Hibachi, also known as Japanese steakhouse or Teppanyakiis a post–World War II style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which is the metal plate on which it is cooked, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. The master chefs will dazzle you with their samurai like swordsmanship as they slice, dice, juggle and entertain while preparing delicious food on a sizzling Teppanyaki grill.
Drove by this place so many times and never knew what we were missing. It looked too expensive to be honest, but very glad that we were wrong. Finally decided to give it a shot coming back from some Ikea shopping, and it was quite an experience. We did not do the whole cooking performance thing, but I'm sure that would have been great as well. Special mention to our waitress, "Som". She was super attentive and took really great care of us when we were there. We don't find that quality often when we eat out, so our thanks for looking after us.
We were really pleased with the entertainment. Really great place to come with a company for some celebration. The explanation of how everything works was a bit not clear, I mean, we were for the first time and had to ask twice to understand what we need/have to oder. The food was good, my husband really liked chicken rice. Honestly, prices are really good for the overall experience
Came here with some long time friends and the service was really good, the staff were attentive and friendly. Tried this place for the first time and had a Wagjag deal. 4 person dinner meal but there were only 3 of us since one person couldn't make it. Lots of food and it was quite fun. Would recommend it to others to try.
The best Hibachi Teppanyaki I've ever been too. The Manager Johnny was amazing, hospitable and he will go above and beyond to make your experience memorable and fun. The chef was entertaining and the servers were friendly and accomodating like Priyanka. Food is fresh and delicious. Over all, great customer service and wonderful staff. Definitely coming back! Thank you again for the amazing experience and for giving us take homes.
We decided to try this type of restaurant out and went during a weekday evening. They have plenty of locations however we were told to try the Vaughan location. Allen was attentive and welcomed me by name when I sat down. We had the prix-fixe dinner which I have included the menu options in the photos section. We ate well in all honesty. My personal favorite was the lobster and the AAA steak. Darwin was our chef & entertainer for the evening and he was also very attentive & considerate with his customer service approach. We also enjoyed ice cream at the end of our meal. The restaurant automatically includes a 15% TIP on the bill for your awareness.
OUTSTANDING!!!! I ordered AAA steak with lobster and was absolutely blown away by the quality and flavour...veggie fried rice was incredible. One of the best meals I've ever had...and that is saying ALOT! Fast, friendly service, pleasing and tidy with beautiful decor.
Went here a while back and had a great experience. Love the whole atmosphere of a teopanyaki place. The view of the grill, the chef coming in and putting on a great show is so much fun The food was good, but nothing spectacular, but also they want to ensure it’s fully cooked is all. Had the lobster and steak myself and the family had a bunch of other options. Everything was great and even sitting with other people, which is usually the case was still a very fun and engaging experience. Service was great. Booked resos online and was immediately greeted and brought to our seat. Teopanyaki chef was amazing. Had a smile the whole time and tried to have everyone participate when possible Great job overall
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and clean, much like the other locations, and the exhaust systems WORK as soon as they're turned on, I think that's where a lot of the complaints about being cold come from. Personally, I'm happy with a breeze if it means I'm not walking out reeking of meat and onions. One thing to keep in mind here is sight lines at the tableside grills, we were positioned beside/behind the chef. Be sure to sort that out upon arrival if it's an issue. The portions of the salad and sides here are slightly smaller than other locations, but the taste and quality is on par. The steak, chicken, and shrimp were delicious and cooked to perfection. The chef was friendly and entertaining, he delivered a wonderful meal and was entertaining from what I could see from my less than ideal vantage point. All in all, good value for the price paid. It met my expectations.
First time and last time at this location. It was a Wag Jag deal, thought we d try it out . The show of cooking the food and the food it self was really good. The service on the other hand was absolutely horrible. We waited so long for our drink order to be taken, never asked again if we wanted anything. I had to ask for our dessert cause it also was taking so long. They weren t even that busy, so that definitely was not an excuse. Totally disappointed!
Exceptional teppanyaki restaurant. Very good Japanese food, a must go. Also, it is the best bar for all Asian restaurants. Food
I have been to this restaurant a number of times and always enjoyed it with my family. We went with our kids this evening and the food was great. However we were seated by the windows and it was extremely cold. The chef was delayed because after we ordered they decided to seat an additional 4 people at the teppanyaki table after we placed our order. The food was delicious and the kids enjoyed the show put on by the chef. My issue came when we wanted to pay the bill. I let the server know that I had a gift card. He said that because I used the WagJag deal I could not use the gift card stating that it was using 2 discounts. Im unsure how using a gift card to an establishment is a discount. So I tried to compromise and say ok please put my kids meals on a separate tab that I can use the gift card towards and I will pay for the other items separately. He said that they could not do that. I asked why and he said he would ask. Ten minutes later he came back and said that could not be done. I tried to get an explanation as to why I could not use a gift card towards my kids meals which were clearly not part of the WagJag deal and there was no explanation. I was extremely disappointed with the service and that there was not even an attempt to compromise. After all was said and done it took 2 hours to order, eat and pay. I will be using my gift card on another visit and will not be back to this restaurant despite the food being great.
Very friendly. Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Dietary restrictions: They asked if anybody has allergies before preparing the food. Kid-friendliness: Kids friendly, however watch kids to keep them back from the dancing flames.
