My experience was 10/10, from the ambiance to the food and especially the service!! If you’re a fan of Nigerian food and want to go somewhere aesthetically pleasing with great food you’d love it too! :-)
So I was a bit annoyed when we first got there , they asked if we are there for the ticketed event from what we knew and what they posted entry was free. They tried to get us to pay . Then they said it was fine because my cousin had called already saying she wants to reserve a spot for her bday table for lounging /snacking. I order off the menu , suya platter with spring rolls and samosa , 65$ I got a cocktail they have 18$ (Mai tai) and got 1 shot of tequila with pineapple . I did not get a bill she bring the machine over and I'm asked to pay 125$ which is insane to me . Fraudulent charges 1000% it was my cousins birthday and didn't want to make a scene I just paid it . Never will I go back either . Simple .
Terrible experience with food prices and food quality . 15 for a bowl of rice , 3 dollars for plantain, 20 dollars for protein which i didn't even enjoy not enough and overlooked and 10 dollars for a corona . My bill was 62 .38 after tip. Be careful and check prices before you order my plate was showing 15 $ dolars but i was told it was just for the bowl of rice . I personally wont go back and it was my first time as a customer.
I had a timeeee at Ruumors for my birthday! The food was delicious and the drinks were amazing!! 10/10 recommend and we plan on returning soon 🥂. Our waitress (Faith) was absolutely amazing! The sweetest ever!
Hosted my birthday party here it was very disappointing. The food was bad, burnt fish, pasta too salty, guess couldn’t eat it. Fancy tower drinks look beautiful but taste so bad. The DJ saved the night, good music and vibe but so disappointed in the food and service. Wish I had read the reviews 1st. Payed alot of money to have good food and was so disappointed. Definitely can’t get the birthday moment back, the server was rude and keep rolling her eyes at my guess. It’s sad when you try to support small business and the results suck. Definitely not going back or recommending to anyone.
First of all they made us stand outside for over 30 mins though we had a reservation. We had to call twice before we were given a table, we placed our order and the food was nothing to write home about , my friends lamb chops was burnt and when we complained they said it’s burnt because it’s well cooked. The food was cold and tasteless, they couldn’t even microwave my pasta. We kept waving flies off the table and they had just one server who took ages to get our food to us. The only thing we enjoyed was the music, everything else was zero. The appetizers were nice though .
Moved into the neighbourhood and never thought to come into this place... Frosted glass and a grim name - never really walked in. Tonight, I was walking by and looked at what time they stop serving. Already 25 mins passed that. I walk in to an enclosed space of particularly striking mix of light. My mood settles... And I ask if food is still being served. Though 25 mins after their close, they make me a couple of items from their menu. Whether you live around here or are passing through, I'd definitely check this place out.
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Ruumours Resto Lounge today, and it was an experience to remember! Despite not being of African descent, we were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Booking a reservation online was a breeze with plenty of availability. To ensure everything was set, I called the restaurant and spoke with a very pleasant gentleman who confirmed our reservation. Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't too busy, allowing us to appreciate its beautiful aesthetic right away. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server, Sag. She was warm, pleasant, and incredibly patient with us as we navigated the menu, being first-timers to Nigerian cuisine. We started with the coconut shrimp, which were perfectly battered and crispy, with a delightful shrimp-to-coconut ratio, complemented by a sweet chili sauce. For the main course, we sought Sag’s guidance to choose an Afro stew and decided on the Egusi soup with turkey, accompanied by pounded yam. Though it looked complex, the first bite revealed a heartwarming dish reminiscent of a home-cooked meal. It’s a must-try if you haven’t experienced it before. To finish off our night, we indulged in puff puffs drizzled with caramel sauce, reminiscent of Jamaican dumplings with a hint of sweetness—absolutely delicious. As we wrapped up our meal, another employee came over to inquire about our experience. We gladly shared our positive feedback and received recommendations for future visits. The food here was soooo good my friends are so picky and every one of them enjoyed their meal. The music was amazing and the vibes overall were great. The service wa great and the people were so sweet. We got to take nice photos and enjoy their photobooth light ring. Definitely would recommend

This was my first time there and I had the worst service ever they forgot to bring my food. I got overcharged for one appetizer and a drink. I get it was a party, but The was way too high for me to be paying for a mess up like thatwill never go back
I had the alfredo pasta with grilled chicken and it was really really good and Faith ( our waitress ) was a very nice ,sweet lady , she was very patient and accommodating all in all a 10/10 will be going back again soon . Food

Alright, do not trust the good reviews on Google. We went to Ruumors with a reservation for a Birthday, they made us pay 80$ + tax+ 18% Gratuity and we ended up having one of the worst services i have ever seen: 1. The drinks: it took them 1 hour to bring us our drinks, and the place was not even full. The bartender was drinking right in front of us while we waited for over an hour to get basic drinks(including water). 2. The music: the music is not bad, what is bad is the sound system, they blast the music so hard but their sound system cant handle it, resulting in a very bad sound quality. 3. The Food: the food is borderline a scam. We provided our food choices 24hours ahead and let me tell you, it took them over 2 hours to bring our food. And when the food came it came separately some were getting the food 20minutes after others. The sides were coming literally after we finished eating. This was one of the worst to not say the worst service ever. I do not recommend!!! Recommendation for the Lounge: Please get a better team to provide a better customer experience to the clients. Revise the prices of the food as it does not reflect on the quality of the food you provide. Or getter better chefs to cook and deliver quality food!

