Gross. Ordered the jerk pork roti and it is STALE. As if the meat was frozen, got freezer burn, was defrosted and heated up again, and then left out for 6 hours. Ive been chewing for 1 minute and still cant even swallow. So disappointing after a long 12 hour day of work. Now Im just praying I dont get food poisoning. Completely inedible. What a waste of $17.

I ordered curry goat roti and was not disappointed! It was hot, fresh and tasty. There was nice pieces of potato and enough sauce to be soaked up by the roti! Parking: Located on the Esso gas station property. Parking should be easy.

If you enjoy bland food then go right ahead this spot is right up you alley. I ordered the curry chicken with a note to make the food extra spicy and add more salt.

Curry chicken roti is ONE!

The food is ok, not the best Jamaican food out there but well enough. However, the customer service is ridiculous! The young girl who works there, no smiling, nothing, didnt even make eye contact. Seemed bothered and was very unpleasant. Also, when I received my food I said thank you and nothing was said back from her. Like I said, I would love to support this restaurant but the extreme lack of rudeness with their customer service will not have me coming back to this establishment!!!

Best roti! Delicious. Big servings -- we have left-overs for another meal. We ordered (2) chicken roti. The chicken portions were generous, flavourful and succulent. There were potatoes but definitely not too much. Next time I will take photos before I eat.

My first time here and I ordered the curry chicken and the food is plenty spiced up and so fresh, the 2 ladies working the sweetest I have ever come across in a Caribbean restaurant. 100% will be back can t wait to try the oxtail.

This place does more for starving families than the government ever will. They usually have a running special on Uber eats which is a godsend. The food is also delicious. Staff are old school down to earth hard working decent people. A real gem.

Annie knows her stuff. I have ordered several times before posting. The Curry Chicken roti is excellent. Her curry has a warm heat to it - goes down good, has a smooth heat that doesnt sting the tongue and it is big and packed with a balanced heat. Jerk chicken has a nice bite to it but not overwhelming. Good stuff !!

The best curry chicken I ve had to date. Each piece of chicken was tender and flavourful from the first bite to the last. Was even more impressed that I didn t have to deal with any bones like at other places. Not a single one. Exceptional food and I will surely be coming back.

True contender for the best Caribbean food in Toronto

Ever since the pandemic, Annies Caribbean Express has been a staple in our family. Its easy to pass it by, as it is located in a gas station - but dont let that discourage you. Here you will find some of the tastiest food! Our children, who are notoriously picky, really enjoy the curry chicken, while the teen and the adults enjoy both the jerk chicken and the barbecue chicken. The jerk pork is also outstanding. Ordering large gets you a good-sized portion, and it comes with rice and peas and a small container of really delicious coleslaw. The beef patties are also delicious (regardless of mild or spicy). The staff are hard-working and friendly, and your meal will be dished up in a relatively short amount of time (so theres no real need to call ahead). We eat here probably once a week as it is fast, delicious and much better than other fast food options. Looking forward to our next visit!

First time ordering from here and was quite happy. Picked up on Friday two oxtail and a goat roti. Found the portions were generous, the food tasty. Wish the goat roti was boneless, but we enjoyed it. Will return, thank you staff.

The food was good. Oxtail and rice was great. The goat was still salty, even though they added potatoes. Some channa ( chick peas) would be great in your curry.

I ordered 3 roti through UberEats and expected rotis, not dulpuris. Maybe if you will send people dulpuri, change the name on your menu to avoid confusion. I know some people call it faratas, but roti is not the same as dulpuri. I will order from somewhere else next time. Not to mention all 3 were cold and hard!!!

I ordered through a fighting food waste app, so I know I wasnt a direct customer. The food was great and Im glad a restaurant with great food is on the app to fight food waste and provide affordable meals. So 10/10 in terms of food, however, a 1/10 in terms of service. Lady behind the counter was rude from the moment we walked in. Honestly, if I hadnt pre-ordered through the app I probably would have just walked back out again without ordering; which is a shame because the food was actually good. If someone doesnt like their job and having to be friendly and interact with customers then find a new job.