Food tasted good. Nice place to try
Great experience, great food
We had excellent customer service! Everyone was friendly and courteous. We didn t have to wait too long to sit at our table. Would recommend to anyone - all ages- for a nice place to dine. Dietary restrictions: Lactose free options
Waited 3hrs for food
Overpriced, Small portions. I came out hungry. Nice show for the wife and kids. Food is ok. First time trying it.
Good fun on my sons birthday. The chef show was engaging and he said it was cool. We had the teppanyaki chicken, steak and shrimp. It was all delicious. Definitely would come back.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Not only did this location confirm our large party reservation weeks prior to the date but day of the event confirmed the reservation. Upon arrival. We were told to wait in the bar area as the table was not ready. The manager came over and proceeded to tell us that they actually couldn t accommodate our group size and offered to seat us separately and told us the manager who made our reservation was fired. We waited 1 hour and a half for a table, then waited probably an additional half hour for the chefs to show up. Our group was squished into an area that couldn t accommodate the group size. Each bartender walked by us during our hour and a half wait and didn t acknowledge us to serve drinks. The chef s seemed rushed, had a few tricks and flames but the food was under seasoned and dry. The fried rice was the only decent food item. The lack of accommodation and service was absolutely terrible. The manager did offer us a free shot per person but that unfortunately doesn t make up for the experience we had. I wouldn t recommend this establishment for larger groups and the staff should not book a reservation and confirm a group size they can t accommodate.
My first time coming here Saturday and it was a horrible experience. I was attending a friends birthday who had a reservation for 7:30pm. We never got seated until 1.5 hour later , the cook never started until 9:45pm. Portions were small , would not recommend
It is a very nice place to go on a date or as a group. The chefs are very fun as they cook your food in front of you. We ordered surf and turf and salmon with filet mignon. They were cooked to perfection and tasted even better. We also ordered sushi which were disapponting but we werent bothered because the rest of the food was amazing. I guess the live cooking is the way to go. Will definitely go again.
Service was excellent. I would have liked more vegetarian options
good atmosphere. Very pleasant dining experience. Friendly staff went above and beyond. Made it a very memorable time. Will def go back again.
The chef did bare minimum with the show compared to the other chefs we saw next to us. The eggs were completely burnt but instead of remaking it, he mixed it in with the rice so the fried rice tasted like burnt food. I ordered lobster and it was totally overcooked and rubbery. Overall food was salty and below average. The show was really short and the whole experience was 45 mins. We spent $250 for an hour service. It felt like they wanted to do the bare minimum while maximizing the cost. If you are looking for teppanyaki experience, this is NOT the place. Please read the trip advisor reviews which is more accurate than the Google reviews.
We had a party of over 35 people today. They were so professional and accommodating. The service was excellent.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs and roomy setting so we could bring our stroller. Food
We loved it. Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, & fun!
This place is extremely terrible. On one hand the staff was pleasant and kind as soon as I walked through door but on the other hand I can see how badly the staff is treated by management. I witnessed the owner being very rude and yelling at the hostesses and waiters I was so disgusted I couldn t even finish my food. And to top it off, I heard the owner whisper to one of the employees about the customers saying what is their ethnicity? As if that matters for whatever reason?? I will never be eating at this racist owned establishment again.
It was my first time going to teppanyaki restaurant. It was really cool the way the chef cooked right in front of us and he did a nice show with fire and tapping the instruments. He flipped and chopped the food he was grilling to his own beat. That was nice. Our server was terrible. He was impatient, and it seemed as if he was getting mad at our questions. He seemed annoyed by us. Terrible service !!! Then he forced the debit machine in my face and poited at the highest percentage of the tip while holding the machine himself. I was shocked!!! It was my 1st and last time at this location. I had a bad experience. The only part that was nice was when the chef cooked in front of all of us !!! The food was just OK. Nothing special. I upgraded the rice for noodles , I should have stuck to rice the noodles had way too much soya sauce they were so salty, everything else had no wow factors. The scallops were overcooked and very tough to chew. No flavor on anything except for way too much salt on noodles !!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!!! STAY AWAY !! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR DINNER !!!!
Its a unique and fun experience.
Super nice and kind staff, delicious food, and an entertaining show! We really enjoyed ourselves. We had the chicken teppanyaki and sprung for the veggie fried rice which was worth every penny for the show alone!
Service is good and our chef was entertaining. The food however was not great, they cover everything heavily with oil and soy sauce. Dinner for 2, one soda and one mixed drink was $140.
Great customer service hats off to the chefs, I was 100 % satisfied with the quality of service my family and I received at hibachi Parking: Same property with much parking Kid-friendliness: Safe for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Safe for wheelchair persons
As we walked through the door the receptionist was welcoming. We had already seen so many videos of the show and how exciting it would be especially because we went there to celebrate a birthday but it didn t meet the expectations at all. The chef was not smiling and the cooking wasn t fun nor interactive. When the bill came the server had already chosen 15% tips added to the bill without us selecting and after I had asked to see the manager he quickly removed it and put in our original bill without getting the manager I had asked for 3 times. Overall, not a good experience because we drove an hour just to try the restaurant.
Nice environment. Tasty food and a fun show for the whole table. Its a fairly complete experience. Its nice seeing the cooking progress which keeps you engaged.
I came with my friends and its was 4 of us, in total the food was $200 and it didnt fill us anything, the sushi very small and the portions of rice very small!! For that reason we just add $10 in tip but they shamelessly tell us that we have to put an extra $19 (almost $30 just for tips) because that was distributed in the kitchen and that they lost money. As they were going to lose money if we paid for the full food, it was more the waste of money than food, I do not recommend this place, I have tried better sushi for that price, 0 recommended.
