Nice place. Small but cozy. Food was delicious and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. A tad on the pricey side for what is is though.

Ordered via an app and wanted to cancel 60 seconds later because no drivers were accepting the delivery. Martins grill house decides to charge me full price for the meal, and refuse to deliver the food or allow me to pick it up. I consider this theft. Do not support this business.

The entire staff are so fantastic and very focused on service and one staff member he put my doggy bag in a paper bag with a funny comment. He must own the place.

Excellent Portuguese restaurant. Felt like I was transported right back to a restaurant in Portugal . Food was superb and the owner was very friendly . Definitely wish we lived closer to visit often for authentic cuisine.

I usually come here for takeout or I ll order catering for larger events when I don t feel like cooking. They are by far my favourite place for Portuguese style Bbq and they are most likely to the largest selection of ready-to-go delicious meals. Sometimes come in wanting to buy just one thing, but once I get there it s so hard to choose from so many delicious looking options. The only negative thing I have to say is when it comes to ordering their food on apps like UberEats, their food is over priced on the apps and quantities are much smaller then when you pick up the food in person.

Ordered here one time a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. I ordered again, and they didn t include any sauce whatsoever. Had to make another order for just two little side sauces which was another wait of 45 mins. Contacted them and they added two custard tarts which is overly priced btw! But we just thought it was their mistake and it happened. Ordered it again today, no sauce. It should be a common practice to include sauce in your food. At the point, I don t think I m ordering again.

I had a very disappointing experience with my partner. From the moment we walked in, we felt out of place, as if we weren t welcome. The staffs behavior suggested a lack of respect for diversity, which was disheartening. It s clear that they could do better in fostering an inclusive environment. I cannot recommend this restaurant, as it seems to have issues with racism.

I do NOT recommend this place if you are a person of color. You will not be looked at or checked on as much as those that are not POC. It s sad because the food is okay but they really could care less about you. I truly felt invisible. It s disgusting behaviour..

The chicken was not tasty at all. I was quite disappointed. They also said that a sweet sauce was included but it was not there. The pepper sauce was not spicy at all. All my guests said it was terrible.

Came to dine with my family and the service was horrible. Lady serving told me to get the take out from next door its cheaper. Then waited for a glass of water for over half an hour and had to ask 2 ppl. One waitress pretended she did not see or hear me. Maybe its my skin colour!

Food: dry and they refuse to provide sauce unless you basically beg. What a joke. Service: miserable staff with bad attitudes. Acting as if theyre doing you a favor by selling you their meals. Atmosphere: brutal ! Full of people with the same behaviour as the staff. Giving you dirty looks and making you feel uncomfortable. Stay FAR, FAR away from this place.

Food was really good it tasted like the places in Portugal more than most of the other places I ve been around the city.

The restaurant was full so we sat in the patio, it was very chilly and they had outdoor heat but it was not working. We were a party of 4 people for lunch. We ordered a bottle of the red and a bottle of the white house wine which was very good the food was terrible and way overpriced. We ordered appetizers, clams, fresh cheese, and the flaming chorizo. The clams were frozen and the chorizo was cold and still raw the entrées were also very disappointing. We ordered two. Carne de Pork Alentjoa and two beef a casa with french fries the beef was dry and chewy and the Carne de Pork Alentjoa was served with cubed fried potatoes that were so saturated in oil that made it unpleasant to eat and the clams were frozen, chewy with sand. A very unpleasant experience and so over priced. I will not be back to this place.

Had the half chicken dinner! Beyond impressed with the flavour right off the grill. I definitely will be back. You must check them out!

Excellent portuguese fine dining restaurant. The service was quick, friendly and easy going. The food was amazing. And they have a big list of portuguese wines to choose. They also serve desserts and coffees.

Food was delicious. Place was busy. Staff was nice and the owner came over to see how everything was going. Place had the feel of a Portuguese restaurant in Lisboa.

First time to this place on recommendation from a friend who is a regular to this restaurant but other than the service everything else was really good. We were the first table of 4 for lunch and it took a server over 15-20 mins to serve us even though we were the only ones at that time in the restaurant.

We stopped in for lunch today and we are so glad we did. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant is very clean. The food was amazing. We ordered the bacalhau à Brás and it was the best we have had in the City. Great place for a party or get together or just a lovely lunch of dinner for two. This will definitely be our Portuguese stop from now on

I had ordered food for a large party of 50 people on August 10th Martins kindly offered to deliver the food for me. I was thrilled. The food was absolutely spectacular. Quality, taste and price was outstanding. Everyone loved it, thank you John, Rui and staff for making our party an amazing success highly recommend them and have given your contact information to all our guests. It was so good that guests kept going back for 2nds and 3rds. Obrigado!!!

First time at Martins are plates were well prepared and presented and delicious were from Kitchener its the best Portuguese cuisine Ive had in years.

I Love their food is so good!

The portions I received in my delivery order were beyond disappointing two quarter chicken dinners should be more than 2-3 bites of chicken. It was greasy and lacked flavour. Maybe it was because you were set to close soon, I don t know. Shouldn t be the reason for poor quality. What a waste of time and money. Also, some of the potatoes were undercooked quite gross..