Ordered through Too Good To Go app, so it was a surprise order! SOOOOO Delicious!!! Stew beef or oxtail, I dont know what it is but it is super tasty! Plus I got two patties and some coleslaw, what a steal!

Ordered a large ackee and salt fish and they put barely any ackee, filling the entire container with rice. Even though the picture had dumplings and I asked for no rice side. There was also no plantain. Very disappointing.

Delicious food and generous portions! My husband got the large jerk chicken and I got the large curry. Both tasted great and we had enough leftovers for another 2 meals! We will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.

I ordered a meal through too good to go app. I was pleasantly surprised at the generosity of Annies ! A big portion of jerk chicken on top of rice and peas plus a small side of cole slaw and a beef patty to boot. The food was good and I trust all their food is probably just as good. The only big thing that needed improvement was the service attitude of the woman behind the counter. 5 stars for the food.

Strange first time visit: Grumpy staff arguing in front of me and another customer and I got refused the order size I wanted! Good reviews on here but my chicken was mediocre. Bad vibes today from the staff, its too bad .

Annie s has great tasting food but don t ever order the two good to go. They claim you re getting $15 of food for five dollars. You re not even getting five dollars worth of food for five dollars. Rice potatoes coleslaw a little piece of bread oh and maybe one very small partial piece of meat. If you re going to eat there pay the full price get the large order and get your four pieces of chicken that are proper ones yet small but amazingly flavourful. For us we get two meals out of that After trying this app and the special deal I don t know if I would go back they are not helping themselves by participating this way.

Delicious foods but they may be overpriced in my opinion. I didn t get the generous portions as what other reviews indicated. Seems to me that the small size compared to the big ones doesn t have that noticeable difference.

One of my favourite places for jerk chicken. You always get a big serving of chicken with loads of rice and peas. One of the best tasting places around and the staff are always really nice.

This place used to be my fav, lately the order for Large ox tail is getting less and less oxtail and watered down flavour. I was in today grabbing my order and the old auntie that works there was disrespectful to the young girls who work there and dirty she used an old margarine container to scoop sauce into each tray. Sad this was a great place to go to. Won t be going again

I tried this place through uber eats- I got curry goat, jerk chicken, and a jerk chicken sandwich. I was very impressed. This place has very delicious food and generous portions. The jerk sandwich had so much chicken inside that the chicken was falling out lol. The only thing that I would change is I would make a note to request a bit more gravy in the rice and suggest having more peas in the rice. Overall, the flavors and portions were perfect. 10/10 this is my new spot now.

Horrible dont even waste your time.. I should have none when I walked in and it was connected to esso.. Rice was cold and under cooked. Beef patty cold and not cooked I just threw away my meal. Waste!!!

Wow! Finally! Ive been searching for an actually good Carribean restaurant and every one Ive tried falls short. Either too sweet, under flavoured or not properly spiced. Annies fully delivered. It was actually delicious. The chicken roti was excellent, the jerk chicken well spiced and fell off the bone. The oxtail was Great. We ordered a bit of everything, just to help out a small business and to try it all. And everything we ordered was great. If youre looking for an authentic Carribean experience this is it. My family is from Saint Vincent and I grew up eating enough curries and rotis to know my stuff. Well done Annie!

Annie s is easy to miss since it s tucked into the Edson gas station but missing out on this fabulous food would be a tragedy. My favourite dish is the goat roti. It s succulent. Tender pieces of goat in a rich flavourful sauce, just the right amount of potato all wrapped in a freshly steamed roti shell. Easily enough for two people for lunch. The jerk pork is also delicious. The team is friendly. Definitely my go to spot!