My first impression when we walked in was the floor was so dirty and sticky. When they brought us to the table, the table also feels dirty. The high chair they brought us was also sticky. Food was so salty, nothing special. All the food (veggies, meat, rice, noodles) tasted the same since it s the same seasoning: salt, pepper, soy sauce. It was worse than food court food flavour, the only thing they have better than food court is the meat options (lobsters, steak, shrimps etc) Drinks were also below average, we ordered pinacolada and Shirley temple and both were sickening sweet. Not worth the price with the quality of food. The show was only ok. Servers and chefs were nice and friendly enough. This place does not deserve the 4 stars rating showing on google. I would not come back. Kid-friendliness: Have high chair but chairs are sticky Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, easy accessible
They took freshly made to a whole new level
A great experience for our family. Food was delicious and selection was great.
These places are always good, food and show whats not to like. Prices are pretty average for what you get and they have Suntory Whiskey which is fantastic!!! Great place if you have never been and great with groups. GO ONION VOLCANO!!!!
The Teppanyaki atmosphere is average. I have been to other Teppanyaki chefs who do much better job at entertaining guests. The Teppanyaki food has tons of MSG. I had the worst thirst sensation after the Teppanyaki meal. The chef poured tons of sauce onto our beef, lobster, scallops, fried rice, and vegetables. I would not return for another meal.
Good food, generous portions and fun presentation with chef cooking in front of you. Attentive service from staff Parking: Mall parking
Went there to celebrate my niece s 2 year old birthday. We weren t even seated and the server was there trying to tell us that we can only order from their group menu and that everyone has to order the same one. When asked if there was a different menu, the server told us no. Had to tell them that we saw a different menu online then they bring out the a la carte menu. While we try to decide the server came back 4-5times to rush us to order, they had to bring back up to try and lure us in ordering from the group menu. Before ordering soft drinks, asked if it was free refill, but when the bill came, they charged us for the refills. At that point, we didn t even bothered. The whole dining experienced was very rushed, didn t feel welcomed at all. Once some adults is finish eating, they were there taking the plates and everything away. The teppanyaki chef was the only entertaining part. The sushi wasn t fresh and their food was generally on the saltier side. Just wasn t a good experience
Pretty good service took my 2 grandkids they like it same here and the wife too
What a great night out! The bartender started our evening with a smile and wicked banter. The table was ready when they said it would be. The chef was entertaining, and the atmosphere was outstanding! Food : 5/5
Great experience. My son and I loved it. Food was delicious and it was fun to watch it all being made. Inspired my son to want to try to make at home. Thanks so much.
Hibachi is always a fun time. But somehow the food was bland which was disappointing, especially for the cost. However the pina coladas and dessert were tasty and great. It was also very hot in there, which even though they are cooking right there, has never been an issue at another other hibachi restaurant we have been to.
I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, perfect for a fun night out with friends **Food:** The dishes were absolutely delicious. The chefs were skilled and entertaining, turning the cooking process into a captivating show. I particularly enjoyed the chefs special , which was cooked to perfection with a delightful blend of flavors. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. **Service:** The staff at were attentive and friendly. Our chef was not only talented but also very personable, making sure everyone at the table was having a great time. The service was prompt, and our drinks were always refilled without having to ask. Unfortunately, near the end they seemed to rush our party out, and included tip without letting us know. **Ambiance:** The restaurant had a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The decor was stylish and added to the overall dining experience. The seating arrangement around the hibachi grill allowed for an interactive and engaging meal. **Value:** For the experience and quality of food, I found the prices to be very reasonable. It s a great value for the entertainment and delicious meal you receive. Overall, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable hibachi dining experience. Whether you re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a fun night out, this restaurant is a fantastic choice.
I felt as though the Chef was a little sloppy sharing out the food and they could have given me a heads up that the tip is automatically included. I know some restaurants do this, but was not aware that Hibachi was one for just 3 people. I likely will not be returning!
My parents and I went for a celebratory dinner at this restaurant. The food was great and our chef, Darwin, was entertaining and considerate throughout the dinner. The server who took our order did not have a positive attitude throughout the time that we were there. There was miscommunication for our order, which led to 2/3 of our orders to be shrimp teppanyaki sets instead of steak teppanyaki sets. Although my mom and I were not upset by this miscommunication and kindly told both the chef and the server that our order was not right, the server gave us mean looks and visibly looked upset towards our family. The rest of our time at the restaurant, she would give mean stares towards us and did not smile, even to the couple at our table. It made our little celebration very uncomfortable and we felt like we were being rushed to leave. Hopefully, the management addresses this concern of unpleasant treatment by staff toward customers to ensure that all of their staff foster a welcoming environment in the future.
Great spot...second time here...first time...a while back with friends ....this time with the fam....6 of us ...it was good ...we did the teppanyaki ...it was good...food was good...service quick and attentive....I will be back soon
Lots of great food when you get full menu. All cooked right in front of you to your taste with a little show by the chef. Good service and setup.
Our server was rude, giving snide remarks that we weren t ordering enough food. Okay fine, we ordered an extra dish. Guess what, it was way too much food. The food wasn t even good enough to justify the leftovers or price. Restaurant wasn t full, but they love rushing people out. All in all, never again :)
The waitress is very nice.
