smile. The owner Joe is always so gracious, personable and super easy to work with. Michalea is always fantastic at organizing our annual menu and we love having the private room to ourselves. Not one person from our party ever has any negative criticism and we always look forward to coming back again every Christmas. First time here on a saturday night . Heard of its great food catering service which i may try out . Food was okay for everyone . Food took long to come out. My linguine pescatore was satisfactory . Seafood didnt seem fresh . Would not recommend over other italian restaurants in Woodbridge but nice atmosphere and polite service

The best restaurant I have been to in a long time. They did not discriminate during the communist mandates and for this I will support them as much as I can. I highly recommend this restaurant as the perfect restaurant to go with your spouse for a date and an amazing meal.

Best pizza for take out in vaughan... the way the dough is made...it stays crunchy even a few hours after you bring it home. So its perfect for delivery. Also the staff is super friendly and Mario the co-owner is just the best! Highly recommend this spot

Sadly our food took a long time. The arancini was disappointing, was hoping it d be made in house but it was clearly premade and frozen prior. Calamari was the best item, their margarita pizza was a bit on the thicker side. Service took a long time and waited 15-20 mins for the bill alone. It s a bit on the pricier side for what it is.

Had the absolute best experience last night. Went with my sister and my 95 year old Dad. We recently lost our Mom a few weeks ago so have been trying to get my Dad out to cheer him up a bit and us as well. The atmosphere as always beautiful. The service by far was over and above. New waitress Emily was amazing and had a smile that lit up the room. You would never know she was new. The food was fantastic. My Dad being from Abruzzi loved the polenta fries. We then met with the owner Joe who was fantastic. My Dad who uses a walker had to go to the bathroom and could not go down the flight of stairs so he took us to his wifes clothing beautiful boutique next door to use hers that was on the main level. Now that is service. I highly recommend that you try this place. They have great catering packages for the holidays that are well planned out and great pricing.