Ordered through Uber eats. We got 3 things. The oxtail was a little bit on the sweet side and not as tender as we d like but still good. The rice and peas was fresh and delicious. The curry goat and white rice tasted perfect, meat was tender and seasoning was on point. If you are Jamaican then you will know that is exactly how curry goat and white rice should taste. The large ackee and salt fish order had good taste but lacked colour and the ackee was more on the mushy side and the ratio to ackee and rice was off so I would get a small size if you are craving ackee and salt fish. Overall, it was a good experience but the goat is easily the best dish out of the 3.

Boneless chicken roti shredded chicken not for me curry is salty to my liking, cant eat with your hands falls apart need a plate with a knife & fork. Oxtail also salty beware...more bone than meat maybe its a off day for flavor but both flavor & portion size is a no go for me not for what you oay.

They have the best jerk chicken in the city! The chickens flavour is on point with just the right amount of heat and excellent spices. It was also tender, juicy and delicious. The rice and beans were also awesome. The serving size was big and the price was very reasonable.

Great food that sells out pretty quick!

During times of struggle I dont like leaving negative feedback, but this comes with some suggestions to help. Today I ordered a Large Oxtail with rice and peas. I usually go in person, but today I decided to use Uber. The portion of oxtail was half of what I got with an in person order, and the rice was doubled. I paid 3 dollars more, not for rice but for meat. The rice is a side dish selection. If costs need to go up that is ok by me but please stop ripping off online orders (in case this is common practice). I like to support local businesses, but after today I will not be ordering online again. I will give an in person order again in the future when I am in the neighbourhood, but no time soon. To quantify it for you I got 1 cup of meat (including bones) and 5 cups of rice. Rice is not an expensive item. Here are some suggestions: Make this size a medium ($16). 1.5 cups of oxtail, 3 cups of rice. (Which is a bit less than the amount of oxtail I got in my last in person order). For a large portion add $5 and 1 additional cup of oxtail, and 2 additional cups of rice. Also the coleslaw was dry so it was not mixed at time of ordering. I have Jamaican lineage and I want to see my people succeed but not at the expense of ripping off customers that are paying more for a delivery service. Overall the meat and rice were tasty. I leave this review from a place of compassion, but also from a disappointment. I wish you success in the future and hope you take my suggestions to heart.

Spicy and delicious jerk pork roti. The dal purri wrap is a bit lighter in ground chick pea and less greasy than many roti places. Kinda nice to have it feel a bit lighter. Still very substantial though. The fried plantains are a killer and cheap side. Can see the spices...big flavor punch. The gravy was thick (oxtail?) and hadnt leaked out after eating half with my hands...but not dry at all. Good balance. Cash only. Ordered ahead. Hope they survive in the location though; dont be fooled by the gas station. Will go again for sure.

The food is ok. But please ah beg the jerk chicken chow mein needs reinventing that is NOT chow mein. Flavourless noodles and frozen veggie thrown in with some chicken on top. I was so disappointed.

Decided to try Annies tonight because Id recently had some disappointing jerk roti from other spots and I was craving something good. Annies makes a jerk pork roti that is not only spicy and flavourful, but moist too. Too many roti shops serve up a dry, soggy roti. Annies knows what theyre doing. Also gotta give love to the salt fish. Such a big portion and the fish is great with the peppers. Cant go wrong ordering from here. Excited to try the rest of the menu next time!

My sister has ordered from here several times and raves about the jerk chicken. So I went in on Saturday purchased a medium jerk chicken. The food was delicious and plentiful. I will return again to try the curry. I would recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for good jerk that falls off the bone.

We recently ordered here through a food delivery app and we ended up missing 50% of our order. Ultimately it was most likely the drivers fault but the food we did receive was fantastic. Enough so to dismiss the meals we were missing. The jerk pork was tender and melted in your mouth, perfect spice blend and heat level. Very generous portions, enough so 2 large meals ended up sharing between the four of us!

I used go to this spot when it was at Jane and Annette. Proper jerk chicken, and curry goat. Dont mess with success, this place has it. (In-house patties made by Annie would be something special no doubt)