Great food, great place, great entertaining service. Best to go before the dinner crowd if you can and make a reservation online. We went for 6pm and the crowd was just coming in after we had finished dinner.
This place is top notch! I love the atmosphere & the food is to die for! The chicken & steak were cooked to perfection! The chef Liem did an awesome job and entertained the whole group! Not to mention, Johnny (the owner) is such a cool dude. And Nicole (hostess) and James (busser) made our night even better with exceptional service. This was my first time here and I m definitely coming back with friends and family.
Really fun and good food.
Ordered Groupon. The Groupon says must use Fri-Sunday. The Groupon does NOT explicitly say the voucher cannot be used on special occasions. My parents tried to redeem on Fathers Day with a proper reservation and was turned down. This reflects the transparency of the booking process without even getting access to the food.
First time at this Hibachi location in Vaughan, was very easy to get a reservation, we were celebrating an anniversary and Father s Day. We ordered a mix of appetizers; avocado rolls, tempura shrimp , beef gyoza and upgraded from the white rice to veggie rice and noodle, our chef could have been new because he seemed to be slower at getting all the food together in a particular sequence and a timely fashion, basically we were eating plain noodles for 15-20 mins before the protein was placed on the grill our server was very attentive and the manager John was also very attentive to us and showed empathy and sympathy towards our experience, he handled the matter with professionalism and integrity and care and was able to resolve the matter at hand. Very appreciative John for all your help! Thanks again.
Wheelchair accessibility: Each access Food
A very cozy place. And to share a delicious meal, a delicious bite. Vegetarian options: Excellent prepared Parking: Paid parking in garage. Kid-friendliness: Very ideal for children. Wheelchair accessibility: Ample space for wheelchairs.
Absolutely appalling experience! This restaurant demonstrated blatant racism by prioritizing white customers over us, despite our earlier arrival and appointment. We were forced to wait for almost 30 minutes on the table after ordering food. To top it off, when our fried rice finished, it was clear that we received significantly less rice and vegetables than neighboring tables. The staff serving fried rice to the other customers first, they arrived much later than us and ordered later than us, they all get more than one bowl of fried rice, when it comes to us, at the end of the table, I only got a half bowl of fried rice, I was asking for napkins and sauce, the server just ignore me and ask the white customers next to us how was their food, It s disgraceful and unacceptable to be treated with such blatant discrimination, never come again!
Went 2 nights in a row loved the food Will be back ! Food
Fantastic service and phenomenal food! Great variety too! The steak, lobster, and fried rice were my favourites.
The restaurant has a modern design, although the Christmas wreath on the wall of the reception area in the month of May is somewhat irritating. The staff are friendly and nice. The restaurant has several teppanyaki grills, with 2 groups sharing one grill. The four of us shared ours with an Asian family of four. Our seats were spacious enough. The dark artificial marble table had unfortunately only been very poorly wiped, so that it was still a little sticky in places. The drinks we ordered were delivered promptly and our food requests were then taken. Unfortunately, the question about the degree of doneness of the meat was not reflected in the preparation. The teppanyaki masters performance was very entertaining and demonstrated his great skill, but obviously took a little too much time, so that the scallops, lobster and chicken were overcooked in the end. We found the seasoning to be a little too salty, but this may be down to our own taste. We give it 4 out of 5 stars.
It was our first time and we had a great time.
I went here for dinner and my waiter was so rude and unhelpful. He ruined me and my other friends experience, all I wanted was a simple request. Don t recommend.
Came for the first time to celebrate a birthday & the staff + chef have exceeded our expectations. They went above and beyond with their service and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back!
Franchise location and I was surprised the food was good. The chef was entertaining. The server was a bit slow and we had to order items through another server as ours wasnt available or cant be seen.
Great food and deal on a TravelZoo voucher for four! Dietary restrictions: Were awesome about accommodating a gluten intolerance. Food : 5/5 |
A nice experience..the food was filling and the drink served was really nice. Wouldnt mind coming again..dinner for two
The show was nothing really Ive seen better in resorts and i felt the waiter was extremely rude i understand i came with little kids so you want the table for bigger parties but we barely even got to eat and he already brought out the togo container and like a min later the bill!! Never refilled our drinks and nothing from the food was even flavourful not the rice not the meats nothing
Johnny gave us excellent service and was nice! They had excellent staff and service and the place was very nice and clean!
Great sushi and roll portion. The Dragon (red) was delicious. Awesome atmosphere and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: Kids are always excited when we go out for sushi and they loved our host, Johnny
Love this place! I can t get enough Me and my boyfriend keep coming back and it slaps every time! they truly never disappoint, the filet mignon and scallops at this location are perfect every time! Great service +++ we ll see you again next week
food was okay. Had a fun dining experience and the chef puts on a decent show.
Just had dinner at hibachi , and from start to finish the service was outstanding!!! The food was amazing! The entire experience was amazing over all. Such a nice friendly , family type of environment. Johnny was amazing to my family and kids. Made us feel very welcomed!! Recommend this place to anyone even as a new place to try and I will forsure be back!
This was a great night out. Service was amazing, food was fresh and tasted fantastic. They also put on a great show while cooking.
I expected more time with the chef. The manager was hovering over us the whole time and never said hi. First and last for me.
Food was alright, nothing special. Not a very exciting performance by the chef; it felt very rushed and not showy at all. The waitstaff was not very personable and seemed impatient. The resturant is visually appealing. Very very expensive for an underwhelming experience. Overhyped for sure
Hibachi Teppanyaki was amazed me so well that I decided to review this place. My wife invested me there. We enjoyed everything at Dinner for two. Employees are well trained. You feel the respect and hospitality. The food was cooked right in front of us. Food was amazingly tasty. We definitely will recommend this place. Thanks.