Visiting from NYC and found what I thought to be a gem only to be very disappointed from entry to exit. Walked in, after about 5-7 minutes I asked to be seated as 3 people just stood around looking at my friend and I. ( they were not busy btw) We finally got seated and it took appx 15-20 minutes for our order to be taken only to find out that the kitchen is closed. They close at 12am and we were there about 10:15pm. So we were slightly annoyed because that s something you tell someone before you seat then but we went ahead to order drinks. The waiter did come back to tell us we could get 2 specific things on the menu so we got it. The food came and we didn t get any utensils. I asked a staff member for utensils and napkins and she looked at me very confused as if she didn t know what that was but eventually brought it. After we got the drinks and the appetizers, we saw food coming out that looked as if it was just prepared (shrimp etc). What appeared to be the owner/manager got food brought to her as she stood at a Pilar eating right next to us. We tried to make excuses for this place but it just kept getting worse. The drink my friend originally ordered she didn t like so she ordered a different one and as the waiter told the bartender she looked visibly annoyed that we requested another drink. At this point we wanted to leave. The only reason I would give this place a 2/10 was only because they had a saxophonist and comfortable seating. Highly highly do not recommend. Save your coins or spend it elsewhere.

Stopped by this place on a whim and so glad I did! Music was great for those who enjoy afrobeats. Our waitress was amazing & kept the drinks flowing! Didnt get a chance to try the food but the vibe was there for sure. I will definitely be back.
Cool place
Came in visiting from New York State with four other friends. We were seated immediately. However, when we ordered our drinks they took a hour to come to table. We were not updated on the process. The place is NOT big and we were able to see the bartender. She continued to socialize with guest and not pay attention to our order. Our food came out way before the drinks that we ordered. The chicken wings were not fully cooked. Very slimey. The waitress was rude and had an attitude all night.
Ruumors is a Vibe. Serving up amazing flavors and food Ruumors has what you need to start or end your night. Be advised the wait time for food may make you a little hangry.
Love this hidden gem! Food and vibes are amazing. They play Afro beats music and have a afro-fusion inspired menu. I tried the Egusi it was 10/10

Let me tell you about this hidden gem Ruumors ..I had the honour of hosting my birthday dinner on their Sunday Karaoke and games night and let me tell you the staff were phenomenal! Not only were they super accommodating and understanding but literally the entire atmosphere was just off the chart. The food was banging and their MAI THAI IS SOOOOOOO GOOD! My group and I had a great time!

Had the Jollof rice & Chicken today, it was a bomb wow
After waiting for ages the Foods and Drinks came late and no apology giving for the late arrival. When the chicken arrived it was completely burnt which consequently lead to my friend got food poisoning. Aside for the foods the atmosphere was nice and the servers was okay. They charged me for tip by force and they didn t share the information about that like.
visited her during my first trip to canada and the food was so bomb, i had to come back again. the first visit, i tried the asun, assorted meats, and grilled fish. i HEAVILY recommend the asun, it was very flavorful, tasty, and tender. the fish was very moist and well cooked. i could ve done without the assorted meat. the second day, i tried the platter and i had to get the asun again to dine in AND to go. the waitress were awesome and they carter very well to your needs. the atmosphere is nice with good afro beat playing (it s not just repetitive stuff). the main thing to look forward to is definitely the food.
The foood was delicious but the servers werent attentive enough. They didnt give us any cutlery when they served us and also took longer than usual to give us our drinks. They were distracted on their phones and drinking themselves while we waited Also the dinner service was on but the equipment they use to create the ambience wasnt turned on. I mean if they were still busy setting stuff up, they should do it before they invite customers to dine in.
This place is a hidden gem!! Came with a group of 6 and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Staff were so friendly!! Food and drinks were amazing & the music was top notch. They mainly played afrobeats, dancehall & soca. 10/10
Never go to Ruumors for any reason, I celebrated my birthday there and I invited so many friends but I was embarrassed with the burnt food, poor service no care and they were rushing us I totally regret don t waste your money on this place it s just the flower wall decoration that s it

Its small the decor was nice however The restaurant was cold , the food was OK not sure if the apps were made in house IT WAS GIVING FROZEN VIBES they ran out of napkin in the entire restaurant although theres a shoppers right beside them , the vegetable soup took like 30 mins I mean Im totally for fresh food but you have to tell customers and at the time there was no other customers in the restaurant so what wouldve happened if it was busy . With that said its a cool little spot but EXTREMELY OVERPRICED
Great service, the staffs that worked there were very hospitable to my friends and I. The food is very good (taste wise) but kinda small (portion wise). But that depends on what you get. I got the efo riro with pounded yam (assorted meat). It was a huge portion, I couldn t even finish it. A friend got the fish and plantain but had a less filling meal. Great ambience for friends and nice drinks. We will come back again, probably taking portion into account better.
Worst place I have ever been. We got there at 8h30pm to have good girls time and dinner...the DJ came shortly after and started blasting the music..we had to shout to speak. We told the servers this is not the time to blast the music if not we would have come after midnight. The service bad...we were 4 and the will bring food or drink 1 by 1...one person can wait 5 mins before before getting the drink or food .. Coming from whitby I will not go there again