The food is good but a little expensive

Weve had 4 or 5 dinners with our friends at Martins Grill House in the last several months. Even though the restaurant is a bit far from our home and the area where it is located is pretty old, it is an outstanding place with a great Portuguese cuisine. The verity of dishes is impressive. Our favorites are octopus and fish. The presentation and service are top-notch. Overall, it is an upscale restaurant. Pricewise, it might be on a somewhat higher level, but still reasonable, and their price-to-value ratio is good. Highly recommend. Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu

I was craving Portuguese food and came here because it was closest to me to try out and it was by far THE MOST SALTY AND GREASY FOOD I HAVE PUT ON A FORK!! I had Portuguese chicken with rice and potatoes. Not to mention it isn t even cheap I can t remember last time I didn t finish a meal that i bout and had to throw out. Staff was also rude

Indoor seating is very spacious and theres outdoor seating when weathers good. I ordered the Halibut. The portion is very good, very thick fish steak with veggies and 3 small potatos. Everything was well seasoned and it felt like a healthy meal. Service was good polite and quick even though there were many customers. I live about 45 mins away without traffic but I would come back again in the future. Vegetarian options: There are 4 salad options Parking: Location is in a plaza with plenty of parking. Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu with 4-5 options.

We are from out of town and it was our first time eating at this Restaurant and it sure wont be the last! The food was amazing! We were a party of five...we had Grilled Polvo and Lulas, which were cooked perfectly, (including the vegetables served with them). The Leitão was crispy and tasty. It felt like we were eating back home in Portugal!! The desserts and coffee were very good as well. The staff were friendly and very efficient! Cant wait to return!

Ordered on Uber Eats. It is 18 km. away, but was craving Portuguese so accepted my 1 hour wait time and $30 tip as the bill was close to $150. It was all worth it! 5oz STEAK was selling 2 for 1, so had to order 2! Very Portuguese - had a choice to add an EGG on top. Steak cooked just right! RICE W/VEGGIES was perfectly yummy. QUARTER CHICKEN DINNER was also on sale 2 for 1 - Got 2 of these - Did not disappoint! Cooked to perfection & very tasty - sauce was excellent. SWEET SAUCE very good! ROUND POTATOES were great consistency but lacked flavour - needed sauce. BIFANA NO PAO COM CEBOLADA was top-notch & great portion size, tender & delicious! Not on sale but I am happy I ordered 2 of these! Lastly, BACALHAU À BRÁS...Other restaurants make you order minimum $75 worth of this dish, as I assume its expensive and time-consuming to make. Martins lets you order a single portion for $28 which was well worth it! It was enough to split into two portions for me. I admit I have had better (at Red Rooster & home-made by my Avó) but this was still a very good bacalhau, and I enjoyed it. Love how they wrap every box with tin foil to maintain heat. Even with the 1 hour wait time, this food order was hotter than some I have had delivered from down the street!!! Reasonable prices. Very impressed Overall with this restaurant and will definitely order again.

Being Portuguese this is my favourite Portuguese restaurant. This is the place I always visit for special occasions, we have had family functions here as well. If you want a small cozy place to entertain. The food has never let me down and the service is friendly, attentive and they give recommendations if you dont know what to order.

Extremely disappointed!! We ordered takeout and I was disappointed to find out that the food is not like it used to be. I ordered two picanha dinners medium rare the steak had no flavour at all one order was medium rare to liking the other was overcooked. I also paid $65 for the tiger shrimp and they down sized it by cutting them in half instead of getting 10-12 full shrimps like before you were getting 8 halves or 4 full shrimps. I ve always recommended this place before I guess not anymore

Yesterday a friend of mine brought me to Martins for dinner and what a great experience. I arrived before my friend and a greater immediately welcomed me and brought me to my table. To make matters better she also waited on our our table, her level of sincere care, and interest in us having a great experience was evident from the start. I wish restaurants would learn to not have one single host but waiters greating you and taking care of you through the entire process, such a refreshing experience. The food was outstanding, the menu has everything you could imagine and my impression was that 90% of the food items, including deserts are made fresh daily and in house!!! During our meal the owner also checked in on us (did not claim to be the owner, I later found out), He too was humble and attentive, spoke to his food options etc. clearly his staff are engaged at the same level, the three pillars of success for a restaurant, service,service,service. Carlos you have a fantastic restaurant going, and Adriana (our waiter) is more than a keeper! See you again!

Such rude and ignorant staff. I went there to pick up an order and I ended up standing there waiting and waiting and waiting. The workers were just trying to avoid eye contact with me and would not acknowledge me at all. It is like a third world, jungle mentality with the workers of this place. Very strange....Someone needs to give them a lesson on hospitality and manners. They lack even the most basic manners and decency. What is wrong with you people? No other restaurant has such a nasty and dismissive attitude like your rough staff. Other restaurants are very professional and very pleasant to visit. Definitely not yours .