Fantastic experience. The guy who cooked for us, Ro, did an amazing job. Thank you for an awesome experience
Really disappointing. Probably my worst experience. The show wasnt good. The old guy just wanted to finish his shift and go home and it shows. Food was not great. I dont recommend going end of night. Effort is not there. Very unprofessional. The place is clean though. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating Parking: Lots of free parking Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible
Just celebrated my birthday here. It was 18 of us. No complaints in regards to the food, but nothing that stood out either which is why only 4 stars. One of the reasons for the choice of place was the usual show by the hibachi chef as we had a child with us and i wanted her to enjoy it, but it was not even half of what i have gotten accustomed to from similar places. When we were done with the meal - staff kept cleaning and acting as if we were already gone so felt a little rushed and under appreciated Didnt take any photos of the food as again - nothing that stood out. Parking: This is located in a big shopping plaza so plenty of free parking Kid-friendliness: High chairs
Bought a wagjag voucher to try something new. Never had Hibachi and was eager to try it after seeing it in commercials and movies, (not this place obviously). I will start off by saying our chef was amazing!!! Younger, Indian gentleman, (sorry if Im wrong ), but he was fantastic! He made everything PERFECT! We had to add more seasoning, but hey, better under seasoned than too much salt! The steak was the best medium rare, chicken was tender, scallops and lobster were delicious!!! Unfortunately, we were seated by the washroom hallway. Just a couple of tips: 1) the washroom doors should remain closed. 2) try adding a beaded curtain to make it not so gross Lots of parking. Wait staff seemed very frantic at times but I liked how they were making sure to remove dirty dishes!
Great place
Great food and experience
We had a great experience in Hibachi. Chef Lim showed very well. He carefully cooked and took care allergy person. I like the way he cooked, I gonna request him for next time. Everything so good.
Great service. Great people. Johnny the manager and boo.
Beef and scallops chicken, lobster Quality and quantity are not worth than value Food
Booked a table for 4 here from the voucher on WagJag. We arrived on a Sunday evening 10 minutes before our reservation and we were seated 10 minutes after our scheduled reservation which is not too bad. The front entrance of the restaurant did get a bit crowded as people were waiting for tables and there weren t too many chairs so people were just standing around but also trying not to be in the way. Once we were seated we were sat next to another group (which is expected for Hibachi) however I found that the chairs were squished together to accommodate more people. You end up rubbing elbows with the person next to you and it s hard to get in and out from your seat without shoving your chair all the way out. The cooks were great, very quick and efficient. You get a decent sized portion as well. I really liked the fried rice. It was so good! Once we got our dessert, we did feel like we needed to rush to finish since the other group at our table had already left and a new set of people came in, but overall I give it 3 stars.
Amazing this place never fails ! Food is great one of my favorites
The chef seemed like a friendly fellow, but was a bit heavy on the oil and flames. Some flaming oil made it onto my drinking glass,.so I knew I had to watch this guy. Vegetables were a bit charred and tasted the same. The biggest challenge was dealing with the smoke in the room. I noticed the supervisor and 2 other staff gathering nearby to see what was going on. Our eyes were burning and people were ducking down a bit to get fresh air. Service was polite but forgetful and we had to ask for rice 3 times, but by he time it arrived we were finished our meals (minus the charred vegetables) and ready to go. Suggestion: Dont sit too close, just in case and bring a change of clothes and shampoo because youre going to smell like greasy smoke for a long while. Note: We tried the Fairview Mall location previously and food, service and atmosphere were much better.
Fun, excellent service, accommodated dietary needs even when we had a prix fix coupon. Really appreciated this.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food, great service.
Had my sons 11th bday dinner. Awesome show. Family loved it. Great server Allan and chef Steve. Family wanted to wrap them both to bring home wirh us. see you
Very bad you paying for a live show cooking that s it.. simple food you can even make fried rice at home with soy sauce lol It says it s promo from the add but they gonna let you pay double price the drinks and the tip included So you are paying for fried rice with meat for $60 each which the amount you would definitely be full in a buffet! Terrible price!
My husband and I took my brother here for his birthday dinner tonight. The food was great, our cook was wonderful and we had a good time. The prices seemed fair for the experience, we got drinks, appetizers and our meals. When it came time to pay we tipped what we thought was fair and we were embarrassed by the waiter (not the cook). He looked at the POS machine and then looked at my husband and asked, was everything OK? to which my husband said yes. He grabbed our stuff in anger and when we were leaving we said thank you and wished him a good evening, he looked back at us and then ignored us. We were embarrassed because he did this in front of other customers. Like I mentioned we had a great experience and the prices were elevated but fair for what you were getting, however, we tipped what we felt was right and shouldnt have been treated that way especially in front of other customers. We will not be returning just for this reason unfortunately.
My family went here tonight to celebrate my mothers birthday. Our chef started out pretty good for entertainment but it slowly died down after the first initial tricks (fire, tossing broccoli in peoples mouth). The chef asked how we liked our steaks cooked, 9/10 members from our party asked for medium rare, one of them asked for rare. It ended up coming out well done. Then the chef by accident dropped chicken in our of our guests drink (Manhattan), we kindly asked for a remake of the drink. The next 2 times our server brought out a drink that was not a Manhattan and another drink. When we received our bills our server Doris failed to let one of my guests know that pop refills were not free (which is frustrating). Then our server Doris could be seen visibly irritated with us all the way up until payment. As a server myself, I know issues with drinks and food could become frustrating especially on a busy night, but being visibly annoyed and even staring at us while talking to the manager made the situation uncomfortable. Honestly, we were excited to go out to hibachi since it s been a while gathering with family, but due to the mediocre food and lack of professionalism from our server Doris we will not be coming back.
Celebrated my daughters birthday!!
Great food. Good service. An ok experience.
the worst service ever. The birthday girl was crying. Were here for a birthday and they forced us to leave the restaurant when we were there only for less than an hour. They even forgot to do a birthday greeting and its the most dissapointing thing. I do not recommend this place.
First and last time here. Waste of time and money. Teppanyaki was terrible. I would not recommend to anyone.
Great place to enjoy with family
cook was not the greatest and we found someones airpod in our vegetables. Manager made excuses and did not even offer to comp anyones meals. We could be digesting ear wax.. Definitely not a clean place nor do they take accountability.
I took a friend out for dinner. The food was okay. Our chef was very friendly and cheery which made the experience pleasant. Service was good as well. The meat quality, I would say average. The shrimps and chicken were well cooked. Its a great place for any kind of celebration.
Everything was great, food was great and plenty. Prices were reasonable. I took away one star because we were very rushed. Food being tossed at us quickly and coming around to see if we were done. The bill was brought to us in 60 mins and we didnt ask for it.
Our visit in September to celebrate a birthday with a party of seven was unfortunately marred by the demeanor and actions of our server, prompting me to rate my experience unfavorably. Right from the start, it was evident that our server lacked enthusiasm for her job, openly expressing negative sentiments about her workplace, which cast a pall over our celebration. This attitude persisted throughout our meal, with multiple remarks reinforcing her dissatisfaction. Additionally, we encountered delays in receiving our drinks, having to seek out the server ourselves. Even during a restroom break, her grievances about work continued, further detracting from the overall atmosphere. Furthermore, the servers comment about gender inequality and her pessimistic outlook on career advancement added an unnecessary somber tone to our celebration. It was disheartening to witness such personal frustrations intrude upon our special occasion. To exacerbate matters, the oversight of forgetting the birthday hat until reminded reinforced the impression of indifference towards our experience. In light of these issues, I urge management to address concerns regarding staff morale and ensure that employees feel valued and engaged. Such discontentment inevitably impacts the customer experience, underscoring the importance of fostering a positive work environment.
Finally a quiet place to eat, without music, without TV. An ideal place to enjoy the cuisine without being attacked by noise. THANKS
The reason I gave everything a 2 is because where we were seated it was so cold. The a/c was right on top of us...couldnt enjoy watching the chef, the food got cold...just wasnt a good experience...the few bites that I did have right away it tasted really good, but took the rest home to microwave it. No offense, but would have enjoyed a fast food place instead...cheaper and more enjoyable with family time.
What an amazing experience! First time here and definitely will not be our last. Alice was a great server, Ro put on an amazing show for us, we had a blast. But the thing that stood out the most was Johnny the manager/owner that was super hands on and attending to the guests and servers. Thank you for a fantastic experience.
It was a good experience, just not enough of a show from our chef. They don t give a good performance if you use a coupon . So I would say not worth the 130+ you would be paying without the coupon
Our chef was only doing this for a year.... But he did ok. Young Chinese student, his English wasnt very good and the mask made it very hard to understand. His extra skills werent great, but he was friendly and cooked a good meal. We used WagJag and you must be ready to pay for drinks, taxes and tip. It wasnt the best Teppanyaki show weve went to, but I was thoroughly satisfied. Kid-friendliness: We brought our daughter as an add-on to our WagJag deal.... No issues.
The service was not so good because they forgot to give us plates after we get the sushi. But I truly recommend the food. The food was tasty, and the sushi was fresh. Very interesting taste, never tried those before:)
Dinner and a show, amazing staff, fun atmosphere
Fantastic service! Alan went above and beyond to ensure our dinner celebration was perfect. 5 stars!
I was very disappointed on my 2nd visit...poor service blamed on the holidays and the chef did not seem like he fully understood cooking rear / medium rear / medium .... did them all together and fur the very 1st time at any Tepanyaki...my steak was kind of rubbery ...very disappointed... Sushi comes with extremely small amount of horse radish and ginger ..just enough for 1 piece ..so the other pieces...???? Again ...poor service.... I will keep looking for another Tepanyaki to replace my favourite Iron Chef that was closed down. Plus. I hate the fact that full tip will be added to my bill without proper notification ..especially when its limited and poor service
I d suggest if you want good hibachi you avoid this location. Staff was not welcoming nor was the experience as one expects. Food was alright at best for the $90 per person.
The food wasnt tasty and all the staff seemed overworked and unhappy. It s an okay location for a big group dinner but not great for date night
Food was delicious and service was great! Would definitely recommend!
There was do much food. Had a great time
First time going for dinner. Was fun, staff was great. The only down fall is that one server came a took away the plates a glasses without even asking if we are done. Other than that it was great. The chefs are fun to watch. Will go back with the kids next!
The Teppanyaki we had (filet mignon, lobster tail, scallop and chicken) were deliciously prepared. The chef showmanship was incredible and service was friendly. Variety of Teppanyaki price set is available. Park free and wheelchair accessible.