We have been here several times . This time we brought 2 birthday families with us . The service was awesome by Adriana who is used to dealing with big groups . The food is simply amazing. The staff is nice too.

Even after many years, this place still stands out as the best spot for grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, and chicken patties, potatoes, and other delicious items. The staff is friendly and efficient, and everything ordered to go is wrapped in foil, which is a really nice touch. The chicken portions are generous, and the sauce for me is always served on the side because the chicken tastes amazing as-is, no sauce needed really, but i love it with the small roasted potato. I absolutely love this place.

I tried many Portuguese spots, this one has a huge variety like many others, but each dish I tried was intense - flavourful, fresh, and the chickpea chorizo dish was pure gold. Because it is also a restaurant they offer multiple desserts at the take out spot.

Very disappointed with the food. I have never in my life had such salty food EVER. What happened?!?! Just terrible.

Was not impressed that at the time when most people stop after work there was no chicken ready. Had to wait 30 minutes. Not good customer service. That is main item most people go for and only to have none available. Should be prepared for the rush and that time of the day.

Ordered for my party the chicken rice and potatoes and it was all so good even their hot sauce is delicious!

Took my son do Martins restaurant as a treat , it was just the two of us. We sat outside in the patio, there were two other tables being served when we actually sat down. The Host brought us the menu and left. We waiting over 20 minutes and nobody ever came back to take our order or to check on us. In the mean while the other tables were being served. My son which has special needs and has autism was getting anxious so we end up leaving and not eating there. Very disappointed how we were ignored by the staff. Been there many times before with friends and family and the food is delicious. But this time it was a very poor service. Nobody should be ignored like we did. To the restaurant management, please train your staff to treat every human respectfully and serve them as you would serve any other guest.

It is a good portuguese restaurant, for the most part you cant go wrong here. They have good portions, some classic portuguese dishes. I do however find it a little more expensive than some other portuguese restaurants, just something to keep in mind

Business dinner and they wouldn t separate the bill. Hello have we landed in 1992?! Food was nominally impressive, and who wants to spend $7 on a bottle of water? Apparently us when you ask for still water. What was really most disappointing was the service. I haven t been to a Portuguese restaurant in years and was terribly disappointed. Not sure if it was because none of us spoke the language but we were virtually ignored all night. 1/5

My family happened to find this place while staying nearby on a trip to Toronto. It was wonderful. The portions are large and both the whole fish and steak we had were delicious, albeit salty. The servers were kind and patient. It is a nice restaurant for a date or to bring young children. Our table ordered four desserts and they were all very good. We would happily return to try more of the menu. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and a kids menu.

52.00 dollars for a small chicken potatoes and rice. Let that sink in 78.00 (not including tax) dollars for two small chicken (worth about 6 bucks each ) and rice and potatoes Let that sink in. Way better options and quality around this area. Absolutely a rip off. Never ever again. Don t go here spend your money wisely.

Fabulous food. Busy place with a loud atmosphere. Our steaks were superb... and large. Were both taking some home. The spice profile was truly awesome for the steak and veg. Prices on the med/ higher side but so worthy. Make a reservation! Now! Parking: I needed handicap space, but was lucky to find something close. Kid-friendliness: Welcome families. Good kids menu.

This was the second time visiting this restaurant and it was a totally delightful experience. The food, the service, the price, everything has been excellent. I was in another very fancy Portuguese restaurant in Mississauga but, the food was so disastrous that we couldnt finish eating. I think, after that experience now, it will be very difficult for me to try a new Portuguese restaurant other than Churrasqueira Martins Grill House in 605 Rogers Rd #1, York 100% Recommended. Attention from Dayana and the senior server was absolutely amazing, see you soon guys!

Adrianna was our server, she absolutely killed it! My moms birthday we celebrated here we ordered a sea food boat, my mom has very serious celiac issues. . Our bill was over $650.00 Adrianna has a very nice approach to her customers with funny jokes,very fast service and taking in the extremely high factor my mom has celiac and talking to the chefs & making sure nothing is cross contaminated. Thank gyal!!

Really Good Portuguese food served here

Love this place for takeout . In restaurant dining is ok! They use to have a really nice grilled calamari and they now have battered not as fresh version :(. Their chicken and salted cod is delicious aa always :) Will be back to try their seafood platters - heard some great things about them and hopefully will redeem my -1 star from a perfect 5.

The Best Portuguese food in York The food is delicious and fresh. Excellent Customer Service, all the staff are very friendly. We had a Christmas party at work for 120 people and everyone loved the food, no leftovers . For a side treat, try the best pork belly (el chicharrón) you will have. Food

I was there for a large family gathering (about 40 people). After we were all seated, the food arrived, and we had to flag down the server, to see about getting wine. They also attempted to remove platters, while there was still food on it. The price was far more than I felt worthy, however, I understood that seafood was served, although very little alcohol was consumed. Servers were very pleasant and attentive, once I brought this to their attention. Value for the money, is questionable.

We had a great Christmas party. Friendly and efficient servers. Excellent food.