This restaurant is overly expensive and mediocre. Wait times are also ridiculous.
The Hours for Fridays says open until 10pm, but at 8:35 we called to ask if we would need reservation to dine in for 7 and we were turned down because apparently the kitchen closes at 9pm.. We were so disappointed, We found Chako instead and we were accepted without hesitation.
Its my first and last visit. The floor was very sticky. Salad and miso soup were bland. Meat and fried rice were mediocre, a little burnt. Food in general was not impressive. Chef was not professional, tricks were not smoothly performed, distribution of food was not even to everyone. The manager looked unhappy, didnt smile or greet customers. The 15% tip was automatically added on top of the bill after tax. The only thing I was happy with was our server, Odilo, who did a great job!
Nice foods, first food was little salty, we asked for less soy sauce after that. He did. Amazing. Good shows. Love the services. However, seats are a little too tight.
Bad
We went there with our friends, hoping to enjoy a fun and tasty meal. The chef was friendly and entertaining, and he cooked our food on a large iron griddle in front of us truly precisely according to our orders. He showed us some impressive tricks and made us laugh. However, he also dropped two pieces of our lobster on the table and did not replace them. We felt cheated, as we had paid for a full portion of lobster, and we only got four pieces out of six. The waitress was not rude, but she was unprofessional and slow. She did not greet us or smile at us, and she seemed bored by our presence. She was also very slow, and she made us wait for a long time for everything. We ordered sake, and she recommended a specific brand. However, after 15 minutes, she came back and said they were out of stock, and she suggested another one. It took her another like 10 minutes to bring the thing she had in hand showing us! The food was not bad, but it was not as good as we expected it to be. It did not match the quality of the chefs performance. The lobster was part of a bigger meal, but it was still disappointing to lose two pieces. The worst part was that they added a 15% service tip to our bill, which we had no option to decline. We felt that this was unfair and forced, as we did not receive any service worth tipping. We were not amazed by by the food or happy with the service, and we felt that we had wasted our money and our time. I do not recommend this place to anyone, and I dont think I will go back there again. I dont say it was the worst experience, but well, I dont say it did worth the money.
Its a pleasant place offering a unique experience with good food and service. However, celebrating our anniversary there was a mistake. We shared a table, spent only 1.5 hours, and couldnt enjoy a drink or have a conversation. Its recommended for a different experience, but not ideal for a date unless youre looking for a quick visit.
We went with a large group of 12 people on a Friday night. Recommended to get reservations as this place was quite full at all the stations. Plenty of parking in the plaza so there shouldnt be any issues. First time going to a kind of place with this style of cooking. Quite entertaining when the chef does his tricks and stuff but its also about the audience... I noticed if certain tables werent engaged enough, the guy was simply just cooking. Servers were friendly however I found that we had to wait a good period of time for drinks and soup. Food choices are good, but please be wary of the use of salt as it is used in high dosages and I felt it later so to speak. Vegetarian options: You can choose non meat options to have cooked.
Excellent food but felt very rushed right away from stepping into the main reception. Pushed to the table, menu put into our hands, staff eagerly awaiting our order with only minutes to decide, even with our jackets still on. Didn t even have time to sit down, rest and just chat with our guest party. Right away the food was presented and drinks served. Note that you only have time for one drink before it s all over. Each table is given about one hour and a half from sitting down to being asked to pay. Didn t feel relaxing or enjoyable since we were under pressure to finish quickly and pay. The food was good and it was a fun time to see the chef making the food with his odd tricks. I wouldn t go back as it was over $250 for only about 1.5 hours table time.
I used a voucher so not sure if that affected the service and food. Decent experience but more of corporate box restaurant type experience, similar to the ones found at all inclusive resorts. Food quality was ok, nothing spectacular but not disgusting either, desert was weak, again perhaps related to the voucher. Kids menu is available. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options but all cooked on the same same grill. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair entrance. Table can accommodate wheel chair seating.
We went in for some sushi only. It wasnt very good at all compared to other places we have tried. We found it a bit pricey and not very good. There are much better options out there...sorry.
The table area we were seated was freezing and we had to ask multiple times to adjust the heating. This was extremely disappointing and made guests very uncomfortable. The service was very slow we reserved for 8pm and didn t leave until 11:30pm. The celebration package was missing cheesecake and a photo. The steak I ordered was overcooked, I asked for medium well and it was well done. The service staff forgot a lot of items our group requested. We will not return to this restaurant.
Went to dine at 8:30 PM on 06 Nov 2023. The moment we entered the restaurant, heavy presence of cannabis smell can be felt. Atmosphere is too crowded and noisy, very uncomfortable. Slow and rude service. Food, salad, miso soup, were delivered late - in the middle of entrée being served. Poor skill from the chef, failed to perform multiple tricks or juggles, appears to be inexperienced, lack of coordination, low creativity, minimal entertainment and interaction with customer, average cooking taste.
Overall it was an amazing experience, the chicken fried rice slacked a little. But the beef was PHENOMENAL savory and mouth watering. Strong recommendations for fun and good food
Great fun. Great food Great service Food
Our chef Jose was awesome! Very delicious food, excellent service and interaction.
Came here for a friend s birthday dinner on a Saturday night. The place was jam packed. There were ppl literally standing outside the door waiting to be seated. The person who was attending to our table was not entertaining at all. We got the kind of vibe that it was the end of his shift and he was ready to go home. He seemed to be in a rush and not enthusiastic at all. Barely any tricks, very little effort. One thing I must say is they catered to everyone s needs in terms of food restrictions as there were some allergies and personal restrictions at the table. The food was okay. Didn t care for it much. Don t think I d be going back. I would say the food was 7/10
Great place, we had a wonderful time for my son s birthday, service was phenomenal.
Brings the wow factor to your dining experience! Food was plentiful and pretty good... keep your phone handy to take video of the different tricks done by the chef!
We came for our cousin get together. The service was top notch. The chef was great and very entertaining. The food was good and very tasty. The only downside was the price. Overall a great experience.
The food was decent, nothing extraordinary. The whole thing felt very rushed though, and wasnt really a proper Teppanyaki experience.
First time trying this restaurant for our loved one s milestone birthday and we were impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. We reserved our table for our party of 9 well in advance and were able to request accommodation in a more private corner; we were also offered an optional upgrade for our birthday guest. We were glad we were able to arrive a bit early just to set up and surprise our guest of honour. Our party feasted on the teppanyaki set with lobster, filet mignon, shrimp and chicken; what a delicious spread that was so entertaining and filling, we were so thoroughly impressed with the portion size and taste. Customer service was also great as we got frequent check-ins. Our birthday guest was very impressed and we all had a great time.
The quantity of foods are very low and the quality are average. Also, you have to pay at least 50% of the bill as tip and service. I do not recommend at all, Dont waste your money.
Did not like it. We were rushed out. The cook didnt do any show besides tossing broccoli. The food was not that great either I make better at home.
FALSE MARKETING!!! DEFINITELY NOT WORTHY OF A $160 EXPERIENCE VALUE AS ADVERTISED FOR 2 PEOPLE. Keep in mind tax + tip not included so they are basically saying its worth $200+ for 2 people. IM O the experience was not even worthy of $100. There was no show, no experience, as bare minimum portion food as possible. No full 7 courses you have are given tiny pieces of things and in some course you have to share. We were very disappointed. Worst of all the restaurant smelled like weed, as the couple beside us was being allowed to vape which is nuts.
Service was very good food was tasty,
Had a fun time! Food was pretty solid and the show was a good time. My guy Johnny (I think the owner) really did great in engaging us with the Sake Bombs (pro tips, go on Sunday for it at half price).
It was a wonderful first experience at this hibachi teppanyaki. Johnny and the other servers were very kind and accommodating. My friends and I had a lot of fun. Pro tip: go on Sundays and enjoy the half priced sake bombs!
My husband and I went here a few months ago for our anniversary. Although the food was tasty and the show was decent we felt very uncomfortable about some of the conversation with our CHEF. He started promoting what a great guy Misogynist Andrew Tate is and then he asked us and the other couple at our table for our contact information (name, phone and/or email addresses) so that he can contact us about DETAILING OUR CARS (his main business). The fact that our chef was soliciting us for another business while we were trying to enjoy our meal was so extremely unprofessional! We did not go there to be told how great misogyny is and sold car detailing! WHAT A JOKE!
Even that food was really good and the chef who prepared our meal was good too. The service and atmosphere were terrible. When we entered the restaurant, there was no one to greet us. We waited at least 5 minutes until someone came out. The music was very loud and not appropriate for the place. Then, they were rushing us to finish like someone was waiting for our table when we were the only ones there. I do not recommend this place.
Its a crowded place I guess they are maximizing the space. Never seen so many Teppanyaki tables in one place. The prices were pretty steep but the food was very good. Compared to what was Memories of Japan, this place seems a bit more rushed. The fire volcano for instance was just putting oil on it no pouring inside of it. Sometimes especially for a birthday celebration its the little details that count.
Chef was entertaining. Steak was good but the rest of the food didn t have much flavour. Not worth $140. I would not go back.
José was our chef and is the best teppenyaki chef I ve ever seen. Not only was the food delicious, he was so entertaining and personable. Everyone in our party of 13 was so impressed by him. The owner was also amazing. Can t wait to go back ! Best teppenyaki experience so far.
Over priced for a teppanyaki experience. The cook was boring and the food was bland. The only good thing were the dipping sauces. Miso soup and salad were also terrible. The steak was of decent quality though but you re better off going to another teppanyaki restaurant.
Spectacular show by the cooks
Food itself was good. Steak was very good. Fried rice tasted better than expected. They need to add more variety on the menu. Service could ve been better as waitress did not even refill water for us but ended up tipping $60-$70 as it was mandatory service fee for group of 6. This place is a one time experience thing.
I went there Dec 6th for take out, ordered 2 side noodles and a side steak, asked them to upgrade the steak to a full portion and I received what I was expecting, however the server charged me for a full steak dinner with an upgrade and an extra noodle which is more expensive and suppose to come with soup and salad but did not. My wife gets this for me all the time from the location near where she works, always the same price around $40 but I was charged $52.52, needless to say after being overcharged on my 1st visit to this location there will not be a second visit.
Had a great experience this past Sunday. Without any reservation, the manager/owner, John, was fantastic in assisting us with a Groupon issue. Entertaining teppanyaki chef with delicious food. Waiters were attentive and courteous. Several birthday ceremonies kept it fun for everyone! Will definitely go back when in the area.
Great food, amazing time,
We
lots of people made it very loud. good food Parking: in a mall Food : 4/5 |
Had a party for 11 and everyone enjoyed the food and the show.
